Tonight we had our first meal here, and it will be our last. One of our burritos was refrigerator cold. It had to be microwaved to be eaten. We called the resultant to tell them and they wanted us to bring back the cold one to exchange for a new one. It was already being nuked by the time the phone call was finished, my husband called back and told them never mind and if they could just credit us next visit. Which won't be happening. A second burrito was supposed to have whole beans. And of course, refried inside. All of the burritos were not wrapped well and everything fell out of mine. (See photos) I can't imagine paying their crazy prices for other burritos to have them be stone cold or incorrect. This is supposed to be a place that makes food when you order it. Emris (however she spells it) was rude as f*ck, a lazy rude employee to say the least, we sat down at a table where they had not picked up the food from the last group that was there; however we did ask another employee before doing so and he said it was okay, she comes over shortly after telling us to move in the rudest way and when we said we'd like to sit here she said she didn't have time to clean up 2 plates. So I have given this place a try a few different times. While my family loves it I have always thought it's just ok. Last night I decided to go by again and I ordered their signature steak and shrimp burrito. Let me tell you I was floored when I got it because the burrito is well over a foot long. The Asada was tender the shrimp were seasoned really well and there were a ton of them. I for sure found my go to dish there. First time trying this place and it was amazing! I did not know that it was the same people of the previous restaurant Rositas. Being the same owners made it even better. I ordered $1 tacos on taco Tuesday and then me and my mom shared some dishes to try different things. We ordered shrimp a la diabla which was super good. I ordered the Camelia Drink to start with, a traditional Micheladas spicy tomato beer, but comes with loaded oysters on the half shell and grilled prawns, on the side. It was very tasty! For our meal, I ordered a Chimi, Relleno, Taco combo plate, and my wife ordered the soft fish tacos plate, and a soda. The bill came to $40, and we left the place stuffed. Read the reviews and went to 7 Mares Grill. Unfortunately our food was just not good. The chicken and beef fajitas meat was extremely tough and bland. The tortillas were small. The upside was the guacamole was good as well as the grilled onions & bell peppers. The side of beans was also good. The plate was 12.99. Should have ordered Guacamole, onions, pepper and beans. You have to pay for chips separately it doesn't come with the meal. We also had beef tacos with crispy shells. The shells were so greasy the meat fell right through them. And there was so little beef I can't figure out how that happened. $10.99 Again but hey the beans were good. 46.00 dollars for 3 people just three plates and 3 drinks. Chips not included. read more

I don't like giving 1 or 2 star reviews I really don't because I know people work hard for their brand and product. This was a crucial error that can not and should not happen to other people. So we ordered a bean dip, and guacamole both came with chips. Our 2 shrimp burritos came with chips and we asked for extra salsa and they were happy to give it to us. I want to start off by saying the food wasn't seasoned that well I felt like the rice and beans in the burrito were delicious as was the bean dip. The guac was lacking in flavor and so were the shrimp in the burrito. I took my first bite and was like wow something is tough in there maybe it's the extra flab of tortilla that sometimes gets folded into the burrito. No I took another bite and realized that it was my shrimp that were still tough. I immediately began to mentally panic because I knew I had just taken a bite of a shrimp that didn't reach the proper cooking temp. Want to know how I know....? Well they were really pink indicating that they were previously frozen and that's quite alright. But I know when they cook they shrink these shrimp were still the same size and had 0 flexibility. So I'm lead to believe that they weren't cooked to the correct temperature. Here's a Tip.. when a protein is cooked it becomes tender and likely to fall apart. I was struggling to chew my second bite. I removed the shrimp from my mouth and realized it was inedible so I removed all the shrimp from my burrito and put them in the fridge to eat later. Yea, so I SEASONED the shrimp that had NO sign of seer what so ever indicating that maybe they were boiled. Either way there was no flavor added to these shrimp by the cooks. I used them later to make a quesadilla at home after I recooked them. I was so disappointed I literally told myself I'm not going to try anywhere new anymore during this shelter in place. I'm giving 2 and not 1 star because the food was ready about the time they said it would be, like I said the bean dip was super bomb!!! Better than any bean dip I've had in ages. The food was hot, the cashier was nice enough, the amount that they give for the price is good. I had a total of 9 huge shrimp in the burrito. Which would have been more like 7 had they been cooked right due to shrinkage. Like I said I can't put past the inedible shrimp. Like how can you do that to someone if I were old I'd be HELLA sick. I laughed jokingly and said to myself "are they trying to give me the corona virus"? By weakening my system by serving me under cooked shrimp which makes me more susceptible to becoming sick? I highly doubt that was there intention but sh*t y'all gotta be careful with cook temps. Use a thermometer and check that the shrimp are at least 165 degrees. I'm sure they have other things that might be tasty on the menu but I won't be back. Not now, not ever because if I was serve food carelessly then who knows what other improper practices are going on behind the scenes. Boiling is an okay method to cook shrimp nothing wrong with that but throw lemon and bay leafs or onions or SOMETHING for flavor. Again, boiling is an okay method to cook shrimp check the doneness by TASTING the food before it's served because if that would have happened this could have been prevented. Pinkness doesn't indicate that the shrimped cooked FULLY it just means that it's no longer frozen! read more

