this was SO good! i ordered ahead of time and everything went smoothly. the food: bossam (large) with oyster kimchi and jokbal (medium). the bossam was delicious and i especially loved all the kimchi it came with, portions are fair with the price point and i highly recommend getting the jokbal too! the space: just a to go spot

I was a little underwhelmed and so was my friend. The pork belly wasn't as tender as I expected and it was lacking in flavor. My friend mentioned being disappointed by the bossam as well. He said he had tried it at other establishments and it was cooked better and more flavorful. The spicy noodles were just ok. I'm not the biggest fan of cold noodles. The spicy sauce was alright. Next time I'd probably get the rice. I did like Bossam House's kimchi very much. It had good flavor and good heat. The place is tiny and takeout only. I didn't hate the food but I would likely try another place to compare bossam.

I've walked past this place nearly every day, yet I never had a chance to try it out. Finally, we ordered dinner from here. First off, this is a takeout-only spot that specializes in pork belly and pork feet. However, their kimchi, ssam, and Korean side dishes are surprisingly fresh and delicious. Although I was a bit taken aback by the spice, after a couple of bites, your body warms up to it. We ordered the half-half dinner selection - 1/2 Seasoned Galbi Bossam and 1/2 Jokbal Dinner (Non-spicy). At first, I thought the pricing was a bit high until I saw the portion. Amongst the three of us, we were unable to finish one order despite how tasty it was. It is hard to trust my take on Korean pork feet and belly since I've only had it on occasion, but this place clearly specializes in it. Meat is super tender, the sides are fresh and packed ready to go, pairing perfectly with what you would think would go best with some Korean Bossam. I am only giving this hidden gem a 4-star because it specializes in Korean bossam, and it may not be for everyone. While it comes with spicy noodles which are super delicious (exactly my type of Bibim noodles), if you're not a huge fan of pork, then your options are limited. So, if you're a Korean pork feet/belly lover/enthusiast, my review then give this place a try; it is certainly worth it. But unless you can take spice, I'd err on the side of caution; they mean it when it is spicy.

What's in the bag: Large Jokbal Half and half bossam/soondae Single spicy jokbal All came out to $107 and change but was given a discount since paying with cash $101 Each dish comes the usual fixings like cabbage, kimchi, radish, jalapeno/onion, samjang and salty shrimp as well as a side noodle which honestly we didn't bother to try. This was an insane amount of food and we now have a few days worth of leftovers. We all agreed the jokbal was the best out of everything. Tons of meat that didn't have a bad gamey smell that some places have. The bossam seemed to be least favorite but still decent. My mom really enjoyed the soondae. I recommend if you are looking for good quality jokbal!

Takeout service is quick and the bossam is excellent. Good balance of meat to fat on the pork, and they give you lots of refreshing sides. They definitely don't skimp on the kimchi! I recommend doing half spicy/half regular if you like to switch up the flavors. I loved the spicy jokbal. Super saucy (so you could use it as dip for other foods), and they also hid a couple rice cakes in there, which was a pleasant surprise. There was a lot of food for the price! My family and I had it as leftovers for several days. The plain bossam is best when it's fresh, but you can pop the spicy one in the microwave for 30 seconds and it's as good as new.

Pretty good Bossam/ jokbal that comes with all the sides/ wrap options such as cabbage and pickled radish and sauces such as bean sauce and salted shrimp. For about $40 you can feed up to 4 people with the half and half combo which I recommend. Spicy jokbal is coated in a sweet and spicy gochujang sauce while the original has the classic soy braise. They do a good job cutting and serving up all the pieces to edible chunks and the overall smell and texture is not off putting. You can place an order and pick up within 15 mins.

Got an order of large bosssam. While eating, I'm constantly noticing a fishy smell. I'm korean so I'm used to the salted shrimp sauce smell. It smells fishy but today, it kept bothering me. So I took a closer smell and absolutely, something is wrong. It's not the fishy smell. It smells rotten like it went bad. Threw it out immediately and hoping I don't get sick..

