Heard this place was really good, so I had very high expectations. I was worried because I wasn't hungry, but it was the requested spot by my wife for Mother's Day. As soon as we walked in, expectations were met! Our table was ready and service was flawless. I was greeted by the owner, Hari, and he made great recommendations. Chicken Masala Fries - secret menu tasty as heck. Mains: Chicken Vindaloo - get it one notch down in heat from "Indian family style" best thing I've eaten for months. First time here, upon walking in, it is BEAUTIFUL and smells amazing. I caught myself jamming to and tapping my foot to the Indian music. They have a vast menu for all. They have gluten free/gluten sensitive options as well as vegetarian options. We had the Lamb Biryani and Butter Chicken. The lamb was so tender and flavorful. The butter chicken was delicious as well. Extremely friendly and informative staff. We sat at the bar so we got to chat a bit with them as well. Really great guys! This restaurant continues to deliver delicious food and great service in a beautiful location. We had an impromptu dinner with friends and knew that we had to come here. The butter chicken never disappoints and the biryani was perfectly spiced and flavorful. Of course, You can't miss an order of the garlic naan. Lastly, thank you so much to Issam for being so awesome with our table. We had a toddler with us and he was so patient and kind throughout dinner and always checked in to see if we needed anything. The very best Indian cuisine we've ever had! We've come back twice this week (having eaten leftovers in between). We had the best Butter chicken we've ever tasted. I tried Chicken Vindaloo, a Cauliflower appetizer, veggie Momos and they were each delicious. The restaurant was clean and had a great atmosphere! The staff is always wonderful. The location of Zen Curry and Grill is a bit tricky to find, but it is a real gem of a restaurant and worth seeking out. This establishment offers an extensive menu of delicious, creatively prepared Indian cuisine, a happening bar with sporting events on tv and extensive selections of beer and wine. The atmosphere is amazing, with very attractive decor and beautiful table settings. Servers are well trained, attentive and very helpful in navigating the amazing menu items. Classy and modern, nice bar area. Only had to wait a few minutes for a booth. We arrived around 7:30 or so. I love Indian food and wanted to try a little of everything. So we got the grilled meat sampler, naan sampler, Indian dumplings, and lamb masala. All were outstanding! We had a lot left over but not as much as you'd think. It was that good, I just kept eating. There is a decent wine and beer list, corkage was only $15-20 dollars. At the time of our visit, it was still soft opening so food came out all at once instead of being coursed out. I'm sure just a hiccup and will be better spaced next time. Service was friendly, again restaurant is lovely inside. They have a nice patio too for summer. Found this place on Yelp after we finished a hike in the Cleveland National Forest. We got there at an odd time on a Sunday (3:30ish) so luckily no wait. It wasn't crowded at all. It's beautiful inside, nice decor. We sat at a booth and the seats were a bit snug. But we are all fairly thin so it was fine. But if you are a bit larger, sit at a table, not a booth. We ordered some momo's, chicken wings, a meat platter and a stir fry dish. The chicken was dry so don't think I'd order that again. The momo's were good! I loved how pappad was given free kinda like chips & salsa! The vegetable chow mein was good. I think we got too much meat. Next time stick to the typical Indian curries and sabzi's (vegetable dishes). I also tried the salt spice drink and it gave me a bad stomachache. It's supposed to be a digestive drink so I guess it did its job!! read more

Had dinner here last night and everything was honestly so good. We had the pumpkin lamb curry, samosas, cheese naan, mango chicken curry, and chicken sekuwa--and there wasn't a single dish we didn't love. I'm usually picky about lamb because of the smell, but theirs was super tender and flavorful. I ended up finishing the whole thing. One thing to note--Yelp says they close at 11:30PM, but they actually close at 9:30. We got there around 9:15 after a long drive from LA, totally starving, and even though it was close to closing time, the staff welcomed us so kindly. The ladies at the front were sweet, and Issam who took care of our table was super friendly and warm. Really appreciated how they didn't rush us at all. Great service, good vibes, and amazing food. Like a VIRGIN, this was our 1st visit to ZEN. I love INDIAN food and this place was really worth trying! I ordered so many items here because I wanted to try as much as I could. The PRICES are also very reasonable! Every dish has a lot of flavor and spices! The only SURPRISING thing was the CHICKEN WINGS was like a stir-fry with bell peppers and onions so I thought it was the CHICKEN WINGS by itself! So it wasn't as CRUNCHY as I thought it would be... The SAUCES were also so refreshing! One of the sauces reminded me of a CILANTRO LIME sauce. The pumpkin soup was a RARE find in my opinion so I had to try it. FAVORITE DISH: Chicken Tikka Marsala Favorite app: Garlic cheese NAAN UNIQUE DISHES: Onion Pakoda (onion rings with a spicy turmeric flavor). RARE FIND: Pumpkin Soup. Very disappointed. Lamb was tough, dry and tasteless. Very little chicken in the coconut chicken curry--which was the best dish but nothing great. The crispy cauliflower was soggy. And the final bill was pretty pricey! I had high expectations from all the hype, but I've eaten at many excellent Indian restaurants and this isn't one of them. Ranked #22 in the USA for a reason!!! Had lunch there and it was amazing. You have to try the crispy roasted cauliflower, super unique and so tasty. I ate them so fast I didn't even take a picture. Also had the sampler platter and the flavors were incredible!! Clean restaurant, friendly service given by Spencer, and a lovely patio to sit outside as well as plenty of seating inside. We are not fans of "hot" food, but we went anyway and had a great time. The restaurant is well appointed. The attention to detail was note worthy, though I'm hardly any kind of a restaurant snob. Our server explained and recommended. I like that. We ordered a chicken curry, and on the 1 to 5 for spice, we asked for negative 2! The server laughed but gave us something we could eat. I had a glass of wine with our shared dinner. Excellent service and food. $45 out the door. I look forward to taking friends to the place. So....my wife discovered this place via Facebook and she mentioned that she has seen the "coming soon" sign many times as we drove by. We decided to try this place this past weekend during the soft opening. Nobody was in there when we went (on a Sunday). We got there at noon. My wife is Indian (from New Dheli) so she knew what to look for on the menu. The restaurant was clean, the service was great and the food was amazing. The price was good for the quality as well. We usually go to Mantra (off of Jefferson) and another Indian restaurant (off of Nicholas / Winchester), which are both good. I believe for my wife and I, this spot is now our new spot for Indian food. I like the ambiance of the restaurant. The owner came out and spoke with us for a bit, which was awesome. My only small issue, was that the new waitresses really didn't know the menu as they should. My wife asked about the "yak" that was on the menu and the waitress initially said it was a vegetarian dish, when in fact "yak" was meat. The other waitress also provided wrong information about the menu, in which my wife had to correct. Aside from that, everything was fine and there was nothing else to worry about.
