Had an americano, and because i own a coffee shop i know the difference between a good espresso shot and a bad one. They definitely do things the right way here, and the staff was pleasant and nice! I am very happy that decent coffee is finally making it to San Clemente. They get their beans from Klatch coffee out in the i.e.. And they have all intentions of preparing the coffee right. Have they just opened? Sure. Will they make some changes in the next couple months as they work the kinks out? Probably. BUT I am very happy with both the cappuccino and the coffee I had there today. The place is clean, it is convenient and like I said before I am happy that decent coffee has finally come to town. People who go to starbucks or any of the other chains and think that coffee tastes better... can keep going there. Because they don't like coffee, they like sugar drinks. During a day of exploring and just enjoying each other's company, my sweetie and I needed to find a place to get some work done. After a quick Yelp search of the local area, I picked Zebra House Coffee and it turned out to be a good choice. Usually, it is awkward to find new cool spots to chillax, but we were more than happy to find this place warm and inviting. There were plenty of parking spots and we were greeted with warm smiles and a warm welcome. The sign said "cash only", which I already knew based on reviews, which was no problem. Since it was a Monday afternoon, there were plenty of spots to sit and get some work done. Our mochas were brought to our table and tasted very chocolatey. There was also free wifi, which was nice. A very inviting place to come to read, study, relax, catch up, or whatever you need to do at a coffee shop. After we got our work done at the tables, we enjoyed the armchairs and just talked, which was nice. Overall, a very nice experience here! Will definitely come back when we get a chance! read more

This place is 5* with no hesitation. I stumbled upon Zebra House Coffee on my way back to San Francisco from a short San Diego trip and I could not find any better to have a quick breakfast. People working there are so friendly that I left the place with a big smile on my face. They have one of the best mochas that I had for a while and certainly the best muffin that I had. My bagel was also pretty good. This place is cash only but if this is something that will help them stay in business, I am more than happy to walk a few blocks to an ATM and come back when I don't have cash on me. For the total amount of 127000 IDR ($10) one can easily be having A grade Mandailing latte and a side dish of best quality Nasi Goreng or Chicken Betutu without any of the flavour enhancers at Anomali Coffee in Bali. If you're in San Clemente, head to Riders Club Cafe for you lunches and dinners. The owners there know how to cook quality authentic American food and don't overcharge for it. Owners Jay and Robin are welcoming and super friendly as is all their staff.We walk our dog down there almost every weekend and Jay always goes out of his way to offer our Golden a few dog biscuits.. she's pretty disappointed if we come out empty handed! In addition, they offer food and baked goods which are all made in-house. I've tried all kinds of drinks and the staff usually can offer an alternative to your usual drink if you're feeling adventurous. They also offer dairy alternatives with soy OR almond milk. I suggest the almond chai. A lot of reviews mention it being Cash Only and how inconvenient that is but I beg to differ. Cash only is a means to keep the cash flowing locally - literally! There are no fees that get parsed to large corporations and tips end up getting spent around town or as tips to other local workers. It's certainly not conventional but another good way to keep prices reasonable. Beyond coffee, this place does a great job supporting community. They host a local artist every month which is always fun to check out and have a live music open to all artists on First Fridays. Quality product, friendly service and a heart for our community. The bail lemonade was refreshing, not too sweet, and had the perfect amount of basil. The honey latte was hands down the best honey latte I've ever had.
