Was in the mood for some yosh. The one closest to me burned down so I had to come down to the one in San Fernando. The place was very clean on this day. The girl behind the counter was very nice. Bathrooms were clean. And the food was very good. I really enjoy their clam chowder, although I think they downsized the portions.

Regular, skinless chicken bowl with vegetables and brown rice. Added pepper and ginger.

Honestly, the best Yoshinoya I have had in a long time! Loved it!! I ordered the skinless chicken, regular bowl with vegetables and was so excited to find they had brown rice! Yay!! More fiber! Better health! I added pepper and ginger twice! It was delish! The service was also great! Thank you!

    Reality: what I got

From what I've read after my experience, this location is VERY stingy with their portions. Ordered a large gyudon beef bowl. Looked like a potion and a half of meat (if that).... I asked for more ginger and the young lady (not her fault) said they're limiting 4 ginger pks per bowl. I told her I had a large bowl, and she said sorry it's per bowl.... I'm wondering if my portion was because I used app coupon. Also I'm wondering if the ginger limit is a corporate limit or location limit because I've never had this problem.

Was craving Yoshinoya and decided to go to this one cause it's closer to me. I sued the coupon you get in the mail and got the 2 large bowls for 15.99. I got one of each which are the gyudon now and the donburi (beef and chicken bowls). What's not pictured is the large chicken bowl and the Tokyo fried chicken I got because I forgot to take a photo and I ate them ahah. Anyways as usual I've always loved Yoshinoya through its ups and downs. The food to me always was good and the pricing is kind of ok it's expensive for sure even with coupons in my opinion. The service is what you expect in every Yoshinoya but with that being said each Yoshinoya is different and this one the I think the general manager was the one who served me. She was nice and polite even though they were clearly busy! The ambiance is what you expect from a Yoshinoya. I think my experience was good and I'll probably keep going to this one since it's closer! For me 4/5 stars!

I am a fan of Gyudon but not so much of Yoshinoya. I don't come to this location very much but I have to say, comparing this location to many others that I have visit I am pretty pleased to say it is the cleanest and most helpful location I've been to. There were some questions I had and the cashier at the time helped answer all my questions. There was good communication between us as I was a little confused with the new flavor that was advertised. Yoshinoya has changed a lot in the past decades. It was great then it started to lose its charm. Its not anything too new but now days there is so much customization that you can do to your bowl/plate. I thought the Ribeye with Yuzu Jalapeno sauce was a new dish item, but it wasn't. It was just the sauce. Anyways. My visit was a pleasant one and would like to come back to this location if the dire need to visit Yoshinoya arrives once again. The only complaint I can give are the seats are non padded and cold. (this one is for my mama) A plus is, they have a drive thru. Parking: private lot VERDICT: Rinse and repeat

Maggots found in salmon and vegetables

I would never recommend anyone to come here. Honestly this food is absolutely disgusting. call back because I found a freaking maggot in my food. The general manager, apparently some Lady who was supposedly the manager, but has a heavy accent told me she couldn't help me and that apparently I was lying so here's the proof since I'm lying I don't recommend anyone to come in here. This is freaking sick and the fact that someone calls to inform you that they found this in your food and you don't care to do anything about that is pretty alarming.

If you love Yoshinoya, Avoid this place! The portions are terrible. I ordered a large and got the portions of a regular bowl. This place is ripping people off! Corporate id love to have a conversation about this Yoshinoya. I'd love to give them zero stars.

    Burned Teriyaki Salmon

MORONS! Seems like every time I come here I'm dissatisfied . On more than one occasion the staff have issues with each other, They are either arguing or neglecting customers because they are unorganized. The drive thru line takes forever and they hardly ever get my order right, Today I ordered the combo plate with Udon Noodles Teriyaki chicken and teriyaki Salomon with the sauce on the side. What I got was noodles with a couple pieces of chicken drenched in teriyaki sauce! Hardly any chicken and no salmon whatsoever! I am beyond pissed off! Who Runs this store? And why have they been put in charge of a restaurant chain when they obviously don't know how to control their staff or the process of keeping the line moving. Bottom line this place needs a change! Horrible! August 11, 2023 11pm I came back to this place because it was the only thing open near me besides Jack in the box, I ordered a bowl with udon noodles and salmon and a side of udon noodles and a large soda water and a large raspberry tea. I get home from the drive thru grab the drinks and seen the lady had given me 2 raspberry teas, so I jump in my truck and head back to the drive thru and explain what happened, she gives me my large soda water and I head back home, I open up the bag and grab my bowl I open it up and there are no noodles they gave me white rice! And to top it off the salmon is burned to a crisp on one side (Photo Added) At this point I'm angry because the drive thru line is slow and I just went back twice already! I am sick and tired of this place! AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!

I know they use no frozen green beans in the Black Pepper Chicken which is amazing. Whenever I call in to order a soup they have always been friendly and its waiting for me within 10min or less. Wonton Soup - Light, tasty. A bit heavy on the veggies but really good if you got a cold or want a light soup. Egg Drop Soup - Very light. Tasty and coincidentally not overly eggy. There is no meat in this soup just broth, egg ribbons and a frozen veggie mix but it works for this soup very well. Hot and Sour Soup - Delicious. I believe they use wood ear mushrooms in this soup. But this is quite flavorful and tasty. Jalapeno Chicken - Great dish. Savory, sweet and spicy. Id say the sauce its cooked in is a little sweet but it works. I wish they would cook the jalapeno a little more but this is a top dish here. This has zucchini, chicken, and jalapenos. Black Pepper Chicken - Amazing. My go to here. Fresh green beans, chicken in a peppery onion black sauce. Great flavors. Mushroom Chicken - Very light. Sauce is gravy like. Good amount of veggies in here in contrast to the chicken. But it works well especially over white rice or the rice noodles. Orange Chicken - Not a fan. This is soggy. Kind of overly sweet. ChopSpoon is great too when there is an item that is low or looking kind of old. They will cook up a new batch within minutes.

