Absolutely delicious! Sad that their last day in business will be this weekend. Swing by if you want one more bite from this place!

This review is solely based on the baked spaghetti. I Used to come here a lot for the baked spaghetti with meat sauce but it looks like they might've changed owners and the recipe. It doesn't taste the same. I don't think I'll ever find a place that makes it like they used to. So sad.

We were craving for good Taiwanese / Chinese food and found this restaurant. We arrived around noon and were seated immediately although it was pretty busy. - baked pork chop on rice: the dish tasted good but the pork chop was thin. - salted fish & chicken fried rice: the portion was very generous for the price. I requested lots of salted fish and they did gave lots of them. - hot milk tea: good, creamy and perfect sweetness

Beef Chow Fun (portions taken out), very tasty

Sadly, they said their last day of operations will be on 1/25/26 after all these years in business, sign posted by door also. They consistently served great, comforting food and will be truly missed.

Oh man, I haven't been to Yummy Cafe in years! I used to come here often for late night eats. My friend and I suddenly remember this existed and wanted HK style diner food so we came to see if it was still good. IT WAS SO GOOD! Everything is made fresh and it was so nostalgic. I loved their baked tomato pork chop over rice. The salt and pepper chicken wings were DELICIOUS as well. I am so happy that I rediscovered this gem, I will definitely be coming back!

This is my go to spot for HK cafe food. Everything is solid, love the Chicken Chow Mein and the Baked Pork Chop Rice. So sad that they aren't open for late night anymore but I keep coming back for more. I AM ALSO EXTREMELY DEPRESSED THAT THEY ARE CLOSING FOREVER.

Got delivery. Mooshi veg. was really good. Only needed more pancakes. Sweet & Sour soup also good, but I ordered mild & it was SPICY, at least for me. Would try again!

Till this day, I still enjoy dinning at Yummy Cafe. There are numerous quality menu items to select from. On this visit, I elected for Mongolian beef. The beef was very tender and flavorful. I love eating this dish with a bowl of steamed white rice. I am already looking forward to my next visit!

Amazing service. We called ahead and order. The food is ready on the table when we walk in. Save time especially when have hungry trip-mate who eats a lot! . Lemon tea is also legit. Beef chow fun is the same if I were to eat in Asia! Must order! Parking is easy. The place is clean. Will come again.

Friendly staff. Food is hit and miss. Salted fish chicken fried rice: 2.5/5. Bland. Not enough salted fish bits. Hey, at least it was warm this time! Scrambled egg & seafood chow fun: 3/5. The chow fun was good. Not stingy on the seafood. But the sauce was a bit disappointing. Wonton noodle soup: 4/5. The wonton tasted good, but the shrimp was a bit small. Noodle was perfect. The soup was also good. Mango pudding: 4/5. For only $2.50, it's a must have. It has also mango jelly and mango bits. Egg puff: 4/5. Great taste. Sweet, but not too sweet. The only complain: it wasn't crispy enough on the outside. Mango sago: 3/5. The tapioca was too hard. Undercooked? Borscht soup: 3/5. Full of ingredients. When it came out, you could smell the flagrance! Unfortunately, it lacked a bit of taste. Not sweet and sour enough.

Coconut with tapioca - you get the option of hot or cold. Missing carnation milk.

It was our first time dining here and we really enjoyed the food. Ordered the family special, 3 entrees plus free soup. Flavor was good and salt n pepper ribs are delicious! Fried pig intestines is a must! You get 5% off when pay with cash. This place deserves more recognition! We'll definitely be coming back!

love the ladies over there! Super friendly and great services. The food is yummy too. Price is in the medium range. And who wouldn't know about their iconic yellow/orange ish tables hahaha

Been about 10 years since I eaten here. I think this used to be Yummy Guide. The food was just ok. Pricing has gone up for smaller and less quality dishes. $15 for salt n pepper tofu was a bit on the high end for this low cost ingredient appetizer. The beef crispy noodles was seasoned well. The pork rib stir fried eggplants were missing black beans as described. I was more excited to see Mango Sago as a dessert, but turns out all they did was made frozen mango smoothie and poured it in a bowl and added some sago to it. It tasted nothing like the Chinese dessert I was used to. And the black sesame dumpling soup completely lack sweetness. This was not one of my best experiences here as far as food taste, and desserts. The staff was friendly and sweet.

It wasn't too long after we put our name on the list, that we were called in to be seated. This has a nice welcoming touch of elegance, from entrance designs, lighting and seating arrangements. I have to say, their food is quite tasty and we really enjoyed their lovely venue. Since we live out of the area, this will be our go to place for dimsum every time we're in the Sacramento area. It really is quite an experience. I highly recommend you come try it for yourselves. Thank you fellow Yelpers for helping us find this place.

