Great food, service and setting in Roswell. Stopped in for lunch and was not disappointed! Will be back for sure!

We absolutely LOVE 1920! Tonight was our first visit since pre-pandemic. Wow! So glad we went back! The food is amazing as always! My husband and I shared the pimento cheese deep as an appetizer. If you like pimento cheese, you will love this dip. I had the lamb chops. They were perfect! Some of the best lamb I've had. And the potato and spinach sides were the perfect complement to the chops. My husband had the fish and chips and said they were delicious. He subbed mushroom risotto for the cole slaw and raved over it. Our server, Reggie, was great! Friendly, attentive, and prompt. We will ask for him again next time. The place is small, cozy yet energetic. It's spotlessly clean. The decor fits the vibe. And the live music was incredible. We will be back when Tyson Halford performs. Really enjoyed the various genres of covers. Tonight was a reminder of why 1920 is a favorite. We will be back soon! read more

Keep your bill! Make sure you aren't overcharged on your tip! Food-wise, I've always liked this place. It's a nice location to grab lunch, the menu has some items I enjoy, it easily would have been a four-star location before my most recent visit. On my most recent visit, I snapped a photo of my receipt, including the tip amount, because I need to submit all of that detail now with my expenses. The next week I went to submit the expense and was shocked to see that my bill was $104.25 when the amount, with tip, on my receipt was $101.00. I called the store, was able to talk to the manager easily, but apparently this wasn't the first time this had happened recently. She said she couldn't afford to comp another meal again because of this, but that I could come by the store in person and get a check for $3.25. She did say she would talk with the employee in question about the importance of entering amounts accurately. She said (six days after the visit) that they did not have the original paper receipts, so there was no way she could confirm the amount I wrote, but that this wasn't the first time it happened. (I sent a photo of the bill to her cell that showed both the itemized receipt and the receipt with the tip and total filled out and signed.) Talk with the employee? This isn't the first time you've spoken about this recently, the server has done this to other people, and that server still has a job here? Yikes! I was originally told they didn't think they could fix the transaction for the right date and right amount, and called AmEx and worked with them (they were great!) and they said they'd credit the $3.25 to make the amount billed equal the $101 it should have been. After that, the owner/manager got back to me and said their IT guy could fix this if I got on the phone with them with my card info. At that point, I had my solution, so I said that was fine, but I'd already gotten a corporate card credit approved that I'd have to tie to the bill at it's 104.25 amount. Many hoops later, I was finally able to get the credit and bill submitted as an expense. It's a shame, because I'm glad I'm finally out having work lunches with people, and I would have definitely had 1920 in my rotation if not for this...but I don't want to be dining anywhere I have to worry about being charged the wrong amount. read more

The food, the atmosphere, the staff--every minute we were there was perfect! You can really tell when management is good because the staff is friendly, happy to be there, and the product (good) is sooo good. This is always on my top 3 Roswell places to go! Oh delicious heaven on earth, why are you hiding in Roswell! Just thinking about the dish I had that day, just makes me want to teleport there now. The shrimp and lobster pasta at first tasted as if there wasn't enough seasoning but then it hit me. It's a light delicious taste that I hadn't had in quite some time. 5th time eating here and I just don't get it. Have tried many different entrees, appetizers, soups and salads. The food is average at best, overpriced and the restaurant service is marginal. The bar is great for drinking when there's music, but we won't be eating here anymore. read more

