Let's start with the warm service from the moment you walk in. Burgers and Persian dishes, can't ask for more! The combo dishes with beef and chicken kabobs are the best dishes to order. The side salad is more like a full salad. With a tasty side dressing. The chicken was tender and juicy, the beef was tender and flavorful. Even the rice had a delicious buttery flavor. The only aspect to improve is the onion and tomato that comes with the combo. Could be grilled a bit longer. Next, the crepes! Ripe bananas, sweet strawberries. Warm and soft with plenty of Nutella on top. I also order a double cheeseburger to go with a small fry. The burger was tasty, plenty of fries too. Lastly, plenty of tables and relaxing background music. Can't wait to go back and try the baklava.

I usually stop by and get chicken nuggets from Z Burger, they're always fresh and juicy made with real chicken. They come in 6, excuse my picture i was showing a friend after i ate 2 lol Later this day, Dined in after work, with a friend and the food was really good, staff is always nice. It was quiet on a Wednesday night. The Pomegranate juice was refreshing. Decor is very lively. Its an overall attractive combo establishment.

Clean bright and interesting combo. My daughter and I went for the kabobs but I wish I could try the burgers too. I got the Koobideh kabob with salad and my daughter got the salmon with rice. Also tried the Kashik o bademjan appetizer- eggplant with spices. It was chunky tasty and I loved it warmed up. They served our kabob orders with pita and chick peas. The koobideh was generous and I couldn't finish all of it. Friendly staff. Definitely coming back!

I tried Maman Joon Kabob/ Z Burger and loved it! I got the delicious Maman Joon Combo 1 with chicken kabob and ground beef koobideh. It also comes with rice, bread and the essential sauces. The customer service here is amazing and super hospitable. They personally bring your carry out order to you instead of yelling your name, and they even have free tea while you wait! Tip: if you dine in, you get free chickpeas (otherwise it's $5.50 extra for carry-out but still worth it, has a nice sweet cinnamon taste)

I went here on a late night. I've been here once or twice before. They have a vast menu offering so many things from burgers to kebabs to crepes. Service is fairly quick no matter what time you order and no matter what food you order. Usually i've gone later at night and it hasn't been super busy and it's usually been quieter. The ambiance is a little more chill. When it comes to the food I don't think it tastes bad but I'd say it's pretty average. There's nothing super amazing about the food and because of that I feel like it is a little pricey. I would honestly prefer to get a chenjeh with rice somewhere else just because I don't think the price matches the portion elsewhere. The actual meat isn't as juicy as other places either. The milkshake are great though! It's good in a pinch or for a late night bite but this wouldn't be my first choice.

I had a very discouraging experience at Maman Joon that I would like to share to discourage anyone from patronizing this business who wants to be treated fairly. I love a good kabob and rice plate, and I had been wanting to try this place for a long time! I came on a Sunday evening and ordered a family platter to take home and share. The meal is listed as $59.99 on the menu, which is pretty pricey but not outrageous for the DMV. So imagine my shock when I was charged $69.99. That's almost 20% more than what's listed? I pointed this out to the cashier, who told me that the prices had recently changed and there's nothing he could do. His plan was to say nothing to me and... hope that I wouldn't notice? The price on his wall was wrong--that's a fault of the establishment, not of me. To say that there's nothing they could do except update the menus sometime in the future is extremely disrespectful. And the fact that they didn't even disclose it is EXTREMELY shady and rude. This is deceptive at best and criminal at worst. The food is fine--the chicken kabob honestly rocked--but how could I ever in good faith recommend this business? Also, the milkshake was really bad. I got a Krispy Kreme flavor that tasted like artificial banana. There was so much ice in the shake as well. What a let down.

    Bacon Philly cheesesteak

Z Burger in Olney - Cheesesteak Cravings Satisfied So, I was craving a cheesesteak (again), and Z Burger in Olney came through. I ordered the 8" Bacon Philly Cheesesteak with hot peppers, no tomatoes, and everything else loaded on. Jasmine went for the Lettuce Wrap Burger with jalapeños. To round it out, we shared some crispy onion rings. Total came to $29.54 -- not bad for a solid meal. The cheesesteak? Exactly what I wanted. The bacon added a nice crunch, the hot peppers gave it some heat, and the meat-to-cheese ratio was spot on. I'm realizing more and more that I love cheesesteaks where you can really taste both the meat and the cheese, and this one nailed it. Jasmine's lettuce wrap burger looked pretty fresh too, and she gave it the thumbs-up. The staff here is super friendly, and even though we came around 2 PM on a Sunday, it's great knowing they're open late. Most nights they're open till midnight, and on Fridays and Saturdays, they're open until 2 AM. Perfect for those late-night cravings. If you're a cheesesteak lover like me or just need a reliable spot for a burger fix, Z Burger is definitely worth checking out. I'm already planning my next visit!

