This was my second trip to 101 Beer Kitchen. I love the rustic, private atmosphere, and the staff are courteous and attentive. I started with the housemade loaded tater tots and a glass of Riesling, followed by the black garlic Caesar salad. The salad was perfect and had the right balance. I ate every bite. My entree was a pretzel crusted chicken sandwich with a side of brown butter gnocchi. The chicken was tender and unique with a little kick. The tomato jam was light and didn't overpower. Love this place. Love it even more when they have a pretty cool new devour menu that's different than what's on their regular menu. I commend their originality! We decided to go for their devour menu as well as their regular menu. The appetizer was their roasted peach and ricotta toast and it was absolutely delicious that we didn't take a picture... oops. for the entree we ordered the pan seared airline chicken and the pork bahn mi. Both entrees were amazing. They were filling, juicy and perfectly seasoned. The pork in the bahn mi was so soft and chewy. The sauce was not overpowering whatsoever. The chicken and the butter bean puree was to die for! What a great combination. It even had a sweet tomato chimichurri on top! We went on Saturday night for dinner and it was surprisingly not busy. Our server, Bailey, recommended the Tuna and Soba bowl and she was right on the money. It was amazing. Oh boy, where do I even start? If you're looking for a restaurant that treats you like a massive inconvenience the second you walk in the door, 101 Craft Kitchen is the place for you! We arrived at 4:50 PM on a Saturday (you know, that time of day when most places are gearing up for dinner service), only to be told that they couldn't possibly seat us without a reservation. Okay, fine--except for the fact that the restaurant was half empty and tables were literally clearing from lunch service. But no, apparently, logic does not apply here. Then came the real kicker: They told us we could sit if we promised to be done in 20 minutes. TWENTY MINUTES. To eat a meal. With a six-month-old baby in tow. I actually thought they were joking at first, but no--they repeated themselves six separate times, as if the issue was that we just weren't understanding their ridiculous policy. And just when we thought we were in some alternate reality where dining out required signing a time-sensitive contract, they sat a table right before us, no issue whatsoever. Oh, and let's not forget the unsolicited lecture about how some brand new event center nearby has totally changed their ability to seat people (???) and how if you don't have a reservation, you should only bother coming Monday through Thursday. Excuse me--how is that our problem? Maybe post that on your website instead of cornering your customers and making them feel like idiots for thinking they could just... eat dinner at your restaurant. Bottom line: If you enjoy being talked down to, lectured, and treated like you're crashing a private event rather than trying to support a local business, this is the place for you! Really enjoyed our meal at 101 Beer Kitchen! We had a group of 6 and our waitress was very quick and kind. I started with a French 101 which was nice and light. We shared the pierogis and the pretzel. The pierogis were definitely the favorite! For my meal I had the Po' Boy which was delicious! The fish was well seasoned and the bread was toasted nicely. I love that every time I come here, there's an updated menu to match the seasons. The food is really good-fresh and flavorful, with a little something to suit the variety of tastes of everyone in the group. I travel to the area for work fairly often, and 101 is always a great option for an after work meet and greet. The staff is friendly and accommodating, and the patio is always a good choice. I initially visited when this place first opened and didn't really get back around to going again. This year I kind of "rediscovered" it! My most recent visit occurred shortly after they switched to their fall menu. This absolutely lives up to their claim to be seasonal. Their fall cocktails are delicious! The apple of my eye sangria is fall in a glass! I got the fall grilled cheese and soup which is the perfect comfort food in fall. The sandwich was Brie cheese with apple on sourdough. Great combo! It has a touch of sweetness from the apples with that gooey Brie. I wasn't super excited about the butternut squash soup but figured it would be fine. I was way off! I took one bite (slurp?) of that soup and was transported to Thanksgiving! Warm autumn slices with a dollop of crème fraiche made that soup some of the best I've had! The beet chips that came with the meal were a nice crispy touch and actually pretty on the tray too. I'll be back to try even more fall-inspired fare. Don't miss their brunch either. We were there during brunch hours, and my husband ordered the candied bacon as a starter (it's listed under sides lol). It was, in a word, yummy! I've also had one or two of their brunch dishes recently. Definitely worth a shout out! The patio here is awesome in the warmer months with plenty of room. They also can close it up when it's cool outside with a fireplace that adds atmosphere. Their tap list is nice too. We have noticed, however that in the last year there has been nearly 100% turnover in staffing and new Management. Like many staffing situation's, some are excellent, some are fair and some need to find a different career path. Lately, 101 has fallen below the high standards they have maintained over the past years. We visited the other night, and it took far too long for a very simple order to be delivered in the service was highly transactional, very impersonal, and not very responsive. Our sandwich, which is normally outstanding, was mediocre. We have always raved about the food, service and drinks and in fact, we have found that the chef's do an amazing job serving up very uniquely tasting dishes. Unfortunately things, have been on a decline of recent. This is a wake up call and I hope they step up and turn things around, or we will turn around and frequent other businesses. read more

