We have gone here multiple times over the last few years. Pizza is decent and flavors are usually good. Always love to support local; however, quality is definitely hit and miss. This review is for a recent visit. Sorry, but you're only as good as your worst experience. Last night I ordered the arugula pesto pizza with cauliflower crust (directly from their menu: "Cauliflower crust with basil pesto and mozzarella, topped with a salad of baby arugula, fresh mozzarella, heirloom tomatoes, house made lemon vinaigrette, fresh avocado, and a balsamic glaze drizzle"). When my husband got home, it was discovered that they didn't give us half the pizza ~ missing the arugula, fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, and dressings. Um, a major oversight! The kid's extra large cheese pizza had places where the crust was so thin, that you could see through it from the bottom. Appears quality and attention to detail is suffering. Not as COVID-19 friendly as they should be. When my husband went to pick up the order, they apparently don't openly offer curbside pick up. When he asked about it, it was like the person had never had someone inquire about it, which would be surprising considering the times. This needs to be a standard offer for pick up, as is with most restaurants at this time. Not sure if we will be returning anytime soon. read more

Everyone who works here is so great and always cheerful. They have always gotten my orders right and deliver on time. I also pick up my orders and they always make sure it's correct before I leave. Had the worst experience ever! Waited over 2 hours at the store after I ordered on the phone. The manager, Doug was not managing the operation and instead was cutting pizzas while the customers were waiting for hours to get their order. He is completely unfit for the position. When customers complained, he basically said too bad and cancel your order. The delivery guy, Caden finally got the place running properly. I watched at least 5 customers vow to never be back again. Worst BBQ pizza I've ever had the displeasure of eating. Fake chicken, flavorless sauce, and what tasted like fake cheese.

Disgusting and worse service ever. Went in and asked how long the wait was and was told 10 minutes. 30 minutes later and forty dollars later I walk up to counter to see where my 2 large pizzas were. They pull them out of a heating unit. Really. You didn't see me sitting there. Not to mention I was the only one in the store. So at that point I wish I had not tipped $4.00 for crappy service. But it gets worse. I get home and open up my cold pizzas. I ordered the Hawaiian pizza but there wasn't a drop of sauce on it. The pepperoni pizza was burned. Needless to say I will not go back to this location. I will call the manager tomorrow because obviously the crew on night shift isn't very bright. read more

The pizza literally has no taste. Some of the worst pizza I've ever had. It tastes like a piece of cardboard. A slice of Costco pizza tastes better and is cheaper than zpizza. But it is sure convenient, when I am too lazy to drive more than 5 minutes for pizza, and it is nice that they have pizza by the slice available all day. I definitely don't recommend zpizza to anyone looking to actually enjoy their meal, but if you are looking for convenience, live in Ladera Ranch, and sick of the other fast food options in town, it is a decent option. read more