After coming to this joint location several times for both dine in and take out, I can confidently give it a five star for the food, service and value. So far we have tried lamb skewers, chicken skewers, beef steak skewers, regular burger, bacon double cheeseburger, fries, sautéed eggplants, crepes, yogurt drinks, and tea, here is our conclusion. Sautéed eggplants, just ok. Original yogurt drink, not bad, milky and not sweet. The skewers are delicious, every single one was good. The burgers were juicy. Watched out for the fries, all you need is ONE , the size of the fries is huge, shareable for the entire table. Strawberry crepes with drizzled chocolate was fantastic. Inside the restaurant is spacious and clean, can get crowded at times. Private parking lot. Highly recommend this spot for its great value, fantastic selection of food and friendly, efficient service. IG@WineDinenVacay

Great, very authentic Persian restaurant. I've been looking for a kabob place that serves chicken and kobideh in this original style for a long time and I think I've found it here. The food is very well priced for the portions and it was delicious. The restaurant is also a half burger place which I ended up getting 1/2 fries and 1/2 onion rings from which also ended up being great. They cut their own fries and the portions were huge, they reminded me of Five Guys fries. I will definitely be coming back here again.

    Turkey burger with everything.

Looked on Yelp for a place to eat after an evening show at the Olney Theater. Glad we came. I had a turkey burger ($9.39) (toppings included - got mine with everything) and side of fries ($4.99). My partner got the chicken kabob ($15.99) with salad. Everything was good. To be honest, the burger and fries were essentially like a Five Guys situation. Huge portion of fries (I got a small) - basically threw out over half the fries. The burger was well prepared and the toppings were good, but, as I said, if I were blindfolded and ate the burger and fries, I would have assumed I was in Five Guys. My partner enjoyed the chicken kabob. I tasted the chicken and agree that the chicken was moist and seasoned pretty well. The Kabob included a large salad, which was fresh and tasty. The place seems a bit pricy to me, but then again, so is Five Guys. I think I would stay away from the burger if we go again and try a cheesesteak or kabob or other item on the menu. One thing I liked about the place is the eclectic clientele there on a random Friday night after 10:00 pm. Families, sports teams, high school kids, young adults, a table of police officers. It reminded me of the diversity you usually see at a diner. Very friendly, comfortable place.

I was excited to try this new place based on what I read about the DC location. This shop shares a location with Z burger (like a combination KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell) and all the workers and clients are over there. That's the first clue this might not be ideal. So it took awhile to get an employee to grab my take out order, cause of the Z burger thing. Three stars are for just the koobideh, that was moist, perfectly cooked and delicious. The rest lacked. I eat a low sodium diet only cause I don't really like a lot of salt and I can't believe I'm saying this, but please dear God add some salt to the rice. This is probably the worst soggy rice I've ever had and it has the color of saffron, but absolutely zero flavor. Please call your maman joon for a recipe. Salmon kabobs was a tiny portion but had good spice. Baklava was super dry. It would have if they sumac to go with the kabobs. I hope things pick up and the food is improved, I don't see myself going back in the near future.

This is my favorite Persian kabob restaurant. Opening up so close to my home I love to get here few times in a month. Such great food and I love their kabobs. The staff is very friendly and always welcoming. This place is open until midnight so it's great for all those nocturnal hungry animals in the night

When you walk in, you get the feeling that this is a place that has been around for a while. The bar is a nice size and is the first thing you see when you walk in. There are lots of booths throughout the restaurant, along with a large circular booth in the back. We were seated in an area where they had tables put together for the group from the service. Because we were there with the group, we were given a smaller menu with a limited selection rather than the restaurant's regular menu. I did get a chance to look around when I went to the restroom, and there were quite a few people eating. I noticed several people had ordered the fried chicken, and it looked really good. If we are ever back in the area, that's definitely something I'd like to try. My wife had a pasta dish with vegetables, and I ordered the Olney Grill Sandwich, which had ham, turkey, tomato and American cheese, grilled and served with potato salad. The sandwich was okay. I didn't have my glasses with me, so I couldn't read the menu very well. I don't care for American cheese, otherwise I probably would have ordered something different. My favorite is hot pastrami, and I would have ordered that, but the menu said it came on rye bread. My brother-in-law ordered it, and he said it actually came on pumpernickel. Overall, the service was great. The gentleman taking care of our group did an excellent job. I don't think anyone had to ask him for anything--or at least very rarely. He kept everything moving and made sure everyone was taken care of. We didn't get to experience the full regular menu because of the limited menu offered to our group, but from what I saw, the restaurant had a good number of people dining and the food coming out looked very good. If you're ever in the Olney area, I'd definitely recommend stopping in and giving Olney Grill a try.

