Went here for the fish based on a friends recommendation. I prefer broiled fish to a battered fish fry. I ordered the lemon butter caper broiled fish. The Cole slaw was very good, and I enjoyed their twisted potatoes (although they were a bit too potatoy for my wife), the broiled fish was a huge disappointment. It seemed as if it was cooked the day before and heated up to server. It was like warm at best. There was virtually no lemon butter to speak of, and the capers were, few, minuscule, and looked like they had been sitting out overnight. The piece of fish itself was about half edible, the other half was dry and tough, I could not even cut it with a knife. I have ordered broiled fish in several different restaurants and have never had anything close to this bad. I was only able to eat a little over half the piece of fish, and only that much because I tried eating the dry out portion. When I mentioned my disappointment to the waitress she said she would take something off the bill, turned out to be $1.95 discount, which I almost felt insulted by. Considering this is a seafood restaurant this was the last thing I was expecting. I will certainly never be going back, and will warn my friends and family to stay away! read more

I wanted to love this place so much! There were good and bad, I guess it's a personal preference, but I know we probably won't be coming back unless Buffalo runs out of new places to try... We ordered the 2 lobster special, the surf and turf, the crab cakes, the rib eye and the new England clam chowder. I wish we were told about the fish fry, because it looked delicious and we could have avoided the terrible rib eye... so the crabcakes were delicious, even though I'm not a fan of breading, they were good! The clam chowder, can't sya the same. There was no chowder to it... it seemed like a can of clams, juice and all mixed with a cup of milk. Very runny, lots of rubbery clams, and nothing else... The lobsters were good, a little overcooked... The steak that came with the surf and turf was also good, nothing to write home about. The rib eye on the other hand, gross. When I saw it on the plate, I thought it was pork... it was steamed pink. There was no grill marks or any flavor to it. I truly believe they steamed it. Not sure if it was intentional or not, but I would not order that again. The winder dries were yum! Overall, I'd say it was ok. I wasn't sure what to expect from this place. It's in a random location. Very happy I ventured out. My wife and I came in yesterday for their lobster special- two lobsters plus sides for $25. The lobster was delicious. Very fresh. Was a little nervous about breaking apart a whole lobster. People at nearby tables gave us tips of what to do. We got the hang of it and it was definitely worth the work! At the end of the meal, the chef/owner came out and talked to us to see how our meal was. I always appreciate that. Such a hidden gem! It's a small resturant that packs big eats. The lobster is the freshest you'll have in the region since they get it from Maine regularly. But even if you're not a seafood person you'll find plenty of other favorites like chicken marsala or beef on weck. My husband & I thought we would try a new restaurant that offered steak & lobster. The Lobster dinner Special for $25 which included two sides seemed very appealing from their Facebook add. Wow... were we disappointed! The soup was lukewarm. The lobster was ok.... very small. The fillet which was ordered medium, came rare. The two sides were cold mashed potatoes & cold broccoli with absolutely no flavor. When we told the waitress about the filet & sides, she took them back not once, but twice with an attitude of being put out. My husband ordered a Diet Pepsi & I had coffee which she never asked if we wanted a refill. Terrible, horrible, no good place!!!! Seemed like they just didn't care if the customer was happy. The owners of this place should be ashamed of themselves for ruining Mother's Day for so many (which happened to be my birthday as well). They advertised to order early. I ordered 4 dinners on Tuesday for Sunday at 5:00. I waited for 2 and 1/2 hours for the food. So did countless other people! Dessert was part of the deal (chocolate lava cake or tiramisu). I got 2 Hershey candy bars to split between 4 of us. I told my husband not to get me a cake because the person who took my order said I would get a birthday surprise as well. This was my first experience with 2 Forks Up, and sadly, I will have to give it "2 Thumbs Down".....granted, it was Mother's day, but our order (which was paid for by my son and daughter-in -law as my Mother's Day gift) and was called in the previous Tuesday for 5:00 pick up was ready at 6:25 and they had run out of dessert, so a "fill in" apple roll was substituted. The food was "good" although cold (as most take out food in containers is), but why was there no contact made to let us know of the delay in orders? Luckily, we are only 5 minutes away, so my husband left and went back an hour later to pick up our food; I also feel orders that were placed that far in advance should have been guaranteed the desserts offered. Stopped in on a whim based on some foodie-esque rave reviews and it was totally worth it. The waitress was top notch, the cook came out and chatted, and the food is underrated!! Terrible. When we walked through the door the places was about 95ﾟ. We had to wait 10 minutes just to talk to the hostess. We waited over an hour and 45 minutes just to receive our food. When they brought our food nothing was correct and they were out of butter. We had ordered lobster. When we asked to speak with the manager he was irate and impersonable. He's a detriment to the restaurant and was blaming their deficiencies on us and was totally out of line with the things that he was saying. The manager had some severe perrsonality flaws and his customer service was less than acceptable. We will never go back and I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. read more