We had a reservation for 2, I arrived before the other person in my party and the hostess told me I could wait at the bar until they arrived(no where at the bar to wait as they were too crowded) so I sat on the bench for the 2-3 minutes until my friend showed up. The hostess didn't recall that I had just talked to her less than 5 minutes before and she had not had any other people come up after me. Fine, nbd. Then we get seated and our server was phenomenal, very attentive, made recommendations, knowledgeable about the menu, and gave options about tall/short glass single/double on drinks which I LOVED. Not only did he do a good job upselling, it also made it seem like he cared about my preferences. There was live music, on a week night, which was awesome, but it was SUPER LOUD! We definitely had to yell to have a conversation. The spinach and artichoke dip was incredible, maybe the best I've ever had. But, unfortunately, everything spiraled down from there. Ordered the burger- burger patty was literally missing from my plate, then they took my plate back to put it on there, and brought it back 3 min later leaking blood and completely raw, (I like medium rare to medium meat, this was RAW. The outside was barely light brown) cheese wasn't even melted, and the bacon was cold from the fridge. Couldn't eat it, even after trying to cook it more when I got home, it was inedible, and I found a short black hair in it. Band bang cauli- looked good, tasted ok, outside was really mushy, sauce was too sweet and tasted like a jar sweet Thai chili sauce you'd buy at a grocery store. It was edible, but not very tasty. Friend ordered a salad, it looked really fresh and yummy. She didn't comment on it so I don't know if she really liked it, but she ate less than half. Since at this point I wasn't super fond of my food, I decided just to get another drink. I ordered the exact same thing, (Bourbon and diet), it was a completely different ratio of alcohol. My first drink had been too strong, probably an over pour, second drink was an under pour and all I could taste was the coke. Very inconsistent. I really wanted to like this place, but I won't be back. read more

Very poor quality food for the prices you're paying. Maybe this place would be good for a drink or two, maybe an appetizer before you go eat someplace else, but not for dinner. We were invited with family, and the table for our party of 9 was really more of a 6-7 top, maybe 8 if you're super-skinny. So it was very cramped, and I was basically sitting at a corner. I think it's the type of place that makes the drinks very strong so you don't realize that the food is pretty lackluster. We ordered the lobster and shrimp spaghetti, which is "tossed with a garlic white wine herb broth". It was served sitting in a puddle of oily broth, maybe half a cup. I've included a picture of the broth that spilled out into our to-go bag. The dish was bland, and the only flavor was oil and garlic. And this cost $30! Our other entrees and sides were not terrible, but were also just lukewarm. Just because a restaurant is expensive, does not mean it's good, or that the chef knows what he's doing. There are plenty of other places to eat in Roswell, don't waste your time here. I would recommend Osteria Mattone, Passador Steakhouse, or Lazaro's. read more

The food is amazing here. I brought my family here one time during a slow lunch. I was really excited to show them this restaurant because I always come here. As soon as we sat down the server looked irritated. I talked to my family in my native language and she heard us, and started to treat us really cold right off the bat. Then we placed a really hefty order because I wanted them to try a lot of items! The server then said "are you sure you want all of these it's a lot of food" to which I replied "yeah I want them" She proceeded to talk to the bartender and say " can you just make her drink they just ordered a shit ton of food that I gotta put in". Mind you, there was no one else dining except for another guy, so I could clearly hear her complaining about us, I wanted to go up there and say "or you can stop your complaining and be grateful that I'm about to tip you fat after all this food" It made my family really upset, and they kept saying let's go somewhere else, but I said no, because I wanted them to try the food which is always amazing, the chefs are absolutely great, and honestly so is the rest of their staff, except for this one woman. She has blue eyes and brown hair with a Patagonia vest jacket and a bun. I don't know her name but I can tell she's been there for a while. I just don't think this restaurant needs a pessimistic racist server since the rest of the staff and the food/drinks are always 10/10. They should definitely get rid of her as she is only a parasite. Best date night we've had in a while! My Pink Starburst was incredible. It actually tasted like a pink starburst candy. Even my husband liked it b/c the sweet was balanced perfectly with the tartness. Steak salad was perfection. Husband had the grouper, and the sauce pulled his dish together beautifully. He doesn't normally acknowledge sauces, but the entire meal he kept referring to it. On top of outstanding food, our server was a joy. Erica was attentive, personable and could tell we were open to chatting, so she engaged with us making the evening extra fun. We will be back with friends! read more

Before I even get into the specifics of this fine eatery, I will caveat this review by saying we had not eaten until 3:30pm; the bar was on the floor. The first thing you notice walking in is the ambiance surrounding the mystique of the building. If you can't get outdoor seating, there is only one row of booths on the inside; a skinny restaurant if you will. The service was good and the food even better. Four stars because the drinks are expensive and quotes on the wall read words such as "according to chemistry, alcohol is a solution." read more

