I was in the area and decided to stop by this spot without really looking too much into it. I was a bit short on time, and when it popped up nearby I figured it would be worth trying. The restaurant itself is on the smaller side, but it actually had a good amount of seating inside which was nice. I ordered one slider and one tender with fries. I got the slider Hot and the tender X-Hot. Surprisingly, I liked the Hot slider more than the X-Hot tender. The Hot had better flavor overall and seemed a lot juicier. The X-Hot definitely brought the heat, but the flavor on the Hot just stood out more to me. The kid working the counter was a little awkward, but still welcoming and helpful when taking my order. Overall it was a solid experience and the food was good. If I'm in the area again, I'd consider stopping by. Solid spot for a quick bite.
The thing about hot chicken places is that, when they work, they soar wonderfully, but when they fail, they fail spectacularly. It's very hard to get right the balance between being pulse-racing hot and cleverly delicious. You either lose the flavor in all that heat or you just don't bring it when it comes to the promise of burning you alive from the inside. I'm glad to say that Zecto's finds that balance. I was thoroughly impressed with how good (and big) the tenders were in their combos. Not only did the sting of some absolutely flaming chicken become noticeable in the first bite, but each belt was also noticeably scrumptious as well. The service was exemplary, as the workers had my back with refills, requests for honey, and to-go boxes. They also just had a pleasant and helpful demeanor when it came to interacting with them. Also, for a fast casual spot, the size was perfect. It had lots of tables for both two and four guests, and even accommodated our six person party admirably. I also thought the location had great parking and a drive-thru option, something you don't see often in the hot chicken game. All in all, this place was great if you want something other than the usual Dave's or Clyde's, and I think I'm a greater person for having eaten there. Like a great cyborg once said, I'll be back.
We order the chicken sandwiches and Zecto fries and the sandwiches were extremely good and freshly made. The fries were also good but for me had too much sauce but my boys enjoyed them. The fries are so crispy and taste so good with the seasoning they put on. The service was very friendly and helpful. Ambiance was chill inside and they do have a tv showing the sports games. Parking is good and they do have a drive thru as well.
Good wholesome and tasty food. The place is very clean place and fast service, I hope they keep it up. Also plenty of parking. The kids love it .

Okay this place was sooooo good! I got the regular mango habanero fries. It was amazing. The chicken was delicious, fries were seasoned perfectly and they were crispy and soaked up the sauce beautifully. Me and my girl went when they opened up at 11am. The building is small but they got some good amount of tables and service was fast since there was no one.
WOW NOW THATS WHAT I CALL FRIED CHICKEN! A little background for me when I first had Dave's hot chicken that was the first time I had fried chicken that really awakened something inside me a fried chicken fiend if you will. Ever since that day I've been chasing that same high and after all those years I thought maybe I would never get that same feeling again. That's until I had Zecto. The fried chicken here is something else it really helps that each item is made to order cause the freshness and crispness of the chicken is really something special. The seasoning on the fried chicken is almost like a layer of sauce with how well it is coated and the juiciness of the meat itself is divine. Yes it is on the pricey side but you can definitely taste the quality and to me that's worth it versus a commercialized taste that a lot of other fried chicken joints have fallen victim to. The service here is phenomenal I had multiple orders when I dined in here and each of those times we were given free items like extra sauce, waffles, cookies all free of charge which was really nice. Overall I HIGHLY recommend this place even if you aren't a fried chicken fiend this is just objectively delicious food that you won't be disappointed with. Thank you Zecto!
THIS IS MY FAVORITE HOT CHICKEN PLACE. By far actually. The only comparable places are out side of the state so this is easily my favorite hot chicken spot. Its got the most flavorful hot chicken, I like all the different flavors they have for the zecto fries like teriyaki and mango habanero and omg its so good I've tried the tenders, sandwich, and the zecto fries and all 3 are the best! Prices are a little high, I like their combo deals, and their daily specials. Service is pretty fast and nice and the inside seating is also good too.

