Several kinds of roles I think there's an omg and honestly can't remember what else but so good

Great price for very fresh sushi. $34 for all you can eat the yellowtail was amazingly fresh. The rolls were yummy and inventive. My husband was able to find quail egg for his tabico which he loves and this is the first place we have found it in Reno. All you can eat, comes with appetizers and things like edamame and Goza. The rules were delicious and I really loved the popper which is pictured below. The only reason I don't give a five is because of ambience but honestly why pay for ambience at this great price for sushi?

I genuinely enjoy 2 Tha Joint. I've eaten here many times. It's just one of my go to spots. But most recently I noticed they added a few items. Thought that was cool and worth trying. So I'm sharing. They're pretty good! I enjoy a good jalapeño popper. And the spicy tuna over crispy rice is a nice addition. As many sushi places, they take their time making the rolls but it's worth it.

This was my 3rd and probably last visit for a long time. Sadly I've not reviewed Tha Joint previously because my earlier experiences were better than the last. The location is great for me, close to home and even when it's busy you can usually find parking. The inside isn't really decorated in any specific theme from what I can tell, looks like your typical strip mall sushi place. For this meal, we came for my daughters birthday for a late lunch. It wasn't very crowded but everything took forever. Ordering, getting drinks, getting the appetizers, the Sushi, it all took much longer than normal. There were lot's of employees so not sure what the issue was, but it almost felt as if we were inconveniencing everyone just being there. One thing that really annoys me at any sushi place is when they don't tell you what they have brought to the table. They just throw down a plate and let you guess which roll or Nigiri it is. I also don't really like the roll options, they are all very similar, most of them are spicy or have cream cheese, etc. vs. fresh fish rolls. The nigiri has always been pretty good here so that is what I will typically stick with. After a 2+ hour dining experience (not because we wanted to be there that long) we wrapped up and headed out. One of the servers did apologize to us for the long wait which was nice bit a little too late to redeem this place in my eyes, will move on to one of the many other great sushi spots in Reno.

This is my second time coming here. The service is absolutely amazing, the food is always fresh, I enjoy doing all you can eat, it does include endless sake.

I ordered takeout, the sushi was decent but not really the best I've had. It was a really busy restaurant too! They had a lot of customers so it was a little bit of a wait which I wasn't mad at . My order got messed up though

This is a great spot for all you can eat sushi! I've found the fish here to be fresher and tastier than the overpriced casino sushi spots. Service is almost always on point depending on busyness and staffing. The restaurant is definitely a great spot to enjoy AYCE sushi!

First time here and loved it! The "prison theme" is a cute concept, but glad that other than the naming of Sushi rolls, nothing else is prison-like! We went for the All You Can Eat Sushi, and I can say everything we ordered was excellent. For appetizers we had the Mussels and Miso Soup and then sampled a variety of Maki Sushi, Hand Rolls and Nigiri and even had room for a Quail Egg and Tobiko Shooter. Oh, and I can't forget the Green Tea Ice Cream to complete the meal. I can't say enough how much we loved this place. I think it's safe to say we will recidivate back 2 Tha Joint!!

This is the first sushi place that I have been too that is not in a casino. I am not a huge sushi person , but I saw they had vegetarian option so I decided to try their tempura veggie. When I say the service and roll was amazing. It was so delicious I was craving it after. I HIGHLY recommend the Tempura Veggie. I also tried their angry bird appetizer, which was just fried chicken and sauce. The chicken was good , but not the highlight of my visit.

Super friendly server, delicious sushi! We received our food quickly so we could be in and out with 4 kids. Highly recommend!

I'm giving this place and unusual five-star review, especially for an all-you-can-eat sushi joint. The sushi was quite tasty and seemed very fresh. Service was fast and could not have been more friendly. The price was reasonable for all you can eat sushi, although I always eat way too much and regret it. They even brought a nice little mochi or ice cream dessert. The dining room was clean and wide open, and the bathrooms were also presentable.

Nice spot want to go back definitely. Nice servers the sushi was so delicious and fresh. Came to lunch with a friend needed the all you can eat. It was such a nice time the pink lady was soooo good probably my fave roll. Music choice was upbeat and friendly. Will bring a larger crowd here for some fun.

Food is always fresh order comes out really quick, I love the service of night manager extremely friendly making sure u are well served. I'm allergic to shrimp I love the fact that kitchen staff always has a alternative. Ambiance is perfect always busy but u get a table quick a great place for family and friends not to loud.

This visit completely redeemed our first experience, which wasn't great. While all the neighboring restaurants had a very long wait time, we were seated immediately! The service was prompt, our waitress was friendly, and the sushi was absolutely delicious. Hot tea warmed me from the chill outside and everything was clean and inviting. We're so glad we gave this place another chance, and we'll definitely be back!

Oops, forgot the name, sorry. But it was good.