Quaint little place on Canton St. in downtown Roswell. Perfect for sitting outside and people watching. The food was well prepared and presented and the staff was friendly and attentive. The menu had lots of interesting options and all the food going to the surrounding tables looked delicious too. Can't wait to return to try out some of the other menu items. read more

Went for lunch during a weekday. Place was busy and all precautions were followed by the staff. Sat outside and ordered wings to start, which were pretty good. Then had the Carolina Trout (with mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts) - which was excellent. Would recommend for a lunch time meal and will return in the future. read more

A terrific little taphouse in downtown Roswell that serves up tasty dishes and fantastic cocktails in a comfortably upscale setting. On a recent visit, I enjoyed a decent Petite Filet, along with a fabulous Blanton's Smoked Old Fashioned (OK ... maybe a couple of those). Service was outstanding throughout my visit, and the menu offers a wide range of items for almost every taste, from burgers and sandwiches to seafood and chops. And in addition to their incredible cocktail and and liquor offerings, 1920 Tavern also has a solid list of local craft beers on tap. The setting is nice enough for a date night or business lunch, but casual enough to meet friends for a drink after work. There are a handful of outdoor tables, but most of the seating is in the dark, cozy dining room. Parking, as with everything in downtown Roswell, can get tight on weekends, so plan to arrive early to avoid a long walk from your car. Worth a visit if you're looking for a good meal in North Fulton County. read more

First of all, great atmosphere! This was a fun little nook/bar/pub my husband and I had the pleasure of dining at tonight. The staff were great! From being greeted, to bar, and table service we had smiling faces and everyone was very tentative! I wanted to harp about two things specifically...one, our server was so awesome!! Her name was Desire(e?) and she made our experience over the top! I can be quite the "Karen"(a bit needy and extra!) but this sever kept smiling and met my every request! She kept great conversation with us and she was even a female beer brewer! Second, the trout dish...omg!! DELICIOUS!! I am a huge fan of trout and eat this dish as often as I can find it on a menu. This place takes a top 3 in the local area! The lemon cream sauce was such a perfect enhancement without overpowering the fish! Such a delightful dish! I do have to say, it was very small inside with limited space(especially around the entrance/bar area) which I guess should be expected for the DTR strip . It could also get quite loud at times making it difficult to hear. The bathrooms were clean and even had little "extras" for "just in case"! Great service, great food, great atmosphere! Love this place! We went here for my 21st. The owner, Jenna, gave me a free cocktail for it, plus shots for the whole family. We ordered the calamari and crab cakes for appetizers. Both hit the spot. The shrimp and chicken alfredo was much loved by my mother. The tuna tacos were to die for! Nice, homey little place. Love love love love LOVE !! Located right on the street strip it is an amazing place to go out on a nice date night for some really amazing food or meet some friends and catch up! Favorites include: Goat cheese ravioli Sweet potato fries ( they have sprinkled brown sugar and are served with honey) SO YUMMY! Short rib on top of a sweet potato croquette is delicious! I have never had such a terrible experience at a restaurant. I also have never left a negative review at any establishment. The table next to us was already highly intoxicated, inappropriate and loud. When one of them yelled for another shot the bartender said to come behind the bar and poured liquor into his mouth. I saw at least one bartender taking shots and the whole experience just felt out of control. When I finally asked for my check, after just having an appetizer, a "manager" came over and asked me if I wanted to move to the back of the restaurant. She apologized but she had been witnessing everything the entire time. I had not been to downtown Roswell before and chose this restaurant after looking at their menu. I thought that this was a "fine dining pub". I'm all for having fun, but this was like an out of control fraternity party. I wish that I could get my money back for an appetizer and the cocktail that I paid for. I hope this isn't how they operate on a daily basis. read more