I came across this place on Yelp and decided to go today. This place is purely for takeout and they specialize in bossam (pork belly) and jokbal (pig leg with skin). We ordered a large size jokbal and it came with a nice portion along with a side of spicy noodles which were surprisingly delicious! We also loved their kimchi and pickled radish. We ordered a side of raw oysters to have with our meal and found them to be fresh and tasty. Everything was seasoned just right. I also found the women who assisted us to be very friendly. One woman, who I think is the owner, spoke perfect English and was very friendly. I'm definitely going to have to go back soon to try their namesake, bossam. We are already planning to pick up some things for the New Year's Eve drinking. This is an awesome place. The food was super fresh and tasty. I highly recommend!

So good!! I've been meaning to try this place forever and today as luck would have it was in the area. I got the half and half bossam and spicy jokbal. The price is a bit high, but you get all the fixings plus some buckwheat noodles and a lot of meat. This is 3-4 person size serving or a very hungry 2 person serving, so it's definitely worth the price. The spicy jokbal was so good! Well seasoned, tender, and with just the right bit of chew. The bossam was delicious, fatty, soft, porky goodness. The lady inside was very nice and helpful. 10/10 would absolutely recommend.

I tried this place for the first time because I was craving pork and kimchi, so I got the bossam lunch box. Although the bossam had a fairly strong pork smell and the taste, it was still good. However, the next day I think I got food poisoning because I woke up really sick with nausea and other symptoms that I probably should not refer to on a food app. It's so bad that the thought of any food made me nauseous (for the record it is impossible for me to be pregnant LOL). This is just my experience, maybe bad luck...? Update: Please reconsider eating at home. I have never fallen this ill before, making it quite possibly one of the worst days of my life. In these times, I like to support small businesses and would consider it slightly insensitive to leave negative reviews, but my food poisoning has been so bad. I have not had food poisoning since I was four. Order at your own risk :,(.

Korean braised pig feet, sliced boiled pig and blood sausage take out at Palisades Park, NJ The place was located next to the Woori wang mandu so we took out frozen soondae to see how it tasted. I boiled the soondae for 7minutes at boiling water and it tasted pretty good. But the width was very small compared to others from other Korean banchan stores. We would like to try their braised pig feet next time. read more

My absolute favorite for bossam take out! While it is a little extra, would recommend the Garlic upgrade - it's a tub of preserved garlic that is not strong but rather sweet; the jam-like consistency pairs deliciously with the pork and the pickled radish. I believe every M and L order comes with the side of the mixed noodles, so keep this in mind so you don't accidentally order extra noodles. There is a cash discount but they take card as well. read more

Pretty solid Bossam and Jokbal place in the town. They also gave us complimentary side dishes. Also garlic toppings were good addition to the food. Service was good. As for ambiance, it's not a restaurant but a takeout place. Would try them again. read more

We ordered Half Bossam and Half Spicy yokbal, cost $40 (not $38-39 like the old menu). The set comes with boiled lettuce wrap, kimchee... The set also include spicy noodle, the noodle is super delicious, a little sweet and tangy spicy. Bossam is tender and flavorful. My partner prefer the spicy yokbal. Its also very tender. Half and Half and extra rice ($1) after tax is $43. The portion is enough for 3, we have some leftover since we only have 2. Great experience with BOssam House. Highly recommend! The lady on the phone taking our orders was super nice and calm. She gave us good suggestion. read more

Stopped by for dinner, picked up several items and the service was awful. The owner went to Korea and they had his parents working but he had visitors and would not help customers but chat with other people. Finally received my order and got home. The food was decent except for the chemically spicy noodles. And 4 pieces of Oysters for Oyster Bossam Large size is a ripoff. Here is the kicker. Both my wife and I got food poisoning that evening and were sick for 3 days. I am thinking of reporting them for an inspection of their kitchen... I don't think I would go back. read more

Free Text: I was never a fan of jokbal (Korean pig trotters). But mind and heart changed after I savored it at Bossam House. Soft and tender, it makes butter hard to chew. And oh yeah, the bossam is top shelf status for me. Quantity: The "halfsies" for $38 satisfied my family of 4 (wife and two boys). And my boys eat like middle-aged men (ajushies). Quality: Freshly pickled Korean cabbage and pickled dried Korean radish slices (unfermented) are on point. For me, the excellence of these sides are essential as companions to this category of Korean food. read more

