My first time at this place, my dad and I were not expecting much. We were the very last customers right before last call. We ordered curry katsu, karaage, gyoza, and fried rice. All of those were really great, a very pleasant surprise, and I especially liked the curry katsu! The owner and our server were very nice and attentive with us. Since our first visit, my family has been getting their food to-go on a weekly basis. I had family from out of town staying with me, and one of my family members recommended this place... I trusted their recommendation, so I placed an order online and spent $200 on this place. We pick up the order and they said they checked the order twice confidently, so I trusted them. We get back to the house and we realize we are missing two items, one soup and one omelette bowl. I go back to the restaurant and explain that they forgot the two items. Young guy with brown hair said they will have to contact the owner to check the cameras to see if I was lying... are you serious? He keeps going to the back and forth to confirm with the cooks that they didn't mess up our order. He tells us that they didn't mess up our order and then leaves to stays in the back. After being ignored for a few minutes, the young asian woman taking orders, says "I don't know what he was saying to you, but we will make those items for you" and did what you would expect from a place with good customer service: ask what they did wrong and do their best to could fix the issue. They replaced the meal, but I tossed it out due to the attitude of the young man and the staff in the back (I could hear them joking and laughing about the situation). I realized couldn't trust them with the food I was supposed to give my young nieces. Never had worst customer service. Food is generally good here, but customer service is awful. Owner should have been there with how busy this place was with all the 18 yr olds running the restaurant. read more

I recommend this Japanese restaurant to anyone who lives in Centennial/North side. My husband and I always go to Ton Ton Katsuya since we live close by and we decided to try Yoshiya Kitchen for a change. We were not disappointed! We had the Takoyaki for our appetizer. Would rate it 5/5! I ordered the Omurice combo. They served it hot and I'm glad I ordered the combo (shrimp, chicken and kurobuta sausage) but it's not in their menu, you have to ask! I rate my Omurice a 4/5! Very filling and very delicious! My husband ordered the Japanese beef bowl with egg and he rates his dish a 4/5. All of the dishes came within 15 minutes of ordering. For our dessert, matcha mont blanc cake. My husband loves matcha and rates this 4/5! I like sweet desserts and this wasn't very sweet but for matcha lovers, you should definitely try this one! This restaurant is nicely decorated and the food is great! Minus one star because I ordered the Okonomiyaki and there wasn't an indication on the menu that there was shrimp in the batter. Best Japanese food in Centennial Hills. Always piping hot and fresh. We have gone back many many times.

My Mom was visiting from Phoenix and we spotted this place on a search online. I am always on the lookout for a good Japanese restaurant that isn't a sushi place. This place is an absolute gem. Small strip mall location with probably about 10 tables, nicely decorated and neat as a pin. Fortunately, the food is also amazing. My mom had the smoked salmon salad which was absolutely delicious and displayed beautifully with mixed greens, edamame, salmon, onions and more. I had the combination fried rice which was also fresh and awesome. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. Also, if you are a soda fan, try the Moshi Yuza Sparkling drink...they have a few different flavors, I had the white peach, it was excellent. Can't wait to bring my wife back and try their ramen. We picked up take out on Saturday night. We got the Beef Bowl and the Curry with Chicken Katsu. We weren't sure what to order. It was really good. I appreciate how they packaged our take out with a lot of care. The Katsu was separate and it was still hot and crispy after the 10 minute ride home. It was pretty busy when we arrived to place our order. It took about 10-15 minutes and we were on our way home. We will be back and look forward to trying something new. read more
