My husband and I stopped into the Fontana location of Zaky Mediterranean Grill several weeks ago. It was our first time coming to this location and, overall, the experience was decent. The food was okay, service was professional, and the overall ambiance of the establishment left a lot to be desired. Zaky Mediterranean Grill is located in a shopping center along Sierra Lakes Parkway. There is plenty of free parking shared among the businesses. We came in on a weekday at lunch. There was one other group in the establishment with us for most of the meal, so not a lot of heavy foot traffic at the time of our visit. Service was professional and efficient. Our order consisted of - 1/4 chicken bowl with rice and garlic sauce - a steak kabob wrap Portions were on the smaller side, especially for the price. We couldn't determine how fresh the food was either. It wasn't bad, but not everything tasted like it was made freshly. They also had this large oversized fan/cooling unit running. It was placed in an awkward place that would only cool people heading to the trash can. With that said, when the people from the other group went to throw their trash away, the unit was so strong it blew their trash onto our food. A big downer for us for sure! Our visit to Zaky Mediterranean Grill was not awful, but also not great. We would consider returning, but it definitely isn't a first choice for us. read more

I went for some late dinner for the family. I seen they had some fresh chickens roasting in the oven, I tried to order one and an angry customer spawned up in there acting a fool over his chicken that he apparently already paid for. Talking about that's my chicken and pacing around and honing some crazy energy on me because he thought I was there to collect his rotisserie chickens! I was like dude it's not that serious, I can always settle for a plate! Okay I can eat off of a plate and share it with my family! I'm so happy that I not a big back that gets hangry over food! The restaurant is cool and always delivers some delicious spicy hummus and warm Pita bread. FOOD  Wrap Combo - I ordered the wrap with the steak kebab. I liked the wrap. It was fresh and had good flavor, but it was a bit dry. The fries were your average takeout fries. Cucumber Yogurt - It was good, but it was packaged poorly and most of it spilled into the bag.  Baklava - This item was missing from my order.  Stuffed Grape Leaves - This item was missing from my order. SERVICE & AMBIANCE  The times I've been here in person, it's usually pretty clean. I contacted them because I was missing some items from my order I had placed on Uber Eats. I was willing to go pick it up. They took no accountability and blamed the Uber delivery guy. I don't think it's the Uber driver's job to check the items in the bag he's given, especially since the bag is sealed once they finish bagging the order. I found it rude and unprofessional. My wife got a steak plate and she said the sides were decent but the three pieces of steak she got were tough and did not taste good at all. She said the salad and garlic sauce were good lol. The restaurant itself smelled like cleaning chemicals and the owner was smoking at the back door and it was wafting inside. There were slight differences, the hummus was ok the meat, rice and grilled veggies good. It was clean, cold and comfortable inside. My friends and I have eaten here for a few months, and I can't lie, the service is usually pretty terrible but the chicken shawarma is so bomb that I always come back after a few weeks Yesterday, my friends and I came in at 1:30pm to get a quick meal before we had to go to work. We ordered when nobody was in the store. After all 5 of us ordered, we waited patiently for over 30 MINUTES FOR OUR FOOD WHILE THE TWO ATTENDANTS FED EVERY OTHER CUSTOMER BEFORE US. With no explanation as to why our orders were taking so long. after the first 30 minutes of waiting, I looked over the counter to see if they had started any of our orders: NOPE. THEY DIDN'T EVEN STARY MAKING OUR FOOD. IN THAT TIME THEY HAD GIVEN TWO OTHER LADIES THEIR FOOD AND WERE TAKING ANOTHER COUPLES' ORDER. at this point, one of my friends was already late for work and just asked if I would bring her the food later, so she left. We waited another 15 minutes until they started my girlfriend's meal, and when they asked her to pick her topping they informed her of a new rule: only the veggie toppings are free, and only 3 veggie toppings are allowed for free; any other toppings and any toppings more than 3 would be a .99 cent charge. This is a new rule, but a ridiculous one seeing as they don't put much toppings in anyways, and if you don't haggle the workers to give u the toppings they usually don't ask if you want them and send you on your way without them. Anyways, I got my chicken shawarma wrap and ate it and surprise... it was delicious. but i had to leave for work as soon as I finished because that whole ordeal took 55 minutes. Not sure it was worth it, but for my friend it definitely wasn't. She spent $27 on her lamb and chicken kebab bowl, and when they gave it to her it was THE SADDEST, SMALLEST BOWL OF RICE AND 6 MEATBALLS I EVER SAW. At that point, my friends decided to return her food because it for sure wasn't worth it. Y'all should've seen it, we all laughed out loud when we saw her bowl bc of how sad it looked The attendant had no idea how to do a refund, and told my friends decided to write down her phone number and that someone would call text her later to talk to her about doing a refund?? my friend asked "what happens if you guys never text me? what should i do, come back in?" to which the attendant responded "what if we don't text you? it's just $27 dollars". After this experience, I would not recommend this place. I've been coming to this location for a while, but today my girlfriend and I decided to visit with some of our friends. First, we ordered our food at the register, and the lady told us we had to wait for a bit, probably because there were a lot of us. While we were waiting, two other customers came in, and I'm not sure if the lady knew them or not, but she served them their food right away. By this time, we had already been waiting for at least 25 minutes. The lady she helped out sat down, finished her meal, and we were still waiting--40 minutes just for my order. My friends still hadn't received their food either. One of my friends ordered a bowl with lamb and chicken kebab. I wish I had taken a picture of it, it was literally only about four pieces of both chicken and lamb, and let me tell you, my friend paid $27 for it. The bowl was so sad. On top of that, when we asked if we could add toppings to our bowls, we were told that shredded feta cheese was an additional $0.99. Also, we were told we could only choose up to three toppings. Okay, I understand it might be due to inflation or something, but there were no signs or any prior notice that there was a limit on the toppings. Before, I was able to get more than three toppings. My friend decided it wasn't worth the money and asked the bald man for a refund. He claimed he didn't know how to process a return. How are you running a business and none of the employees know how to do a return? He literally asked my friend to write down her number and said, "The owner will contact you about the return." Whoever the owner is, they need to come in and properly train their staff because this is honestly ridiculous and terrible for business. I'm really disappointed. read more

