    Kalbi & Meat Jun Combo
    Chris D.

First time, ordered takeout. Hot and ready in 10 minutes. Got the Kalbi & Meat Jun combo and it didn't disappoint. Kalbi was tender and had good flavor, Meat Jun, although on the thin side, was also VERY tasty. They don't give the option of choice of sides, rather they give whatever they make for the day, which changes daily. I received a combination of 6 different sides, ama they all tasted fresh and homemade. What was new to me was a potato hash and corn salad, it was ONO! This is going to be my go-to Korean restaurant in Waipahu.

So I should have went a lil further into the reviews because I realize now there are new owners and the pictures that are shown are old and so are most of the reviews. This was just ok, no real complaints. Serving size is on the small side and I think for the price you're safer going to Yummy's or Peppa's. My combination plate was 2 piece kalbi and 4 slices meat Jun on a bed of rice with Kim chee, Mac/corn salad, long rice and hot dog chowfun. Unfortunately it missed the mark for me but was ready quickly and served hot. Kalbi was a bit tough and Meat Jun was just ok. Restaurant is take out only and lots of parking. My vote is skip it.

Yujin K-BBQ located Waipahu next to Waipahu Cafe and Far East Chinese restaurant. Heard about them from fellow Yelper's. Yep they were right. Great place for awesome Korean food. The BBQ meats especially the Kalbi are great and sooo tasty . We tried the Kalbi BBQ chicken combo and the Spicy Pork. Both were delicious. The sides were very good, with every plate you get some chop chae, seasoned fishcake, corn Mac salad, and Kimchi. They sure know how to make Kimchi, it ranks up there as one the best. They are so friendly and efficient. Very nice restaurant. It appears that they are going to make an inside dining area next door.

Really enjoyed this spot -- it felt very authentic and Korean. The spicy squid was honestly amazing, packed with flavor and full of umami with just the right kick. Even as someone Korean, this really hit the spot. They have both regular and spicy galbitang, and each has its own flavor -- both were really good. The meat jeon was simple and well done, and the potato corn salad was so good. Everything tasted fresh and well prepared. Easily one of the better Korean spots I've tried. Would definitely come back.

We found a total hidden gem in Waipahu that was open on Christmas evening, and it definitely didn't disappoint! Yujin K-BBQ is a cute little takeout spot that is brightly decorated, extremely clean, and has a very welcoming environment. That's always a great sign that even better things are coming. It was so good that we've already visited twice (once on Christmas and again on New Year's Eve), and everything was cooked to perfection. My other half said this was the best spicy pork he has ever had. It's incredibly flavorful and a must-try. I ordered Kalbi on our second visit to satisfy a craving. It was super yummy with just the perfect amount of char. We also absolutely loved the meat jun and fish jun, those will definitely be our go-to orders from now on! The sides change daily, so it's a fun surprise to see what you get. Everything we tried appealed to all our taste buds, not one complain here. You can tell the staff really takes the time to put some love into their cooking. Since everything comes out super fresh, you do have to wait a little bit for your food, but they provide comfortable seats to wait on, and trust me, it is 100% worth the wait. This has officially become our go-to place whenever we are craving Korean food.

Passed by this place a few time and seen the great reviews. I was a little hesitant about ordering, but I figured we'd try this place out. To my surprise, yes... they do not do any dine in and it's take out only. It's in a busy area in a strip mall so I was surprised to see this restaurant is takeout only. My husband went in to get our order and came back pretty quick. They had our order done in 15 minutes or less. The plating is beautiful, butttt I was seriously shocked to see only 4 skinny pieces of meat Jun! I was sooo disappointed. Everything is put into the plate nicely but if you are looking for a place that offers more food for your buck, this is not the place to go to. Well it's our first time so now we know. With everything going on and my family of 5 that I have to feed... I don't know if we will be back anytime soon! :(

Food reminds me of home-made Korean. Like family food. Really good and warm. Made with love. Not salty at all, too. We came for Mother's Day. The owner helped bring the tray of orders to our car. You can tell she is very kind. Would order from here again!

Takeout Dinner in Waipahu, O'ahu, Hawaii... I saw this Hot New Business on my Yelp app and decided to try it out! Yujin K-BBQ took the place of Korea Foodie at WaipahuShoppingPlaza. There's shared free parking outside and great air conditioning on the inside. Plus, it's clean and looks more spacious because the tables for dine-in are gone. The convenient restroom is still available. Service is efficient and friendly. I had a choice of bulgogi or spicy pork for the Yujin Special. Of course, I chose bulgogi! Everything was delicious and filling! I'll return soon!

Hidden gem in Waipahu! It will definitely be my go to spot whenever I visit home. Their portions are good for what you pay for. The quality of the food was fresh and so ono. The service was amazing. The cashier was super nice and answered a lot of our questions. The place definitely gives hole in the wall type of vibes. There's only 2 tables available to sit at. My brother and I were thankful one of the tables were available because we were so hungry. We shared a single plate with the side of mandoo and we were soo full and content. I'm shocked with how good the food is that there wasn't a line or super busy. But we could've missed all the rush since it was like 3p-4p in the afternoon.

Regular meat jun plate $17 no rice, grated potatoes, pickled cabbage, pickled radish, kim chee, chop chae
    Ruby S.

Free parking. To go only. Cool off in AC, surrounded with K-Pop and soft, comfy chairs while waiting for orders. Got regular size meat jun $17 and kindly asked for no rice. Happy that staff honored our request. Meal includes five sides if you choose no rice or four sides with rice. Sides are automatically given. Don't get to pick and choose. I loved everything about meat jun from texture, not oily, egg mixture held on well, and tasted yummy! Grated potatoes seemed intriguing and super delish! Kim chee and pickled radish tasted fresh and executed the right amount of heat. Pickled cabbage was on point. Chop chae tasted plain so I soaked it in the remaining liquid of kim chee to add more spice. Feel free to check out this spot if you prefer quality over quantity and don't mind having surprise sides.

