We tried to pay with our Zaxby's gift card. They tried to scan it and said their computer was having a problem. They rebooted it twice and said their computer could not get it to come online to read gift cards. Very disappointing. I will not return there. read more

I'm from Texas. I had seen TV ads about ZAXBY'S. I was so excited to finally taste the food. I ordered Southern Fried Shrimp. The shrimp was cold. I went to the front counter. I put one of my shrimps in the hand of Melanie and she also said it's cold. They offered a new meal. Which was cold also. Really was colder. The cook stated there was nothing else he could do. My friend ordered: #1 Big Zax Snack Meal She had no problems. her meal was very warm. This review is for the Zaxbys located in Alcoa, TN. My daughter was eating her food and found a long blonde curly hair on one of her chicken wings, so I brought it up to the counter to have it remade. The cashier went and spoke to the person at the food window, who was a guy with a long blonde curly beard, no beard covering at all and was on the food line preparing all the food. I instantly felt sick and asked to speak to the manager. When I explained the situation and my concerns with this guy working around food with no beard covering, the manager informed me that they do not use beard covers and it's not store policy to use them at all. While he did remove the guy from the line, while we were there, that certainly did not solve the problem. Nothing about this was handled appropriately. I was feeling sick to my stomach after eating some of my food that this man with a beard had prepared and so I asked if the manager could please remake my order so that I could finish eating, so he did do that for me. However when I went back to the table, my daughter had found a 2nd long blonde curly hair in her food from being remade by that guy with the beard. I was beyond furious and sickened by this whole situation. I showed the manager and threw all of our food in the trash. I asked for a refund for the whole order which he did provide, however there was no apology for this incident and no reassurance that this would not happen again. He only said he would speak to his general manager and see if they could order beard covers as they do not make their employees use them at this location. This whole situation could have easily been avoided had this store chosen to follow proper safety and health requirements. I'm completely disappointed with this location and how this incident was handled. I will never eat at this location again, especially after going back inside the restaurant after sitting outside for about 10 mins, only to find the bearded guy back on the food line preparing food. I would advise anyone looking to eat at a Zaxby's, to avoid this location in Alcoa, TN completely unless you would like to risk eating long blonde beard hair which is difficult to see due to the blonde coloring. read more

This is my second review. This time the food was okay but they overcharged!! There was no indication that their menu prices were wrong... or what they charged was wrong! Previous review... Very insulting meal. I got the six-piece fingers and when I opened the box (once I got home) I was very surprised to see the box was quite empty... nothing like a full box of fingers should be. That was because instead of normal size fingers, they were all quite small. Three fingers were about medium size and three were very very tiny. Not a single finger was the size that Zaxby's once served. And since their prices have risen, this might just be the final time I go to their restaurant. read more

I ordered a Grilled Chicken Cobb salad and an order of fried pickles at the drive through. I went there specifically for the the fried pickles because I love them. I would not have been upset that they gave me breaded chicken on my salad. But when I took a bite, the chicken had to be from yesterday. Still not super upset, I would just eat the other part of the salad. But then, the fried pickles are sooooooo freakin old that it's like they got the crap fried out of them and then have been in a food dehydrator for the past 36-48 hours. This particular location ( Alcoa ) is hit or miss quality wise. When it's good , well worth it. Also either short staffed or poorly managed, dining room isn't maintained very well ex. Overflowing waste receptacles, no ice in machine, drink dispenser out of syrup. read more

I'm not sure what's going on with this store. Pulled up with one car in line and 15 at Chic-fil-A. That should have been a sign. The car in front of me ordered. 4 adult men who took at least 5 minutes. They pulled up and so did I. 10 full minutes later and STILL nobody has said hello to me. I called into the speaker 3 separate times. Loudly. People are now circling the building in line it's gotten so long. I finally pull up to the window and tell her that I've been there 10 minutes. She shrugged and told me "it didn't beep" and then proceeded to close the window on me. Not offer to take my order. Not apologize. Nothing. Incredibly rude. She actually wanted me to go back in get in line again! I'm not sure how she didn't notice a line had formed around the building and think there was no cars in the drive thru, or why she wouldn't help me at the pickup window, but 1 star is pretty accurate. read more

Had mixed views of Zaxby's today. Ordered the 6 piece chicken strips was cooked well juicy subs crispy fries were a little on the less crispy but the problem was the organization of the staff had to wait longer then usual for my meal and orders were on the shelf not going out on time which caused some confusion but other than that foods good just need communication up front read more

Fried pickles. That is what brought me to Zaxbys today. I love the way they do them and wish they would keep them as a regular menu item. However, that isn't the reason I decided to post a review. Its customer service and sadly the service person working the drive thru at 2:30 today left me feeling that I troubled her time. I had to wait a little extra for my order to be cooked the way I like and I will say they did a perfect job. When she opened the window she handed the bag and flatly said "sorry bout your wait" no thank you, no have a nice day, no smile. I'm just aware of this because McDs Taco Bell, Cookout have all up the customer service game to match or rival that of the standard at Chik F. I had the buffalo blue salad which literally looked like it was through together quickly and the chicken was slightly fatty. I also had the cheddar bites which were so overlooked they were dry. The past four times I have been here, the coke freestyle machine has been out of carbonation. I have been subjected to drinking flat vanilla root beer several times and frankly I would rather drink water. My favorite part of my Zaxby's experience is normally being able to drink my Barq's vanilla root beer, and that joyous beverage has been taken away from me due to the carbonation levels of this coke freestyle machine being neglected. I still give this 3 stars, because the nibblerz here are to die for. Overall great trip, and friendly staff. I just hate flat vanilla root beer. read more
