Delicious grilled fish plate. Served hot, with corn tortillas, rice, beans and pico. Husband got the same but Diabla. That sauce was so good and he shared with me! Couple of Bohemia's and we were so satisfied and content. read more

This place has quite the menu. The portions are nice and large. Free bean dip with chips and salsa. Chile Verde meat is my favorite. My mom loves the catnitas. The beans are so delicious they must use lard. If you ask for a coke they bring you a Mexican glass coke so ask for pepsi if you want fountain soda. I've had the fajitas and they were pretty good as well. My husband had the super burrito and I highly recommend. read more

Came in for lunch and the place was empty and quiet. The hostess/server was friendly and provided great service. The place was clean. I ordered an enchilada which came with rice & beans and I had shredded beef in it. The was pretty delicious. I wanted to try their seafood entrees but I had to play it safe since it's my first time here, lol. read more

Super yummy Mexican place. It feels like a family run business. The beans and rice are AMAZING ... They must make them from scratch, the old-fashioned way. I got the fish fillet with garlic buttet and gosh dang was it good and SUPER-GARLICKY! My girlfriend got two carne asada tacos that were really delicious and holy moly stacked with meat. It's actually too much food. The margaritas, which are practically the size of your bathroom sink, are good too ... Not sickly sweet and very refreshing! read more

Two small flautas with nasty old guacamole, rice and beans, 1 a la carte Chile relleno, and small side of runny bean dip for $27 and change. Food was overall a disappointment and over priced. This place is wonderful! I love how genuine and caring the staff is and how delicious the food is!! I fell in love with it a couple years ago when a coworker took me and we split a mocajete and it was phenomenal!! I also love getting the chicken and shrimp salad and their quesadilla! Also they have homemade ranch that is sooo good!! I've never had a bad meal here! But also recently It's been difficult with the SIP and I heard they were serving to go orders! Not only was the food as delicious as ever, they have a whole system set up outside to keep everyone safe! They even included extra ranch and chips and salsa! Rude server(Emeris). We got told we can sit wherever. There was a table with two plates. Instead of picking up two plates, she rudely TOLD us to move, didn't ask. Made us very uncomfortable and upset. Even after we mentioned he said he can clean it in a second. read more

Of course I used yelp to help lead me to this hidden treasure. When pulling up don't let looks fool you..... To start the chips and salsa and bean dip are perfect starters. The menu is deep and everything sounded deadly good but I landed on the molcajete and damn I'm glad I did. Think fajita in a bowl with cheese and veggies. Stopped by after spending a few days near the delta camping. Breakfast was needed and the first place we chose wasn't open. Nice big parking lot was a good sign, parking was easy. The menu had lots of delicious sounding Mexican breakfast options, and we chose huevos rancheros. The wait was short, and while having coffee we were served delicious warm tortilla chips with salsa and bean Even though there were few staff our food was served promptly. The food was so delicious, creamy ranchero sauce with Ortega chiles and tomatoes. Tasty beans and rice. There was so much food we couldn't begin to finish it all. We are traveling so we won't be able to come back very often but will make a point to eat here whenever we are out this way. Our server could not have been more attentive and helpful. The booths are comfy, lovely music at a nice background level, could not have been a more pleasant experience. read more

Decided to try a new place and this one looked interesting. My intuition served me well as this place impressed me. Nothing fancy but who needs fancy Mexican food! The bean dip that they brought out was the best I've ever had and I'm now ruined for any other place. I ordered the fish tacos and they were good but the rice and beans overshadowed the tacos! I don't even love rice and beans and rarely eat them but these were really good. I also tasted the Agua Chile (not sure of the spelling) which was very different than the one I had at a different Mexican restaurant. This version was so much better and the flavor was complex. I'm for sure ordering a whole one for myself next time and my friends had best keep their forks in their own plates! read more

Emris (however she spells it) was rude as f*ck, a lazy rude employee to say the least, we sat down at a table where they had not picked up the food from the last group that was there; however we did ask another employee before doing so and he said it was okay, she comes over shortly after telling us to move in the rudest way and when we said we'd like to sit here she said she didn't have time to clean up 2 plates. Best Mexican food in the Oakley/ Brentwood area ! You have to try their carne asada !!

Our very favorite local Mexican restaurant. I highly recommend the bacon breakfast burrito, steak ranchero or Juevos Mexicana for breakfast, and Chile relleno is delicious for lunch or dinner. When the chef is singing in the back the food is extra good :) My son calls it "Esmeralda's place" because of the sweetheart waitress that we always look forward to seeing there. read more

Waitress was good until she left us hanging and went to break with out telling us and no one helped us out until I literally turned my head around stared at the cooks to get their attention because they were chatting with waitress. We also got up to go pay because we were waiting for our bill for too long... btw there was only 1 other customer and that's it. Tonight we had our first meal here, and it will be our last. One of our burritos was refrigerator cold. It had to be microwaved to be eaten. We called the resultant to tell them and they wanted us to bring back the cold one to exchange for a new one. It was already being nuked by the time the phone call was finished, my husband called back and told them never mind and if they could just credit us next visit. Which won't be happening. A second burrito was supposed to have whole beans. And of course, refried inside. All of the burritos were not wrapped well and everything fell out of mine. (See photos) I can't imagine paying their crazy prices for other burritos to have them be stone cold or incorrect. This is supposed to be a place that makes food when you order it. So I have given this place a try a few different times. While my family loves it I have always thought it's just ok. Last night I decided to go by again and I ordered their signature steak and shrimp burrito. Let me tell you I was floored when I got it because the burrito is well over a foot long. The Asada was tender the shrimp were seasoned really well and there were a ton of them. I for sure found my go to dish there. However, next time I'll need to bring an extra person or two with me if I want to have any chance of finishing this massive creation. read more
