Be careful if you use spafinder cards, they will charge you an extra fee of $68. I booked an appointment online through SpaFinder website for couple massage for $199. When the service was done they wanted to charge me an extra fee of $68. After an unpleasant confrontation with the cashier I refused to pay the extra fee. I asked her why is this extra fee for? and she told me that they have to pay spa Finder for advertising. Anyway, they won because they had my card in file, and charged me two days later. I did officially file a complaint with spa finder and Better Business Bureau

I booked this spa on ClassPass a couple weeks ago for a Saturday at 9:30 AM. When I arrived, the door was locked, and I looked online and found that they open at 10:00 AM. Since they couldn't get me in the rest of the day, they told me they'd refund my credits. A couple weeks later, I booked via ClassPass again and woke up to my booking being cancelled. I called, and she was able to get us in later that day for a Couple's Massage. When we arrived, we were taken back to a room to soak our feet and we were served tea meanwhile. Then we were taken to our room, where there was a rose on one of two of the massage beds. My husband's bed was heated, but mine was not. The massage was just fine for me, and my husband said his was good. The lady literally climbed on top of me and straddled me during my massage, which I found to be bizarre and not professional. There were a few issues with my visit, that I've also seen in other Yelp and ClassPass reviews. The lady, who I assume is the owner, was complaining to us the whole time during our foot soak/massage about how ClassPass and SpaFinder don't pay her a lot. It made me feel super awkward since we are avid ClassPass users, and because she does have a choice whether to accept ClassPass users or not - she's not forced! Now to the worst part of the entire experience....when I went to tip at the end. I asked if our masseuses had Venmo so I could Venmo each of them. The owner provided me with one of the masseuses Venmo account names and told me to just Venmo the entire tip to her and she'd split it. While I was typing the Venmo, the owner said, "How much tip are you leaving?" I ignored her because I couldn't believe my ears. When I ignored her, she asked again louder, "How much tip are you leaving?" So I said, "20%." She rolled her eyes and said, "Only 20%? It was a 90 minute massage. I think 20% is so-so. It's better if you leave 25%." I cannot make this up. I was in literal shock and disbelief, and it left the most sour taste in my mouth. I ended up leaving 25 each, but I was so traumatized because of how rude the owner was. It's one thing to ask how much someone would like to leave for a tip, but it's another thing to comment negatively on a very generous tip and then gaslight someone and make them feel horrible for leaving 20%! Disgusted.

My husband and I had a couples massage. Anna and Milly were amazing! To start we entered a relaxing separate room. Music and lights made for a wonderful ambiance. Hot socks, foot massage, and a hot tea of ginger and honey thy was delicious. We both agreed the massage experience was excellent.

Update: to make matters worse, they marked my Groupon as used. Now I have to escalate on Groupon to trade it in. Very unethical business practices . Booked a couples massage for today. We arrived early just to be told they didn't have an appointment scheduled for us, after driving over 30 minutes to this place. They tried telling me that if I had a reservation that I would have receives a confirmation. I showed them my confirmation and they said they don't show anything booked. No offer to rebook us or make up their mistake. Save yourself the headache and book some where else.

RUDE TEXT FROM "owner"
V S.

So The "owner" apparently doesn't like negative true reviews?! Owner will say "you're not a real costumer, fake review". Wow. Ok. By the way, they have more bad reviews from other costumers, if you scroll alllll the way to the bottom of Yelp! Not only are they bad at massaging, they are also rude and unprofessional!

Great little massage spot tucked away in a shopping center in Laguna Niguel. Easy online reservation process and excellent prices. I love how they provide you with tea in a cozy private room adorned with an electric fireplace. Hubby and I had a couples massage, which we both enjoyed very much!

The not so good thing was that they didn't put us in a couples room and said it would be an additional $10, and my husband did not get the foot scrub which was part of our combination massage package. He also felt rushed by the massage therapist to start early while still undressing. However, as previously mentioned the massage itself was very nice and also appreciated the small bottled waters at the end. Otherwise, we would consider visiting here again if we're in the area.

