First time trying this place and was pleasantly surprised at the flavors. I got the tteokbokki combo with Kimbop which comes with your choice of a small tteokbokki and any flavor Kimbop. I got the smoky brisket tteokbokki with an additional $1 for rose sauce, and I liked how their standard spice is mild! A lot of the places I try tteokbokki at are overly spicy, so I was actually able to enjoy the dish thoroughly here. I then got a side of the fried shrimp kimbop and it also has a great flavor and texture! The only downside was it was a weekend lunch, and they only staffed one waiter to take orders, serve and clean. It was a filled restaurant too so I felt so bad for the poor worker! She kept moving and working non-stop, so I really hope management here recognizes they need to staff more workers, especially on a weekend!

First time trying tteokbokki. This spot is fairly small and depending what time you come, there can be a wait. Usually for about 30 minutes. The restaurant serves Korean street food items with a variety of curry, kimbap, and tempura. The combos were a bit overpriced in my opinion. Paid 25.99 for kimbap and a small tteokbokki. Service was good and staff were pretty helpful with suggestions.

Phoned in an order for pick up because it's in diamond jamboree and that plaza is always a nightmare. Got two kimbaps and sundae (Korean blood sausage). This spot hits the kimbap craving. Had all the options you could want and some more unique styles too. While I wasn't much of a fan of the sundae, I found it a bit too mushy, my partner enjoyed it. Everything was packed securely and the design even on the chopsticks was a nice branding touch! I'd definitely be back to try some of their other options as well.

Came to Young Dabang for the first time and tried the tteokbokki--it was pretty good overall. We got both the carbonara and original versions with brisket. The place was actually empty when we went, which was kind of nice since it felt chill and we got our food fast. The carbonara was creamy and not too heavy, while the original had that classic sweet and savory flavor--not spicy at all, which I didn't mind. The brisket was a good addition, super tender and flavorful. I do wish they added cheese by default though; that would've taken it to the next level. Service was great, really friendly and quick. Solid spot if you're craving Korean comfort food without the wait. Would come back and maybe try the cheesy version next time.

We went there on Friday evening around 6. It was empty at first, but it quickly filled up and got very busy. Also, parking in this plaza is always crazy, so be warned! We ordered the kimchi fried rice, brisket tteokbokki, original tteokbokki, katsu, ramen tteokbokki and tuna kimbop. Everything was delicious. I especially love the tteobokki and kimbop combo as they complement the flavors well. The decor is very cute -- a nostalgic Korean 90s-2000s aesthetic with vintage wall art, and they play music from that era too. Service was great. I brought a cake to celebrate my friend's birthday, and they cleared the table for us quickly. They also gave us fresh plates and utensils to share the cake. Most of all, I could tell they were genuinely kind and greeted us with a smile. I do wish they offered a small size for the original flavor tteokbokki, since they only serve it in a large size. Otherwise, we had a wonderful time and I highly recommend this place!

I always passed by here so I was curious and decided to try it. We ordered the dukbokki combo with spicy chicken dukbokki, pork cutlet kimbap, and assorted tempura. The pork cutlet kimbap was so good and tasty. I really enjoyed the assorted tempura to eat with the dukbokki. However, the dukbokki was a bit of a disappointment. The spicy chicken combination was okay but not the best.

Everything I've tried so far has been chefs kiss! Staff is always so friendly and helpful when it comes to the menu and recommendations. Portions are big enough to share! I got the grilled brisket ttekoboki. I do want to say the medium level is very very spicy so if your tolerance isn't the biggest I recommend the mild. I've only ordered to go both visits but the ambiance is very casual and never looks loud or crowded. Next time I'll make sure to eat in!

Great place to go to for some comfort food. We got the tteokbokki and kimbop combo which was enough to share for 2 average eaters. We've only tried the bulgogi and shrimp kimbops with the shrimp being our favorite. Parking will most likely be hard since it is in DJ.

Food - 7.5/10 Service - 10/10 The owner was so cute and sweet. She was talking to us and telling us about the free drinks you can get and had the best attitude. My friends and I took quite a while and were a little rowdy when trying to figure out what we wanted but the worker was very patient and I think laughed along or at us unsure. But they were very sweet and the bathroom is very clean in the back with plenty of parking spots in the lot. We ordered the tteokbokki combo c which came with the rose flavor and we chose the grilled brisket for the gimbab and tempura with medium spice. The total for this convo was $45.90 plus tax. The tteokbokki was nice and chewy not really spicy at all. It was also very long you need to cut up the pieces. The meat portion was quite small compared to the amount of tteokbokki and was a little firm and dry. The tempura was great and perfect when dipped into the sauce especially that round triangular one. The kimbap wasnt my favorite but that may be cause i'm not used to eating it cold. The size of it was nice and big though so be careful not to choke

The long tteokboki is amazing! But I love that they serve a variety of Korean night market dishes. I'm obsessed with their egg kimbap and that special sauce they glaze over the garlic butter fries. The tonkatsu dish is fantastic too. Clean seats and tables. Fast service as well.