Thank you instagram for pointing me in the direction of Zecto. Firstly, the staff here were so friendly. The food was amazing, they serve high quality chicken with great texture, tons of options for spice levels as well as entrees. We tried the loaded fries and tenders - both were incredible. Follow them on instagram for specials, we happened to stumble in on a BOGO tender day, which was awesome! They have a drive-thru option if you'd prefer not to order at the counter. Weird location, almost at a corner and there is only one way into the driveway, so if you miss it, you have to figure out a way to get back. Small place, but menu is easy and simple. Not too many choices, but it's ok, too many choices can be overwhelming. We ordered the 4 piece tenders combo, with mild seasoning. Comes with fries and a drink. The tenders are HUGE! So an order of 4 might seem like it's not enough, 2 people can easily share. Chicken was clean, tasted fresh, and flavorful. We also ordered the zacto fries, topped with chicken bites and the chicken bites were coated in your sauce choice. We chose the Korean bbq sauce. Super tasty!! This was a winner! The also ordered the 10 count wing, very tasty sauces, bbq and Korean bbq sauce. Although the food did take sometime to come out, it's worth it when the food is clean and well made. The chicken was cooked to perfection and heavily seasoned in the sandwich. The bun, coleslaw AND the pickles went so well all together and I don't typically like pickles. It added a great crunch and a slight flavor. The fries were sooo crispy, I could've gone w out the extra chicken on top of the fries. The sweet korean chili sauce added a nice sweetness to everything, I would def recommend and can't wait to come back and try the wings. read more

Been wanting to try Zecto. I ordered 5 wings naked(I like to taste the chicken first) 3 flats and 2 mini drums. Really delicious taste to halal wings, freshly prepared. Very nice crispy outside too. Helpful staff explained that wings take the longest to prep so drive thru is good for everything else on menu. Lots of flavor choices and super reasonable prices. read more

I had high expectations after seeing all of the reviews, and honestly it was good but I don't think I could put up next howlin rays. the chicken had good moisture to it but the spices was off to me. With a ton of competition (just a block away is famous Holdaak) Zecto gets the chicken sandwich right. You walk in, and the vibe hits you first: funny pictures, odd lighting, a game with a button on the counter. The guy at the counter is all smiles and efficiency, sweeping up when he is not taking orders or delivering food. Five stars for that alone. The sandwich itself? It's a thing of beauty, a study in balance. The chicken breast was juicy, spilling over the bun like it's too proud to be contained. Mild, I asked for, and mild it was--just enough heat to wake your palate, a flirtation with spice that doesn't take away from the chicken but adds to it. The bun carries the restaurant's brand like a tattoo. Then there's the sauce--tasted like seasoning salt -- that hooks you, addictive! Coleslaw's there on the chicken doing its job--not the star, but the sidekick you need to cut through the richness. I wish it was vinaigrette based since the seasoning salt sauce probably is mayo based. The fries? Crisp, lightly coated with something that echoes the chicken's flavor profile without screaming for attention. They're not spicy, just seasoned enough. The bathroom's clean--spotless, actually, though you'll need a code to get in. My family of 6 and I just went to Zecto's. We give it 5*'s but my husband gave it an "alright". The server A-A-Ron was amazing. He refilled our water and that was cool but my favorite part was when he pushed the button. He didn't push the button quite right but I still respect it. Staff were super helpful and friendly. They allowed us to try different sauces before committing to an order, which was great. The zecto fries were absolutely AMAZING. We got the garlic parm flavor (which we were told was a controversial flavor), and we thought it was great. The tenders had the perfect spice level and were super juicy. I've been to a lot of hot chicken places over the years (including in Nashville), but Zecto definitely has my heart! I have no idea how they manage to keep the chicken so insanely tender, but I would imagine it has to do with the fact that they only use fresh chicken that's never frozen. While their tenders are enormous and a ton of protein, I keep going back to the Zecto chicken sandwich. The brioche bun is super soft and pairs so nicely with their juicy chicken, light breading, refreshing coleslaw and zesty spices! I like getting mine mild, but if you can tolerate more spicy foods, I highly recommend going up in spice level, as the taste is out of this world! My kids are also fans of the chicken fingers, which are super crispy on the outside and tender on the inside! They also really like the mac n cheese, plus the fries. I've also tried their wings and Zecto fries, which are great, but since I'm not much of a saucy person, the sandwich is always my staple! It's cool that you can customize your spice level, sauces, etc. for both dishes and as someone else commented, the wings are huge! Stumbled upon this hidden jewel of Fullerton. It's been open a few months it seems. I was visiting my in laws and usually my teen loves going to Dave's Hot Chicken. Saw the "Now Open" sign on building, so decided to give this place a try. Boy do i not regret it! It's finger licking good! Met the owner Matthew and he seem really genuine and very informative of what's their best seller, He informed mee that the word "Zecto" means "Hot" What I ordered ~ Nashville Sando sandwich was the perfect size. It has its stamped logo onto the brioche bun. The coleslaw and pickle was fresh and good compliments to the sandwich itself. Sandwich was perfectly toasted. ~ the Traditional bone in wings are big size. Very crispy and flavorful to its fullest. Got it in mango habanero and it's not too spicy at all. Also got the Sweet Korean chill flavor, it has a kick of spice too. It's not unmanageable. ~ Zecto fries were yummy. Filled with so much flavored chicken bites. Definitely give this one a try! I tree the Garlic Parmesan 1st but highly recommend the Spicy Korean flavoring. Way better, has a kick of spice but my gosh! Super yummy and fully loaded w so much chicken bites! Everything is fresh not frozen. Good amount of indoor tables and seats for dining along with so much patio tables/chairs and umbrella. I know this building has been remodeled to a 2 story. Use to only be 1 story. I grew up in Fullerton and familiar w the surrounding areas. It's right across from Food 4 less and Auto zone. Has a convenient drive thru. So this place gives it 2 thumbs up! Friends took me here for Halal fried chicken and raves about it. The store was relatively empty on a Saturday afternoon. They had a nice buzzer game upfront, where if you stop the buzzer at exactly 10 seconds, you get a prize. I ordered the Nashville Sando which was one of the only sandwich available, and made it a combo for a side and a drink. I got the mac n cheese for the side. I would have to say this is an amazing deal for $11 in this present day economy. The fried chicken sandwich was pretty good, but it wasn't anything that blew my mind. The Mac n cheese wasn't bad, it's your typical, run of the mill, Mac n cheese which can be good if you're looking for something simple. My friends said the Jumbo Nashville Tenders was much better than the sandwich but you just had to try the sandwich first. I would say for $11, it was a decent meal hence the 4 star rating I'm giving it. Definitely trying the tenders and the seasoned fries if I end up coming back! read more