We started with the Grand Caviar tasting, which was the most expensive caviar option on the menu. For the price, I expected much more. The caviar was extremely salty, to the point where it felt like additional salt had been added on top. The tasting included three varieties of caviar. The caviar they used on one was the exact caviar they used in sushi. Our second appetizer, the tuna dish, was significantly better. While the presentation could have been more refined and visually appealing, the flavor exceeded expectations and was one of the stronger dishes we tried. For my entrée, I ordered the branzino. The fish itself was decent, but def not crispy but it was salty. The sauce was salty and the fish was salty making the entire plate feel like salt layered upon salt. Additionally, the skin was advertised as crispy, but it lacked the crisp texture I was expecting. My husband ordered the rainbow trout stuffed with crab. It was enjoyable and probably the most balanced entrée of the evening, though it wasn't particularly memorable. For sides, I ordered the wild mushrooms, and my husband chose the risotto. The risotto had good flavor but seemed slightly undercooked. The mushroom side was also on the salty side, and despite being described as "wild mushrooms," it consisted primarily of portobello mushroom.

I decided to get the fried artichokes for myself. I thought they were delicious... just one slight issue. I noticed that on a good deal of the artichoke hearts, the choke wasn't completely removed. Now... the choke (hairy little inside portion) is called the choke for a reason. That being said, there wasn't too too much of it and I just kinda cut most of it off with my spoon as it was fried and fairly easy to remove. The aioli that it was served with was quite good. I also got to try the brussel sprouts which were quite delicious, if not a bit heavy handedly sauced. It was definitely clear the brussel sprouts would have been very crispy if the sauce were added, tossed, and then strained. I also did get to try the poutine which ignited a debate with my friend about what type of cheese goes onto a traditional poutine, in which I clearly told him and can clearly tell you - he was wrong lol. Traditionally poutine is served with whole cheese curds. He was trying to argue that it was not and that they wouldn't melt from the heat of the fries and gravy. He is wrong. Argument handled lol. What I found interesting about the poutine that my friend got at Flipside was that the cheese curds were fried. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that! They're taking a different approach to a traditional poutine, but if it were me, I'd opt for unfried to create a bit more of a balance between the fries and the rest of the dish. That said, the fries and gravy were quite good! The chicken sandwich that my friend got looked amazing. I didn't get to taste it, as it's weird to ask for a bite of someone's sandwich, but it looks REAL tasty and he expressed it was. Overall, a few slight technical issues which I think Flipside could work out (really the brussel sprouts and the artichokes), but overall the flavors presented are on point. I don't include the cheese curd debate in the technical issues because that's a total preference and creative freedom issue. Hey, if you like fried on top of fried, those fries are for you - all puns intended. The only other thing I'd like to leave as constructive criticism is to say, I'd love to see 1 healthier option on the menu if possible. Everything seems to be fried, and I'd love to see a little something for those who'd like something a little lighter. Overall, great little food truck/trailer though.

My hubby and I came earlier this week on Tuesday and they were closed (normally not) so we made another trip out today. I made reservations at the recommendation of a staff when I called to confirm their business hours. He said it's hard to predict if they would be busy or not. Upon arriving at 5:30, there were plenty of available tables even though the restaurant is small. We were told we could sit anywhere so we sat at one of the two communal high top tables. Bar and patio seating is also available. My hubby's order included an orange crush, Mangers Irish Cider, malted everything pretzel (app) and pierogi as his entree. I ordered the fish & chips since it got good reviews on yelp. Sadly we were not impressed with our food with the exception of the pierogi, which we both agreed was the best tasting out of everything we ordered. The pretzel was average although the added beer cheese (extra $1) was good. The menu said the fish & chips came with a side of spicy slaw and side of tartar. It came with neither. I didn't realize until coming home and looking at a photo of the menu that it came with slaw. I did ask for the tartar sauce. The fish was bland and needed seasoning or at least salt and pepper, which I asked for. I did like the batter which was crispy. I am not sure why other reviewers raved about the fish. Could it be a new cook? The rosemary parmesan fries had good flavor, but were too soggy. If they were cooked longer and came out crispy, they would have had potential. I'm assuming the kitchen was slow as it took awhile to bring out our order. Our server was friendly and came by one or twice to check on us and to clear our table.
