We did not have reservations for lunch but they were able to sit us down immediately. Not a real big menu for brunch but a lot of tasty choices! Nice atmosphere and mostly booth dining which I like. Our servers were nice and attentive. The servings were decent and the prices are reasonable. We started with the cornbread that came out looking like a magazine cover! It was so fresh, hot and crispy! I can see why it's so popular! The salad we ordered was huge with big chunks of tuna. Very light with plenty toppings that came with it. The shrimp and grits were very good! The shrimp were plump and juicy! We added the lemon butter sauce that took it to another level! My ribs came out picture perfect! Not real meaty but they were very good. They were tender! I like how I was able to choose my sides. I got the chili. Although the chili was not hot when it was served to me, it had a very good flavor, not spicy but plenty meat. Our server was kind and did offer to replace it. It was served with tortilla chips. At first, our dining experience was disappointing. There was an unusually long time waiting for our meal. Then the assistant manager and the manager provided us with appetizers gratis and exchanged my fish dish for a hamburger. Our desserts were delicious and the managers went out of their way to compensate and their efforts were appreciated. This made a disappointing dining situation into a better experience for our party. read more

Stopped in here with 3 of my friends/colleagues for dinner tonight. One has been here before in another location- and recommended this dinner to us all. I wasn't really feeling a big meal but tagged along anyway. It's a good thing I did! This was one of the best meals I have ever had in Asheville, or anywhere to be honest. Our server was Sam, and he was super helpful, friendly, and professional. We never wanted for anything, all of the table was pleased with everything. We started out with two appetizers: The cornbread, and the grilled artichoke. Both were killer. The cornbread was so tasty with the side of honey. We debated ordering more for dessert haha. Well worth the stop in just for this. Grilled artichokes are delicious, and the seasoning was aggressive. We enjoyed this very much with the sauce provided. My coworker got the surf and turf, one got the cedar plank salmon, and one got the cajun blackened chicken pasta. I chose to go with the NC Mountain trout. When the entrees arrived they pointed out that they noticed the fish for my entree was a little over, and they were going to redo the dish. I won't lie- this was by far one of the best pieces of fish I have ever had. The quinoa and kale salad is one of the best sides I have also had with fish. Both together was just spectacular. I spend time talking with Julie, one of the managers. She was apologetic for the fish being not cooked perfectly. I let her know that the refire was tremendous and that people will most likely be back when we have meetings here in Biltmore park. From Sam, to Julie, to the hostess and cooks in the kitchen, this was an unbelievable meal. I've eaten here a couple of times, but it's quickly becoming one of my favorite places to eat. My husband got the steak marinated in some pineapple marinade our last time here. It was so delicious! We finally made it back and the steak did not disappoint. I got the halibut special of the day, and it was very tasty. The drinks were good too. We were too full to get dessert so we got it to go! The key lime pie was so yummy! I was so glad I ended up ordering the dessert to go. We sat outside because we had our pup. The outdoor patio is cozy and it has a nice fire pit. Arrived for lunch and was seated within 2 minutes. A lady came to the table told us what the specials of the day were and took our drink order. She then indicated that Alex would be our waiter and take our orders. After waiting about 10-15 mins, Alex arrived at our table to take our order. I ordered a 131 Maniac for a drink. For appetizer: deviled eggs and smoked salmon and Ahi Tuna salad for my main course. Everything was superb and the customer service/recommendations Alex gave were spot on! Hopefully they made it through the hirricane. We ate there the night before the flood. The food was really top notch and the drinks were tasty. There was a mistake with where the waiters are placed and we didn't get to have our order placed until 30 minutes later. not to mention we waited an extra 15 minutes on top of our 45 minute wait to even be seated. We ended up having to ask for a waiters attention. I appreciate the apology afterwords but the food was just alright for the higher prices and not the best attention to service. The salmon was nice but the rest of the food was just okay. Also a random note but it's was freezing cold in the dining room. We were sat towards the front but the temperature was crazy cold. My wife and I love this place and 4-5 times per year we drive the hour from Greenville to enjoy it. Always impeccable service and this time Johnny did an amazing job. Started with grilled artichokes...insanely good. Tomato basil soup was the best I've had as were the danish babyback ribs. Everything else we've tried from steaks to cedar plank salmon is also decent. This time we stayed at the Hilton so we could enjoy the bar as well. I want so much to love this place. I've been quite a few times and it's pretty good. But if you know who they are trying desperately to imitate the dishes just leave you hoping for a bit more. The steaks and chicken don't even live in the same realm as the other place. Perhaps people don't buy but a great example is not using prime steaks like that other one. 131 Main has the best French dip style sandwich I have had in a very long time. Before I tell you about anything else know that all the stars could account for this amazing sandwich. The slices were cooked very medium rare and sliced thin. Pleasantly warm, super tender, amazingly juicy on a delicious roll that melted in the mouth. The cheese was perfectly balanced - not too much and not too little. The au jus was plentiful and savory. It paired with the sandwich perfectly like jam and peanut butter. Every bite was more delightful than the next and then sadly it was gone. The cocktails were universally terrible. If I were to guess it was late at night and either the bartender already checked out or a novice was beyond the bar. No one at my table enjoyed their cocktails but it also helped keep the price down because no one wanted to go a second round. No, we didn't complain to the waitstaff. We couldn't bring ourselves to do it. The waitstaff was so fun, funny, and engaging. It was late at night and no one needed a complaint especially since everyone was so nice. The atmosphere was not memorable. It wasn't bad, it wasn't good. It felt fairly standard where we sat. This isn't a bad thing. It was fairly dim at that time of night so I couldn't take in the ambiance well. I recall being able to hear everyone at my table well despite several nearby tables full of people.