Tonight my husband and I ordered 2 small pizzas from the Ladera Ranch Z-Pizza. I ordered a Mexican pizza and my husband a pepperoni & pineapple. We picked up the pizza and when we got home and opened the box we discovered that the avocadoes on my pizza were totally brown and rotten. We called the store to explain to them what happened. They told us that they would only make my pizza or refund us for my pizza but not my husband's. I asked them if they could just re-make both pizzas since we wanted to eat together and his would either be cold by the time we got back or he'd eat his pizza while I drove back and got mine not the movie and a dinner night at home we'd planned at all. The manager there was TOTALLY rude to us. So my husband asked him to just refund our money and we would order from the next closest Z-Pizza from now on. The manager STILL refused to return our money but instead gave us a store credit .... as if we will EVER order from there again after this experience. This is a horrible location. Z-Pizza is supposed to be known for their fresh ingredients and this location does not live up to the quality you normally expect from Z-Pizza. They also have horrible customer service and obviously don't care about repeat customers. I wish I could post a picture of this pizza, but you'll have to take my word for it. Sadly disappointed! Haven't been to "Z" since I lived in Irvine so we were ready for a treat & we got 2 different flavors off the menu & the dough was not flavorful & the toppings were beyond skimpy! I even asked for an additional topping (chiles) and they left them off! Note: I used a local come try us out coupon & wondered if that was why they skimped & left us wondering why we didn't just go to the local Pizza Hut where we go when we aren't feeling as rich! Giving one star was being generous. The customer service was the worst I've ever experienced. I ordered at 4:40 and at 5:30 I called to see where my pizza delivery was and they put me on hold for 5 minutes. I called back and before I could say a word they put me on hold again. I called again and the little girl I spoke to was rude and no help to my concern over delivery. It is now an hour and 20 minutes later and no pizza. What a joke. Very rude staff and owner!! After suggesting a 15 minute wait for a $15 medium cheese pizza, I went to the grocery store to pass some of the time. Went back after around 15 minutes and the pizza wasn't even started!!! NOTE: the place was almost empty - so no good excuse for the delay. I had to stand around and wait - all the while the staff (and owner) were chatting and laughing without an attempt to apologize. Even after I phoned to complain - no sign of contrition. QUESTIONABLE VALUE. I live in Ladera Ranch, and this restaurant is in a nice location. It is surrounded by a several quaint looking shops in an upscale shopping center. I went to ZPizza on 07/23/15 for the first time. I ordered two slices of pepperoni pizza and a soft drink. The cost of a slice of pepperoni pizza was $2.98, or call it $3.00. This, to me, is ridiculously high. Consider that you can get a slice of pepperoni pizza, twice as large, at Costco for $1.00. The pizza I had was dry and not very tasty. In my opinion, A pizza place should specialize in its Pizza. I was served quickly by the cashier and so I thought the service was good. Based on my experience, I rate Z Pizza a "4" on service and a "1" on food. It is likely I wont be back based on my first impression. read more

I went here for lunch the other day just because I was out shopping with a friend at Kohl's nearby and we were craving pizza. Neither of us had tried Z Pizza, so we were like "heck, why not" and stopped here. First off, service was horrible....second off, the pizza was as thin as cardboard and way overpriced. I gave this 4 stars because something happened that I thought was very professional. I ordered pizza online and when it was delivered, there was a mistake on the order. It was 5-6 ish on a Friday night, so I figured I'd get static because they would of course be busy. Well the manager (I believe he was a manager) replaced the pizza at no charge and delivered it personally to our house in 20 mins tops. You don't see that kind of service anymore. I never leave reviews but had to for my beloved Zpizza. I worked at this store when it opened 15 years ago. I would rave about it to everyone I knew. We just bought two pizzas for the first time in a couple years and I'm majorly depressed about it. Seems they've changed everything from the cheese, sauce, CRUST. The crust used to be sooo soft and delicious. Now it's hard, and so is the cheese. And they didn't have ricotta cheese anymore (what?!). I'm sure a lot has changed--too much. Sadly, both my husband and I feel like there's no need to go back. Not until they bring back the originals!! Lots of pizza choices around here. We happen to like Z Pizza over the others. Never had a gross or greasy pizza delivered. The pizzas (The Casablanca is awesome) are fresh, not sloppy or just thrown together. The delivery drivers are always prompt and very polite. Also like some of the add ons' like the Mediterranean plate or the Pesto Pasta. Overall we like it. It's pizza, not a shuttle launch. People like what they like and Z Pizza is very good pizza. Your mileage may vary, but for me, this is the go too for Pizza and a movie night. read more

I have had better food in county lock up. It was so bad that we literally drove it back to the location for a refund. 3 days later, no calls and no refund. Decided to try Z Pizza one last time.. I ordered delivery x large pizza and salad.. The pizza was cooked perfectly just the right amount of cheese and toppings. Delivery was quick and the girl that delivered the pizza was friendly. The new manager is making great changes with food and employees. I once was a 1 star z pizza yelper now I am 4. Z Pizza is worth a second or third chance and if you haveva problem ask the new manager to help you. He is all about customer service. read more
