I've been a long-time Yolanda's fan but this last experience was a bummer. Missing items for the to-go order (including a queso), burnt and overcooked chips....minimal chips compared to the last several years. I requested the lettuce instead of slaw on my taco, and it was clear that they put the slaw on, forgot, and tried to scrape it off and hide it with lettuce. And it wasn't ready at pickup time. There red sauce burrito just had heat no flavor and there tortilla chips had no salt , and there horchata was watered down straight from the machine. The person who took my order didn't really help me out and was more or less rude towards me and my family throughout the whole encounter. my 8 year old sister could pick apart everything she didn't like about her order and say that she's been to numerous different Mexican restaurants and gotten better service and food, and another occupant of my group said that the food was better under the old management and didn't taste anything like it used to. read more

I got two al pastor tacos which were pretty good! I would have preferred the pork to be a little more tender, but it was seasoned very well. The chips and salsa were great! The service was nice and quick - it didn't take long to get my food. The restaurant was clean and it wasn't hard to find seating. Parking: I would recommend finding some street parking if it's available because it could be a hassle to validate your parking outside the restaurant. And it's not that bad of a walk through downtown Castle Rock. read more

Being from South Texas locals insisted I go to Yolanda's. After years of not being in town I finally decided to get lunch there. The guy taking my order was passive-aggressive or he just hated gringos. When my tacos came out I knew it was like the dozen Mexican restaurants in Mission Texas. First time to eat here after walking by a million times since we moved here a few years ago. Honestly, not sure the appeal of this place. I guess it's pretty cheap, but I didn't realize it was a poor man's Fuzzy's. Service was friendly enough, but that was about the extent of anything decent. Food was mediocre at best. Chips tasted like they came out of a bag, and salsa was cold and served in a disposable plastic container. None of my three tacos tasted anything other than something you'd get off the $1 menu at Taco Bell. My wife's quesadilla was so greasy, when she picked it up, her hand was glossy and needed to be wiped down. It was food, and as of now, it appeared slightly edible, but it's difficult to give any more credibility than that. read more

These are the most flavorless tacos I've ever had. I didn't know you could mess up tacos. They looked bad so I wasn't compelled to pick up my phone and snap a picture. Tons of lettuce, a round tomato like you would put on a hamburger, cold pale corn tortillas and super dry flavorless filling. When you eat tacos they should drip. These don't. And it came with a super mild tomato salsa. There was a tiny sprinkle of white cheese. This is what I imagine is served at retirement cafe. As I write this I realize there are people who enjoy their food this way so this place is for you. read more

The service is always pretty quick despite if the place is packed or not. My favorite thing there is the beef barbacoa. It's not spicy at all yet still tasty. Better than any fast casual Mexican food place I've had in castle rock. I was craving street tacos, but once I saw the nachos were the most liked thing on their menu, I got carnitas nachos. The service was so fast - I waited under 2 minutes for my food and was out the door! Great white queso, good flavor to the carnitas. The only thing I'm not a huge fan of is the Serrano peppers. A little too much for me, but that's my fault for not asking for none. I'll be back to try the street tacos! read more

If I have to submit my license plate number, cell number, credit card number, and email address just to park in their parking lot and then submit my parking validation so I don't get charged to park....it's not worth it. I simply wanted a to-go order, but because I parked, it didn't matter. So parking.com has ruined the experience here, no taco is worth 10mins of giving your info to the automated parking system, cameras and all. I had to call them only because I pulled in, read the "Parking.com" sign, and immediately left. They billed me for reading their sign and reviewing their website. They credited it, but it's BS that I wasn't there for maybe 2mins and left.....5 hrs later, it shows I'm still parked. read more