Came here for a work lunch and I will say it was a nice surprise to find a place that does a combo meal that feeds about three people. I will be honest that it was only two of us so there was a lot of food because the variety of Kim bap, in the variety of other spicy soups was a lot. The flavor was there, and the amount of food was all there, but I would have to say the most valuable part of the meal was the service because they took time to explain all the menus and gave good suggestions and was actually pretty accurate in describing the spiciness levels that you could choose from so for that reason, we were given a tour of the large menu that they had and it allowed us to pick the right dish for what we needed.

Love kimbap but the avocado kimbap here is to another level!! I came by after having had a light meal in the mall but decided to get more food since I was still hungry. Not wanting something heavy I ordered an avocado kimbap! But wow! The ingredients are super fresh! The avocado was super creamy. The rice was well seasoned, and I can actually differentiate each piece of rice, not too soft, not too hard. I had to go back another night! The second time I got another avocado kimbap and a beef kimbap. Also super yummy! The staff was also really patient, made sure to answer all the questions I had, and service was efficient! The restaurant is smaller but overall clean when I went. Hope to visit again :)

Honestly really yummy food! I think this spot is great! It hit the spot for our late night meal and we came out pretty full and satisfied. Located in the Diamond Jamboree Center, parking can definitely be a challenge depending when you go. But there is a parking garage so don't give up! The restaurant itself isn't cute and cozy. There's a decent amount of seating. But I could see it possibly getting more crowded and being a challenge. They are not dog friendly and there isn't really outdoor seating either. You order at the counter and then pick your seat. Service was good. I had no complaints or issues. The worker took our order, was kind and polite and got his job done. There were two people working and they were both working hard cooking, cleaning, taking orders and more. It was nice to see hard workers. Food was pretty yummy. The Garlic Butter fries were soooo good. I liked them a lot! They had a pretty similar taste to Honey Butter Chips. The Brisket Tteokbokki was pretty big. The portion is enough for two, if not more people to share. The amount of brisket was generous. They had a good amount of rice cakes and noodles in there too. I think the price was matching what you were paying for. If I'm in the area, I wouldn't mind coming back again. The food was pretty good and I saw some other stuff on the menu that kind of caught my eye. I think they have another location as well, but this one seems more laid back. Give them a try!

I'm always craving Korean food and this place satisfied my cravings on a Tuesday night. My husband and I got the tteokbokki set with the kimbap. The tteokbokki was big enough to share. It was on the oilier side but it is "street food." Also, the rice cake was not the long ones that I expected. I ordered the mixed rice but I should have asked for a side of plain rice even though it wasn't on the menu. I feel like a side of plain rice should be on the menu. The seating space is limited. You order from the counter and they give you a number and they bring you your food when it is ready. So, it's not table service. If it gets crowded I don't know how they're going to deal with people who want to sit down and eat. Service was good but the cashier seemed a bit frazzled only because this is a newer establishment. I think with time they will figure things out. read more

TL;DR - skip the kimbap, tteokbokki is better! overall, was just okay. would be okay not coming back here. FOOD: set b (tteokbokki + kimbap) *brisket tteokbokki (mild hot) - brisket was really yummy! loved it with the tteokbokki. really liked the texture of the tteok and fishcake. the dumplings that are included got soggy inevitably from the sauce and was just okay. overall, wasnt the best tteokbokki ive had but def not the worst. 3/5 *hot chili kimbap - hard miss on this one. i cant pinpoint what was so off about it- maybe since it doesn't have a protein inside and just veggies? but either way the flavor was not good and this kimbap was genuinely one of the worst ones i've had in my life. 0/5 SERVICE: everyone i interacted with were sweet and gave good suggestions! no complaints. 5/5 WAIT: no wait to be seated! took about 15 minutes for our food to arrive. not bad at all! 5/5 PRICE: the serving size definitely was big! i ate this set with one other person and we had enough leftover for another person for sure. for around $40 total for this set, that's a pretty good deal for the portion. however, the quality of the food is just meh. 2.5/5 read more

Was so excited when this finally opened up! It did not disappoint. One of the best restaurant tteokbeokkis I've had. Base is super solid and not too spicy but very flavorful and of course the toppings are the star of the show. The squid was sooo well seasoned and the saltiness balanced so well with the sauce. The soondae is also a MUST have if you're a fan of intestines/liver! Nice taste and chewiness to it. The place itself is pretty small so it gets busy but the overall wait isn't too long since the food comes out pretty fast. I would give full stars, but the kimbap was very poorly made. Half of it just fell apart from picking it up. Crab one was not special but there's lots of other options to choose from. I also personally love my rice cakes slightly firmer but overall this place is excellent. I also wish I had more quail eggs haha, two seems too few. I will say this menu is on the pricey side but I feel worth going to at least once or twice to get a feel of the menu! I wanna come back just to try the long rice cake just once. read more

