I don't need a gargantuan plate of food, but my husbands very pricey 8 Oz steak came on this huge empty white plate and it was honesty just laughable. $14 for 4 pieces of asparagus , one of which was about 1.5 inches in diameter and so hard and raw, it was inedible. Waiter calling the lower priced steak option "scraps" to get us to not order it-completely transparent and honestly poor form. Let people order what they want. This is my go-to restaurant! Whether a girl's night, date night or even lunch, we go often. The staff is exceptional and the food is amazing. The beef carpaccio and crab cakes are my absolute faves! It's funny that my favorite thing at this steak house was the wedge salad & the Brussel sprouts but it was. Everything was amazing but those two things were PERFECT. If you order a steak get it a degree lower than what you want because they do have a habit of over cooking the steaks even if they are flavorful. The hanger steak my husband order was not medium well but well done but luckily still had great flavor. I look forward to coming back to try the raw bar tower I saw it come out to another table and it look fantastic. We just needed a few more people to tackle it. read more

The only negative thing I have to say is that I wasn't able to try everything on the menu!!! Our server that evening, Emily, was one of the best servers we have experienced dining out in a long time! She was attentive, but not over-bearing, and friendly and very knowledgeable with both food and wine menu. The food was, obviously, the star of the night! We started with the broiled oysters, very good choice! The popovers were very delicious as well. Hubby got the New York Strip and I opted for the Yellow Tail Tuna - we both ordered ours med-rare and both came out exactly as ordered. We shared the Crispy Brussels Sprouts and the Herb Mushrooms - wonderful! The Brussels Sprouts are not to be missed! Must try them! First off, this is the place to bring a group as there are ample seats and large booths along with a dining area fitting 40+ people! My favorite area is the barrel room with seating for 6 and privacy perfect for proposing (wink, wink honey). For those hosting corporate events with less than 15 people there is a private "family area" with seating, projector access and privacy. I was forced to get the prime rib Oscar style and mashed potatoes and could not be happier, Stockholm syndrome rocks! I spent the whole day being held hostage by hunger and when I was finally able to eat I was so happy! The food was so much was I couldn't finish and had to take the difference home and will be eating for days! I loved this new restaurant, which only recently opened in the space previously occupied by Social Vinings. Although they kept the same layout, the atmosphere and the decor could not be more different! The main dining room reminds me of Marcel with their round booths and the decor. The bar offers a great selection of scotches and bourbons, as well as wine, and they have a creative cocktail menu as well. I tried Western & Atlantic ($15) and The Brooklyn ($14) and both drinks were fantastic! Food menu didn't disappoint either with app and dinner options for every craving and taste. They bring complimentary popover bread and although not really my thing, my date enjoyed it a lot. We tried Maryland crab cakes, served with shaved vegetable slaw and peppadew remoulade ($16), and sea salted red and golden beet Salad wuth chevre goat cheese, toasted pistachios, arugula, fig balsamic ($10). The beets were perfectly cooked and still crunchy; the crab cake wasn't as "lump" as I'd liked but tasty nonetheless. Entrees: Frutti de Mare (lobster, shrimp, octopus, clams, spicy tomato sauce, house made squid ink linguine) $39 and Green Egg Pork Chop (Berkshire pork chop, pimento mac & cheese, braised collard greens, coca cola gastrique) &28. I'm not a huge fan of pasta but the squid ink linguine was amazing although it could have more seafood for the price. Pork chop was very tender and perfectly cooked. Dessert menu isn't as extensive as I would have liked but the waitress talked us into ordering the Warm Apple Tartin with Bourbon Pecan Ice Cream ($7). This was the most disappointing thing we ordered and it didn't look or taste as it was described. Overall impression: service was outstanding, from the moment you pull up to the restaurant (they offer valet) to the moment you step out. I forgot my shrug at home and, despite is being summer, the restaurant was quite cold. I asked if they had some kind of a shawl and the hostess offered a light sweater to keep me warm, which I was very grateful for. Went to 101 Steak to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We had a reservation and they gave us a super private, cozy table. There is no longer mask wearing, but we were all distanced and our server stayed distanced as well. The service was excellent and we had a couple managers stop by our table to thank us and make sure all was excellent, which was a nice touch. I have to say, the sea bass is the best I ever had. If you like seafood and it's on the menu, I highly recommend. Be prepared: the prices are high. But this is a nice choice for a special celebration. UPDATED Review... MUCH better experience at 101's Happy Hour! We sat at the bar and the fabulous Wendy took care of us (although other bartenders jumped in but mostly her). Excellent happy hour specials from 330-630, half price on certain drinks and appetizers. We each had the chardonnay and split the tuna tartare and calamari. The calamari was