First off, this place made my morning. Not getting enough sleep and feeling grumpy and depleted it's hard to get around to eating breakfast. When we walked in everyone greeted us and I mean everyone. We got serviced immediately granted it was a slow hour but nevertheless I was pleased. The food was impeccable and divine, neatly arranged and absolutely perfect portion for me. The owner has a beautiful back story, he was there cooking and teaching his cooks, he greeted us and wished us happy holidays. He was so kind and generous. The perfect hole-in-the-wall place to come for breakfast when in Las Vegas! We were in town for the weekend and looked up brunch spots nearby. This one came up on Yelp as only being 3 mins away and they had an average of 4.8 stars on Yelp with over 1,000 reviews, so I couldn't pass it up! The outside is unassuming, it is a strip mall with many different businesses and plenty of parking. I recognized Chef Sterling Burpee (the owner) as soon as we walked in from when I read about their story online prior to visiting. He was out and about mingling with all the customers and checking in on everyone. You know it's a good place when the owner is that involved! He came over to chat with our table and was so friendly. He shared about the history of the restaurant and his culinary journey. All 4 people in my group got the breakfast sandwich and he said that sandwich recipe has made it into over 20 different airports across the country! I can see why because the sandwich was fantastic. It was the perfect mix of flavors, we loved that it came with cheesy hashbrowns on it. The side of potatoes were crispy and delicious as well. It's hard to make a sandwich better than average, but all four people in my group commented on how good it was! We told them we were in a hurry to make it to a lacrosse tournament, so they did everything they could to speed up the experience for us. Our food came out fairly quickly and they brought our bill and complimentary cookies in advance instead of after we finished eating which was great. My husband is a big cookie guy and he said these were some of the best cookies he has ever eaten! Truly the perfect cookie. And even better that they were a free treat at the end of our meal! Everyone was so kind and welcoming here. The service was great, we had people coming by regularly to refill our coffees and waters. We were never left waiting for anything that we needed. The staff said they do not do any advertising and rely on Yelp to get the word out about their restaurant. The Top 100 Restaurants of 2023 was recently released and I just happened to be traveling to Vegas so I figured I'd add this spot to my list since I was getting into town on the earlier side and I am always looking for a great hole in the wall breakfast place... and I sure did find a hidden treasure off the strip with this place! Don't let the fact that it's located in a strip mall off the strip deceive you as it's filled with the friendliest staff and most delicious food! The Crab Cake Benedict was mouthwatering! The delectable flavor combination between the crab cakes and hollandaise sauce was unmatched. The home fries they were served with were cooked with spices that made you keep coming back for more... made me think of the "once you pop the fun don't stop" slogan that Pringles uses because there were no home fries left behind! HOLD THE PHONE... Did someone say country fried steak?! Oh boy, if you go this route, you are in for a treat and a deliciously full belly! The country fries steak was phenomenal. Just hands down the best I've ever had, and that gravy it came with, they could've covered the plate and I would've ate every last drop it was so good! These also came with home fries. I am not much of a potato person so they were kind enough to sub out the home fries for a biscuit... which after trying them with the Benedict plate I somewhat regretted it, but at the same time it allowed me to taste their biscuit and get a mini sample of the "biscuits and gravy." They pre-cut the biscuits in half and toast the insides so they are crisp and WHOA, what a game changer! But let's flip to the important topic... the steak... AND THE GRAVY! The steak was large, thinly sliced, but a healthy portion. It was lightly fried to perfection. The gravy was a thin, white gravy with some green onion, pepper and spices mixed in that gave it a great flavor! This meal selection also came with 2 eggs anyway... I went scrambled and cheesy! As we were finishing up our meal the waitress brought our check along with a sample of their homemade chocolate chip cookies! The shrimp were cooked perfectly and the sauce was really nice as well. The gravy on the chicken fried steak was really good and we really enjoyed our meal here. Absolutely loved coming here. I usually try to find food off the strip when we come to visit Las Vegas and we found this place on a whim. We brought in our family of five with three little kiddos and right away. They asked