Back again after 8 months. I was a little surprised to find out they done have the tables out anymore and it's a take-out restaurant. So we adjusted. We still stayed and ordered a BbQ chicken and Spicy Pork combo and a tofu soup. The food was great. My wife kept dipping her rice into the soup, constantly. This never happened before! The soup was big. Full of thinly sliced pork, huge pieces of tofu, and lots of kimchi. Packed full of flavor. The owner was so nice. She was friendly to everyone. Even overheard her trying to teach a customer how to speak Korean. I still recommend the food and service. It's a clean restaurant with lots of chairs for you to sit on while you're waiting.

Food was good, but the lady didn't want us to eat there. I wasn't understanding her at first but while ordering the food she mentioned that if we dine in that we have to eat fast. And she doesn't have enough tables. Which she does have 2 tables. She also said we couldn't connect tables or move chairs around. Very very strange customer service. We did decide to eat there and she stared at us while we ate. Not sure if I want to return so she can rush us out then stare at us while we ate.

MASISSEOYO! Which translates to " it's Delicious!" We cleared our plates & enjoyed every bite. The Kalbi + Meat Jun was very tasty & paired so nicely with the homemade Banchan. I love that this Kalbi had more meat than fat like other places I've been to. The owner gave us the variety of Banchan she had in today since my husband & I came together. Each plate comes with four sides. She was very sweet & eager for us to try the Banchan as I'm sure everything they make is a labor of love! My husband ordered the YukgaeJang if you never had it or want to try it he explained it to be the Korean Birria. Spicy, tasty & the meat was super tender! The veggies and glass noodles were cooked nicely together. The owner said if we like the soup then next time we should try the Kalbitang which comes Mild or Spicy. I did take out but they have tables available for you to dine in. Parking is plentiful -- this shopping plaza gets busy with cars going in and out. Google Maps & Maps (Apple) showed up two different places/locations. If you're familiar with Savers and Max's in Waipahu it's in that shopping plaza but neighboring the Laundromat side of that Plaza. We will definitely be back, the portions & price for two being under $50 (with tip) is such a great deal & it tastes as though it's homemade and not just any take out!

I had driven past Y'kele Korean BBQ and thought that I should give them a try... Located across the street from the outlets, the Waikele Center has many restaurants such as Restaurant Kunio, Panda Express, Subway, Chili's, and McDonald's. There's a lot of free shared parking, but it can get crowded at times. The interior is clean, bright, and air-conditioned. There are many tables and chairs for dining in. Service was pleasant and efficient. I ordered and paid at the counter, then took a seat. In no time my meal was ready. I was so hungry that I took a picture quickly and then started eating. There was so much food that I took the rest home. I got the Y'kele special: BBQ chicken, kalbi, and BBQ beef. It came with four sides. I chose tofu, corn, choi sum and seaweed. Everything was delicious! I'd return because it's convenient, tasty, and satisfying!

After picking his sides, my husband went to sit down at a table while I took care of the payment. Unfortunately, they swiped my bank card multiple times saying it's reading error. They asked if I had cash, which I did, and I was able to pay for our food. Something didn't right with me after I paid so I told my husband to check our bank account and make sure multiple payments wasn't withdrawn from our account. Just as I thought, the payments went through and was deducted from my account. I immediately took my husband's phone up to the counter and showed them my account, verifying that the payments were withdrawn. There was also another customer standing at the counter with the same issue. The cashier was really nice about the whole situation and immediate issued a refund to both myself and the other customer. I ordered the Bi Bim Kook Soo and my husband ordered the Kalbi and BBQ chicken combo plate. The Bi Bim Kook Soo was huge and I couldn't even eat half of it. The BBQ beef was a little tough and not as flavorful as the vegetables. The noodles, sauce and vegetables mixed together were really delicious though. It had a nice sesame flavor to it. My husband had the BBQ chicken and Kalbi mixed plate, and thought it was okay. He said it wasn't as flavorful as it was before. If you eat at this restaurant, please make sure you check your credit card or bank card if you're told there was an error with your payment method.

The owners and their family run the place and in true Filipino hospitality, they served us buffet/family style and entertained us with their stories from their humble beginnings to what they are today. Everything tasted nostalgic because the technique used in cooking each dish tasted like a handed down recipe from a grandma's kitchen from back home in the motherland. If you're ever in the island of Oahu please make your way to Waipahu and sample as much of their offerings as you can and I can guarantee you will not be disappointed! 10/10 recommended coming from a humble cook who rarely raves about Filipino food because I myself learned from my paternal grandmother.

They're located on the corner and once you see a tent & smell bbq, you're at the right spot. This restaurant gave karinderia vibe to it! Karinderia is basically like those food stalls they have in the Philippines, where they have a bunch of dishes and you sit out to enjoy the food. Home cooked & affordable eats. They have everything from bbq sticks, adobo, lechon, kilawan, lumpia and more. I got the bbq stick & chicken inasal plate. The bbq stick was packed with so much flavor! The chicken inasal was more on the huli huli side & was served with Filipino dipping sauce. They also offer free sabaw with your meal. Ordering was a little complicating, they have a menu outside with food and also more food inside. The bbq items were cooked by order and the inside food had more of the Filipino dishes like (adobo). But next to the cashier, you could also find other fried dishes as well. So a little complicated. You also have the option to sit outside under the tent or inside the restaurant with AC. For this type of place, if you're dining in, you order & eat first then pay. Like any karindera. Overall, this place was VERY good & SUPER AFFORDABLE.