Updated review 4/19 We ordered pickup from 101 Beer Kitchen! Since I do cook I like to order things that I can't make at home, so we ordered Shrimp and Grits. I customized hubby's with andouille sausage and mine with bacon. Each add in was an up charge but that was very clear on the online ordering platform, and since the base order is reasonably priced I didn't mind at all. Ordering online was easy on their website and our food was ready quickly. Pickup is super easy, they give you a phone number to call when you pull up to the restaurant. You call give them your order name and car make and model. A friendly guy came out with everything in a bag, happily put it in the insulated bag I had ready on my passenger seat (with heat already on the seat to aid in keeping the food hot), gave me a friendly smile and a Covid appropriate wave and was on his way back inside. The whole exchange took seconds and I was back on my way home. Their shrimp and grits is very good, with the butter, spice and proteins all nicely balanced. It's a good size portion, hubby didn't finish his and I only ate half of mine so he has leftovers! Very attentive and accommodating. The first drink I had was sort of strong and she had no problem taking it back and having something else made. The food was good. Loved the bacon ! I ate it as my entree after sharing it among friends. Yes , it's a nice size. The fried green tomatoes were great ! The tomato was firm and the breading was perfectly crisp. My fiancé and I are big fans of 101 beer kitchen. The food is always a 10/10 chefs kiss for us. The only downside is the menu rotates so if you fall in love with a dish it might not be there for long. I'm still mourning the loss of the vegan cauliflower steak... I'm still holding out hope it may be on autumn menu. The rotating menu does make for good variety so it provides you incentive to keep coming back for the amazing food. They have a good beer list if you are a beer person. I just haven't been a fan of the cocktail creations I've received yet so I definitely think their cocktail game needs work. No introduction is needed here! 101Beer Kitchen is a MUST visit! They combine 3 of my favorites all in one: vibe, food, service. When you walk in the feeling is very "inviting" and refreshing. The massive bar area with huge chandeliers steal the show with its tall ceiling and floral design behind it. If you want a little bit of intimacy, the tables in the two sectioned off rooms with neon signs provide a cozy atmosphere. I went for Sunday brunch and I can tell you per their diverse menu, you won't have any problems finding a good pairing of entrees and drinks (their servers are very knowledgeable about pairings as well). I tried the braised beef poutine, chicken gravy biscuit, smoked wings, lobster mac & cheese, pineapple cake...ummm, alllllll goooood. But even when it was packed, it wasn't too loud which was good. I hate not being able to hear the person across from me in some restaurants. We had a gift card to spend so we got three appetizers, 2 entrees, and a wedge salad to split among all of us. We also all had a beer. I really enjoyed the Raspberry Hefeweizen. The jalapeño poppers were very pretty and tasted great, but you only get 4 for $11 so I probably wouldn't order them again. I could have eaten 4 on my own. The wings were good -- I loved their house-made blue cheese!!. For some reason I expected the Whipped Ricotta Dip to be warm so I got sensory shock on the first bite. The steak was great but I loved the potatoes that came with it more (horseradish and blue cheese seasoned). The shrimp and grits was above average too. I've been here quite a few time and up until the last year it's been pretty great. I ordered the creole blackened chicken linguini for my son. I had risotto cakes and the banana fosters cake to go. I'm going to start with the risotto, it was delicious, perfectly crunchy and creamy with a great flavored sauce to accompany it. The pasta was bland at best and the chicken wasn't blackened. My son finally added some Tony's creole seasoning, the kitchen should buy some, it made all the difference in the world. The cake was absolutely disgusting, it was like a thick microwave pancake. I love 101 Beer Kitchen because their menus change all the time! I know I can always count on trying something new and delicious here. We got two of the sides as appetizers. We tried the brown butter gnocchi and the Brussels sprouts. They were both delicious! For my entree I got the green Chile. I went to Santa Fe a few months ago and it reminded me of the green while stews they serve at their authentic New Mexican restraints. This was delicious! Especially it being topped with Queso fresco. My boyfriend got the pork belly Cuban, true pork belly was delicious, but he mentioned he wished the sandwich would've been hotter, it was just like warm.
