Recently spent a leisurely afternoon at this Korean day spa, which is small compared to those in other cities but the largest one in San Diego. The gender-specific wet areas (nekkid-only ;) and co-ed jjimjilbang (spa uniform required) cover the basics well, but the lack of an on-site restaurant is a bummer. There's only a minimal snack bar, but at least it's free! Suggested order of operations: book a body scrub + massage combo so your spa admission is included, arrive minimum 30 minutes ahead of time to utilize the bathhouse, and afterwards hop between the Red Clay, Himalayan Salt, Ice, and Relaxation Rooms for up to 2 additional hours. Your mind, body, and spirit will thank you!

The facilities are really nice. The lounge area has multiple places for seating where my wife and I enjoyed our books before our massage and some snacks. The massage was amazing. I had June and she is an assassin with her elbows. After our massage, we enjoyed the amenities such as the Himalayan salt room, the infrared mudroom, and the multiple saunas, steam rooms, and hot/cold baths.

Didn't make a reservation online but did a walk in for a group of 5. Was helped promptly and gave basic information that sent a waiver to our phone to sign. Did the $55 spa entrance and jimjilbang. Got our clothes and went in. Spa was nice. Hot and cold tub and saunas. Jimjilbang was ok. The ice room was closed so there was only two salt rooms, one was too hot for us all. We didn't really use the JJB much. Common area has free snacks - biscotti, mini chocolate, tea/water, pineapple, Chex mix etc. this place doesn't have food options. Overall nice experience but a little small compared to the other ones I've been to.

This Korean spa is affordable for all that you get! They've changed the snacks to more American snacks and the hot tub was broken when I went which was disappointing. However, they gave us a discount since we wouldn't be getting the full experience! The price is $45pp excluding any scrubs and massages. This gives you access to the hot tub, cold plunge, wet and dry saunas, salt room, red light room, cold room, and jimjilbang (common area). No phones allowed in the locker/sauna/hot tub areas but I snagged a photo in the common area!

I've been to a Korean Spa in the past but not specifically this one. This was my first time and I enjoyed my quality time with my mom and sisters. This place is great if you purchase the services because the entry is included! If you're from LA or OC, this does not compare to the Korean Spas from OC/LA , as this one is very small in comparison and does not offer as much in the jjimjilbang (only 1 salt room, 1 clay room, 1 cold room). $50 for entry fee for 3 hours Upon arrival, we made appointments for the body scrub and oil massage to treat my mom and ourselves for my mom's birthday. They give you your 2 towels (1 small for sweating and 1 larger one for showers) along with your uniform in the basket and the wristband with lock to your locker. The common room (both genders) had free various snacks/fruit as well as hot barley tea and lemon water for refreshments, probably to make up for the lack of food court. I'm happy they offered it. The common room also had couches to rest for their guests. Personally, I like to check out the jjimjilbang first and then use the only female hot sauna/steam room and hot tub and then enjoy my service. Some do it the other way around though, just based on preference! I rated it 4 due to cleanliness as there was just a little spots in the bathroom that needed more deep cleaning, other than that they did a great job at cleaning the baskets and trash! I mainly came for the body scrub& oil massage (60mins) which offers a hair wash and collagen facial and cleansing milk. Hanna worked on me and she did amazing!!! They basically flip you over on a massage table like a baby seal and scrub every inch of your body, then they massage you with oil. After the body scrub my body was as soft as a baby's butt HAHA. So smooth and the cleansing milk really rejuvenated my skin and made it feel plump. My facial was so relaxing as well and I love when people play/ wash my hair. I'm pretty used to be nude around my mom and sisters so it's not out of my comfort zone to walk around naked in the female section. I feel like Yu Spa is a great first time Korean spa, for those who want to embrace this relaxing experience. I would definitely recommend coming here, but only for the services as the entry fee is just too expensive to my liking. This place is great to treat a friend or even a family member.

Love coming here! I come 1-3 times a month Just don't recommend getting a scrub in the last 2 hours of them closing. They will rush your scrub & not do as thorough of a job As long as you know this, this place is great

    Can I come with kids?

Please don't. Spas are the one place adults go to relax.

Do you sell e-gift cards? I want to purchase one for someone and send via email

They sell gift cards but I'm pretty sure you have to go in person to purchase them.

How much is admission including common room amenities?

I would recommend calling to get the current rate for when you plan to visit.

Is there a communal hot tub? My boyfriend and I are getting couple massages.

No. But you can use the Clay, Salt & Cold room together. The hot tub, cold bath & steam rooms are separated.

    Is the restaurant closed?

Yes it is. But I believe they allow you to order food to be delivered to the spa to eat in their lounges.

Are masks required in this facility? If so, is it everywhere or certain locatiins/services only?

    Not currently.