We enjoy the food at the 1920. They have the most delicious house salad dressing. Enjoy the tavern salad with salmon added. Nice ipa's on draft. The staff is friendly and attentive. We like to sit outside, but the space if very cramped and uneven. Also very noisy as the trucks rumble by only a few feet away, We would like to see that section of Canton street be closed to traffic. I think it would make the experience so much more enjoyable. read more

We had a good time here. It's a fun atmosphere, usually is pretty crowded, and they offer one of the best drink menus in town. I started the evening with a sidecar made with bourbon. It was such a perfectly put together drink but the little garnishes made it just perfect. I had wine with dinner and they have a great selection of wine and some nice ones by the glass as well. The food was good. We started with short rib tacos and I have to say that was the best thing we had all night. The short rib was tender and incredibly flavorful. I think the KC bbq sauce is where a lot of the tangy and deep flavor came from, but it was just awesome. The jalapeno slaw as well was to die for. Cruncy, creamy, and the absolute perfect hit of heat from the jalapeno wasn't too overpowering but was just enough. An absolutely great dish. For an entrée, I had the petite filet medallions. A very classic dish with mashed potatoes and asparagus. The mashed potatoes and asparagus were just plain mashed potatoes and asparagus. They were cooked perfectly and I liked them, but not much beyond that to say. The meat was very tender and cooked exactly as I had ordered it, medium rare. It was a great quality cut that I enjoyed. It came with a shallot cognac sauce, but only a small drizzle was put on the plate. I could have used more not only for all the bites of steak, but for the accompaniments as well. The only negative was the menu calls for shitake mushrooms and I got none. I am guessing a truck didn't come in because they were out of quite a few things. They didn't have the products to make the lychee martini on the menu, I originally ordered the NY Strip and they were out, no shitake mushrooms on my dish and then we ordered the nutella bread pudding and they delivered a blueberry bread pudding saying they were out of the nutella one. Anyways what they were able to serve was good. We finished with dessert and liked everything. Peanut butter chocolate bar was excellent but very rich for some people. Bread pudding wasn't what we ordered but was excellent. Finally we did the crème brulee. It seemed a little lighter but the fruit on top made it unique and we all really enjoyed it. read more

It was our first time at 1920 Tavern. The place was packed and I now know why. The food came out quickly and everything was delicious. The gumbo and grits was as good as any out of Louisiana. The iceberg-wedge salad was wonderful and the trout was huge! Perfect flavor. Our waiter Jason made this dinner even more spot on. We had a reservation for 6 of us for Father's Day and were seated quickly. Our server was amazing and attentive. The food is very good. Highly recommend starting with Calamari and Bang Bang Cauliflower. My husband loves the fried chicken, which was our reason for going. Our main issue was the heat. According to the owner, the thermostat was set to 71 but inside temp was 80! She had plenty of excuses but what matters is that it is incredibly uncomfortable to sit inside a restaurant at 7:00pm sweating. If my air conditioner at home did that, I would be on the phone with a repair person asap. I realize the buildings in downtown Roswell are old, but this needs to be addressed if you want summer business. We won't be back until the fall, but will return for outstanding service and food. read more

My wife and I liked the menu so we decided to try this restaurant. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our cocktails and had grilled oysters for an appetizer. Oysters were delicious. My wife had the short ribs and loved it. Both of us enjoyed the Mediterranean salmon that I got. The dessert looked delicious, but we were stuffed from dinner so we'll try them next time. read more

Everything was amazing! Forgot to take a pic of the burrata salad. As a self proclaimed food critic, this was just so good! Calamari was fresh, hot and voted perfect. The Starburst martini and spicy basil drink! The sea bass was delectable amd buttery. I don't know if the shrimp and lobster ragout was minced in there but it was still delicious and wouldn't change my review. The chunks of goat cheese in the potato which I used to mop up the rest of the delicious sauce from the bass. The fried chicken was hot, fresh and equally delicious although it was not my meal. We had several check ins by the owner was was fantastic as well as our waiter, but I forgot his name. Bravo! read more

We were here from my nieces 22nd Birthday. We sat in the back and were waited on by Merila. She took such good care of us; we had A BLAST!!!
