I selected 3 stars for the quality of the food in relation to cost. In addition, some menu items are ridiculously overpriced. I understand that as hotel guests we are also paying for convenience, but that should not compromise on taste. That aside, the gelato is good but portions are small. Service was excellent. I was helped by Amanda who was amazing. She was friendly and patient while I decided on what to order for breakfast. Even in the early morning hours, Amanda had positive energy and a sweet disposition.

Had breakfast for a few days here and I like it. I tried their few menus and my favorite is the chocolate chip and buttermilk pancakes. It's so fluffy and buttery. All the ingredients are fast and taste good. I would say the 7 mile breakfast has a great price for the big portion. Henry is the great server. He's nice, funny, and very tentative. The service is great and quick. The restaurant is clean and quiet. They have indoor and outdoor dining areas. Love the elegant fireplace.

Two visits Appetizers mid day and Breakfast This place actually has decent food! Located at the Sheraton Carlsbad Resort and Spa. On arrival we decided to get some appetizers . COOPER took great care of us. He was kind and personable. We ordered the THAI CALAMARI - coconut panko, spicy mayo, cilantro, thai slaw WHIPPED FETA DIP -Served with Persian cucumbers, sliced watermelon radish, and warm garlic naan GOCHUJANG CAULIFLOWER -crispy cauliflower, hummus, finished with fresno chiles, cilantro, sesame seeds All the appetizers were delicious! If I were to stay on this property again I would order the Calamari and the whipped feta dip again. Breakfast time! I made reservations through open table. It was busy in the AM. Isabel saw that I was waiting for a while. She was very pleasant, checked me in and our group was immediately seated. I appreciate that. Emily was our server. She was kind and attentive. We ordered the following PARISIAN OMELET - gruyere, mushrooms, spinach, caramelized onions CARLSBAD SCRAMBLE -egg whites, asparagus, bell peppers, goat cheese basil pesto 7 MILE BREAKFAST -two eggs, bacon, sausage, 7 Mile potatoes, toast PROTEIN BOWL -quinoa, avocado, kale, almonds, lemon vinaigrette, basil, feta, poached egg The presentation was nice and the entrees were all great! Hands down the Parisian Omelet was my favorite. You can't go wrong with the hearty 7 mile breakfast. The lighter options would be the Carlsbad Scramble and Protein bowl. Oh and barista Jaslyn made some yummy mocha lattes too!! Overall experiences both times were awesome! Delicious food and great service! Thank you!!!

    Classic burger with tater tots

Prices are expensive as we ordered 2 classic cheeseburgers at $23 each. It comes with fries or tater tots, of which we got one of each. Burgers were tasty and cooked nicely. Staff was friendly but service can be slow. Good thing there is a hotel $15 credit we can use during our stay as it's part of your resort fee. We went to the pool and then ate lunch at this outdoor spot. Casual dining for families.

So we came here and had a good time. The bathrooms are clean. The chicken strips are great. Cassandra with a C is the best employee I've had in a minute. Highly recommend coming.

This spot is a hidden gem. It's located on hotel property and shares a patio with the hotel's pool. The bar can be casual but the food makes it pretty elevated. Loved the whipped feta dip, burgers and salad. A great spot if you're in the area.

    Steak and potato with broccoli

Ambiance is nice, you almost can see the ocean depending on where you sit. It's by the pool so if people are being loud that's the only negative. Otherwise sit inside. There are outdoor heaters if you go when it's cold and there is a sitting area with a fire pit. The service was cool just wish she would've started with, "we are still serving from our lunch menu and the dinner menu will start in about thirty minutes". Instead when I asked for what I saw on Yelp, she said we don't have it. I then asked so all the stuff I see on Yelp you don't have anymore. She said oh that's on our dinner menu which starts in 30 minutes. I'm like bruh ‍. How was I supposed to know that. Anyways the pretzel itself was ok, the cheese sauce was horrible. The wings could've been cooked a little longer, there was some SnapBack when you pulled the meat and skin from the bone. My steak and broccoli were delicious just wish they could've added some pizazz to the potato. Tasted like a potato with no seasoning. Hubby said his steak was good and so were his fries. Drinks were probably the best thing we had.

We had dinner plans and just needed something to tie us over, so we stopped in for some margaritas, fritto misto (fried calamari), and gelato. The margaritas were good, fritto misto was nicely seasoned and breaded, but what I loved most was the gelato. I had the pineapple gelato and it was so yummy! It was made with fresh pineapples and had a nice tartness to it. I look forward to stopping by next time I'm in the area! Service was super friendly, especially at the gelato counter!