This nondescript small building on Millersport near North French has hosted a few places in the 20 years I've worked/lived around this neighborhood. Because of the Yelp reviews for this place, and its availability on Ubereats, I finally gave it a try. And I have to say, I was certainly not unimpressed. The shrimp skewers I ordered were nice, large pieces of shrimp. The dipping sauces they offer could benefit from more variety; perhaps a cocktail sauce and a cajun seasoning/sauce. I think this is more a result of takeout than anything else, but the shrimp seemed a little stringy. Just a little and could be explained by sitting in a styrofoam container until Ubereats picked it up since I was too lazy to go and pick it up myself. For a 1/2 pound burger, the price is reasonable and it is an excellent burger. I only got a plain one, not one of their speciality burgers but do plan on getting one of those at another time. Finally: the reason this is a 5 and not 4 star review is because of how they handled a potential issue. Long story short, one of the items ordered ended up no longer being available. They went out of their way to not only work with me to get a similarly priced item without having to reorder through Uber, they surprised me with a handwritten note and a free piece of cake for something that wasn't even their fault. Can't speak to atmosphere but don't let the exterior fool you - the offerings and food quality are not indicative of building that could be mistaken for a home. But for the lazy smog us - most definite 5 stars. read more

I went there for LOBSTER! I had 2 whole lobsters for a little over $30. They were fresh and cooked perfectly. So stop complaining about the other dumb things. Don't order the Fisherman's platter, unless you like everything on your plate deep fried all together. Everything tasted like very old frying oil. Shrimp had so much burnt batter on it that I thought it was a hush puppy. Shrimp corn chowder was good but would have been better hot instead of luke warm. Well decided to give this place a 2nd try and was very disappointed again from start to finish. Started at the bar we ordered beer to start which was a Miller Lite which tasted very bad and when the bottle cap was taken off had some kind of weird brown slime when wiped with a napkin almost like the bottle's were sitting in water or something? Nasty! Thought it was only one bottle so asked fo another one and was the same. Also ordered a Molson Canadian and tasted old and warm. So we get seated in a room off the bar which was freezing and on top of that a door in that room kept opening and closing people coming in and out and wasn't exactly warm out. Every time the door opened it would get colder and colder in that room. When asked why that door was being used and was told that's our handicap entrance. Ok well after our food came it was cold in about 5 minutes because of this door being opened and closed. Oh and the food was just ok nothing really special over priced tasteless dishes. Fish fry was very greasy and had a seafood pasta that was a 25$ dish that they charge 39.99 for really? After a 2nd try I would not recommend this place. Very disappointed again. We have been to both sites many times but this was the time we left utterly disappointed. After this big article in Gusto, they were understandably busy and under staffed. We were seated immediately but had to wait for service.When we finally ordered, our server told us there were only 2 of them working the inside and patio. Our "authentic Maine" lobster roll was a burnt roll with plain lobster meat inside. Certainly not what we expected or had ordered many times before. The potato salad was ok, nothing spectacular. When the bill came, I offered her a gift card and was told their system couldn't take it even though it said VISA on it. We had been looking forward to going to Two Forks Up a restaurant on Campbell Road in Amherst NY... It was my aunt's birthday and seafood is her favorite food. I have been to this restaurant a few times in the past. Tonight we were unpleasantly surprised. We went in three of us at 5:30 PM. Our waitress came in and took our drink orders. I was very hungry so asked if we could get some bread for the table and she said only if you have it with your dinner which we did we just wanted it in advance. She did not seem too happy about it. Then she came back took our food orders and disappeared for about 45 minutes. Throughout the dinner she made a fuss about bringing bread and was not cordial. We asked other waitresses to get her so we can order another drink etc. Even when we got the bill I asked if she could include the tip and split it into two halves on two cards and she refused to so we had to leave the tip in cash. Towards the end of our meal when she came around I asked her if there was a birthday special. We wanted to order a dessert with a candle for my aunt. She said we don't have candles. So we said okay we will have the cake and another dessert. The other dessert was stale and hard and we sent it back. Then a few minutes later we see another birthday being celebrated with a dessert and a candle... I was beyond surprised as our waitress just told us they don't have candles. So I asked another waitress if they have candles and she replied if a waiter or waitress