    Street Noodles Bowl

This gem sits right across from North Park Univ. and as you walk in you see the space is big. There are nice wooden tables and a great fast casual dining area. I ordered the chicken pad Thai and friends ordered the street noodles and orange chicken. The pad Thai was a good sweet and tangy flavor. The noodles were nice and thin and added a kick of spice to it along with crushed peanuts mixed in. The chicken was a nice chicken breast and had juicy flavors in it. No complaints here besides the noodles were a bit dry but didn't take away from flavors. The street noodles are like maggi noodles stir fried with meats and veggies and although it was also dry, the spice was there. Orange chicken was nice and tender and a sweet orange flavor came through. Also, they make fresh boba and all at a reasonable price. This place has great prices and flavors compliment. Keep up the great tastes!

After moving out of the area, I realized just how good their Dumplings and street noodles were. I have been craving them since 2019 and just made a trip from the Airport to get them. Is everything great? See my earlier review. Any restaurant that I crave for this long deserves a 5 star. What else is their to say!

I give 5 stars because every time I have ever been in here, the person behind the counter is super polite.. maybe even cheerful. I love that they seal their drinks. They have a gigantic selection for their drinks, way more than most places.

Comes with 3 pieces but I ate one before taking a pic. Oops Also comes with sauces in the box- hoisin, crushed peanuts, and hot sauce

It's time for an update! I ordered spring rolls, bubble tea, Asian wings, and the noodle salad. I'll be honest I wasn't a big fan of the noodle salad because I typically like grilled meat but they didn't have that type of meat. Their spring rolls are legit. I'll be back for lunch breaks. Bubble tea shops can be hit or miss in Chicago but their mango smoothie is delicious! Service has been amazing even with pick up. I prefer to order through a phone call rather than paying Grubhub or online prices. Ordering through the phone was easy peasy. 2 Asian Brothers- thanks for sticking around!

Came back when it first opened a bunch, and I'm glad they're still a great deal for bahn mi! Shredded pork sandwich was fresh, with crisp and spicy jalapeños Added a little soy sauce and it was perfect, but I think the bbq pork would have been ideal with sweet sauce and the same pork. I heard that the turkey was a little mushy, but the ingredients were also crisp and flavorful. The chicken spring rolls are fried up fresh and were warm and perfect with duck sauce. Can't believe can get something with such perfect bread and flavors for only 5-6 bucks, while my last one in Philly was more expensive, smaller, and worse.

After searching google for good restaurants on Argyle, we decided to eat here. I had rice with grilled pork chop and sunshine egg, and my partner had steamed rice noodles with grilled beef and shrimp. We split the spring rolls. First, the portion sizes were on the larger side, which pleasantly surprised us. Second, the spring rolls came out almost immediately, and the rest of the food came out within 10 minutes of ordering! The grilled pork chop was divine - perfectly seasoned and juicy. The freshness of the steamed rice noodles created a wonderful lightness to balance out the beef and shrimp, which were both cooked perfectly. There were so many dishes to choose from which originally seemed daunting, but now that we know you really can't go wrong here, it just means we have to come back again to try more! P.S. You have to order the coconut drink - you drink straight from the coconut and it's so refreshing.