We visited 7 Mile today, Saturday, July 1st, 2023, at 12:00pm which is located within the Sheraton Resort. I made reservations on open table, but they weren't busy and had 6 tables already seated. I want to start off saying the view is wonderful. You can sit outside on the patio which faces the pool area. It took a very long time for someone to come greet and grab our drink orders and apparently we weren't given the drink menu along with silverware when seated. I ordered the Pappardelle Bolognese as well as a Moscow mule, and my boyfriend ordered the shrimp scampi with a Battlemage Red Ale. I want to give the chef some credit because the food was delicious. It took forever to order, forever for the food to arrive, and they forgot to bring chili flakes BUT... Like I said, the food was really good. Would I come back? Probably, but the 2nd visit would be solely to see if service was bad again, meaning this is an ongoing issue . If it's the same way for a 2nd visit... Especially at a slow time, I'm afraid I'd have to take my orders to-go. Please try their food, it's really very good... But if you're looking for attention from your Waiter... There's a chance you will be disappointed. Bon Appétit!

Decided to eat here since it's conveniently at the hotel we're staying at. This restaurant is connected to the hotel lobby. It was a very open space with high ceilings. The chairs with the cushions are comfy. The service was mid. It wasn't crazy busy when we went (there were about 5 other tables?) and we were seated right away upon entry. We were a group of 5 and got seated at the table with 1 utensil setting. When our first appetizers came out, we were not given any plates or additional utensils and no one was in sight to ask for them (the waiter delivered it and left without asking if we needed anything). I ended up grabbing the utensils from the table next to us. The food was okay, but for what they charge, we had hope the quality would've been better ): Tried the Frito Misto which is calamari with shrimp and fried olives, Papardelle Bolognese which is a meat sauce with very wide pasta noodles topped with ricotta cheese, the Caesar salad (not pictured), shrimp scampi, and the Tartufo Pizza. The most enjoyable item was the pizza which has wild Mushrooms, Caramelized Onions, Truffle Cream, Arugula, and Reggiano. Sadly, the shrimp scampi was watery and bland. Not sure if I'd go back, even for the convenience.

I recently visited 7mile Restaurant and had an absolutely fantastic experience, thanks in no small part to the exceptional service provided by Spencer. From the moment we walked in, we were made to feel right at home, and Spencer's attention to detail made the meal even more enjoyable. Bring back the gochuchang cauliflower! And the Cheeseburger Pizza!!

Great Spot for Drinks, But Pricey…read more We didn't actually have a meal at 20|Twenty, so I can't really comment on the food, but we did stop in for drinks and enjoyed the atmosphere. It's a beautiful, comfortable place to sit, relax, and have a drink, and the service was good. The one disappointment was the coffee. For a restaurant at this level--and at these prices--I expected the coffee to be much better. Overall, everything is definitely on the expensive side, which is somewhat expected at a resort, but you definitely notice it. One funny thing we noticed: the sign above the door appears to be backwards and reads "Twenty|20" instead of "20|Twenty." It's a small detail, but once you notice it, you can't really unsee it! Overall, we enjoyed our time here and would give it four stars based on the atmosphere, drinks, and service. I'd come back for cocktails, but probably look elsewhere for my morning coffee.

You can enter it direct from the hotel lobby or via an exterior entrance close to the main hotel entrance. It features a large and beautiful dining room, stylish bar and ample seating outside to enjoy the outstanding Southern California weather. We had two breakfasts here. We ordered off the menu on day one and ate outside, and we ordered their Weekend buffet ($25) on day two and ate inside. Both breakfasts were made extra special by our wonderful server Digna. We were so lucky to enjoy her fun personality, engagement, and overall charm on both mornings. On Day One, I ordered something I had seen on menus for years, but never tried before. My Chilaquiles ($22) were" a savory bowl of Boraccho beans, queso fresco, avocado, eggs, red onion, bathed in a guajillo chile sauce". I thanked Digna who taught me how to pronounce it. I loved the taste- the sauce and the tortilla wedges, sliced avocado, and egg. What a feast. On Day Two I went with the buffet and went straight to the big pile of smoked salmon, red onion slices, chive cream cheese and mini bagels. The salmon was high quality thinly sliced, just the way we like it. The buffet also had everything you want in a buffet- hot dishes, pastries, yogurt, and fruit. The fruit was great-plenty of watermelon, assorted melons, and berries. I did find it odd that when I went to toast my bagel, I saw they only had one toaster with four slots. Unfortunately, the two left slots did not work, so restaurant patrons were lining up to toast their breads one at a time. I mentioned this to one of the staff, and his response was "Yeah, we know." Anyway, that indifferent reaction was more than counterbalanced by the fantastic food and Digna's 1,000-watt personality. And what's the origin of Digna's unique name? I asked her and she said her mother named her after a street in her home town.