in not too busy they may get you one or not. It all depends on them. I found this very insulting. We went up to leave and asked to speak to a manager and no one would tell us where they were... Then we told the server at the entrance about the occurrence of our request for a candle and the response we got. Two of the waitresses said well we told her we don't have candles we are out of them. And I said if that was the case she should have explained that to us rather than saying we don't have them here. They were completely unapologetic and did not respond other than defending their fellow worker. My aunt said that is very partial of you to offer some customers a candle lit for their birthdays while others have just been told there is no such thing. How do they think this comes across? Being the only other non-white family in there would lead us to wonder if this was being done intentionally. We did not feel a welcome or openness from our waitress all night and then they do this and when we brought it to their attention they were completely unapologetic. My aunt told them you guys don't care. They began to laugh and giggle like kids... I have never seen such a repulsive response from a food service industry after having been so insulted by their actions. I will not go back to that restaurant again and want everyone to know of the treatment we received tonight... Talk about white fragility... they could not even respond with a simple apology to something they so blatantly should honestly be ashamed of. Disgusting treatment... I should have read these reviews before dining at 2 Forks Up. You can see the common thread of major disappointment in this place. Owner should think about another career choice. Awful dining experience! I should have known from walking in the door. The place is filthy!! When we were finally seated outside, the patio was so dirty and greasy, the table looked as though someone barely took a swipe in an attempt to clean from the previous diner's spillage. If you took any pride in your dining establishment, I would think the proprietor would put in a tad of effort to at least clean the place. I won't even go on about the disgusting bathroom (minus stall door). Please don't think about what the kitchen is like! On to the "dining"! After 30 mins, our drink order was taken, 30 mins later dinner orders taken with the notification that they were already out of various side dishes (were seated at 6:00 mind you). After 1.5 hours later, dinner was still not there. Our waitress avoided our table and requests. Finally, we ask for some bread, which never arrived. We would have left if we were all not starving by now. After almost 3 hours and dark now, our dinners arrived cold, and sides consisted of 2 asparagus stalks. Thankful that my husband and I ordered clam chowder, or we'd have had to stop at Burger King on the way home. We ordered lobster rolls, depicted in pictures by the restaurant as rolls FILLED with lobster. Well ours had perhaps one lobster claw of meat in each roll. It was hard to even understand what we were paying $20 for....the fries?? There was so little meat, that had we eaten it in the roll, we wouldn't have even tasted it. I have seriously never seen anything like it. You could literally pick up all the meat with the fork at the same time. Had we not been dining with others ( they had invited us) we'd have complained...but we didn't ant to embarrass them. The clam chowder was the best, the service faultless...but the lobster rolls were lacking in lobster. In response to my complaint to the restaurant, I was told that they couldn't afford to serve rolls "stuffed with lobster meat"....but the respondent didn't deny that their pictures on FB depict exactly that. I wasn't complaining about their prices....but when I order based on what I've seen them post, I expect to get more than a slightly buttered roll for $20. I believe it's called deceptive advertising....and there are many complaints on Yelp about the lobster rolls. The response was snotty and didn't address my complaint. Plenty of good seafood around in WNY.....I won't patronize a place that isn't willing to own their deceptive practices. read more

First time at this restaurant. Had 7:30 reservations and didn't get seated until 8. Placed our order right away. Lobster app was over cooked. Hamburger was sent back three times because it was raw. Onion rings dripping in grease. My fish sandwich was over cooked and fries were cold and undercooked. Broiled fish was so over cooked had to be remade. Lobster roll was okay. Don't like your fries. They are too big and thick. Waitress was very nice and apologetic. She did comp the hamburger. Clams were chewy and not very good. Not a good first experience. Will try again for lunch. read more

Took one bite and it was very hot sent back asked for a plain broiled fish the two others were with me One had deep fried haddock the other had broiled haddock both of their fish were way over cooked. Even the lobster bites wrapped in bacon were severely over cooked the lobster was like shoe leather only thing good where the onion rings they were delicious the other two that I was with were completely done with their meals I waited a half hour for them to decide to finally bring me a fish replacement I sent it back told him never mind.
