One of underrated Thai food spots in Daygo my family has been coming here for years, staff friendly, little pricey, sometimes but worth it.

I was in the Poway area to visit a friend and we decided to grab something something from this Thai restaurant, Aaharn56 Thai Cuisine. This was my first experience at Aaharn56 Thai Cuisine and I was thoroughly impressed with my dinner here. I will definitely recommend it to others. Aaharn56 Thai Cuisine is a very traditional Thai restaurant that has a wide variety traditional options on their menu and they even have a happy hour menu as well. I was thoroughly impressed with the array of soups, noodles, curry, and seafood that they had available. There's plenty of inside seating, and although the tables appeared close together, it's still felt private enough with the two sections of seating. Service was exemplary, superfast and very friendly. I appreciate it our waitress explaining the orders in detail and being understanding of our heat tolerance in relation to the food we were ordering. I started with the Tom Kha soup at level 4 heat. It was flawless with the flavors & great in a cup. We then had the prawn dumplings, and those were extremely flavorful, and I love the sauce that came with it. I also enjoyed my yellow curry with vegetables at a level five heat, and even their naan was delicious. Even with a glass of wine and a Thai tea, we ordered one more dish with White Lotus and the bill came out to under $85. If you are in the area, I highly recommend Aaharn56 Thai Cuisine, especially if you can make the happy hour with a $5 menu and $5 drinks. You may want to call in advance, because it gets crowded in the evening. read more

Delicious food and drink and at reasonable prices. I'd find it tough to work out at the gym across the street with this gem literally ten steps away. Their Pad Thai with chicken and shrimp is worth the visit and so is their Thai Tea with boba. Parking is ample. The place is clean and the service is excellent. If you're craving Thai Food and find yourself in this part of down, give them a try. Thank me later. read more

Aaharn 56 is a great thai spot in north county! It wasn't busy on a weeknight so our party got seated immediately. Portion sizes are big, food is flavorful and waiters were attentive. I ordered the green curry at level 3 spice which was perfect! I was able to take home leftovers as well. The restaurant has a lot of tables with plenty of seating. I recommend coming here if you want thai food but don't want to go all the way to convoy! read more

Delicious and spicy Thai food was calling our name this night and we ordered take out from here before so we decided to actually sit and dine here for this time. This spot is definitely popular for and is a busyish shopping center. My go to is always yellow curry with chicken and I love spice so I did a level 5 which definitely has heat but I enjoyed it; highly advise stirring it up so the spice spreads throughout the dish. My husband did the panang curry which has become his new favorite as well as the seafood soup which was loaded with all different types of seafood even with it being just a cup. Service can be a little slow to start but the food comes out fast and I truly think it is because they are a busy spot and you can tell they are hustling but the quality of food I think is really good. read more

Dinner with family in this beautiful space. I love the mid century meeting modern decor. There's warm browns and also some sharp patterns to accent the space. I tried this place for the first time yesterday evening. Food, great. Atmosphere, great. Service needs some serious revision. I was served by a young waiter who started off with no greeting but rather a "do you know what you want?" Then he put my order in wrong by adding chicken to my salad after I intentionally ordered it without protein. When I mentioned this to him he told me the salad automatically comes with protein. When I corrected him he literally said, "that's why you need to read the menu". Before we started going back and forth, my friend asked him to bring over the menu. He holds it up from afar saying "see, its says it right here". I proceeded to ask to hold the menu. I show him that he is clearly wrong, protein is an additional charge, yet he does not apologize. Instead, he bluntly tells me he will remove the chicken and then drags the salad away. The server was extremely rude when all I wanted was to not be charged for something I did not order. He then came back with my salad after removing the chicken and assured me I would not be charged by saying "i got you dude", as if it is some big favor to me??? This is no joke the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Not only did he tell me to read the menu to my face, he doubled down, then didn't even apologize. He was lucky we were not a different kind of group. In the moment I was too shocked to ask for a manager, but looking back I should have. I came here a handful of times. I like the fact that it's close to home and the parking lot isn't terrible. Entrees are more authentic than most - thus the 4 star rating. I also appreciate that they have more selection of noodle soup items ( more than just boat noodles) since noodle soup is my comfort food of choice. Food is pretty good! We got the e-san ribs as appetizers. Those were, in the kindest words, as mid as you can get. Wonderful flavor but the tendons inside were unsettling. We also got the lamb massaman curry to split. This was the best part of our meal, easily. I love going to Aaharn Thai, even though there's another Thai restaurant in this area that we also like. You can never have too many Thai food options, in my opinion. The food at Aaharn is always fresh and yummy! Favorites include tangerine chicken, pad see ew, tom kha soup, panang curry and cream cheese puffs. And the service is great! My biggest (and only) complaint is the loud doorbell that goes off every time someone goes in or out. I wish they'd fix that -- it's disruptive when eating there. read more

