Went there for date night with the gf who was in a weird mood, so I decided to see how this place could diffuse the situation. We walked in and were greeted by people behind the counter to our right, which is where they handle the take-out orders (of which there were many). We were seated immediately, an we started perusing the menu. I kind of wanted a calzone but she wanted a pizza, and I think by this point I had decided to just give her whatever she wanted. So we split a pizza, I got my two toppings on my side and she got her two on hers. The waitress took the order and then we talked about our miscommunications. We ended up resolving whatever trivial differences we might have had, and even if we hadn't, the ceremonial bringing forth of the pizza would have made everything fine. It comes out piping hot and they serve you your first slice from that elevated pizza tray thing. The pizza was delicious, and my gf wants everyone to know that it reheats well the next day (which she says is an important facet of a good pizza). I don't review the food, but it must be legit because the family next to us were 2nd Gens from New York and the teenagers at another nearby table were speaking native Italian. The ambiance is good for a first date, especially if you have no idea what your date likes. The booths that line the sides of the dining room feel safe and intimate (good for introverts), there's a wine list (to loosen the tongue...for talking), and Italian food is an easy crowd pleaser (unless your date has acid reflux). I've actually heard the wings are pretty good, but don't you dare get wings on your first date. Also, the price for the pizza-split thing with someone comes to just over $30. Oh, another thing my gf wanted me to tell everyone is to not even bother ordering the iced tea. It's way too watered down, so if you do order it make sure that it's a new batch. read more

Zuccarelli's has become one of my go-to neighborhood Italian. Pros: Great food quality, big tasty Chicken Wings, amazing minestrone soup which consists of a delicious broth with loads of fresh veggies with a bit of noodles and it's not too beany. The fettuccine alfredo is creamy and tasty, the penne a la vodka is equally delicious, amazing garlic rolls and fast delivery. Cons: I am very picky about my marinara sauce and I found Zuccarelli's sauce to be a bit too sweet for my liking - next time I will request for less sweet more salt and see if they accommodate my request, also the spinach calzone could use a little more spinach. read more

l visited for the first time this evening and loved how open and welcoming the restaurant was. When I walked in I was greeted by someone and ultimately talked with 3 other people! (one was a friendly local) There were at least 4 tables sat and myself and one other party there for takeout. I got a small Margherita pizza with sausage and let me tell you, it was heaven on earth A small is about 12-14" and is more than enough for one person. I also loved the garlic rolls, make sure you get warm marinara sauce.The final verdict: as delicious as they are kind and I hope they stay busy. Zuccarelli recently opened a new restaurant in Pompano, taking the place of the failed Nick's. This poor location seems to be cursed, because nothing lasts here very long. On our visit here, service was spotty. Even though it was not busy, and the restaurant is small, we had to wait a bit longer than we should have for things like water or napkins. We ordered the mozzarella sticks, and were a little disappointed to find out they were the exact same kind that Arby's serves. It's not that they taste bad, it's just that I expect more of an Italian restaurant than for them to buy these frozen things from a supplier. Our spirits brightened once we tasted their garlic rolls. They were delicious, and rivaled the best rolls in the area (from Gianni's). When it came time to order for our meal, I asked how big the calzone was. She made it sound relatively small, so I ordered it, saying how I didn't want a gigantic one. And when the food came out... viola, it's a humongous calzone (I could only eat about a third of it). It was decent... perhaps a little bland. I had considered ordering a slice of the sicilian pizza instead, and I regretted that. I can't say our experience was great, but rather just middle-of-the-road. I think I'll stick to ordering pizza if I come back here. read more

We got into town late and just wanted to order some pizza to our hotel. Called to order two pizzas and stuffed mushrooms. Gentleman on phone that took order was so polite! We've been to Zuccarelli many times. We've never been disappointed. It's a family business. We had an adorable assistant wait person, 8 years old, who was helping her mother. She was wonderful! The food is fantastic. The portions are huge. The prices are great. My favorite is Veal Rossini. It's 4 pieces of veal lightly breaded served with fresh tomatoes and a light wine sauce over pasta. It's delicious. The pizza is excellent, as well. It's nice and crispy. The restaurant feels like an old world family Italian restaurant. The atmosphere and the good are both outstanding. Upon the nostalgic but sad news...I needed chicken parm like I need a lobotomy....& those garlic rolls that you burp up in the best of ways for days after you've eaten them My first time at the Pompano store was definitely greeted by the familiar faces of Zuccarelli of Margate circa early 2000s. The chicken parm tastes the same (thank goodness) and Chris/Red, our cheerful and welcoming server, was exemplary on the floor! Touché! So glad to have rediscovered this gem! I was staying at a resort nearby and they literally delivered to the tiki bar so definite kudos for that. Pizza was good, lots of toppings. Stopped in this place tonight because it was close and we are so glad we did. Food was great, portions were good and service was wonderful. We got an antipasto salad (large) which didn't skimp on the meat/cheese and angel hair with meat sauce which came with soup or salad and we opted for wedding soup (since we had antipasto) and then ordered a side of meatballs. They brought us plenty of bread also. We have leftovers for tomorrow and the meal was under $40 (not including tip). We wanted to try a dessert but we were too full! This place was a real find. On an early 4:30PM Monday evening by 5:30PM this place was 90% full. I ordered a Lamb Chop special which included coffee, salad, homemade garlic bread and of course lamb chops. Ordered them rare!. My coffee was kept warm. My salad was clean, crisp and cold. The hot, out of the oven, Italian garlic bread was golden brown smothered in warm garlic chunks and olive oil/butter. The ever so tender (four) lamb chops perfectly done seared on the outside were over a half inch thick and over three and a half inches in diameter bone on piled on mashed potatoes having been topped of with a light butter mushroom gravy. All this was $28.84 including tax. I've never been so satisfied and my tip reflected my total satisfaction! read more

Our friends have been raving about this place so we decided to give it a go and join them for dinner. Parking was pretty easy in their adjacent lot, I was lucky enough to score a front row spot. Once inside you'll be greeted by the hostess and taken to an available table or booth. It's a large open dining room so it can get a little noisy. Our waitress promptly greeted us and took our drink order, beer and wine only. She also brought out waters for the whole table which quickly filled up a lot of real estate. We looked over the menu and pretty much all the usual suspects you'd expect to see in an Italian restaurant. Our table ordered sausage and peppers, veal Rossini, fried eggplant and for me, well I just ordered and appetizer fried calamari. The wait wasn't long and we chatted amongst ourselves solving all the worlds problems while we waited, lol. When our food came out everyone dug in. I sampled a bite of the veal, it was absolutely delicious. The sausage and peppers was a huge portion, enough for two if you're wondering. My wife loved her eggplant and my calamari was A okay. The service was fast and friendly and the prices were reasonable. It's a little off the beaten path for us so a nice welcome but will likely become an occasional, not regular routine for us. read more

The restaurant smells like fresh pizza. We had ordered garlic rolls and a NY Style Cheese Pizza. The rolls and the pizza made it home nice and hot. The food was fresh for sure. The pizza crust was crispy, the red sauce was low on the pizza, but on point, and the pizza had the right amount of cheese. The rolls were pretty good too, but they were missing something in the flavour. I will definitely go back for more. I recommend this place. read more

We walked in to find the restaurant doing a brisk business. My wife had a coupon from the Pelican for a free glass of wine so that already set the evening up for success. We were served some great garlic rolls and the meal itself were generous portions. My wife and friends all had the chicken park and I enjoyed the Eggplant parm. Being from New York, we were leery of Italian food here in Pompano, but it was as satisfying as a mall back home.