excellent, breaded perfectly and seasoned well. The tuna tartare was ok but not the best I've had, would not order again. Additionally, the popovers were delicious and a nice addition of carbs ha! I also want to give a shoutout to the yacht rock music that was playing when we arrived and later the acoustic guitar player. The bar area is huge and the interiors are very warm and cozy. Very welcoming layout. Intimate enough if you want a more private dining experience but also open enough to socialize with your neighbors. Conclusion: 101 nails it on the happy hour experience, let Wendy at the bar take care of you. The drinks ordered from the bar were prepared on point. The owner stopped and checked in at the table and included their Jalapeno Corn Brule with Bacon which was flawless. I will start by saying I don't typically review on yelp, but I'm an avid reviewer on Google. I'm highly disappointed with this place, I was very excited to try it based on the menu and reviews. I pass it everyday to and from work, but I must say I did not feel welcome here. I haven't felt passive aggressive discrimination like this in a long time. The experience started at valet, I pulled up at the front door and waited, valet sat in his car and stared at me for a minute or two so drove around to see if there was self parking, there was but it was way too far to walk in the rain in heels. I drove around and stopped at valet again. He finally got out of his mustang and said "I'm sorry, I didn't think you were dining here". I drive a fairly new nice car, at first I didn't really think anything of it. I went in and sat at the bar adjacent to a bartender with short brown hair, she didn't even acknowledge me, walked back and forth twice before saying "someone would be right with you". A few minutes later the other bartender, short with blonde hair stopped by and immediately asked if I wanted to start with water, no offer of a drink, just water. I requested bottled and it was delivered. Another few minutes went by and the bartender with brown hair asked if I would be eating, I said yes and she tossed me a menu and kept it moving. The menu literally slapped down on the counter as she walked away. It wasn't even like they were busy, I was one of maybe 6 people. A long time later another bartender or cocktail server, black curly hair, came behind the bar and asked if I'd been told about the features. She explained the bone in filet and wagyu steak. I ordered a cocktail from her. Next the brunette approached me again and said "are you ready?", I told her I was still deciding if I wanted to eat here. As I sat with my drink I just got more and more turned off and disappointed, I paid my tab and went further down the street where I felt welcome. Not sure if I'll return, I feel bad leaving my review based on my bar experience but it was more than enough to think twice about coming back. I hope the dining room is much better. read more

Yes, yes, and yes! My husband and I wanted to go out to dinner to celebrate a new client. We chose 101 Steak, because it's near our home and we had never been before. Plus, we really wanted a big ol' hunk of red meat and you gotta go to a steakhouse if you want a good one. So we made a reservation and got spiffed up to go out! Besides the slightly confusing walk from the parking deck to the front door, EVERYTHING was fantastic. I don't use that term loosely either. The greeting from the lovely hostess and the General Manager at the front door was friendly. We immediately noticed that the lighting was pretty much perfect. For some reason we're both lighting dorks -- truly it can impact our experience if it's too bright or too dark, or if there are big holes in the lighting. But the lighting here is wonderfully even and at the perfect level. We were seated at a banquette deuce and greeted by our server Cory. He's one of those guys you can tell has been in the business for years and he's great at what he does. I mean, the service was perfect in every way. He's knowledgable about the menu items, he will offer an opinion, and he was happy to decant our wine and engage us in conversation. (We're pretty chatty diners) The food -- THE FOOD!! We shared a Caesar salad (sans the anchovies) as our first, and we each got the 8-ounce filet. I added Bernaise to mine, which came on the side and was lovely. Very eggy, rich and just the right amount of tarragon for my taste. We each cut our filet down the middle and set half aside to take home. It took everything I had not to eat the entire thing, but I knew I'd regret stuffing myself, so I was a warrior and I only ate half. It was tender, cooked perfectly mid-rare and was wonderful paired with the sides we chose. And OMG the sides! First of all the portions on the sides are huge and we ended up both eating some with our meal and we had enough to take home for an entire second meal! We chose mushrooms to go with our steaks which was a great call, and the roasted brussels sprouts which came bathed in a heavenly ginger-soy glaze with sesame seeds. Note that we're serious brussels sprouts eaters -- as in we almost always order them out and we roast them regularly at home -- and these could be the best ones we've ever had. We shared a bottle of our own wine that we brought (corkage is $25) and enjoyed our celebratory dinner with not ONE issue large or small to remark on. we come here frequently to sit at the bar for a cocktail. for the first time last night, we tried the food. but first, wanted a bottle of wine to split. the least expensive bottle is $40, so i was only