Had takeout a few weeks ago and decided to try again. Th I started time i ordered 8 pieces finger tenders and one extra chicken tender. Both mild in spice for me..not a hot and spicy person..the crust on both the finger's and tender was crisp and did not take away from the juicy chicken in side..both were large for the price..leftovers for me yes!!! Had a chocolate shake to go with the fingers tenders. Help to cut the spice even tho mild. Plus I love a good thick shake with tenders or wings. Such an amazing hot chicken spot!! Food is great, place is clean, service is awesome. Their spicy is actually spicy and is accurate to the heat levels. I got the Sando and chicken tenders, both in hot and in medium. Perfect middle ground is medium. Only ONE critique and it's a unique one; their bread in the sando is "too fluffy!" It takes away from the amazing flavor of the chicken! I mean, it's a good problem to have, but I would definitely suggest thinner buns for the sando. Their comeback sauce though, OMG, AMAZING! Price is also amazing for the amount of food you get. The tenders are so huge, and the sando is such a steal. I did not get their sides or fries so I can't comment on that, but their chicken is some of the best I've ever tried. read more

Easy 5 stars I was heartbroken that spice c in tustin had closed and I think I found my replacement First time coming here and I was so excited by the menu I'm a huge sauce fan and I loved the comeback sauce soo much - really tasty The Korean chili wings were my favorite, buffalo second favorite, followed by the mango habanero, and then lemon pepper Look how juicy and succulent the inside of the boneless wings are The sandwich is really delicious thanks to the succulent chicken's pairing with that comeback sauce And the zecto fries married together my favorite Korean sauce and comeback sauce plusss crispyyy chicken I really liked the Mac n cheese The spice levels on the fingers are not too extreme (medium means medium) Big fan of the peppermint shake, which they can make with either chocolate or vanilla, but is seasonal and leaving soon! My son had the 8-piece tenders, half Nashville Hot, half Mango Habanero, and yeah... zero leftovers Fries were crispy outside, fluffy inside, absolute perfection. The food here was amazing -- totally worth the price! Everything tasted fresh and flavorful, and I'd definitely come back just for that alone. The cashier, Ethan, was also super nice and helpful. He went out of his way to make sure we had a great experience, and his positive attitude really stood out. Thank you, Ethan, for making our night! The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because of something that made us uncomfortable. One of the cooks kept obviously staring at my friend, who is transgender, and even called over another cook (the one wearing a hat) to come look too. It was really noticeable and made my friend feel uneasy. We came in on Thursday, October 23rd around 8:05 PM, and this happened multiple times while we were eating. Despite that situation, we truly appreciated Ethan's kindness and professionalism -- he's the reason this review is 4 stars instead of less. The food and his customer service were both excellent, and I hope management addresses what happened in the kitchen so no one else has to feel uncomfortable in the future. read more

We have been searching for a great Nashville chicken sandwich in OC for a while. So happy to have found Zecto! The chicken was juicy and topped with flavorful coleslaw and tasty brioche bun. The french fries were seasoned and cooked well. The staff was very nice and offered to refill our drinks without even asking. Parking was easy and good amount of seating inside.