Knocked for service. We were the only customers here for about 5-10 mins before another party came in but our tteokbokki went to their table and our side of brisket we ordered was given to us at least 10-15 minutes before we actually got our order. But nobody came to correct the mistake and i had to ask about it for them to apologize about it. They offered to heat up the brisket which was nice but still disappointing to watch another table eat our order while we had to wait longer. Also, the fishcake soup was not as good and flavorful as last time. Some of the pieces were slightly undercooked for my preference. All in all, i was excited to come back but left disappointed. read more

I just went there yesterday and ordered set B (rice cake and tuna rice roll). I love it. The rice cake itself was very soft/chewy, it was cooked to perfection. Although the rice cakes sauce was too sweet, if they can make it a little less sweet then I'd give it 10/10. I love their food selections. Grilled squid tastes so good although it was a bit overcooked (or maybe they re-use the oil too many times). The beef that comes with rice cake was good and tender. Tuna rice roll tastes very good too, but if they can make the rice more softer and hot would be perfect. Service is friendly but a bit slow. Overall, I'd definitely come back next time - maybe just need to ask them making the rice cake sauce less sweet when you place an order. Would recommend this place to others too. The place was in a busy plaza so parking spots are a little hard to find. read more

Everyone working was so kind! Very nice ladies, and I like that the napkins are in the table! I got the rabokki and it was delicious! The sauce is sweet and tangy, and it was very hot temperature wise. I like that the spice level is not too crazy. They have a variety of choices for kimbap and tteokbokki to choose from, including the mala rose tteokbokki. Great service, clean interior, with reasonable prices. There is also a menu option for one person like 1/2 tteokbokki. Their cheese fries and egg kimbap is a must!! Will come back to try other menus. read more

I didn't know this was the same ddukbboki place from Korea that I've been wanting to try. Thankfully, it wasn't crowded because of Super Bowl so we got seated right away. Yay! Everything looked good but it was only two of us so we shared a half size ddukbokki and kimbap. I will bring a bigger party next time to try more stuff on the menu. read more

There is nobody else standing in line outside and the owner comes outside to tell me 2 times that I need to wait 30-40 minutes. I told her there is no waiting in front of me, and that it should be first come, first serve. She says no, you can only sit on tables for 1 person and it will be a 30-40 min wait for that. I said okay, but if there is no line and people are done eating with empty tables it should be fine, right? There is a waitlist, and that it should go in order. She said no, you can only get seated on tables for 1. Then she proceeded to say it's a 30-40 min wait again as if I didn't already know that for the second time. I told her i'd wait, but now i'm feeling bad and don't know if she even cares to earn my business. It's my 5th time coming here, and unfortunately this place was one of my favorite Korean restaurants and since I'm from out of town I make sure to visit each time I am in the OC. I'm not sure if I want to continue coming back here if service remains this way. It's embarrassing enough to come alone, it's even worse when you're called out in front of people inside of the restaurant while there are only 3 people waiting outside. When I got seated she didn't even give me a menu and asked me what I wanted. Lucky for her i'm Korean and was already a repeat customer from the early days so I was able to order right away-otherwise how could I order? God forbid I ask for any recommendations on the menu... 1 star well deserved for this. Congratulations this is the first time I rated a fellow Korean restaurant 1 star. There is a first time for everything I suppose.

Yuk Dae Jang is best known for their premium bork belly, and I've enjoyed it on a previous visit. So I decided to try something different this time and try the Braised Spicy Premium Beef Rib with flat glass noodles. I also asked that it be made less spicy. It still had plenty of flavor with just the right amount of heat, and the beef was so tender. Staff helped cut the ribs so it's easier to eat. I also ordered their steamed pork dumplings, which was a hit! The dumpling wrapper had the perfect texture - it held all of the flavorful filling together while remaining not too thick. The spicy cold noodles was refreshing, but I may skip this one next time. Definitely the star of the show was the Braised Spicy Premium Beef Rib!

My go-to Korean dishes are Yukgaejang and Bossam. The spicy beef soup is usually my benchmark for any Korean restaurant. Tang 190's version delivered everything I look for: a rich, deeply flavored broth with a satisfying level of spice and plenty of tender beef throughout. It's the kind of soup that keeps me coming back. This last visit, I finally got to try their pork and kimchi platter. The pork itself was tender and enjoyable, but I wasn't a fan of the cabbage. Instead of being lightly pickled with salt, it had been fermented to the point where it resembled white kimchi. I've actually never seen it made like this before. There's a wide array of street food classics available, such as tteokbokki, kimbap, soondae, and various delicious sides. I've been noticing the long rice cake everywhere and I'm thrilled that I finally got to try it. I opted for set B, which included grilled brisket tteokbokki and my choice of kimbap (krab). The tteokbokki was delightfully chewy, and I appreciated that they provided scissors for cutting it into preferred bite sizes. The flavors were exceptional, and the portions were generous.