My coworkers ordered the Chicken Gangjeong in both the Soy Garlic and Sweet & Spicy flavors. I only had a bite of each, but both were juicy and seemed to be made with dark meat chicken. The Soy Garlic was actually sweeter than the Sweet & Spicy, which caught me off guard, while the Sweet & Spicy had more of a mild heat than an overwhelming kick. I ordered the Grandma Tteokbokki at spice level 2 and added melted cheese and ramen. Those add-ons were absolutely worth it. The cheese made the sauce extra creamy, while the ramen soaked up all of the flavor and turned it into a hearty, comforting meal. Spice level 2 had a nice kick without overpowering the dish, making it easy to enjoy from start to finish. Overall, everything we tried was satisfying, and I'd happily come back to work my way through more of the menu. If you're ordering the tteokbokki, I definitely recommend adding the cheese and ramen--you won't regret it.

We lucked out and got the last booth before the dinner rush. The place looked exactly like it did last time we came. Staff was still friendly. They don't accept cash, only cards/tap to pay. Their menu looked different. Wish I had taken a photo. You have an option to build your own boil by choosing your protein, sauce, spice level and add in's. They still don't allow you to mix garlic butter and lemon pepper sauces. You're forced to get the Kickin mix which includes Cajun even if you're not a fan of that flavor. They also have a kids menu with 2 choices, appetizers and family combos. Always intimidating ordering from a menu that doesn't disclose the pricing up front. That's the weirdest thing. Even restaurants in Beverly Hills have pricing on their menus. We got the family feast which feeds up to 4 people and had a combo of crab, mussels, shrimp, sausage, rice, potato and corn which was about $107. (Side note, they charge 50 cents for a pair of gloves and they do not provide you with a little towelette to wipe before or after your meal) This I have to admit was a pretty good deal considering it's a good amount of seafood. They serve it to you in a large metal bowl. We asked for mild since we had toddlers, but because of the Cajun in the sauce (that they force you to get if you want garlic butter and lemon pepper flavor) it was more of a medium, and the kids could not tolerate the heat. Which wasn't a bad thing since that meant more for us grown ups. Ordered them a side of truffle fries which was not too bad actually. We also ordered some of their specialty drinks which come in huge cups. We tried asking for two small empty cups so the kids could share our drinks, but they refused to provide that to us. According to the waiter, it's the restaurant policy that they can only provide water cups, but we have to figure out what to do with the water inside. (Insert face palm emoji) Also they do not provide buckets for your shells so we weren't sure what to do with all that water but drink it. The cups are thin paper cups to pair perfectly with those gross paper straws. By the time we finished the water the cups were pretty mushy already. Needless to say we couldn't finish all our food so we asked for it to go, reluctantly as we hoped they weren't going to try and charge us for those to go bags as well. Pro's: they brought the food out quickly. The food tasted freshly cooked. Con's: don't know where to begin. Parking lot sucks since it's shared with multiple other businesses. There is no place for you to sit and wait outside the restaurant. You'll need to stand outside by the parking lot and pray you don't get side swiped by some crazy driver. Menu has hidden pricing. They charge 50 cents for gloves and do not provide wipes for after your meal. They don't provide a bucket/container to place your seafood shells so it gets mixed in with your other food on the table. Can't even ask for an empty cup for kids. They don't let you customize your sauces your way. Sad to say after all this time my review for this place is still a solid 2 stars.

Staff was just as friendly as before, and the place still has that lived-in, homey charm. I ordered a pair of tacos: BBQ Beef and Crispy Shrimp. Both come with shredded cabbage, sliced jalapeños, cilantro and a creamy, mayo-based sauce. The shrimp taco worked perfectly, with a crispy, tasty coating giving way to plump, fresh shrimp. The sauce melded into the cabbage, almost making a slaw you might get on a po' boy, and the peppers added a nice heat. I added a squeeze of fresh lemon, and that rounded things out nicely. It was a great bite of seafood. The BBQ Beef was less successful. The mayo and an extra dollop of chipotle mayo were too much for the small taco, and overtook the flavor of the beef. The beef had a nice flavor, but was a bit too dry, and had been chopped a bit too finely -- I would have liked larger pieces to really enjoy the flavor. In fact, others were eating the BBQ Beef plate, and the beef there looked far more appealing. So, I'm not discouraged. I'll come back for the full plate treatment, and see how things stack up. I still think this is a great place that deserves your attention and support. Good people.

That side is named Kusina Ni Kuya and has a vast catering menu. I came here for a carry out from the Cajun side and picked as I did before, the half pound shrimp. The only difference is this time, I opted for the peeled version. This was prepared in the house Kuya sauce, medium spicy, with an extra of boiled okra. The dish did not disappoint and was consistent in texture and flavor, and a glorious mixture of spices as before. This entrée has a lot of oil added to it, but that is what brings out this burst of taste and satisfaction. Everything was soaked with the thick sauce. This time what I did at home was, I boiled a few golden premium small potatoes with skin, sliced them into quarters and added it to the mix. Once it soaked up the gravy of the shrimp dish, the potatoes ascended to a totally different level. So how does the peeled version compare to the whole shrimp version? I would say that the whole shrimp selection is the way to go. The meat is not overcooked and you get the flavor off the shrimp shells too, that kicks it up more than a notch. In addition, the fact that you have to use your fingers to get to the shrimp meat (though messy), heightens the pleasure of the dining experience.