it's saturday night. we don't have a reservation. they tell us the wait is over an hour. what do we…read moredo? we wait. and thank jebus we did, because this ended up being one of the best meals i've had in a while. we started with the prawn. we each got one, and given that they're $10 a skewer, our bill started off STRONG. the prawns were perfectly roasted with hints of mezcal and prickly pear. the candied habanero or whatever garnish of death was on there totally kicked my ass in terms of spice. in true Asian fashion, we ripped the heads off and sucked all the goodness out of them too. no shame. you don't waste the good stuff. then the cornbread showed up. the group collectively agreed we'd pass on this one next time. for me, the goat cheese threw me off, but that's entirely on me because i hate goat cheese and still knowingly ordered something with goat cheese. i played myself. there was absolutely nothing wrong with the dish, but compared to everything else we ate, there wasn't anything particularly standout about it either. but then. the fucking broccoli showed up. it is literally charred broccoli with chermoula, lime, and peanut. that's it. BROCCOLI. and after taking one bite, i learned that broccoli could, in fact, be life changing. suddenly i was a new woman. a woman who wanted nothing more than to sit there and stuff her face with massive amounts of broccoli. unfortunately, i couldn't because we still had dishes to taste. and so i moved on to the pork belly. when people describe something as "melting in your mouth," they are specifically referring to Campfire's pork belly. because that's exactly what it did. just melted all up in my mouth and lit my taste buds on fire. normally, i find pork belly prepared this way a little heavy and can only stomach a few bites, but i could have eaten the entire dish. but of course i didn't, because i'm a lady. and the octopus was about to show up. and show up it DID. i don't like celery, and this dish had plenty of it, but because it was shaved super thin, it was actually super palatable. the octopus was incredibly tender, and there were little bits of chorizo throughout that gave it the perfect balance. also, love me a good chimichurri sauce. and finally, last but truly not least, the chicken. a whole ass half bird, charred to perfection with roasted red pepper, kumquat, and fennel. apparently i like fennel now??? i didn't even know i liked fennel like that, but here we are. if i hadn't already been stuffed to the absolute brim, i could have destroyed this entire dish. the chicken was juicy and tender, and paired with the fennel, you're almost like just having a healthy dish??? LOL. although we went in with every intention of ending the night with s'mores, our bodies simply said no. there was no more room at the inn. see what i did there :P so instead, we left and went on a very long walk to digest all the delicious goodness that was Campfire. i cannot wait to go back. mostly for the broccoli, which is a sentence i never thought i'd write in my life. and this time, i will absolutely be making a reservation.

I always order the same dishes: the porridge bread, roasted broccoli, and ribeye for two. Since nothing else on the menu particularly interests me, those dishes are generally good--but when I'm spending $250-$300 on dinner for two, I expect the food to be exceptional, and it just hasn't been. I also haven't found the cocktails especially impressive in recent years. Campfire helped bring craft cocktails to Carlsbad, and my husband and I still reminisce about drinks like the roasted beet and charred corn. Unfortunately, the current cocktail menu hasn't made the same impression. Campfire is worth trying if you've never been, but as a local, it's no longer a restaurant I look forward to visiting regularly. These days, I'd probably go about once a year.

The good: - Good quality and flavor The bad: - Where's the protein? Just a few pieces of steak (It's like playing where's Waldo to find it) - Where are the fries? Just a few fries (Do you see them?) - The salsa? Enough for a single dollop I would have said something to the staff, but no one cared. Dirty and un-bussed tables. No one checking in. No napkins or utensils brought to me with my food. Etc... I really wanted to like this place. It was so un-filling for over $20, I had to eat lunch after lunch. Waste of empty tortilla calories and next to no protein. This place has all the opportunity and quality to be a solid go-to. Highly disappointed.
