We have been to 333 Pacific several times in the past, but never for Happy Hour which is from 3-6pm, so we thought we would give it a try. The price is good at $10 for the appetizers and drinks on the menu. This is one of the Cohn Restaurants which usually have a good reputation for excellent food and service, and we live closer to another Cohn Restaurant, Vintana, which is one of our all time favorite places to go for a special meal. The view just outside of this restaurant is spectacular, especially around sunset since it's right by the Oceanside Pier. We ordered the 333 filet skewers which were delicious and the meat was very tender. The sweet chili calamari sounded good, but was surprisingly bland and a little chewy. This was very surprising because overall I've had great meals at 333 Pacific and this was definitely subpar for them. Also, in comparison, Vintana's Happy Hour menu is much larger and everything on their menu is excellent, including their calamari which is one of the best, so this one paled in comparison. We then tried the 2 Bloody Mary Oyster shooters for fun, and it was very good, though the amount of grated horseradish definitely surprised me and packed quite a punch, but overall it was a fun and refreshing appetizer. Overall, we'll return again someday, but I would just recommend avoiding the calamari. Most of the food is excellent, and the view is spectacular if you can get there by sunset. read more

Took my husband here for a special birthday dinner and it did not disappoint! Ocean views, white linen tablecloths, and a menu with something for everyone. The star in my mind was the kids menu -- all parents know the dread of going to a "fancy" restaurant with younger kids. But here, for $20, kids get a full three-course experience with plenty of classics to choose from. My 4 year old enjoyed his little crudite, buttered pasta, and brownie sundae. Took my mom and stepdad here to celebrate her birthday, and the place did not disappoint. They both went with the steak sandwich lunch special--huge hit. I had the meatloaf (was in the mood), and it absolutely delivered. Rich, flavorful, satisfying. Paired it with an old fashioned that was smooth and well balanced. We shared a couple appetizers--the pork belly was just okay, but the calamari was crisp, tender, and really well seasoned. We also tried a couple desserts--my mom went for the brownie sundae, I had the butter cake, and we split both. We agreed the butter cake edged it out. We were cruising the coast in a convertible and would up here after making a wrong turn and winding up at the Marine base. We stopped in for a light lunch and a cocktail. We were seated on the patio which offered a great view of the pier. Great for people watching. I had the Wedge Salad which was wonderful. 333 Pacific offers a more upscale dining experience than most places in O-Side. The food quality is top tier and they have a great selection of steaks and seafood. We like to split the meat platter which has steak and a pork chop. The service is good, not Valle' good, but good. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating with a view. Our group has been returning to 333 for 15 years. The staff has always been attentive and kind. The night manager actually gave us one round on the happy hour price, the reason for the extra star!! Now a new GM, David Robinson, has entered the equation. Many in our entourage are fans of the key lime pie martini. This item has been taken off the happy hour menu which was met with disappointment By the whole group of about 40 people. We have sent so many people there!!! The staff has stated many times over the years that this will always be on the happy hour menu. Dave could not have been more indifferent or condescending! He did not convey any appreciation for loyalty and made us all feel like we were mere peasants and our business was not needed, or appreciated. Other restaurants in the area didn't open until 5pm or wouldn't allow same day reservations for a party that large. We were seated promptly. The bread rolls took a while to arrive. We ordered a couple cocktails for the dinner as well as appetizers and entrees. The calamari was average. The short rib macaroni was pretty good. Our entrees came out at the same time, which was fantastic. I ordered the blackened salmon, which I'm sure was the best dish on the menu. It was delightful! I did want to mention we also had our silverware and dinnerware exchanged, which was a nice touch. The ambiance was upscale but not as classy as you'd expect for a steakhouse. For entrées, we tried the Pan Seared Mary's Half Chicken ($34.95), the Spiced Tomahawk Pork Chop ($47.95), and the 20 oz. Cowboy Ribeye ($68.95). The service and food were excellent. My only critique that is negative is the service charge they tried to pass to me. I reviewed at the bill, which was approximately $400, and noticed a service fee. When I asked my server what this fee was, she explained it was from corporate to pay for health services for employees. She promptly removed it when I asked her to. I'm sorry but this place was terrible. My husband, daughter and I went for our anniversary and our experience was nothing like these reviews. Our service had no personality, didn't mention once about our anniversary, and forgot the special until I asked about it. My husbands steak was severely overcooked and my scallops were overdone and the risotto was underdone. The rosemary bread was hard as a rock. The anniversary dessert that was brought to us was on a disgustingly dirty plate. Honestly the best thing was my daughter's salad and the side of green beans. We don't like to send food back but when the manager came to check on us we did say something about the steak and he took it off our bill. We also mentioned to him that it was our anniversary which is why I'm assuming we were brought dessert. Our server had no interest in offering any coffee or any other dessert with it either. It is located conveniently and nicely right across the beach so we had a beautiful view of the sun setting sitting outdoor in the patio area. They had their old fashioned week and we tried their coconut old fashioned. It was good but we also got their standard old fashioned and I prefer that more. When you do make a resy, you can add additional celebration touches to make your dinner memorable, such as flowers or champagne or both. Short Rib Mac & Cheese: This is so good! The short rib is so flavorful & I love all of the different cheeses they use. Filet Trio: I love having a variety & this was a good dish for me. 3 filets. 1 topped with crab, asparagus & bearnaise, 1 topped with bleu cheese & peppadew jam, 1 topped with green peppercorn sauce & crispy onions. All the toppings were wonderful but I think I would ask for just bleu cheese & no peppadew jam because it was super, super sweet. Each filet was cooked nicely & was tender. So I popped in actually just to get some quarters from the bar because Oceanside thinks it's 1979 and still requires change for their parking meters. Well, I'll start with the good points. Dalicia was awesome, sweet, polite and professional. Ambiance was lovely. I asked two waitresses about the ceviche vs the ahi tuna light meals and both told me that that was a tough choice, but favoured the ceviche, so I ordered it. I started eating ceviche in Peru when I lived there in the 70's. I love it, but I must say this was some of the worst I have ever had, to the point I couldn't even finish it. It is advertised as fish and shrimp ceviche. I would say it was 90% fish and the fish was tough and chewy. The shrimp was almost non-existent. I would guess they cooked it in straight lime juice. In any case, it was awful. I don't usually leave reviews and this restaurant was lovely, but the ceviche was so bad I had to warn you. read more

We were just there 3/7 and the service was still exceptional but so many menu items have changed. If the review stopped there, I'd give it a 4.5 Star. ......but it doesn't stop there. My wife and I ordered the steak sandwiches of the lunch special money at 26.95 each. Not sure it's a special, but hey, you pay for the location and we knew that going in. The sandwich was not what I was expecting. You are basically given a loaf of bread with 4 small pieces of steak on each half and a bunch of deep fried onions. Very bland, nothing special, of course we did have a full loaf of French bread each! Too many good and great places to eat to settle for a mediocre sandwich at an exorbitant price. That said, I'm editing this review as one of my issues was a misunderstanding and I have deleted that part of the review. The other issue was the sandwich itself. David, I think the or an owner, called me after reaching out via yelp and we had a good conversation. He offered to refund both sandwiches, and I allowed him to refund one of them as we did eat them. Excellent evening! Been wanting to try out this lovely steakhouse/seafood spot for quite a while. It did not disappoint. I had a coupon that brought me in and I will certainly return! We enjoyed the grilled artichokes and scallops, and my hubby had the baseball cut ribeye. We also loved the spicy coconut cocktail and the "whiskey & blood." Both were tasty!
