I was spoiled by the excellent service, attitude, food quality and management of the San Clemente ZPizza. I am sorry to say how disappointed I was with my experience in Ladera Ranch. The food quality was okay - what was lacking was management on-site, over staffing of goofing off workers, dirty tables, and no common sense customer service. Three young men behind the counter were making crude remarks about girls, one young lady who was getting "trained" trying to figure out how to fit in, all while the tables needed to be wiped clean, ignoring the in-store customer (me), and setting a poor example for the owners of this franchise. This place is a joke with horrible customer service! We went in tonight for a piece of cheese pizza and pasta. There 7 workers and less customers...we ask if they have pasta because wasn't on menu. They tell us on take out menu, which was incorrect. We ask again and told yes, ask what type, and rudely told pasta noodle and meatballs, as if we were bothering them. After prying the price out them, we were told 20 minutes for a pasta and the place was empty. We asked for last piece of pizza also and were told it was set aside for us. After 20 minutes, pasta was ready and pizza was not available..hence another 10 minutes. No apathy and just a waste of time. Won't ever be back to this place! Pretty good pizza, don't understand why most other locations have the online ordering system and this location doesn't. Also, when we call to order, the employees don't know what hours they are open... weird. It's a LOT easier to order online when you have a large order, to avoid mistakes made by employees. Okay so I love Yelp. I tore this pizza place apart previously. I've lived in Ladera Ranch for about a year and a half and I gave them four previous opportunities and they failed miserably. Yesterday after not having pizza for a long time I thought I give them another shot. Guillermo, the new customer service manager in charge and has taken The challenge to turn their product and service around and did an unbelievable job. I started off my phone call with the complaint and they've directed me to him and he took charge of the situation. I like Zpizza when I want something fast and close to home. It's about 7 minutes drive for someone that lives in Ladera. Calling ahead and picking it up is the best way to get food from here - most people do this. The first time I went here, we ordered there and some people seemed to think we were crazy for not calling it in and taking it out. They do have seating outside if you want to eat there. It's a fairly good value for what you pay. I will definitely go back if I want pizza fast in the neighborhood. I love ZPizza, but you can tell this location is suffering from a lackluster performance. I usually order a lunch combo, and then you are out of luck. Really, for my combo with 2 slices I have two kinds of pizzas to choose from? And from the look of the two choices I am wondering how long they have been sitting in the presentation-glass-hut-thingy. To me it looks like a perfect example of a food joint that has not enough customers and has given up, taking shortcuts to lower their expenses and therefore compromise quality. Similar to Kim's review, I had a unique experience. Saturday night, ordered at 530. Was quoted an hour to an hour 15, and called at an hour 15 to check in. Long story short, showed up at an hour 40. By that time, the guy I spoke to on the phone already said he would comp the pizza. I open the box to find a pizza covered in anchovies, that I didn't order. One of two or three toppings that you can't just pick off. I called back, fortunately laughing because I couldn't even be angry at this point. Guillermo (manager maybe?) apologized and showed up at my door 20 minutes later with my pizza. I've spent a good amount of money at Z pizza over the years here, and would have shut it off over something like this. Guillermo impressed me to the point where I will order more gladly. The pizza is what it is. It's not some hidden gem that secretly imported New York water and makes the best pizza you have ever tasted. However, the toppings are good, the cheese is good, and is better for the kids than the garbage from Pizza Hut (can give you a hangover without drinking). Ladera isn't ripe with great pizza options since lamppost left, but I'll take Z pizza over the rest, especially after what Guillermo did tonight. It's worth the extra wait. read more

I was super nervous ordering a pizza from this place after they changed ownership, but was surprised how good the pizza was. I ordered a small mushroom pizza for my girlfriend and a large cheese pizza for me and the kids .Pizza came in 20 minutes, was hot and tasted really good. The driver forgot the sodas, so he said he would be back in ten minutes . I had already paid and gave him a tip , so I thought there was no way he would come back. He did and apologized for forgetting. No problem people make mistakes and that's ok , if they correct it. Will definitely order again. Excellent service , super polite and great pizza. Zpizza is a favorite for me, especially in Ladera Ranch because I live nearby. You always have hot pizza ready for me when I walk in and the associates are always talkative and enjoyable to be around with a youthful, exciting, and respectful presence. A few weeks ago when I came in, a young man with curly hair and a hat facing backwards helped me out with my order, and even helped bring it to my car because it was more than one pizza. That was wonderful and made my night. I really appreciate the customer service here, and that is why I have made it my go-to for pizza because there are so many healthy options available as well, including the gluten free options. If you're into mediocrity, this place is for you. I have only been here once, and I don't plan on returning. Bought 2 slices, and at most other pizza places, they will take a slice and throw it in the over for a couple of minutes, but not at zPizza, What is sitting under the heat lamp is what you get. I was surprised when he boxed it up immediately, and disappointed. Eating it did not change my thoughts. We used to LOVE zpizza. We would order almost once a week since 2011. The service and food have deteriorated significantly over the years. We used to put up with the terrible service (lost orders, long delivery times, etc) because the pizza was SO good. Now i can't even say that. Today (Tuesday) ordered our usual at 530 and they said the projected delivery time was 645. I accepted that and placed the order. At 7, our order still was not here so I called. The line was busy and I could not reach anyone after several attempts. The pizza finally showed up (the delivery people are always so nice and apologetic). The pizzas were warm at best and the avocado was significantly browned (I'll try to post a picture. This is my first yelp post). For shame. Looks like we need to find a new pizza place. read more

With having a gluten free allergy it takes quite some work to find good food near me. However Z-Pizza came in clutch for me the other night. I got back from work kind of late totally exhausted and with the no desire to make food at all. Now since I have a gluten allergy pizza is not a common meal for me, but I REALLY wanted pizza. I read a great review on Z-Pizza's gluten free crust and couldn't resist. They close at 9:00 pm and when I called just before they stop delivering they told me that they would do their best to get a pizza out to me ASAP. The delivery showed up within 35 min and it looked as if it had just come out of the oven. The fresh ingredients they used on their California Veggie without question were the best veggies I have ever had. I don't give 5 star reviews often but this place was one for the books, I will for sure be telling all my friends to come here as this will now be a weekly stop of mine. read more

We order from this zpizza probably once per month. We eat a soy free dairy free diet and often times it is very difficult to be accomodated. But this place does provide vegan dough, which is critical. The pizza's are pretty good but nothing to write home about. The service is hit or miss, on busy weekend they have been known to screw up an order on more than 3 occasions but over all they are ok and im glad to have then nearby read more