looking at those options. i asked for a taste of one but didn't like, and asked the bartender if she had any recommendations IN THAT RANGE ($40). her and another bartender proceeded to bring bottles that were $65 and above. it was embarrassing and slimy that they putting that pressure on us. flustered, i ordered one that we didn't necessarily want but recognized the brand. for starters, we ordered the broiled oysters for an app. a few minutes later the bartender came back to tell us about the specials. the app special (butternut squash arancini) sounded really good, and i asked if we could change it. she said no, which was annoying because she obviously should have told us about the special before we placed the initial order. the broiled oysters were NOT good and i would not recommend. they have a weird smokey flavor, the oyster was tiny, and the gruyere does not pair well. also, little bits of shell came off in each bite. for entree, we ordered the delmonico, fries, and sautéed spinach. steak was cooked nicely but the presentation was pour - no garnishing, just slapped on a basic white plate. fries and spinach were nothing special, and the steak was seasoned well but extremely fatty. i expected plenty of marbling, but i'm talking big chunks of fat. overall, we will not be back for food, or wine. or maybe ever unfortunately. if you want an upscale steak experience, Kaisers in Sandy Springs is a much better bang for your buck. read more

Made a same-day reservation for my husbands birthday and I am soooo glad I did! From the moment we walked into the restaurant we were greeted with warmth and excellent service from the hostess. My husband and I came here for his birthday because he loves steaks. Overall experience was ok. Our server and his helper were friendly. They brought us the popovers, it's a huge muffin shaped bread with really crispy crust. My husband who loves bread really enjoyed it. We ordered the creole shrimp special. The flavor was good but the shrimp was over cooked. Yuck. I really hate rubbery shrimp. I guess that's what we get for ordering seafood at a steak place. My husband got the aged bone in ribeye and I got the the NY strip. They were perfectly cooked. We didn't eat that much because we were pretty full and I wanted room for dessert. We got the asparagus and the mushrooms for our sides. They were both good. Mushrooms were better when I added a dash of salt at home. But I much rather food be under salted than over. Not just because of the exceptional food, and effing amazing service that Kristin, Roman, Andrew and the rest of the crew provide...but because of the ambiance. It's classic steakhouse, with a good number of modern touches...I dig it, because I can't find another steakhouse like it. The decor is awesome...a buffalo head, steamer trunks in place of end tables, a sword...all this manages to work together to create a great space. In the handful of visits I've had here...my birthday dinner, a couple of work lunches, a couple of after work meetups for drinks & dinner...fucking phenomenal. Steaks are always perfect temp, and seasoned well. The "bruleed corn" is heavenly, to the point that I'll eat it before my steak on occasion. Our last experience at 101 steak proved that first impressions can be deceiving. We came back here for dinner last Friday night, and I must say, it was completely night-and-day from the prior experience. My husband and I walked out in agreement that this will be our go-to place in the neighborhood moving forward. We were immediately greeted with smiling faces when we walked through the door- I've never come across such genuinely happy hostesses. Our server, Christin (sp?) was PHENOMENAL. She was extremely friendly, attentive, and had the best recommendations. The gentleman who was working along side her filling up waters was on his game as well. If you get seated in Christin's section, you're going to have a great time. We started off with the popovers, which were delectable- like an upgrade to a croissant with a melt-in-your-mouth texture to it. Per Christin's recommendation, we got the tuna tartare appetizer- I'm not joking, this might be the best tuna tartare I've ever had in my life- I'm not exaggerating. Get the tuna tartare, you won't regret it. For our main entrees, I got the 101 double stack burger, and my husband got the bone-in ribeye (per Christin's recommendation as well). I'm confident in saying that this was the best burger that I've had in a while, and my husband was on CLOUD 9 with his Ribeye. He was raving about it the rest of the night. Because we're both gluttons, we HAD to get dessert. I decided to try the cheesecake because it was made in-house, and my husband got the seasonal sorbet, which was mango, which again, Christin recommended. The mango sorbet legitimately tasted like mango in ice cream form- we probably could've downed a tub of this stuff on the spot. The cheesecake was delicious as well, but for those of you that might be used to a more dense cheesecake, this one has a more whipped quality to it. While we were finishing up with dinner, David, the general manager, stopped by to see how we were enjoying our meal- he was extremely congenial and genuinely sought our feedback and the feedback of the other diners that were there that night. We both walked out with huge smiles on our faces-I hope this place keeps doing what it's doing, because I think this will be our go-to place for weekday cocktails/happy hour, and weekend dinner to celebrate special occasions and to indulge ourselves via some amazing food.
