I'm from out of town and was excited to go in for some brunch after doing the incline. Greetings and seating were normal, and drinks came normally as well. There were many options for brunch that sounded amazing. After a recommendation from our waiter, I decided on the spicy sandwich without onions. The food took quite a while but no big deal as you never know how busy the kitchen is. Our drinks were never refilled until the food came out 40 minutes after arriving. All the food came out at the same time, mine being last. The tater tots were cold in the center, and my sandwich was cold and had a massive amount of onions, no eggs or jalapeños and no hollandaise sauce. I was so hungry by the time it got there I ate a portion and just got the rest to go so I could heat it up later to eat it like it was supposed to be brought to me. Most of the other food was brought out warm and tasted ok (2 kids pizza, kids spaghetti and meatballs, Belgian waffles, and a hot italian sandwich) the other sandwich was also not warm. This place is amazing!!! We tried the risotto, pizza and gnocchi. All were delicious and fresh. The pizza crust is made on-site and you can taste the greatness. The pesto will leave you wanting more. Skip the Italian hoagie as that is ok. Outstanding service!!!! read more

Came in for Father's Day. We've been here a number of times over the past couple years and the food has always been pretty good. The food and service yesterday fell very short of our past experiences though. We walked in and we're able to grab a table but looking around you could tell they were short staffed. Most of the tables hadn't been bussed and it seemed like prior patrons had left a lot of uneaten food on their plates. Service was lacking, I wanted to order a beer but never saw the server until they dropped the food off and they were gone! My wife ordered eggs benedict and the sauce was congealed. The potatoes were cold and soggy too. I had the sausage sandwich which was fine, bread was a bit stale but the tater tots were ice cold. Might be a while till we try it again read more

This review is for the service which should be 1-2 stars, but since we never got food or drink, we can't comment and don't want to rate too low. We sat at a booth for 15 minutes before the manager told the waitress to come over to us. After ordering, we sat and waited with empty water glasses for 35 minutes- no one ever came by and we felt completely forgotten about. That is when we decided to leave- we politely informed the manager, and left. The restaurant wasn't busy and we were very disappointed as this was to be our sons birthday dinner UPDATE: We went back and had a wonderful experience. We laughed because we were sat in the same booth, but the experience couldn't have been more different. Pizza was wonderful and the wait staff couldn't have been better. Was going to order dessert but since the dinner was so disappointing we decided to skip it. I'm conflicted. The first time I went the waiter brought a pizza over to us with the wrong ingredients. At the time I was vegetarian and the pizza had pepperoni on it. When I told the waitress it was wrong she tried to gaslight us and say that we were the ones who asked for it. Yeah nooo.... A vegetarian would know better than to ask for meat. Didn't say sorry or anything. The second time I went was a little better. We went for lunch and I really enjoyed the spaghetti. The pizza was a let down (was better last time). On the bright side the waitress brought two slices of pizza since the kitchen staff fully acknowledged the first slice was too small ( it really was). The problem was the crust was rock hard and brittle. I have never had a pizza crust that crunchy before, even when I leave the frozen ones from the store in the oven for too long. No heated outdoor seating as advertised. Hostesses are dim and completely useless. Our to go order took 40 mins, which they did not inform me of until after I had paid. They are not attentive to their "to go pickup window" alert button, or the window itself. Update (Chris, pay attention.....): We received our gift card 7 days ago and decided to try you guys out again last Sunday afternoon. We sat in the booths next to the kitchen and had some really tasty beef sliders and pizza. Much better than the crap we had as takeaway previously. But, here is where it got bad........ As we were watching food go out to other customers at the pass, we saw one of the servers knock off a serving spatula from the countertop beneath the pass, where it landed on the floor. The server picked it up and looked at the lady next him, they both shrugged their shoulders and then put it back onto the countertop. Approximate three minutes later that same spatula was placed into a customer's pizza that was then delivered to them where they sat at the high chairs next to the bar, by the SAME server who picked it off the floor! Yes, you heard it correct. The SAME utensil that fell off the counter and onto the floor of the main walkway was used for a customer's pizza after it was picked up off the floor! Come on. We were quite disgusted and almost said something to the customers and the waitstaff. Why didn't we? Because we thought maybe you should know via YELP. Additionally when we went to use the gift card to include a tip for our waiter, he informed us that we couldn't tip him using the gift card that you sent us. So he had to charge us one penny using our debit so we give him a tip in a separate transaction. Seems a bit strange right? All of the gift cards we've used for other restaurants we've never had an issue where you couldn't leave a tip when using a gift card. You guys might want to think about revamping that. Wow. Tonight was our third try at Z'Abbracci and I was really hopeful that our take-out experience would be better than our dine in AND delivery experience. No. Such. Luck. All of these experiences have been in the last two months. Dine-in was a date night where our wait time was misquoted by almost 30 minutes bringing the total wait to nearly an hour. After sitting and ordering, our appetizer came out after our food, which took about 30 minutes from the time we sat. Clearly, the restaurant was busy, but this seemed excessive to spend an hour and a half of our date night waiting. Our delivery order may have taken the cake. I ordered online, excited we were in the delivery area. Again, the quoted delivery time of 45 minutes was doubled! And when I called the restaurant, the best I got was, "they'll be there soon". When the driver finally got to our house (a mile and a half from the restaurant) our pizza was cold, there were missing ingredients from the calzone and he didn't have the dessert we ordered, but we were charged for. Two days later I finally I got the refund I requested. And of course the driver had no solution on how to fix the situation... Yes, we went back. I don't know why... Easier to order tonight as it was carry-out. The order was accurate, and I purposely arrived 15 minutes after the time I was quoted. Good thing because I was told the order wasn't ready yet. The hostess walked back up shortly from the kitchen. In getting home the pizza was so burnt we pretty much ate cheese and picked at the crust. Definitely not worth the money we paid. I do not recommend this place at all at this current time. Disappointing! read more