I did not get to eat here yet but want to shout out to this business that they are closed for renovation on 4/7 and 4/8 but I didnt know this and placed an online to-go order via Toast for a papaya salad and veggie pad Thai. I go to pick it up and thats when I found out they were closed. But, the restaurant thought ahead and made sure the order you placed was canceled and the cost refunded. My family wanted to try someplace new since our favorite thai restaurant recently shut down. I was hopeful due to the good rating & reviews but unfortunately, the food was very disappointing....Wayyy too spicy on mild. They added lots of chili flakes which have a peppery kind of spice, the worst kind imo. It completely overpowered the taste & it was hard to eat more than a few bites in a sitting without a glass of water. The pad see ew was a little too greasy and salty, basically doused in soy sauce (hence the dark color of the noodles). The fried rice was better but nothing special. Aaharn 56 Thai quickly made it onto our repeat list after our first dine-in visit -- this place delivers on flavor, freshness, and warm hospitality. Having tried take-out from here and loved the food, we wanted to try dine-in too. Chicken Satay: Tender, juicy skewers were very mildly marinated served with a creamy, well-balanced peanut sauce and a tangy cucumber relish that added the right amount of brightness. Tom Kha Soup: Comfort in a bowl but watch out for the spice that creeps up on you! The broth was rich, coconutty, and very aromatic. Drunken Noodles with Chicken: Bold and spicy in the best way. Extremely flavorful but next time we will definitely ease back on the spice for this dish.We typically order medium spice (level 5) at Thai restaurants but given this was a spicy dish to start out with, 5 turned out to be a bit too hot for the kids. Crab Meat Pad Thai: thoroughly enjoyed this dish- noodles were perfectly cooked and sauced, with just the right amount of sweetness and tang. Vineyard Golden Fish: This dish stole the show -- crispy whole fish with a tangy, sweet-and-sour salad ( which I wish they added to the menu as a stand alone!). The presentation was gorgeous, and the fish was flaky and tender inside. The service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Located in Penasquitos (PQ) area of San Diego. I have ordered from here twice for work events/meetings. I order from EZ Cater. Just be aware if you get delivery. It will deliver to Rancho Bernardo but not to One Paseo Del Mar area, even though they are similar distances in opposite directions. So many colleagues said this is their favorite Thai restaurant in North County. It may be one of mine as well. I ordered the Package A or B from EZ Cater. This is a reliable Thai restaurant in north county that I often default to if I want Thai food up there! Their service is great and I never go wrong with my orders here. It's great for group - I usually come with a group of 4-8 people. I often end up getting pad thai but I've enjoyed everything I've ordered here. It is on the spicier side but they can customize spice based on your taste (speaking as someone who typically can just handle mild spice). Parking is available in the parking lot. read more