This is my favorite sushi restaurant in Reno!…read more Kuma has a good vibe as a casual but classy sushi restaurant. It is a real sushi restaurant with real sushi chefs who know how to properly prepare the sushi. The restaurant is actually small and located in a strip mall with plentiful free parking. There are no more than 30 tables and a sushi bar. Every time I go, it is bustling. The restaurant is always very clean and the tables are ready to serve. The food is well prepared and the service is fast. My favorite on the menu is the crab bake roll. To be fair, every sushi roll I have eaten there is delicious. Treat yourself to some good sushi!

I used to come to this sushi place because when I first moved here from another state, a friend…read morerecommended it as a pretty good new spot. My very first visit was actually quite impressive--I thought for an all-you-can-eat sushi place outside of a casino, it was definitely one of the decent spots in Reno. However, things went downhill on my second visit. I brought a friend from out of state and we sat at the sushi bar. Normally, when you sit at the bar, you can order directly with the chef, but we understood that there might be a language barrier, so we wrote our orders on the paper sheet instead. Still, service was a mess: our appetizer took forever and came out wrong twice, they forgot our tea, and even though there were only two or three tables plus just the two of us at the bar, they kept checking off items on our order sheet that had never been served. My third visit was the absolute breaking point. The waitress--a large woman standing in the back--walked over so painfully slow, with zero energy or interest in working. No smile, no greeting, and she didn't even ask where we'd like to sit until we had to speak up and request the sushi bar. That day, a soccer game was playing on TV. The sushi chefs clearly didn't want to work--they kept turning around to watch the game and chatter among themselves, completely ignoring us. There was no communication whatsoever until we finally had to ask, "Are you guys ready to make our food?" Only then did one chef ask, "Are you ready?" Since we sat at the bar just for some simple nigiri, we wanted to order verbally, but they insisted we write it down. My friend was confused because if we wrote our orders on the same sheet, they'd serve everything on one shared plate. Sitting at the bar means we wanted to order and eat at our own pace on individual plates, so we had to ask for a second order sheet. We then waited nearly 30 minutes for our sushi. Nobody checked on us or asked if we wanted anything else, and they actively avoided eye contact. Our second round of appetizers never arrived--yet again, they marked it as served and handed the paper back! I had to call the server over to ask why it was checked off when we hadn't received a thing. Then my friend submitted a second round of sushi orders directly to the chef. After waiting a ridiculously long time--nearly 20 minutes--we wondered where our chef went, thinking he just stepped away to grab ingredients. Suddenly, the chef next to him picked up our order sheet, muttered something to himself, and handed it back to us. Since his English wasn't great, we couldn't understand what he said, but once again, they had marked our order as complete even though we were sitting right in front of them with zero food! If a chef needs to take a break, they should hand off the pending orders to a coworker, not just vanish without a word. My friend was so frustrated that I finally asked the server why the order sheet was handed back without the food being made. She apologized and offered to tell the chef again, but by then, we were done. Having been disappointed three times in a row, we decided to call it quits, pay the bill, and leave. We will never step foot in this place again. It's really a shame because the owner is Korean. I have Korean friends myself, and I used to own a sushi restaurant too. Korean owners are usually deeply attentive to their customers. During my first visit, the owner personally took care of the guests. But later on, after leaving the floor to non-Korean staff, the service completely tanked. The staff lacked any enthusiasm, urgency, or passion for customer service. It was immensely disappointing, and there definitely won't be a fourth visit.

I got passed by 7 different times before a waiter told me to put the ticket in the holder for someone to come get it. The server was going to put it in the holder and walk away without it until I mentioned I'd already been passed by several times, then he took it with a huff. In 2018 I gave this place a 5 star so I wanted to try it again with my mother and my son. A little disappointed. I'm willing to give it another chance but not anytime soon. We were seated quickly. Now that can be attributed to the fact that we were early for dinner. We opted for a tabled, but there were plenty of seats available at the sushi bar. We only waited for a few minutes before the first wave of fish was delivered. Throughout dinner, we never had to wait long for the sushi to be delivered. The atmosphere was decent. It felt like it was more of a storefront than a traditional restaurant. But, it was a storefront and I don't care about that. I base my rating on freshness, service and cleanliness of the store. One thing that surprised me was the Kani (crab). I ordered it wondering if it would be real crab or imitation. It was real! I was happy and surprised. I ate my fill. Appetizers, nigiri, and rolls here are usually a smidge behind Tokyo in variety, taste, and fish to rice ratio on the nigiri, but still very good -- definitely above average. They did dial back the amount of sugar in their rice since the last time I was here. Kudos! The dining experience here is a much more low-stress experience than Tokyo Sushi. There's usually little to no wait unless you're in a large group, as opposed to Tokyo's madhouse that has waits frequently of an hour. Music isn't blasting so you can hear the person at the other side of the table speak, and service is consistently excellent in the relatively small dining room. It's about $4 less expensive with tax and tip then Tokyo also at $42 vs $46 total as of July 2026.
