Very friendly service, almost too friendly, or maybe I have gotten used to just average service. Anyhow, drove by this spot a few weeks ago and saw the glowing reviews so thought we would give it a try. Was not disappointed at all. We got the takoyaki appetizer. Delicious, fresh, perfectly cooked. Then my husband and I shared the chicken kuraage curry and the omelette rice. Both were delicious. Good comfort food on this rare cold day in Vegas. I would definitely recommend trying this restaurant if you live in the area. Especially if you already like Japanese food. The inside of the restaurant is nice and clean and the food was really good! We tried the tonkatsu and fried shrimp ramen, as well as an order of gyoza, the spring rolls, and takoyaki. There wasn't anything we didn't enjoy. All the food had so much flavor! We decided to try Yoshiya based on the reviews we read. The reviews were accurate! It is a small "hole in the wall" kind of place but it's very clean, well decorated and they play excellent background music. The atmosphere is very relaxing! We were greeted by a young gal who was not only personable but very pleasant and knowledgeable. (Sorry, didn't get her name,) Our food was served to us by Jonathan...a wonderful individual! Our dinner was served quickly. It was attractive and delicious. We ordered a chicken katsu set and they were kind enough to substitute shimp for the oysters in the oyster katsu set. (Sets contain meat of your choice, salad and rice.) We also had a shrimp tempura appetizer. The dipping sauce for the chicken and shrimp was delicious (no spice). The salad dressing wasn't our favorite but when mixed with the dipping sauce, it was much improved! We had a wonderful experience at Yoshiya Kitchen and will consider another visit to try other dishes that sounded great! read more

I finally tried the Japanese omelette and it was DELICIOUS!!! The fried rice in the dish is the best fried rice I've had in a very long time. My husband got the beef bowl which was also very flavorful. My kids loved the chicken katsu. I can't wait to go back when in the area. I'm definitely a customer for life! read more

Very small quaint setting that wasn't too busy fir a Sunday dinner time. The menu did not have any descriptions, so we had to ask the young server. I asked for the curry with grilled chicken as I am gluten sensitive. She was unaware about what had wheat in it. Not a good thing if you are intolerant. My husband ate the curry as I suspected wheat was used as a thickening agent in the curry. Tasted the inlet dish my husband ordered....was quite good. The only caffeine free tea had barley ... fyi. Not a good night for my sensitive stomach, but food tasted good for those that can enjoy. May try again with research as to the dishes. read more

I had an excellent experience eating here for the first time tonight. For appetizers, I had the gyoza and chicken egg rolls. The gyoza was the best I've had anywhere. It was crisp and the soy sauce almost had a smoky sweet component to it. It was unique and delicious. I had the chicken omelette fried rice with signature sauce for my entree and it was very flavorful. This is not something I would normally order because I generally find fried rice to be a bit boring, but the sauce paired very well with the rice and omelette. The restaurant seemed to accidentally give the curry my friend ordered to someone in a takeout order, but the servers were very kind and apologetic. A new order was out within 10 minutes and they offered us complimentary dessert for the inconvenience. We had the yuzu and mango cheesecake - both of which were memorable and delicious. The mango cheesecake had fresh mango chunks in it that gave it a lovely fresh flavor. Overall, I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I'll definitely be back! read more

10/10 I would definitely go back and back again. I had the gyoza which was flavorful and I appreciate the crispy lace they do to add texture. The takoyaki had great flavor in both the octopus, and yakisoba sauce, and that crunchy exterior was just right. Moving on to the main dish I had chicken katsu curry. The curry was good in flavor, it's not a spicy curry so I really appreciate the fact that they give you togarashi spicy pepper seasoning if you want to spice it up. A new Japanese restaurant called YOSHIYA  in Las Vegas,  a friend recommended us to go there because there is a very kind server  name Hiroko, a Japanese woman. We were disappointed that Hiroko san, who looking for, was not there that day.   Instead, a male server was in charge of helping us but I was surprised that he was not kind at all and did not understand the contents of the meal at all. It was a disappointment to know that he was the manager of  YOSHIYA  Restaurant. He was very amateur level where I was wondering if he had ever tried Japanese food!!   We were asked: "before ordering the food, what about your drink?" We wanted to Hot green tea. -- I was also surprised that they also don't have Japanese tea!!   It's a Japanese restaurant, it's disappointing on top of all of that, there is no Japanese tea and Hot drinks. It was kind of cold that day so I just asked for something warm to drink and they didn't have that as well. I questioned myself if it was really a Japanese restaurant I was dining at.   I ordered pork katsu set and Ahi tuna salad set. the taste was ok, but to my surprise, the rice came out in a round shape in a bowl.   This style of serving rice means the same as serving to the dead and Buddhist altars for Japanese people. Are you saying that I am a dead person!? -- I suddenly lost my appetite. I thought to myself, "Maybe it's a Japanese restaurant, but  not a Japanese owner."   When I ordered miso ramen, it was very delicious and tasted good. But we couldn't relax because the servers were all silently staring at us while we are.   Overall, the food is delicious however There are no warm drinks or tea. The server has little to no knowledge of Japanese food. The way they serve rice there is not Japanese. It's such a wasteful restaurant. I most likely would never ever go there again. read more