if we wanted to order for them and get them fed as soon as possible, and it made me so happy. Not only did they cater to us, but the food was to die for from the fluffy pancakes to the amazing cinnamon roll was amazing. The service was great. It is very colorful and our ceramic coffee mugs matched the floors! Our server greeted us at the door and was SO SWEET and attentive throughout our whole meal. Food 5/5: The coffee was freshly brewed and was very good! I ordered the country fried steak. The steak itself is different than I have had it at other restaurants but I definitely still loved it. We also had the spinach and crab fondue which was so rich, creamy, and delicious! Both were appetizers but definitely big portions! We were looking for a new breakfast spot and Zenaida's is so highly rated (and close to where we live) so we decided to come in on a Sunday around 10am to try them out. At first, I was worried. The chef and the server seemed to be having a bit of a spat through the window about the to-go order placed by the couple in front of us. I felt a bit awkward but decided to listen in anyway because I'm a busybody and because we were standing there waiting for a table, as said server kept telling us it would be a minute while he was trying to place the order and talking to the chef. A minute turned out to be about 7 but who's counting? ;) After we sat, he asked for our drinks but then forgot and people who were seated after us were getting their drinks before us. Completely forgiven though because when he realized, he came over and told us he forgot and was very apologetic. I can't be mad at someone who take accountability for a mistake and I wish more people were like this. My worries were washed away by the time we got our food. I got the shrimp and avocado Benedict (highly recommended by our server) and my mans got the steak and eggs. The food here is AMAZING! The meals sound simple but they are cooked so well, filled with delicious flavor and are fresh as can be. You can tell the chef is a true professional and cares about what he sends out. I cannot stress enough just how good the whole plate of food was, especially those home fries. Then send me come free chocolate chip cookies with the check? Droooool. Oh and I bet you're wondering if that spat was anything to worry about? Nope, just two passionate people, who care about their jobs and want the best for their customers. I first dined here six years ago, and the quality of the food and service has not declined in any way. What you'll find here is a cut above the standard diner fare that you'd expect from an Eastside breakfast joint. The dishes showcase complex, well-developed flavors, but do so in a way that is not ostentatious or over-the-top. The atmosphere is relaxed and pleasant, and the staff are incredibly friendly. Amber and Toby are exceptional servers, and they made our visit very special. The real star here is the food, of course, but everything about the experience is positive. I had one of the most flavorful vegetarian breakfast tacos ever at Zenaida's cafe. Very interesting presentation... grated cheddar melted and cooled so it sticks to the outer surface of tacos before adding the soyrizo filling. Roasted potatoes were also delicious. One suggestion I have is to give the dish a different name because they also have breakfast tacos with regular chorizo. If my friend hadn't reminded the waitress that I am vegetarian, I'd have ended up with ordering the wrong dish. read more

It's in an off the beaten path shopping center, and we weren't sure if they were open from the outside but we walked up and opened the door. The inside has an old school diner feel--funky multi color tile, old rat pack art on the wall, nothing fancy. We ordered the avocado toast with a side of eggs and bacon, and the eggs Benedict. I wish we took photos! The food came out presented as if you were at an upscale brunch spot, and my husband said it's one of his top favorite Benedict spots now. The has browns were crispy and hot, the avocado toast was full of flavor and the bacon looks like butcher shop bacon. Everything was fantastic! Then we got two fresh cookies as we paid our bill. Amazing service and even better food! It wasn't too busy during this Saturday morning so we were able to be seated right away. The energy/ambiance was very welcoming from the moment we walked in (mom and pop shop). The menu is simple and sweet - it's not crazy like other places where there is no quality control. With that said, the food was great when we received it. My party ordered the country fried steak, Kiona's pancake stack, and the breakfast stack sandwich. So good and filling! I personally had the country fried steak and it was very well seasoned. The gravy was so flavorful with pieces of sausage in it. The service staff always took care of us and came by to check on us multiple times for water, if the food was to our liking, etc. The service staff and chefs are awesome people and so kind.
