We were visiting from out of town and purposely looked for a Haitian restaurant. We saw that this place has a really good rating so we decided to try it. We weren't disappointed at all! When you walk in, it was really nicely set up with a modern look motif, some tables by the window and some outside seating as well. But it was so darned humid at this time of the season in Georgia that I couldn't entertain the idea of outside seating. The jerked chicken nachos was really awesome because the Pico and the chicken were sitting on fried green plantains instead of nacho chips. Oh so good! The conch fritters was also good although I'm not a fan of conch. Hubby polished it off all by himself. My first entree was salmon with the Haitian rice and it was so well seasoned, was not salty at all. Hubby had the fried red snapper and he loved it. I had their Blue Haitian cocktail and it was delicious, although they were a little bit heavy on the alcohol. So used to other restaurants watering their alcohol down but charging a lot. With this drink I sure got my money's worth. We enjoyed the food so much we went back a second time. This time I got the Griot Pork and hubby got the oxtail. It was so, so good! It was a really good dining experience as the servers were very friendly and attentive and they made time to joke around and tell you the different types of food from different regions of Haiti. We enjoyed our visit so much we went back a week later. The roasted chicken was delicious. I also got a side of broccoli (needed a vegetable serving) and it was delicious too. These are the types of restaurants Smyrna needs - something new, fresh, and different. Amazing Caribbean inspired food, offering great value, service, and atmosphere. I found this new restaurant in Smyrna off of Yelp and read the reviews. They were great and this spot is right up the street from me. The restaurant is very nice. I sat at the bar and the waitress that I had was great! She gave me good recommendations on drinks and food and was constantly checking on me. I ordered the rum punch which was really good. For an appetizer I ordered the plantain nachos. These were very flavorful and good! For my entree I ordered the oxtails. The oxtails were really good. My wife and I visited this place after being recommended to us by family. It is, without a doubt, an amazing restaurant. Parking: it is self-park and there are plenty of parking spaces, although I could see this getting heavy traffic on a busy night. Atmosphere: contemporary decor awaits, simple and elegant with specific accent pieces that detail the owner and chef's country of origin. There is Latino and Caribbean music playing in the background that complement the locale while helping you immerse yourself in the cuisine. Staff: the staff is friendly and very helpful, they will give you a detailed overview of the menu while also making recommendations based upon your dietary needs. Menu: if there is something that always makes me smile, is a restaurant that has a consolidated small menu, it expresses that the food is made fresh, and details the cuisine that the restaurant specializes in, perfect. The food: Plantain Nachos: out of this world! The base is a fried plantain that is well seasoned. The plantain is topped with grilled chicken and a garnish of tomatoes, peppers, and a made-in-house aïoli sauce. The toppings compliment the plantain allowing you to taste all the ingredients. This makes this plate a great starter and a nice entrance to the rest of the menu. Yuca Frites: when I tell you, these are one of the best yuca frites I've had in Atlanta, you better believe I've compared them to other restaurants. They were fried perfectly, enough crunch to be satisfying while being soft and flavorful on the inside. As an added bonus, it is paired with the in-house aïoli for an amazing taste in each bite. Djon Djon Rice Bowl: amazing! I added chicken and avocado to mine, and oh my goodness!!! The bowl is based with seasoned black rice, the bowl is then segmented with the toppings of street corn, sweet plantains, pickled onions, avocado, and chicken topped with the in-house aïoli. Each bite was a complete burst of flavor on every single bite. Flat out, a filling, deliciously orchestrated bowl of flavor that you will be forever thankful for. I usually save these types of words for stake reviews, but I had to use them here, because this bowl is that good. Banana bread: perfectly cooked, a nice outside crust with a soft and moist center that allows you to enjoy all the flavor of the banana bread as well as the topped vanilla ice cream and strawberry garnish. The drinks: The coconut old fashion: at first I was VERY skeptical. But I love this drink and so I decided to give a shot. AM I GLAD I DID, the build is amazing, at first it tasted like any other old fashioned, I did mention to my wife that I felt my drink getting sweeter, later I found out the ice sphere is infused with coconut! I had a second and it was amazing. Overall: This is a small up-and-coming restaurant with a lot of potential. The food is amazing, the drinks are great, and the atmosphere is just right. Came here for my sister's farewell dinner. The food was delicious. I recommend the fried pork, yucca frites, accra, plantain, steak, Salmon, the hatian sandwich and the s'mores. I was able to meet the chef/ owner, the executive chef and an awesome bartender. From the bar I would recommend the passion fruit rum punch and the old fashion. The menu says it's a coconut old fashion but don't be scared it's just an old fashion. If you want it a little sweeter try cherry juice. Parking is easy and the place is nice even for big groups. Went in for lunch on a Wednesday. It was not busy at all as the restaurant just opened and it was a weekday. Waitress was very pleasant and food came out fast. Ordered the Rasta pasta and rumarita. Pasta was absolutely delish! Shrimp were large and there were a good many. Also idk what it is about some restaurants who leave the tail on shrimp, especially in items like pasta but Zeke's knew what was up, no tails on these shrimp!! The waitress was very attentive however she did not tell me the pasta was spicy. All I can say is WOW!!! This place is top of the line with Haitian fare!! Back in NY, it's ok, but here, absolument incroyable!!! I had the oxtails (my go to and favorite meal), my Mom had the fried snapper and both of us had the rice....no comparison to the delicious flavors that roll around your mouth and your fingers (just make sure you wash your hands before ). First timers to Zeke's and decided to try it based on recommendations from my daughter and son in law. Definitely checked Yelp for this restaurant because I have never had Haitian food that I know of. The pictures had me thinking about this place all day, and I couldn't wait to try it! RUN TO THIS PLACE!! I will go ahead and tell you that this was one of the best meals I have had in a very long time. The flavors, the spices, the heat, everything I was tasting was a party in my mouth. We started with Conch Fritters. I have had these before in other restaurants and I crave spicy food. The fritters were crispy on the outside and soft in the middle and had a nice kick with spicy peppers and a spicy aioli. Crushed two orders of those. We also tried the Plantain Nachos, fried plantains with jerk chicken, pico de gallo and a cilantro lime crema. Fantastic spice and just a bit of heat. Those didn't make it long enough for a pic. I did try a bit of everyone's entrees but I have to say that I won in that category. The Tasso Plate with pork (Griot) was very much like carnitas that I was familiar with, pork chunks that were crispy on the outside and really tender on the inside. A couple of chunks had just the right amount of fat left on the meat and it really added to the flavor. My guess is that it is fried in lard but I couldn't tell you for sure. All I know is that the flavors were EPIC! I will crave this dish. I will dream about this dish. Our server Jesus brought me a spicy hot dipping sauce because I asked him to light me up! He sure did! My whole family loved their choices as well and we ended with desserts of donut holes with a sweet cinnamon and anise and hazelnut sauce and a brûlée'd banana pudding that was to die for! Jesus was such a great server, and he took very good care of us. You could tell he takes great pride in his job and the restaurant he works for. I was speechless most of the time but I gave him several high 5's. It was that good. From what I understand this place has only been open for a year. Based on the service and what I have tried so far, this restaurant ranks high on my list of my all time favorite metro Atlanta restaurants.