Staff was friendly in helping us choose what to order. We ordered the Jokbal and Bossom Single portion and it was enough for 2 people to share (good portions)! The meat was tender and a little fatty which we prefer and our order was ready in 2 minutes. All of the sides went really well with the meat. We especially liked the noodle sauce. This whole meal was $20 and would come back again for the portion size and quality. read more

5 stars - if you love bossam and jokbal, go here right now. I love that they have a bossam and jokbal combo that comes with so many sides!! Free noodles, daikon and cabbage wraps on top of the usual kimchi and pickled radish, jalapenos, garlic, ssamjang and saeu-joet. The combo (38 bucks) feeds 4 adults. Once you start, you won't be able to stop. Bossam with pickled daikon and radish in ssamjang with a couple of garlic - Yummy. Just an explosion of flavors. Will be coming here more often. read more

Went for Weekday Lunch Special Food - 5/5. Bossam was beautifully glossy and cut into slices that give you just the right amount of meaty bite. The ssamjang and salted shrimp gave the delicate pork a salty and savory kick while the fresh kimchi added a lot of spice and crunch. The pickled daikon and napa cabbage made for a flexible wrap with a hint of tartness which meshed well with all the other flavors. *글이 좀 길어요. 가끔씩 친구들이랑 특별한 날 픽업해서 먹던 작은 행복이었는데, 오늘 생일이라 집으로 배달주문을 했어요. 어플이 없는 상황에서 safari로 연결이 되길래 정보 입력하고 주문을 했더니 어플을 다운받도록 넘어갔어요. 어플 다운받고 다시 입력해서 주문하고서 어플을 살펴보던 중에 오더가 두개가 있는걸 보고 혹시나해서 가게로 전화하고 상황 말씀드렸더니 이미 두개 다 주문이 들어갔다고 하더라구요. 주문한지 2-3분밖에 되지 않았을 때라 하나를 취소할 수 있는지 여쭤봤는데 90프로가 준비돼서 취소를 못한다고만 말씀하셨어요. 심지어 여자분이랑 통화하고 나중에 남자분한테 전화와서 말씀하신 내용이에요. 그래서 왜 이름 확인을 안하셨냐고 했더니 종종 똑같은 사람이 똑같은 메뉴를 여러개 시키기도 한다네요. 2분만에 족발보쌈이 준비되는건 한번도 본적도 없거니와 웬만하면 취소나 환불해주는데 여기는 더 이상 말이 안통할거같아서 그냥 갖다달라고 하고 끊었는데, 생각할수록 어이가 없어서 다시 전화를 드렸고, 이번에는 그냥 받는데 앞으로는 더블 체크를 하시면 좋을 것 같다고 말씀드렸더니 알겠다고만 하셨어요. 제가 겪는 불편은 생각도 안하고 당연하다는 듯이 말씀하시면서 끝까지 사과는 한마디도 안하시더라구요. 제대로 주문하는 법을 몰라서 두개 들어간지도 몰랐던건 제 잘못이지만, 똑같은 사람이 똑같은 메뉴를 곧바로 두개를 주문했는데 더블체크도 안하시고 바로 준비하시는 건 좀 경솔하지 않았나 싶어요. 적은 돈도 아니고요. 너무 맛있고 한국 온 기분이어서 앞으로도 애용할 예정이었는데 당분간은 못 먹을 것 같습니다. 덕분에 행복하던 생일에 기분이 상했거든요. 한국과 같은 서비스를 바란건 아니지만 기본서비스라도 지켜주셨으면 어땠을까 아쉽습니다. 주문 두 개 넣은거 인증하기 위해 리뷰를 두 개 올리고 싶었는데 안되네요. read more

As a long Korea-lived Korean, I know bossam very well. Especially, bossam is my favorite. Many restaurants serve a few days old meats which cause meat smell and meat dried. This restaurant bossam is different. It is savory and juicy, very good. Their side dish soup must be made with real anchovy base. I can tell they care foods. I highly recommend this bossam for takeout to your home or parties. read more