My mom and I booked massages and got there early so we could enjoy the amenities and get into a relaxed headspace before our scheduled massages. Unfortunately, we found it nearly impossible to decompress due to ongoing conversations throughout these spaces. From discussions about kids' sports practices in the jacuzzi to work-related chatter in the sauna, we could hear it everywhere, even back in the locker area. There are signs asking people to keep quiet in these spaces, so while some guests were using "spa voices" any constant conversation disrupted the peaceful atmosphere when we were trying to rest and decompress. It would've been nice if employees working the area could enforce quiet conduct, because clearly the signage alone wasn't cutting it. We basically gave up on unwinding before our massages, which was disappointing since that's half the reason we came early. The massage itself was relaxing and the therapists were wonderful, but the spa experience was not it. I was also disappointed that as we were paying for our services at the end, not a single employee asked how our experience was. I wouldn't be writing this otherwise had someone cared to ask how we enjoyed it. If you're just coming for a treatment and heading straight out, you'll probably love it. (Perhaps try going on a weekday so it's less busy where you can avoid the unending chatter.) But if you're hoping to actually use the amenities as the peaceful escape they're supposed to be, hopefully you have a better experience than we did.

The service was excellent and can see that staff takes great care and attention to making sure everything is taken care of. We very much appreciated all the amenities this inn had to offer such as the welcome drink, evening cookies (delicious!), sauna, sunblock at the pool, towels, lovely breakfast.. all complimentary (breakfast with resort fee). We also appreciated the 10% military discount. We stayed in room 23 which was a standard queen bed with garden view and liked that spot because it felt central, private, and quiet. The room is on the smaller side but it was fine. It does not have a fridge but they provide an ice bucket. We ended up putting our bottled waters on top of the AC box and that kept it cool. Being that the inn is beautifully historic, there weren't many outlets inside the room. The bath robes were very plush. Both lamp shade knobs didn't seem to turn properly but we made it work somehow. Otherwise, we felt well taken care of throughout our stay and so glad we came. Aside from the inn, there is a walk to get to Victoria Beach. We walked south along Coast Highway to Victoria Place and found the underpass from there. We also took the free trolley outside of the hotel to get around town. It could be quite a wait for the trolley as we waited 30 mins. There is a QR code on the sign to track the trolley locations.

For starters, my initial tour didn't include the quiet room, which I later discovered on my own after my treatment. In addition, there were no light snacks in the women's area, only a single water dispenser & a tea station, both of which were empty the entire 4 hour duration of my time there. Upon departure I realized there are some light snacks in the "members area" , which was also not shown to me during my tour upon check in, and I was surprised to see it all being put away at 5:30 , despite the spa being open until 7:00 pm. When a spa facilitates extended exposure to heat via saunas and hot tubs, it's essential that patrons have access to water so they can rehydrate and to have snacks available. This was a total disappointment. For the service itself, I got a 60 minute de-stress package. The first few minutes after my technician introduced herself were spent reviewing upsell options for feet, scalp, eye, and shoulder treatments that ranged an addition $40-60. I was surprised to learn the add-ons did not actually add time to the service, but the same 60 minute massage would occur with an emphasis on the body part mentioned. This was tacky and not something I would expect from a 5 star resort. In terms of the facilities and their upkeep, the towels were piled high in the hampers throughout the time I was there and the bowl with iced washcloths stayed empty until the last hour. The facilities themselves were outdated and nothing special with respect to the dry and wet saunas and the small whirlpool in the women's section. Overall I do not recommend the Waldorf Astoria spa and will spend my $300-500 spa day money elsewhere.

However, she also did some weird things and put way too much power in areas that should not ever be massaged hard: bones, neck and head. At one point she was literally pulling my hair. It was very painful. And her massage movements were very fast and aggressive. If you're looking to relax this is not the place for you. But if you give them some direction and ask them not to massage your head with as much power as the back and also no hair pulling the you may have a much better experience than I did. Almost 2 days later my neck is still sore, my scalp still hurts...a lot. Also I got a bruise on my leg from her massage. I think her intent was good, helping with knots etc. but she lacks understanding of the human body. The way she just pour cold oil on me from the bottle and worked so hard. It was like she was aggressively cleaning a dead fish. I wish I could give them a better review but I honestly do feel a little traumatized from this experience