Are male and woman separated in spa due to privacy n such since nude!? Also how much for just admission if we choose not to get a service

There is a communal space in the jimjilbang (sauna area) which men and women are robed in the given uniform. Then there are separate men and women's spa areas (changing area, tubs and steam room) which are nude. It's $40 if you want to use the…

Hi Kelly, yes we are open for body scrubs, massages and yoni steam only. Saunas and tubs remain closed until allowed to open by the county. Because of this inconvenience, while these facilities are closed, body scrubs and massages are currently…

Hello! For a dry massage, do we have to be completely naked ? Is there a private room for the dry massage or is it shared with the wet massages. Thank you.

Yes u need to be naked. It's a private room and it's not connected with the wet ones

How much for yani (vaginal) steam?

    $30

How many Tubs are in the men's wet sauna area?

There are 2: a cold plunge pool and a jetted hot tub pool.

I'm coming there for the first time, do I need to bring anything with me? A duffle bag or anything?

Nope they provide you towels and little lounge robe. They have shampoo, conditioner, body gel. You may want to bring fresh underwear after being super clean :)

When is the best time to go? I'm thinking of going around 12 noon on a Monday. Is that a busy time of day?

That's usually a good time as they are busier on Friday to Sunday.

    Between 20-45ish

    Can you stay overnight?

Regarding Who Needs This Place:…read more I have 3 trigger points that are impossible to get other places to hit effectively. Levator, Piriformis, and Lateral Gastrocnemius. All on the right side. This is the ONLY place I've found that was willing to work these. Regarding Some Culture Shock: This is NOT a place for everyone! The culture difference is a bit jarring when it comes to tipping but they are advertising lower prices that seem under the market from my experience. Getting past that made the rest is worth it. Because they were also willing to work on spots other places culturally struggled with. Regard Deep Trigger Points: If you've got some DEEP trigger points and need SINGLE HEAL WITH FULL BODY WEIGHT driven sharply into a single spot to get the trigger point loose then THIS is your place! Tina walked on me for 2 hours. She dug heals into those really hard to hit places that nobody else is even willing to try. Again cultural difference. I've not had a massage this good in DECADES! The funny parts was that she was NOT shy about asking for a larger tip but here is the thing... I've spent more on massages that were nowhere near this effective at breaking a trigger point. So I think these folks are undercharging and I didn't mind paying what I consider "over the top" (based on percentage) for a gratuity. If you go in planning to pay more than they advertise it feels safe to also push them to REALLY dig into those spots that you really need worked! So it was a fare trade IMO. Regarding the Procedure: They cover you in a thin blanket and walk on you (no oils - but seemed like it might be option). There are some roof mounted hand rails for them to keep balanced. Tina complained about how hard it was to work on me (this would probably turn some people away but I think it's a cultural thing - considered unprofessional by American Expectations so it's awkward). She said nobody has ever asked for heals in the calves or glutes before and she pushed for higher gratuity based on how hard she had to work. Here is the catch. I've seen this before but the massage was NEVER this good so I didn't like it. This time? The massage was UNBELIEVABLE. She can complain all she wants at that point. Apparently I'm the only customer they have had that asked for this kind of deep trigger point work. She said most only let them work those spots by by hand, never full body weight with heals. Regardless I'm coming back. Will add this to my monthly routine (Been getting my hair cut at Sunny Day right across the parking lot for the last 20 years). The cultural gratuity weirdness (in this very rare case) was totally worth it.

We did the 90 min which was 100$ but was charged an extra 5$ for using a card. During our massage, our massage therapists chatted and giggled a good amount of our time which was a disappointment as we came in expecting to relax. Towards the half point of our massage, we were freezing after they wiped us down with a towel but didn't dry us off and the AC was on. I was at a point where I felt myself shivering. They supposedly turned the AC off but it did not help. After our massage, we met our massage therapists at the front counter. My friend and I decided to leave a $15 tip each even after our experience. The lady thought we said 50$ and I corrected her and told her 15$ and she seemed offended and stated we should tip more and we should tip 30$ each. I found it ridiculous that we were bargaining over how much we should tip. We settled with 25$ each after feeling pressured and it was already late in the night. At the point we just wanted to get out of there. I enjoy getting massages regularly but I have never been asked to tip more. Due to the over all experience, I personally won't be returning.

They put us in a room together which we didn't ask for, like a couples massage, they just assumed. I asked for the masseuse to be more gentle when she started and I'm not sure if she understood me well because she wasn't that gentle. The worst part was the hot stones. They were too hot for the masseuse the handle but they tried to put them on us anyway. We had to have them remove it on our bill because they were too hot to put them on anybody or anything! They even left burn marks on my back. The spa is also covered in dust, the fish tank is disgustingly filthy, and had a musty smell in the rooms. They also refused to give a refund for the horrible service that was provided. The owner and employees will not take responsibility for their actions and inactions (see the owners response below). I have also updated my pictures with timestamps of the burn in question. I still have the mark 2 weeks later and it didn't show up right away, before we left the spa.