This place doesn't look very impressive from the outside but we wanted to try it anyway. The waitress was friendly and service was fast. We ordered the king enchiladas and the molcajete and they didn't disappoint! The enchiladas were full of crab and shrimp and had a fresh,creamy flavor. The molcajete was huge! With chicken, steak, chorizo, shrimp, cheese, cactus in a delicious sauce, yum! Both meals came with their signature rice and beans. Prices are good and portions are large. We decided to try this place out on Thursday. Everyone that we've talked to has said how good it was. Even though El Camino is our favorite spot to go for local Mexican food, we thought we'd give another local place a try. When we came in, we waited until the lady behind the counter was dealing with orders. She turned around and told us to go ahead and pick any seat "in that section " pointing to our left. We sat down in the back booth by the window. After a couple minutes the lady came over with menus and took our drink order. You can tell she felt rushed. She was the only one waiting on all the tables. The place wasn't full but enough to keep her on her toes. She brought us our drinks and some chips, salsa and beans which were all yummy. Few moments later she took our order. Again, feeling rushed. Not too friendly. I just shrugged it off as she was feeling overwhelmed. Once we got our food, which we didn't have to wait too long, so that's good, that was the last time the waitress came to our table. No refills on drinks (2 ice teas, 2 waters) or even chips and salsa. Maybe they just give one full of chips?! That's how some places are, so no big deal. At least refill the drinks. My husband drinks a lot and one cup was leaving him parched. I should have brought my bottle of water in like I do sometimes. Anyway, she never came to even drop off the check. We ended up giving our daughter money, guessing what the bill would be to go up and pay for it. To review the service, I'd give it a 2 star. Now for the food review. My daughter and I ordered the "Famous shrimp burrito" and my husband order the Super burrito, wet with carne asada. Since I love tacos, I also added one chicken soft taco to see how they were. My daughter and I liked our food. My husband didn't care for his burrito. He said there wasn't a lot of meat in it. Since we like our food and my husband didn't, I'd just add another star to the overall review. Would we come back? Probably not. We'll just continue going to El Camino. The owners know us, the food is always yummy and the service is quick but also friendly. Maybe the lady here was just having a rough day. I saw a picture of chile verde chicken enchilada but they didn't want to make me one so I got the red enchiladas. one of the pictures shows the green leaf, guessing it's sage cause I've cooked with it before. I guess its better than that roach pic at La Costa. lol Not that great of a chicken enchiladas ranks in the lower than regulars ones I've had. I did ask for the two over easy eggs that came out just right. points on that one, but not worth $4 bucks more, I get reimbursed, hehe. rice ?? well lets just say I got that dry sticking to the bottom of the pan rice, no flavor or appeal to it. it did'nt even taste Mexican. Beans as any other place. The jamaica was just right. not sugar tasting points on that. I think the best part of my review is the one, I repeat one tiny I do mean tiny salsa I got was actually spicy. My husband said tasted like Faire food, not the authentic Mexican flavor we have in the past. Salsa had no heat....chili that should be Pasilla was flavorless .....not sure if new cook or what but for 25 bucks very very disappointing. What's not to love about Mexican food? IMO this is one of the best places in town in terms of yummy food made just like your abuelita. They have repeatedly made our in house or our to-go orders just perfect. Never any mistakes. Cooked just right and large portions. We order a variety of food from here. We've tried the shrimp ceviche tostada which is piled high with big shrimp and avocados. Chile Verde and the green sauce is excellent with a kick of heat! Burrito Marino which is a humongous 14" burrito, perfect for dinner one nite and lunch the next day! It's seriously that huge! A la carte Soft corn tacos your choice of meat, normally we get asada. Their chicken tortilla soup is amazing with big chunks of shredded chicken, it's very filling. Hubby usually orders the Fajitas Deluxe if we eat there. It's chicken, beef and shrimp served with typical grilled veggies. Kids usually order a cheese quesadilla or the BCR burrito, thats bean cheese and rice. It's BIG, you'll be taking some home. My go-to is the veggie burrito. Its a little juicy so eat over your plate or you'll be sorry you didn't! The Super Nacho7s are yummy too. Your choice of meat with plenty of cheese topped with a generous scoop of sour cream and guacamole. Taquitos with chicken are great too! I also like their chimichanga. Again big chunks of chicken. So whatever you decide to order I'm sure you'll be satisfied. They offer beer, Fountain drinks (one free refill), horchata ($1.00 /refill), jarritos (certain flavors) and Mexican coke. They will serve you chips and house salsa while your waiting for your food. Chips are kinda thin and break easily, my one and only gripe. Service is friendly and welcoming.