Well, it is kind of tucked away in a desolate area on Canal Street, but still. One of my good friends suggested we check this place out after hearing about it from a co-workers. The only thing I know about Vietnamese cuisine is pho (which for some insane reason, I've never had) and banh mi, which I tried (and loved) while visiting my fave cuz in the Bay. . I arrived early to this very large, beautifully decorated venue on a Tuesday night and was intrigued by the set-up. One side was all tables, the other side was tables and multiple gigantic screened tvs playing Family Feud and the World Cup games. Kinda crazy. I chose to sit on the big screen side while waiting for my date. He called to say he was running late and to get the order started. I had been waiting a bit, so i caught the eye of one of the workers, who came right over. He was so friendly and accommodating and answered all questions. I ordered the green Thai kumquat iced tea, spring rolls and the chicken wings he highly suggested. He rushed off to place the order. Moments later, a couple of distinguished gents walked in and sat at a huge round table cater-corner from me and soon thereafter the nice man who took my order sat down with them. I'm assuming he was the owner for obvious reasons. I gained more respect for this establishment because customer service goes a very long way with me and he obviously cared about that. Our server, a very friendly young lady, brought my drink out and I was surprised to see that it was served in what looked like a sippy cup, with a cartoon design on the lid. Kinda weird seeing as I am an adult, but it was a tasty beverage, nonetheless. My friend showed up as the spring rolls and chicken wings came out. We devoured both, which were delicious and then placed our orders. I went with lobster noodles and my friend got the beef tenderloin pho. Even though my entree presentation wasn't the best, it was a very tasty dish to both of us. The beef tenderloin pho was definitely the star of the show! The broth was fragrant and flavorful and the beef was tender beyond measure. I'm an avid ramen fan but this pho definitely had my attention and I can't wait to try more. Ocean Bar and Grill is such a cute, quirky place that caters to date night diners, groups and families. They were all in there that night and everyone seemed to be having a great time. I know I did. I'll definitely be taking my daughter when she comes home from her summer internship!

Creative Vietnamese Brunch with Standout Wings, Though the Egg Coffee Missed the Mark…read more HaiSous remains an enjoyable spot for a more modern take on Vietnamese cuisine, with quick, efficient, and friendly service in a polished setting. We came for brunch right when the restaurant opened, and it was only about 25% full, which made for an easy and relaxed meal. The crispy chicken wings were excellent -- fried well, nicely seasoned, and easily a go-to order. The bánh xèo was also very good, served hot and fresh with a crisp shell and plenty of filling, though I would have appreciated more leafy greens and herbs for wrapping. The bánh canh cua, or crab noodles, had genuine flavor, a nice spicy balance, and was served piping hot. The crab meat is broken up into the broth, so you do need to drink the spicy broth to get the full benefit of the dish. The beef papaya salad was just alright. Compared with other papaya salads I've had, I wanted more sourness and tartness to give it that sharper, more authentic flavor profile. The biggest disappointment was the cà phê trứng, or egg coffee. After having the real thing in Vietnam, I was excited to try HaiSous' version, but the coffee was not strong or bitter enough to create the right contrast, there was not much beaten egg, and the drink was overwhelmed by a large amount of whipped cream. It came across more like a very sweet dessert coffee than a faithful egg coffee. Overall, we enjoyed the meal and would come back. There are some misses, but the stronger dishes -- especially the wings, bánh xèo, and crab noodles -- make HaiSous worth trying for a creative Vietnamese brunch or dinner.

The spring rolls came as a pair, both long. Everything was packaged well. Both dishes were very fresh with great flavor. The chicken cabbage salad was amazingly good, with the cabbage still having some crisp to it despite being mixed with the chicken and dressing. The flavor was a great combination of citrus and a gingery kick, and some fresh herbs on top made it even better. Phodega was near where I was staying, and my friend and her roommate also heard positive reviews on the food here. We arrived closer to 8 PM last Monday and were seated immediately. Their menu is a hodge-podge of popular Asian street food and snacks. It was a bit random, but I guess that's why it's... Phodega. PHO BO (BEEF) - 16.95 +3 for extra ribeye The broth was really strong and flavorful, very meaty and beefy. However, the noodle to broth ratio was a bit too high for me. I really liked the broth too, and there wasn't much of it after the noodles sucked it all up. Adding the extra ribeye beef helped balance it out, which was a good call for me that night. My friend got the "Not BBH" and didn't really like it, and her roommate absolutely despised the Korean Style Dumplings. Definitely get the beef pho at Phodega because it did the job for me besides the overwhelming amount of noodles.