The favorites in our regular rotation: Pad Thai with Tofu Basil Eggplant with Tofu Mango Sticky Rice Crab Fried Rice Chili Lime Fish (can't remember if this is the official name) Red Curry with Tofu Massaman Curry with Tofu Bonus for having online ordering. We've ordered takeout here a couple times and unfortunately the flavors were just a miss for us. The curry was too thick, the pad see ew was very mushy for us, and the portions are really tiny. Their pork and cabbage dish came in a small bowl that was half full or less (and this is before we took a bite). I really like this place as it never disappoints. This has become my favorite Thai restaurant in the area. Service is always friendly and the food is always delicious. Panang curry with chicken and eggplant with basil and tofu were new dishes that I tried today. Loved it. I always request level 2 spiciness. I felt the curry was more spicy than the eggplant. Regardless still delicious! From the moment you walk into Aaharn, you are greeted with a sweet lady and well kept interior that felt clean and sophisticated. Our server was extremely attentive keeping our waters full and making sure we were satisfied. I was delighted from the first sip of thai tea that had a strong bold flavor while being sweet and creamy. We got the pad thai, khao soi, yellow curry and chicken satay. The khao soi was our favorite dish of the night, it had a satisfying play on textures with the crispy noodles intertwined with the egg noodles that picked up the sauce wonderfully. The pad thai was saucy and had some good heat. Mango sticky rice is my favorite dessert of all time and they definitely do it right. The texture of the sticky rice with the generous amount of coconut sauce and mangos paired perfectly. My friends and I were celebrating my birthday so we were yapping away & having a great time, sometimes getting a little too carried away in conversation. Thanks to Yelp, I was able to discover this hidden haven that is tucked well in a plaza. 11/17/2024. Before your food arrives, ask for the spicy condiments! Chicken Satay ($9.95): the typical tender chicken that you come to expect with that sweet and creamy peanut sauce that you need this all for an appetizer, 4/5 stars. Kao Soi with chicken ($14.45): soft noodles under the panang curry. The curry is creamy with a slight sweetness, while their spicy level 8 was a 10 elsewhere. The soft noodles had a chew while the fried noodles added a welcoming crunchy texture, 4/5 stars. Honey Tangerine Chicken ($15.95): a mild sauce but the batter needs more of a crisp. This was still an enjoyable dish, 3.5/5 stars. The servers were polite and were gracious for our first visit. We told them that we've enjoyed the food and will return regularly. Have been dreaming about this meal since I had it 2 weeks ago... literally some of the the best thai food in SD. Came here with 3 other people and ordered 3 dishes: lamb shank and naan, pad thai, and khao soi (not pictured). I was worried it wouldn't be enough for 4 people but the lamb curry platter is MASSIVE. The picture truly does not show you how big this dish was in person. The lamb was very tender and the curry sauce in this dish was very flavorful. The addition of the cherry tomato's in this dish was odd though, it didn't really pair well with anything else in it. We ordered a side of rice to pair with it. The pad thai was also very flavorful and we got it with crispy pork. The skin was a bit chewy but still crispy overall. We also got khao soi noodles with chicken and I love the crispy noodles on top. The curry soup was also very delicious, and had the perfect amount of spice for me. With these 3 dishes, we still even had a good amount of leftovers. Service was great and food came out quick. One of the dishes was not edible because by the time the noodles got here they were so congealed they were in a big ball. The rest of the food is OK, but I got a note scolding me not to order things mild in the future. If you're not going to offer mild food at a Thai restaurant, you should not put it on your menu and you certainly shouldn't scold your customers because it's a good way to lose them. If you have a time to write a note, you have a time to make the food the way it was ordered. There are way too many restaurants out there to be playing this type of game with your customers. read more

Aaharn in Rancho Penasquitos is worth visiting for anyone who appreciates flavorful Thai cuisine. From the moment we stepped inside, I was impressed by how pretty the interior was. Always a great time here! We got the Panang Curry with Mock Duck (Vegan) and that was one of the best Panang Curries we have had! The service is good, ambiance is nice. Spicy level goes from 1-10, we got 7 which I'd say is on the slightly challenging side so that's one thing to watch for on what you mention! read more

Cute little Thai place in Carmel Mtn right next to the 24 hr Fitness! My parents took me for my birthday lunch and we sampled 4 of their dishes! They ask for slickness level from 1-10 so we went in the middle with 5 for all of them...let me say, I can stand heat very well and this was still spicy!! Beware! We had the veggie Pad Thai, Red Curry with chicken, Chili Lime Fish and the Papaya Salad! Everything was delicious! Our group favorite all around was the fish! Stacked high with fish and big filets!
