The guy in front of me, Deng, looked at me with such envy as he cut in line. This place is incredibly popular! Every time I pass by, there's a long queue. Even on rainy days, people are willing to get soaked in the rain just to have a bowl of hot tonkotsu ramen. While you're queuing, the staff will hand out menus. The ordering system is similar to Ichiran Ramen; you can choose the noodle firmness, broth consistency, spiciness, green onions, oil level, and MSG amount . The basic ramen is only $13. I added a soft-boiled egg and pickled cabbage for $2 each. Although the pickled cabbage is really expensive , I can't help it, I'm a pickled cabbage addict! The pickled cabbage paired with the rich tonkotsu broth was refreshing. The broth was flavorful but not greasy, the noodles were chewy and springy, and the portion size was just right. Overall, it's incredibly good value for money; no wonder there's always a queue. After eating, you really get that "Ah~ this is the taste of happiness" feeling

This time, still a line, but it went faster. This is definitely not a sit down and enjoy your meal w anyone. Order your food from a slip of paper you're given so that by the time you sit, they collect it and place the order. Seats are hard and it is devised where you and then leave. I had the goma vegetarian and my brother the tonkatsu. We both had thicker noodles. However, one could not tell. The vegetarian was loaded with sesame seeds. Now i love those seeds but it was way too much for my liking. Too much seeds to chew on. They also do not put any vegetables on like Hawaii does. Everything is ala carte and that adds up. I simply chose the ramen version without all the add ons. The broth was yummy but again with the loaded seeds, it made it challenging to just drink the soup. I will say, Hawaii has by far better ramen, but this place was ok too. Pricey for for what you get though.

The food was delicious, filling, and great value. While I found ratio of chicken to noodles was fairly low, I was otherwise impressed by the meal and would certainly go back for it. The restaurant itself had a nice ambiance to it and the staff were attentive.

She brought up some kind of stamp card with a promotion which could help give us some kind of discount off our bill. A small discount around 10 - 15% off but any kind of discount is better than no discount. In addition to getting us this discount she also helped me to sign up for the rewards program on the app which earned me a free appetizer, so we got to enjoy a free order of Takoyaki with our meal. It used to be that there was a physical stamp card and in order to get the stamp, you'd have to finish every last drop in your bowl every time you come to visit. Seems like they are doing away with that system and replacing it with a digital rewards system. Our server helped to transfer what was on my physical card over to my new digital account on the app. Now with the app, I just have to show a QR code instead of the stamp card, and although the restaurant would probably prefer us all to still finish every last drop in our bowl, it seems that is no longer an absolute requirement for getting our "stamp" in the app. I like this new direction that they've taken!

Well, she surprised her mom recently when we went to Bene Sushi and she actually wanted to try one of the "Exotic Rolls". She still wanted some of her usual stuff, which was Dynamite Roll and Avocado Roll, but in addition she also wanted to try the Ambleside Roll. I was quite full from our lunch earlier in the day and my original plan was to order a salad. However, when she suggested sharing some rolls with each other, and expressed an interest in trying something new...how could I not jump at the opportunity to see my child trying something new? Of course I would share with her! It meant stuffing myself silly but hey...my child wanted to try something new and if that meant eating carbohydrate heavy sushi rolls instead of a light salad...so be it! All 3 rolls were awesome. My personal favourite is still the Avocado roll. Even though it's a simple roll, this restaurant does it so well every time...it never fails to impress me. Avocados can go brown so easily, but every time we order Avocado roll from Bene Sushi, it is generously packed with avocado and the avocado is always such a bright and beautiful green colour. I don't know how they manage to always have perfectly ripe avocados for their sushi. I really commend them for it.
