They also have ube, black sesame, and green tea ice cream, which are some of my favorite flavors, so I'm already planning my next visit. We tried the chrysanthemum jelly as well as the guilinggao and enjoyed both, the jellies are so refreshing topped with coconut milk and honey. The owner of the whole Plaza was kind of rude though and didn't let us sit there to finish drinking our Boba because he said we had to order actual food to stay in the area. I sorrowfully miss Grand Harmony, a dim sum restaurant. With a family member we ordered coffee $1.75 and herbal ice tea $3.50 respectively were very mediocre, but I was very dehydrated from NYC's plaguing humidity and it got the job done. I got the passionfruit jadedew and my friend got the coffee latte and they were both pretty good. The only reason this place isn't five stars is that I wish mine had a little more sweetness or passionfruit to it bc it was quite clear and not as "refreshing" but the latte one I was actually impressed by. We were able to order in the machine and it took them maybe 5mins to make our drinks. This may be my favorite bubble tea spot in chinatown yet. It's located in the food court on Mott St. They sell a variety of milk tea and other desserts and ice cream. I ordered a classic Hong Kong milk tea with bubble and it tasted great! They use evaporated milk so the tea and milk flavor was very concentrated, just the way I like it. The boba texture is good as well. The prices are typical for the area. I didn't get to try their desserts but I would be interested to revisit and try them out next time. read more

While running an errand in NYC's Chinatown, my partner, cousin and I stumbled into the Mott Street Eatery located at 98 Mott Street just open since last November. Upon arrival, the space offers several tables for patrons to enjoy their meal with a small stage in the back. There are 10 food stalls which seven are currently occupied offering dumplings, congee, and siu mei like roast duck and char siu. Some of the meats are available over rice with two, three, or four choices ($7.50, $9, $9.50). We stopped at Zhen Pin Cafe selling bubble teas, ice cream, and baked goods, but for now, only coffee and a kind of sweet drinkable yogurt in plastic cups are sold. We got a lemon cake, apple turnover, sponge cake, regular coffee and baked brûlée milk latte bubble tea featuring a creamy milk tea custard under a layer of crunchy caramelized sugar and topped with clear tapioca pearls in brown sugar syrup. I actually witnessed how the staff was making it and used a small torch to caramelized the sugar. It was deliciously sweet and refreshing especially with the clear pearls. It's the perfect destination for a casual, quick bite to eat where all is authentic, fairly priced, fresh, & delicious. Stop by and give this place a try. read more

Great tiny bakery located in Mott Street Eatery! It's one of the few bakeries that are open on the later side, which is a huge plus. They have lots of yummy baked goods, and some unique drinks and desserts that most other bakeries don't have. They had small tubs of matcha ice cream for sale!