The AI said it was top rated, and we had never been. By 7pm the dining room was busy, many of the parties Asian We ordered a pot of tea, crispy pork, potstickers, roast duck, honey bbq pork and the house noodle dish Yue Huang Chow Fun which had shrimp and chicken. THE PROS: Nice sit down restaurant decor. Large tables and cushy upholstered chairs. Not a strip mall cubicle. They have actually been awarded Michelin Honors three times. Portions were good sized, and flavors were nice. THE CONS: Unfortunately, we were underwhelmed by everything. All of the dishes arrived just warm. Staff never checked on us - not once - until we asked for some to-go boxes. They have two large tvs in the dining room, showing a loop of the restaurant I'm currently sitting in. The music in the dining area must have been on "Slow Girl Ballad" station on Spotify's free tier- as we honestly listed to a 10 min Samsung commercial in between songs - and not at a low volume. BOTTOM LINE: Maybe we were the exception- as there were clearly enough patrons to show it is a popular - but nothing about our experience made us want to come again. I guess we didn't see what the Michelin people saw. PRICE: $80

A great spot for a solid Chinese meal--and surprisingly, an amazing banana cream pie!…read more The service was friendly overall, although our table wasn't checked on very often since it was so busy. That said, the food more than made up for it. Our favorite dish by far was the Spicy Calamari with Basil. It's something I'd absolutely come back for--the calamari was tender with a great texture, and the sweet, savory flavors paired perfectly with everything else we ordered. The Garlic Chili Green Beans were another standout. They had great flavor and still retained a nice crunch instead of being overly soft, giving them the perfect stir-fried texture. The Vegetable Chow Fun (with beef added) was decent but a little dry for my taste, so it's probably not something I'd order again. By the end of the meal we were completely stuffed, but we couldn't resist trying the banana cream pie. It looked huge when it arrived, and we honestly didn't think we'd finish it--but it was so delicious that we ended up eating the whole thing. Definitely don't skip dessert! I also appreciated that when I asked for hot sauce, they brought out several different options to try, including what seemed like a garlic chili sauce, chili crisp, hot mustard, and sweet and sour sauce. It was a fun touch that let us customize each bite. The restaurant also has a lot of history and character. We walked in casually without realizing it was a more upscale sit-down restaurant, but it ended up being one of the highlights of our day. If you go, the Spicy Calamari with Basil and the banana cream pie are absolute must-orders!

My goal is to come here during dine downtown week in January to try that menu since I hear it's worth it. For parking, it's either street parking or you can do valet parking in the garage right next door. There is no self parking in the garage. Street parking is self parking. The restaurant itself is like a long, large hallway. When you walk in, your greeted by the host desk. Then you walk towards the back and pass a bunch of booths, tables and the bar area to the right. It's built like a Craftsman style layout. When I was here recently, it was for a friend's birthday and there was a group of 10+ of us. They only do family style food so our group was split into 2 tables and each table ordered their own entrees and meals to eat family style. I was at a table of perks I had just met that night, but we had no issues sharing plates. This may not be for everyone, do you can still order your own entrees, but there won't be much variety if you don't have a lot of people. The food was good. We ordered wallet shrimp, Buddha's delight, the curry noodles/chow mein, garlic green beans and chicken chow mein. All three good was good. I would say it's above average and comparable to Din Tai Fung, but a bit cheaper. I liked the walnut shrimp, garlic green beans and buddhas delight. Service was decent. It could've been better, but could've been worse. Overall, we enjoyed our meal. I'll be back when dine downtown rolls around.

The noodles are really filling, and the dishes we got would be enough food for 2-4 people depending on how hungry you are. We ate the rice rolls right away and then had leftover green beans and beef and mushrooms for lunch today. The green beans were fresh and had a great garlic flavor, without it being too much. The Beef and Mushrooms was great, the beef was tender and flavorful and the mushrooms soaked up all the sauce. There were also green beans in this dish, which was a perfect addition. We had only 4 people in our party, so they didn't initially provide us with the menu for larger family set meals, so we had to ask for it. We went for set A which serves 4-6 people. This set included the following: Soup of the day: Simple vegetable soup with some pork/beef in it. Peking spare ribs: Deep fried spare ribs with a sweet sort of sauce. This was a bit saucier than my liking. Not my favorite dish. Empress chicken (half): This was done very well, cooked perfectly. Came with ginger scallion oil. Pan fried sole: Classic, freshly deep fried, with a soy sauce based sauce. Mixed mushroom beef: Beef was tender, dish was seasoned well. Had a good balance of protein and vegetables. Seasonal vegetables and garlic: Simple, but delicious and a generous amount of vegetables. We also ordered mushroom with salted egg yolk from the Chef's Specials menu and it was delicious! This dish was very generous in size. There were pieces of fried beech (or seafood) mushroom in salted egg yolk batter. Seemed like there was at least two grocery store containers worth of mushrooms, if you've ever seen them in the Asian grocery store. This was almost like a snack, and went so well with white rice itself. They offered a complimentary dessert but it was very plain. It was straight up herbal/grass jelly with a sweet syrup. Service was standard for an Asian restaurant. The restaurant is pretty big compared to what you might see on the outside. The restaurant was acceptably clean. We sat by the window, and although it was covered, the sun was basically still shining on us, so it was really warm sitting there. Overall, I would highly recommend if you're looking for authentic Chinese food.