Next time you see a representative from castle rock thank them for the chaos they created downtown. Had lunch on a Tuesday around 130 pm, and I learned if you don't provide a third party personal information you run the risk of getting a $60 parking ticket for using Yolanda's parking lot. Yolondas food is pretty good and the salsa is tasty but the chaos of parking in the area is not worth visiting IMO. I will not be returning. The mayor and representatives have ruined a once interesting town. Now I feel rushed, parking is a zoo and I felt I was downtown Denver. I should have listened to my dog. I had some after being out of town this week since I didn't have a lunch, and the tacos with tinga chicken is always delicious! Salsa is why you should visit this place. Not the dance but the Salsa Fresca aka Pico de Gallo. They have over ten kinds of salsa from mild to spicy as you go down the list from top to bottom. This casterly rock location is clean organized and right next to a park and gelato across the street. They have special items of the day which was Gorditas in the day we went. Their chips and queso taste like real cheese. Thank Chris Andersen( Birdman properties) for me never to return to that parking lot or visit any place within that parking lot. I gave a lot of business to Yolanda's and surrounding business. *LOCALS PLEASE READ* I have been here about 20 times, so it's sad to leave this review. I heard them talking in Spanish about the customers, including me in discriminating and horrible ways. They show hate and complete disdain to Americans or "Gringos" and show no remorse when told we understand what they are saying in Spanish. They said they don't care because these reviews will be buried under all the good reviews by the other stupid Americans who frequent here and don't know any better. For your own dignity, I would recommend you tell all those local in Castle Rock to not go here. I have never come across this kind of situation in all my life with a business. The main reason I didn't rate this restaurant higher is because I'm pretty sure they adjusted my tip amount. My bill was around $12, I tipped on the lower end so it should've been $15. But my card was charged $23. The reason I don't tip much at these types of places is for 2 reasons 1. The cashier has a unwelcoming and uninterested attitude, he's there every time I go so it wasn't an off day for him. 2. The only service they do, is bring your food to you. You get your drinks, you throw out your food (it's just my personal opinion if you're not a full service restaurant you shouldn't expect to be tipped as one) and they don't even have their own restrooms. They are shared with the neighboring coffee shop and they are always pretty nasty. Last time I went the vanity was literally hanging off the wall and 1 bulb was working, as well as been caked in dust. Food isn't terrible, very typical Mexican cuisine, nothing special. read more

I have been to multiple locations and their tacos are always excellent, especially the crab, which is my favorite. This experience was no different except that we didn't eat there but took it to the local park. My complaint is their use of styrofoam and, in addition, the recklessness of how much they use. We probably had 5 containers when it easily could have been 3, maybe even two. No businesses should be using this and should be switching to some other material. For this, I deduct stars on the review until they start both conserving its use and changing these out. read more

Summary/ Worst tacos ever - coming from an authentic Mexican from the South... I know a Sam's Club frozen "fajita mix" if I've ever seen one... The same guy is pictured below in the other, recent 1-star rating. I'd like to preface this 1-star review that the 1-star is for their queso, quac and chips. They are on point. The review is for the tacos and customer service. Ordered 8 tacos with onion and cilantro with limes on the side. Typical, traditional Mexican tacos... At least all the ones I've grown up in and had in Mexico, Texas, California and Colorado. The order arrived out and had lettuce and tomatoes all over 1/2 the order. Other 1/2 was as ordered. Fajita meat was specially asked if I can get only beef... Wasn't told no from the guy handing us the food. FYI - Only tacos I've ever had that come with lettuce and tomato -- Taco Bell. Let him know that all we wanted was to have the stuff taken off and made the way we ordered them. Not a big deal... just want them remade. Not angry. Not pushy... Just explaining the situation and nothing more. Waited 2 minutes, he comes over with the printed ticket from the kitchen and argues with me on what comes in the tacos. Again, in front of everyone at the counter and, at this point, aggressive. Never asked the cashier what happened... Just started arguing and continuing to be right instead of making it right... Asked for refund of tacos: $30 for 8! Not worth the $30 or the time. Won't be in this place. Not authentic taco meat (frozen chicken, beef with onion and bell pepper mix from Sams Club for the "fajitas") and dry as the air in Colorado. Carnitas and Barbacoa, couldn't yell the difference in meat. Didn't try the carnitas because, at this point, this place proved that when in doubt, get out. read more

This was our first time to this location after the one in Greenwood Village closed. The guy who was taking orders seemed very annoyed that he was working. Not friendly at all. Lady who delivered food wasn't friendly either. Food took forever to arrive even though they didn't appear to be busy. We went here today for lunch after not eating here for over a year. We weren't huge fans the first time but figured we would try it out again. I got the carne asada tacos, and they tasted like a ground up McDonald's hamburger. The tacos were covered with shredded lettuce and had a slice of tomato in the center. There was no salsa or lime, and lacked any good flavor. My husband got the enchiladas which tasted like unseasoned boiled chicken, wrapped in a tortilla and microwaved. We were super bummed by both meals. The service was ok. It was quick, but the employees were subpar in service. The building was very clean, and a great location. Unfortunately there are 2 Mexican food places on the same block that blows Yolanda's out of the water. We will be sticking to those! read more
