My favorite place to get pizza in the Dallas area. I'm from NY and love pizza of all kinds, and Zoli's has a great thin crust and Detroit style as well. I prefer the Detroit style, but my son prefers the thin. Good overall menu too, more than just pizza. Good pastas and apps. Came here this past Saturday evening with a friend. There was a wait when we arrived. It was about 30min. When were being walked to our table we noticed how crowded it was inside. They were definitely at capacity.. when we sat down our waitress greeted us and asked us for our drink order. She came back with our drinks. Then we ordered an appetizer. Someone else brought out our appetizer. We ordered the garlic knots. It was delicious. But after receiving our appetizer that's when our waitress disappeared for almost an hour.. we didn't even get silverware or plates. We literally used our hands to eat because we were starving. My friend and I were so irritated because we were ready to order. We noticed the waitress had way too many tables to attend also. The restaurant looked like it was understaffed. We ended up getting the attention of a man who was bringing out someone's food next to us. He ended up taking our order and apologized. He stated the restaurant was "busy" ....but that is no excuse to have our waitress disappear. He also told us that they ran out of square pizza. The only reason why we came to Zolis was to order their square pizza. We asked him how did the table next to us get to order the square pizza because we saw it being brought out to them and we arrived at the same time. He stated he would go back to the kitchen and ask. On this visit I ordered the chicken alfredo and my husband had ordered the penne with Italian sausage and we ended up switching plates halfway so that we could enjoy a little of each. My favorite was definitely the penne pasta with the Italian sausage and whipped ricotta, it was the perfect balance of savory and the creamy richness of the whipped ricotta gave it such a good balance. Been on the list to try for a while now, finally got my fix yesterday - I will definitely be back. All the pies look amazing - tell me you only make 20 square pies (Sicilian) a day and I'm trying one for sure, it did not disappoint. NY White, garlicky & Parmaseany - the Sicilian crust is light, almost fluffy, with a great crunch - just amazing. Went with everything but the bagel seasoned crust. The guys in that kitchen are putting out delicious pizza! You will not be disappointed. Drinks were fantastic - I had a spicy tequila based cocktail, if both those things are up your alley, this drink is for you. They had the World Cup on the TV's which was a bonus. Horrible service, no manager in sight. Severely understaffed & under trained. So many other good pizza businesses around, so won't be coming back. Went on Saturday at 8:30pm, but it wasn't super busy. Still took 15-20 min to sit down because hostess was overwhelmed with one large party. Sat down & ordered a Caesar salad & drinks. We got our drinks & waitress never came back. We saw her running around but never acknowledged us. 20 min later we flagged down another waiter to order pizza and asked for our salad. Finally waitress came back to deliver salad & apologized. They never gave us silverware so we waited again for some. Guy came back with plastic silverware only. Pizza was mediocre at best. No flavor for the Lil' Troy. Just a lot of cold ricotta on a pizza. The honey bastard was decent but had so much oil & grease it soaked up the entire pizza. Yum! Finally got a chance to try Zoli's after becoming aware of it through following Thunderbird on IG. M and I tried the Bleecker Chop salad and the Supreme. I loved the NY style pizza and the pepperoni that curled up into cups. But I think I might have loved the salad more than the pizza. The cubed salami tossed with all the yummy veggies and a vinaigrette was a really nice pairing for the pizza. M picked up the food and we heated up the pizza at home. The service was great, all the servers are friendly and have a sense of urgency you want when dining. The food is great, I've had the El Supremo, which was great. For those who didn't know.. which we definitely didn't.. the restaurant is Star Wars themed. (We both have never watched any of the movies so we didn't know that Zolis is a name of a ship), but it was tastefully decorated (not too over the top). The restaurant was really nice and clean. The street it's located on, Midway, has a lot of construction that makes getting into the parking lot a little challenging. But overall, we loved our experience here! The food was amazing and our service was pretty quick! Our waitress Katelyn was really sweet and gave us all the detailed information we needed. We were in and out within 40 minutes. We ordered the Truffle fries to start with jalapeño ranch, the ranch wasn't too spicy, the fries were yummy! Very fresh. The 2 pizzas we ordered were the "Lil Troy" deep dish style- and it was really delicious!, the other pizza was the Nashville Hot Pizza with pickles and ranch, it is the Pizza of the Month for September 2023, a little spicy for me but overall love the balance of sauce and ranch. There's construction going on this restaurant so it was a journey to find ways to get in the parking lot because there's only one lane to go in and out of the parking lot. The first time we passed the entrance, a car from the street blocked the entrance. The second time we passed the entrance, another car was coming out. My boyfriend and I ordered a wedge salad and requested that they split it for us. The waiter said that the restaurant doesn't split orders - but when the salad arrived, it wasn't in wedge form. The salad was chopped up iceberg lettuce for a normal salad. It was a delicious salad though. We ordered a meat fight square while my friends ordered a Spangler round. The Spangler, while delicious, was probably not enough for my two friends to share. My boyfriend and I shared a slice - while I thought this pizza was perfect, my boyfriend thought it was too cheesy.. My boyfriend and I shared a square meat fight, half without jalapeños. I thought I could handle the spice from the jalapeños, but I didn't really enjoy it. The crust was good but I preferred the Spangler more. My boyfriend preferred the fight. We rarely go out for pizza, but we heard that this place was amaze balls so decided to give it a whirl! We arrived at 5pm and wanted to have a little happy hour before ordering food. We sat at the bar for our first couple of rounds and then made our way to a table. We shared the burger as an appetizer because we heard it was a top burger choice in DFW and we can definitely validate that. Sooooo yummy! We shared the NY White Pizza but added pepperoni because clearly if you're gonna have a burger as an "appetizer" for pizza there's no reason to stop being fat when you get to the actual pizza.