Stopped in for lunch the other day but my order unfortunately from Zaky Mediterranean Grill ended up being quite disappointing! Ordered the Pita Wrap combo which comes with french fries and a soft drink but the whole combo was just really bad and not enjoyable at all, imho. The wrap with the beef and lamb meat was dry and not very flavorful. As a matter of fact, it was so bad that I threw it in the trash after only two bites despite me being very hungry. The fries were not much better either but more enjoyable with a little bit of ketchup. 2.5 Stars for reasonably priced food and friendly service. read more

The rotisserie chicken was pretty good, but the rice was very bland. My husband didn't even bother eating it. The hummus had absolutely no flavor at all, and what's funny, I wouldn't have known that if they didn't give it to me by mistake! They messed up my order and gave me two full orders of unwanted hummus, but did not give me the quinoa salad or the taziki that I ordered. That was a disappointment. Too bad. I love Mediterranean and this is the closest to me. But, it's a chain so what could I expect. I come home with the food and turns out he didn't put any hummus in the sandwiches which turned out to be very dry sandwiches and didn't enjoy at all. Also, it's $12.99 for a sandwich which is very over priced. I wouldn't go out of my way to go in there again because lots of other spots have better sandwiches and for much cheaper. Also, it's $1 for each falafel piece which is also expensive. If it was good quality, that's fine but the quality isn't worth the food there. Just my opinion. read more

She seemed to have trouble understanding him. I've come here twice and both times were disappointing. I love Pizzita in Chino because the chicken breast is always moist, never dry. They give such a generous amount of sides along with hummus, pita and garlic sauce. All the flavors blend so well. This place had dry chicken, I could throw it on the floor and it'll sound like clay. The rice is a sad pilaf, not even authentic Mediterranean rice. Think Hamburger helper meets play dough. The turnips weren't crunchy.
