We were craving Korean and this place was open so we went in and were SURPRISED at how great it was! They have only been open for 3 months now. You can get your Korean fashion fix from all the K. expats or art students and watch Korean music vids (dreeaaammy) on the large projector. The service was great, our waiter was like your insider friend who hooks you up with all the goods. First restaurant we ate at in San Fran! We had the Creamy Tteok Bok Ki rice cake, vegetables and bacon with cream sauce as our appetizer..omg it was DELICIOUS! Also, the dish is huge too...I guess you do get what you pay for because it's the price of an entree! We totally recommend that! For our entree, we decided to try the Bu Dae Jji Gae and see how it matches Pocha (my fav Korean eat in NYC)...and unfortunately, it doesn't match..Pocha's had the cheese and that was the gem that ties the whole dish together! Anyways, the food is still good and I will definitely return when I'm in San Fran! One thing that I really like about the atmosphere was that it is really airy which is great because I don't want to smell like grease after dinner. read more

Living across the street and just down the block from 707, I'll admit I came in here a little tight to begin with simply due to the noise that comes from outside this place from the post-midnight rush. Coming on SantaCon for my first visit, I was nervous about a potential wait. When I arrived, there was a large crowd of people waiting in the entry way, with a little more than half the tables opened. The group in front of me was seated within a few minutes, and I was told to sign in on the clipboard. Fortunately several of the people crowded in the entryway were Santa's who had already eaten and were trying to muster up a second wind and head on their way. I was told it would be about 3 minutes after the first group got seated before I (party of 1) would be seated. Seemed strange to me given the amount of empty tables, but I'm from the Midwest so I'm used to watching the grass & corn grow for fun Once seated, there are NO bar seats or bar seating, for my single parties or those looking for this type of experience. (As someone who usually is a party of 1, this is my personal preference) I was given the menu and had to look it over several times to find the bibimbap. I looked over the soju and saw a small for $15 or large for $25. I asked about the size of the large (always looking for the best bang for my buck, and my commute home is one full rotation of the stoplight at sutter & Taylor), but my server caution the large would be for a group of people. Ordered the chicken bibimbap in a stone bowl ($13 for regular bowl, $15 for stone) and mango soju. Within 5 minutes, I was served a tray of condiments (kimchi, a familiar seafood tasting strip and some type of veggie sprout I think). My soju came within 15 minutes of being seated and handed a menu. My bibimbap appeared soon, sizzling in its stone bowl after with a bottle of spicy gochujang. As for the taste: for me, the bowl, outside the chicken & added condiments, was fairly tasteless, though the serving was big. As these are simple ingredients, I think it was the greens in the bowl in particular that left something to be desired. The soju was sweet and went down easy. A good portion and price for single person. The table next to me had gotten the wings which were a HUGE portion of 10 large bone in wings, I think they were $16-$17 that make me want to bring friends here when they visit at the end of the month. The vibe of kpop projected on the wall and playing over the speakers made for a fun atmosphere. I don't recall seeing a single person inside the restaurant that looked a day over 40. In and out in under 50 minutes. Would return to try more kinds of soju and sample more of the menu. read more

This restaurant gets 4 stars only because of the food. I came here with my family is yesterday, and we were concerned about their service cause it pretty much sucked. the only had two people working. One was working as the server, host, and cashier while another person was a lone ranger in the kitchen. One person in the kitchen isn't the best idea for a restaurant that is always filled with tourists. Anyways, they had amazing food that made us wanting more. read more

Excellent food! My friends and I were wandering around the Bay Area and stumbled upon this hidden gem on Yelp. The food portions were HUGE, the food was great (especially the Bim Pop, and the Dumpling Soup!) and our waiter was very helpful. My favorite part though was the K-Pop music videos constantly being projected on the walls. If I'm ever back in town I'll definitely be bringing people here! read more

Food is good. Fish cake needs improvement. Servers need to be more accommodating, they were pleasant, but the initiation of ," you guys need more side dishes?" (It never happened.. when we ate there- I have to call the' and get their attention to refill my side dish). No doubt I am a Korean dish enthusiast, however, this place need more Korean vibes. They have a projector and displays Kpop music videos, but you cannot make a music video request; particularly, BTS music. Nice little restaurant that my husband and I tried because cocobang looked like there was going to be a long wait. Am I glad we decided to eat here instead. We got seated right away and the staff were friendly and fast. The restaurant is nice with a great atmosphere. I really enjoyed the kpop music videos playing and projected on a huge projector. I had the gal bi and it was delicious. It was so tender and flavorful. Although, my husband said that their bibimbap was just okay, and their sides could've used a refill of bigger portion. Stayed at the Grand Hyatt and wanted Korean food. This place was only 4 blocks (6 min) walk from Stockton. I have to say I was pretty impressed with the La duk boh ki. I was in Union Square with my family and a friend. Our mission: bibimbap. We were tired of Stone, so I suggested 707 Sutter. K-Pop videos are always a win with our group! We headed over and got seated almost immediately, which was unexpected for a Friday evening. We ordered the corn cheese, BBQ bul go ki, fried chicken wings with soy garlic, strawberry soju, and bibimbap with chicken (of course). The food was pretty good. The chicken wings and bibimbap were definitely the highlight of the meal. Service was a bit slow as there were only about 2 servers for the entire room, but all in all, it was an enjoyable night and a great way to kick off the weekend. read more

My friend and I came here after spending the entire day walking around in San Francisco and we were looking for something warm and delicious. This place did not disappoint! All the food was warm, spicy, and flavorful in the best way. It was all really authentic Korean food. We got the kimchi soup with pork, the pan fried kimchi and pork, and the budae jjigae (army sausage and spam stew). The kimchi soup with pork was phenomenal - the broth was so tasty and the pork was so tender! It came with rice too, which went really great with the soup. It was pretty spicy, but it was so good we couldn't stop eating it. The pan fried kimchi and pork was also good, and it went so well with the rice. The kimchi on it was also pretty spicy. The budae jjigae is big enough for 2 and came boiling on its own portable stove! Everything inside was delicious and comforting, but we especially loved the ramen, rice cakes, and spam. The service was a little slow and people got a little loud when they had too much soju, but the place was dimly lit and soothing. We were definitely very satisfied after and would come back again! read more

We are staying close of the Union Square district and we want to try a Korean restaurant. That place was really good. It wasnt expensive and the food was really great and tasty. I took a meal with beef and my bf took a meal with octopus and both really enjoyed our meal. If you are going there, try the soju too. The drink is really good but kick fast. Really a nice ambiance and the service was really fast. We went a monday nigh in november so the place wasnt too full. I really recommend that restaurant to everyone if you want to eat a good meal to a raisonnable price. read more

707 is a dangerous place, I'll always find myself wanting to order half the menu. My go to are the potato Croquettes and a steamed egg soufflé. May substitute the rice cakes in cream sauce if feeling up to it. It's a cozy establishment that can still serve a few large groups, with prices on par with SF but not insane, highly recommended. I've gone with 6-7 friends and set up at a few tables pushed together, and the wait staff is just as pleasant as if I had a party of two. Food is always brought out quick and HOT. -- if you don't want to get burnt, patience is a virtue. read more
