As an American of mostly Italian heritage, I loves me some pizza. Today between a visit to the eye doctor and a job interview, I had a small window for lunch. Ironically, it was the window of 2 Brothers Pizza that drew me in. I was immediately hit with small-town nostalgia, haven born and raised in Carbondale, Pa., and lived in Old Forge, the self-proclaimed "Pizza Capitsl of the World". The vibe inside was authenticity, and made me feel like I was home from college and hitting my favorite slice shop I was in a time crunch, so slices were my predetermined choice. However I was super impressed with the slice pies behind the glass, from a variety and appearance standpoint. I couldn't take my eyes off of the Mest Lovers, so that was my first pick; loaded with bacon and sausage. I then spied the Buffalo Chicken and quickly decided that would complete my order. That was also the order in which I consumed them... I found myself taking massive bites, not because of my hunger level, because it was just that darn good! Crisp bacon crumbles toppled off with each trip to my face hole, but they couldn't escape their fate. What fell back to my plate became a little bonus bite once I finished. The crust was pan style and so remenicent of my all time favorites back home. Airy, crispy and just the right amount of juicy. The Buffalo slice impressed me with its true to its namesake spicy heat, not too much...just right. Awesome to s guy that once drove from Scranton to Buffalo and back in one night, just to go to the Anchor Bar. Even the old time menu behind the counter gave a feeling of home and belonging. I only regret that I didn't have time to investigate it further, especially the stormboli! Based on my visit today, I'm definitely going back when I've got time to sit and savor. they told me total was $32 but when i got there to pick up order. They charge me $62, why didn't they said that when i ask for the total. There dis-honest, i do not recommend this place. I have never been disappointed with the food that I have ordered from TWO, BROTHERS PIZZA. I just picked up a pizza with sausage, onions and mushrooms and it was fabulous. Let me condition this by saying that I live in San Diego, where (most) people think good pizza is the same thing as healthy pizza. "Kale pizza with cauliflower crust and vegan cheese" Pssh, no thanks. I'll be over here starving to death. My wife is from the Harrisburg area and introduced me to 2 Brothers 8+ years ago. Every time we come back in town to visit, grabbing a boli here is an absolute must on our list. I've had them at other places around town (YP, Jo-Jo's, Giovannis, etc), but none are reasonably comparable. If you're in this area (or anywhere within driving distance), you really can't go anywhere else for your pizza/boli fix. read more

Great food, hot fries and yummie sandwiches. 4-stars for the terribly uncomfortable furniture, which does not accommodate my 6'2" frame but may work well for other. High chairs are available to the little ones and the food comes out plenty quick to fill those hungry bellies. There's a fish tank that always mesmerizes our children, even though there aren't many fish in it. Came today because I wanted french fries and they have pretty good french fries. I decided on the any sub (Italian for me), fry, and soda combo lunch special which price - wise doesn't feel very special at $9. The staff here is very friendly though and the sub was tasty. The bread was soft and fresh and the meat and cheese inside was tasty too. So I boosted it up a star for my experience today. If you like subs or pizza then this is the place for you. Their food is consistently good. The atmosphere there is great too. The employees are friendly and great to talk to. Their dough and sub rolls are made by them each day. The prices are good there too. You can usually get a sub combo, with fries and a drink, for under $8.00. I forgot how good their pizza is! YUM! After 3 recent visits; I can say this is a pleasant, clean restaurant with friendly employees. I like the fact that the food handlers wear hats, and the cashier only handles money. I plan to go back, and try a cheeseburger or cheese steak sub.... what prevented a 5 star review was that while the cheese used on pizzas and boli's is obviously high quality, there is too much of it for my tastes...however the clientele likes it and is loyal... I came down this way for my nursing exam and forgot shampoo so headed to Target. Saw this restaurant across the way and thought we'd give it a try. This DID NOT disappoint. The feel was very old school pizza restaurant. Authentic Italian employees who you could tell were family. Seemed to have a connection with the locals and provided great service. Now... the pizza. The crust was very fresh baked like a puffy slightly crisp crust not too thick not too thin. The sauce was very good sweet and I could taste the freshness of it (if it's from a can then I'm honestly fooled either way it was good). We just got cheese and pepperoni. These are not the kind of pepperonis that get that "cupping" which is neither here nor their but good just the same with that slight pepperoni spice they all have. This was a VERY cheesy pizza slightly on the messy side which is my preference. If you eat it right away the cheese is prolly gonna melt and slip off but give it like 3 minutes to cool or so and your golden. Got the tossed salad with very fresh cheese on it, never change that. This pizza joint is in a strip of stores across from the big boys, Circuit City and Target. Not a bad place to stop in if you need lunch between shopping. This place is clean. I wouldn't say it's that cheap as far a pizza spots go, but their pizza will fill you up. We ordered a large pizza half cheese and half vegetable, which we had to explain to the guy what that meant. Vegetables, means no meat. Just vegetables. Apparently they never got that request. "So that means onions?" Uhhhh yea, AND olives, green peppers... you know, vegetables? No? Well, after that the service picked up, as they were very gracious and helpful. The pizza was good but extremely oily. I will say they put just the right amount of sauce on it, which is not an easy task. Overall I was pleased with the cheese half. The vegetables looked hardly cooked like they were put on after the pizza came out of the oven. We also ordered a baked ziti to go which was so bland with such little sauce, I thought they forgot to add it. That left much to be desired. Hubs and I ate a couple slices apiece of 2 Brothers takeout while at a practice session at a friend's place nearby. We both thought it was too cheesy and quite the gut bomb. I've got an iron gut and felt out of sorts for a couple days. Poor hubs was, shall we say, suffering digestive issues for a few days. Love this pizza place! My family and I order from here almost once a week! They are always so friendly. The food is excellent and ready in no time. I appreciate that without having to ask , they provide ketchup packets and sauces when ordering chicken tenders and fries (my kids' favorite). I love that they are so prepared and looking out for their customers. My favorites are their pizza and cheesesteak hoagies but everything we've tried has been superb. Absolutely the best pizza dough and sauce! Although Dominick was not here today, his younger brother made us a delicious meatball pie. He told us a little bit about how he makes their wonderful sauce. It has tomatoes, carrots, celery, onions, and garlic and is cooked for hours. He claimed it's a simple sauce, but I'm sure there's some Italian trickery that makes it magically delicious. To start, we always get an order or two of the pepperoni knots that comes with the magical sauce. Another favorite of ours is their steak stuffed pizza. Although one piece is enough for a meal, we always get a whole pie and take the rest home. It heats up great in the toaster oven. I can also recommend getting a few meatballs and sauce to go. Just add your own pasta at home and you've got a yummy quick meal in minutes. We have yet to try anything else on the menu, but I'm sure it is just as good. When I worked at Circuit City years back I always went here on lunch break, they also gave us a 10% off card to present for our order, which always made it worth-while.
