Walking in it was lively in the bar area because they were having a trivia night where you can win gift cards. They also have other daily events and happy hours which was great to know. We were immediately seated and our server arrived a few minutes later which was nice bc it gave us time to peek at the menu which is extensive but it was really fun because it's an actual little newspaper which was cute. We ordered the crab dip and a mango martini for me and a blood orange margarita for him of which all three were really good! So much crab dip that we took 1/2 home. And the bread and veggies they serve it with both hit! Entree wise we both ordered items we felt would tell us all we needed to know regarding whether or not they were a legit seafood restaurant - a fried shrimp basket and a broiled combo platter .... BOTH AMAZING! The fried shrimp were MASSIVE and the broiled platter was well seasoned and cooked wonderfully. We had no room for dessert but the menu sounded great. Oh our server was also wonderful! I wish I remembered her name, but she was a tall, blonde young lady with a great sense of humor. So glad our original dinner plans fell through and we finally wound up here - we will be back!

I asked the server to help me choose, and she recommended the baked cod with ritz cracker crust. I remember having this type of preparation at Charlie Brown's back in the day, which was formerly in this space. we chose salads & baked potatoes as our sides, and the salads were substantial and fresh.warm rolls with butter came alongside. after a nice interval, entrees arrived piping hot and the baked potatoes were perfect. my husband got seafood au gratin which was delectable. my cod was delicious- buttery crispy topping and succulent fish. we were too full for dessert but they looked good. service was efficient and helpful, even with a busy room.

I'll start off by saying that I truly want to give them a 3 1/2 star review, but since we know that…read morecan't happen I have to go with 3 stars because it wasn't close enough to a 4 star review. People love this place ... I say that because we were there late afternoon during the week and it was busy ... and it kept getting busier. I do understand why folks love it tho, because there's no other real seafood "shack" in the area specifically where folks can get their blue claw crabs. It truly does look and feel like a seafood shack because the wooden walls, brown paper on the table, paper towels on the table and overall decor scream "We are at the beach in a small southern town in the middle of nowhere where" lol Our server was great! She was very attentive and made recommendations... she was also very patient with us given that this was our first time here and we're a bit undecided on what we wanted to order. Now on to the food - this is honestly where I was underwhelmed. The broiled seafood had a whisper of flavor, the crab cake left a lot to be desired and the garlic buffalo shrimp were overwhelmingly buffalo sauce on top of fried shrimp. Now the clam chowder I had was amazing and I even ordered some to go. My friend enjoyed her crab legs meal overall and perhaps if we visit again that's the route I'll go. Oh and it's also a BYOB , so, be sure to grab your favorite bottle and bring it on in.

Our server was great, but I will say that we didn't see her much. Because we had our own drinks, I guess there wasn't a need to check in too much. Food breakdown below: Six blue crabs: BOMB. Well seasoned and dirty. But needed old bay lol. Probs should've asked but it's fine. Cajun shrimp deviled eggs: I would pass on these in the future. The shrimp, themselves, had good flavor. The egg filling was very bland. Mussels: I actually came across a lot of mussels that were empty. That said, the flavor was really good. Buffalo garlic shrimp: these were probably the weakest link. They were basic AF and while it's hard to mess up the flavor of buffalo sauce, you couldn't taste the garlic at all. Additionally, the texture of the coding was off, and the shrimp tasted overcooked. They were served with fries and those weren't very good either. Also, they do not have good ranch, for the record. In all, what I can absolutely tell you is that we will be back. We love crabs and for the amount of crabs and the flavor we got here, we would probably spend far more in a place like Baltimore. In total, I think we spent somewhere between 110 to 120. Not bad.

There is a to go area, bathroom, and then indoor seating area. They have merchandise behind the register. Started with the tuna nachos and crab rangoon mozzarella sticks. Tuna was good quality and had a good coating of sesame seeds. My perfect bite was tuna, orange sauce, seaweed, tomato, & onion. The chips were perfectly crispy. The crab rangoon was surprisingly good. This appetizer is what made me pick this place. Such a good combination. Didn't need the marinera sauce. Next up soups. Lobster bisque was ok. I guess I was expecting it to be a little more rich. But it was good, it tasted exactly like lobster and I got good chunks in the soup too. Now the shrimp and corn chowder was super flavorful. Favorite dish of the meal. For mains, cold lobster roll and two tails w butter and side salad. Side salad was well dressed and I appreciate the ribbons of Parmesan. The lobster was mostly cooked right. There was one that was a bit chewy. Added salt and butter but felt like something was missing still. I couldn't find a good combo of toppings to go with the lobster. The cold lobster roll was alright. The potato bread added a good sweet flavor that complimented the lobster. Overall a decent meal.

Honestly, it was way too much food for two people, but I wanted to sample everything and I'm glad I did. The seafood was fresh, meaty, and perfectly cooked. Their special sauce was the star of the show rich, garlicky, and at the mild spicy level it had just enough kick to keep every bite exciting without overwhelming the natural sweetness of the seafood. Dipping crab legs into that sauce was pure happiness. The garlic noodles deserve a shoutout too: savory, buttery, and the perfect companion to all the seafood richness. Inside, it's a decent place to meet with friends--spacious, comfortable, and surprisingly you're not walking out smelling like seafood. Service was spot-on, friendly and attentive the whole way through. I enjoyed a cold beer and a mixed drink alongside the meal, and they paired perfectly with all the seafood. Prices aren't bad for what you're getting--seafood is always on the pricier side, but the freshness and portions here make it worthwhile. It could definitely have been split so he lied.second of all it was a little gritty and not as clean as I would like, the bathrooms were disgusting. The corn on my platter was old and inedible. The clams were rubbery and tough. You do go to the counter to get your food yourself, but I figured they would clear the table for us, especially since I tipped them $10 but as I was walking out the door, the counter guy yelled at me." hey you need to throw away your trash!" it was very embarrassing, and I had neatly piled my plates and trash so that it was an easy cleanup and I figured they would have to wipe the table anyway, but now knowing how nasty it is in there, they probably don't wipe the tables. I do not recommend nor will I ever go here again. To top it all off I spent more time in the bathroom afterwards than I would like.

Shortly after entering this establishment, I realized I had dinner in this building before, but the last time was several years ago (was Naples Pizza & Pasta back then, in 2018). Everything had changed, decor was simple and rustic now. Anyway, we ordered lunch. Conversation between us was strained because the music was a bit loud (albeit, it was a decent genre, 70's & 80's Rock). It took a while for the meals to arrive to our table, even though only one other table was occupied at that time in the restaurant. Our waiter was a bit inattentive also (or maybe inexperienced ?). I had to get up to ask him for some plates for our mozzarella stick appetizer, some ice in my wife's Iced Tea, a bottle of ketchup for my Mother In Law's French fries, and the coleslaw that was suppose to come with my Mother In Law's meal. Food was alright though, not great, but not horrible either. I don't agree with the 4 & 5 Star reviews for this place though, maybe breakfast is better, but that certainly wasn't what I experienced yesterday during our lunch. I imagine I still might be back someday, because it's close to where my Mother In Law lives and there really isn't a lot of choices nearby. A weak 3 Star Rating for now, I'll write an updated review when we return for breakfast sometime.
