We worked with EDR to completely remodel a duplex into a single family home that hadn't been…read moretouched in 60 years. Eddie and Sarmad did a fantastic job in delivering the project. From the start of the design project, they used high quality sub contractors for design, engineering, and all the trades in the house. Fernando, our project manager was incredible. He approached the project with a keen eye for details and took total ownership over the sub contractors. He would stop by almost every night to ensure that the subs were performing their work and not leaving or damaging any other contractors' work. Sarmad is a problem solver. He sees an issue and thinks through how to solve it, then presents clear options to choose from. Throughout the process, we were not surprised by unanticipated expenses - all changes were clearly explained and we had the option to make changes via clear change orders. EDR uses Buildertrend for all program management and billing, which made payments, change approvals, and scheduling tracking seamless. While this sounds like a basic requirement in 2026, not all contractors use these services which just adds friction to the process. We couldn't recommend EDR more for the quality of work on our house, the schedule execution, care for detail, and just taking care of our project. Along the way, we never felt nickel & dimed, and the value of their services definitely exceeded our expectations.

The project managers that we had worked with were Tony, Issac and Amit. The experiences that we had with the team were exceptional, Tony and his team leads were very professional, patient, attentive to details, and transparent to the cost. They were excellent in communications and never delay responding to our messages, usually within a few minutes or within hours for any questions that we ask at any time of the day. In terms of services, they are like one stop shop that includes almost everything that we need from a contractor for remodeling so it really saved a lot of our time from talking with different people for different phases of the remodel. Their team has the architect who started with the floor plan with us, with a lot of back and forth discussions and our inputs taken into considerations. After we agreed and finalized the plan, they submitted it to the city for the permit. Since the architects and the construction team are under the same leadership of NuHome, in our case, Tony, this saves a lot of later potential integration problems between the architectural plans and the executions of the construction. During the construction, there were a few times that we changed our plans, for example, changing the size of the closet and pantry, Tony and the team were accommodating it; and in the middle of the construction, we were also changing the type and the number of outlets and the spot lights, Tony and the team were also incorporated that as well. We also had changed the plan for the TV ascent wall, and the team were fully in corporation and working with for the change, which turned out to be beautiful. Another area that really pleased and benefit us was NuHome has excellent interior designer who had worked with us closely in designing the bathrooms, and helping us picking up the right materials that worked perfectly for us, this saved us so much potential headache as we pretty much knew nothing in this field. The three bathroom designs turned out beautifully and exceeded our expectations. We would definitely attribute this to the team deep dedication of putting customers' need first, in addition to the construction team's skill set. The team has made sure to take care of our need from the very beginning to the end of the project, for little things like making sure we have the new lock after the whole project is done is even within their considerations, so we are moving into our new home feeling happy, comfortable and safe. What was going on and what was happening if I had any concerns, he addressed them immediately and make sure that they met my expectations. I would use Wise Builders again and I would request Marc to be my project manager again on any future jobs that I had. He worked really well with our designer Jocelyn, I appreciated having a designer. Having a designer to bounce ideas off have her expertise on fixtures and toilets was amazing. Jocelyn did an excellent job working with me and when my daughter had some changes to this design, she was very receptive to those changes and helped me update the changes in our design The only thing that could have been better is, if the tile supplier had communicated with Marc that the tile for the guest shower floor was backlogged. Marc worked really hard to expedite the tile and was in communication with me along that process. In order to give us options besides waiting for the tile, Jocelyn, our designer gave us an alternative tile. Looking at the tile floor now I like it better than what I had originally chosen. I have done other remodeling projects and I would have to say that working with Marc has probably been one of the easiest remodeling projects that I have done. I appreciated that I did not have to be so hands-on in the project because I trusted that Marc would get it done.

He created a WhatsApp chat with me and the incredible designer Jocelyn. They were both consistently responsive to any of my questions or concerns -- and opened my mind to design options. Jocelyn spent time in our home, drafted plans, took me shopping, and sourced all the fixtures. From her spreadsheet I was able to find less expensive options for some items. I appreciated the input and control I had on these expenses. Since we needed to move out, I had a tight timeline for the project -- mid October until Thanksgiving. Marc and the team did their best despite City of San Jose delays with inspections. We were able to move back in before the final inspection. Every member of the team was kind and courteous. Marc also did a great job working with the window vendor that specializes in older homes. I'm rating the experience a 4.5 out of 5 for two reasons. I was disappointed that the medicine cabinet, switch plates, and hooks were initially installed unevenly (it was corrected). I expected more attention to detail. And I was disappointed in the wear & tear that happened on my wood floors as well as the overall dust in my dining room. I was warned that things would get dusty -- but didn't understand the extent and would have packed away more things. WISE offers lots of support with design -- they could also offer as part of their package a full cleaning! I offer this feedback to help others calibrate their expectations. Overall it was a positive experience. I waited several months to post this review until I returned from travel and could see how things were settling after regular use.