Came down to Castle Rock to go to the Barn and we usually try to find something nearby/new to go to, so landed on Z'Abbracci. Had no idea there was a big thing going on downtown and a whole bunch of roads were closed, but finally got here. I asked the hostess what was going on outside (literally out the window) and she just looked at me blankly before finally saying Oktoberfest. She never spoke above a whisper and just put us at a table (and only gave us one menu). The waiter came out and asked what we wanted to drink. It was noon so we wanted a beer and he went and got us a beer menu. We ordered 2 and about 5 minutes later he came back out and said they were out of those 2. So we ordered another one and he came back a few minutes later and said they were out of that, too. Um, okay. We finally found a beer they had in stock. I ordered a calzone and the Mrs. had a sandwich. The waiter never came back out and asked us if we wanted another beer, but did bring us the check. So we took the hint and paid and left. The food was good, which is the only reason we gave them 3 stars. I doubt we'll be back. read more

My wife and I went to Z'Abbraci's on a Friday afternoon two weeks ago. We were the only diners at the time. The female server took our order for food and drinks. I had a dry martini and my wife went with the house chard. We ordered the Bolognese with the addition of meatballs as well as the "double double" small pizza. What we got was the Bolognese without meatballs and the "three little pigs" pizza. The food was good, so we went ahead and enjoyed it. When the server asked how we were doing, we mentioned that the food was quite good, but it wasn't what we ordered. She proceeded to bring the meatballs and say "sorry about that." She made no effort to adjust the check in any way. We went ahead and paid the bill, because the food was good. We also gave her our normal 20% tip. However, she really should have made some sort of effort at an adjustment for both dishes being incorrect. We would have thanked her and gone ahead paying the entire bill as it was. But, this incident appears to be consistent with other reports of good food and mediocre (at best) service. Management really should take note of this and take corrective action. read more

I didn't get to try the Cinnamon roll. The place was practically empty. As you can see from my picture. After 50 minutes I told Z'Abbracci to forget it. That Cinnamon Roll should have been as easy to serve as filling a water glass. Some of my friends food was really good. One was look warm. My tatter tots were ok. My friends liked them. I did let them know how this wasn't except-able. The owner sent the bartender over to apologize. They waived the bill for the table except for one kids meal, and gave my friend with the lukewarm plate a $25 gift card. My friends food looked delicious. Too bad after 50 minutes of a wait. Ordered for three adults and two children to go. Two adults ordered the fettuccine as well as the nine-year-old. The full-size takeout containers were less than half full. The nine year-old finished his in five minutes and immediately said he was hungry. Both adults were hungry as well so now we are cooking again at home. The 5 year-old was satisfied with her amount. The portion size is good to feed a five year-old girl for $17. It's pasta. It's a buck a pound at the store. Doesn't cost a lot to serve a decent portion. Bottom line restaurant. Atmosphere is great. Big TVs but great music, so you get the best of both worlds. Emerson light fixtures are beautiful. HWY 86 Hangman Mule is delicious! Perfect amount of ginger beer so it's not spicy. We started with the Truffle Parmesan Tator Tots - great flavor and crispy, not soggy! I ordered the Fettuccini Alfredo and added the herb created chicken. The chicken by itself was flavorful and moist. The fettuccini was great! Z'Abbracci is quickly one of our favorites. We have ordered them a few times for delivery and to go orders. We went today for breakfast. I see they are 5 star certified to be open. We do not check the list but noticed it on the door. Not sure why people are complaining. Everyone had on mask on inside, all employees, people waiting for food. If people are worried they should stay home. This restaurant looks like they are keeping up really well with the Covid guidelines. We can't wait to visit more. When we were there they had lots of seats outside. And only 3-4 tables being used in the whole inside. Food was hot and excellent and the staff was amazing!!! read more

Read the reviews and thought I would give this place a try. Worst mistake i have made in a while. Had the food delivered and it arrived early but was cold. That could be rectified using a microwave. But the food was also very bland. Had very little flavor for an Italian restaurant. I guess I could just add my own spices but for $50, one would hope that wouldn't be necessary. Lesson learned. The mushroom risotto was OK but the rice was not cooked correctly. And we ordered the cake $8 for a slice of nothing. Tried Z'Abbracci tonight for the first time. Was seated quickly even though one of our group was late. Interesting old building. Water came quickly with paper (good choice!) straws. Server checked with us several times while we were waiting for the last person in our dinner party. When the last person came our order was taken very quickly. We asked for a change (deep dish toppings on a thin crust) and got exactly what we wanted. The pizza was great! Lots of toppings, great tasting crust, perfectly cooked. There is a pizza place down the street that we have loved. They have some serious competition with Z's edging them out. read more

The food was okay, but the wait and organization was terrible. Getting seated was a mess, then it took forever to order, and then even longer to get our food. The pricing on the menu was not clear. I think part of the problem was that we came on a holiday, and they were understaffed. It might be better to close on days when employees call in "sick" or request off than to have a first time customer turned off forever. I wasn't impressed with the food, but my wife liked it, so that may just be me, but the long wait at the same time there were many open tables was confusing. Castle Rock is known for some of the best restaurants in Colorado, but this one missed, and that's sad because I really wanted it to be great. read more
