Braised Short Ribs

We found this place on yelp and decided to give it a try and so happy we did. [[HIGHLIGHT]]First off the bar is amazing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was great and food was outstanding. I would highly recommend making reservations we did not but we're seating quickly.

Very well stocked bar with a lot of local spirits

We needed to have an early dinner and were in the very quant town of Louisville CO so we made a reservation at 740 Front. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We had a 5pm reservation but arrived at 4:30 and were able to sit at the bar which was very inviting, for a drink and dinner.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff was super friendly and the bartender gave us great menu suggestions. We started with drinks, my wife had a Manhattan (they have a great selection of whiskeys) and I had a Melvin IPA, their beer list is solid. On the food side, we had the happy hour Deviled Eggs and they were very tasty then we split a Caesar Salad which was perfect sized for two people. For our main courses we went with the Chilean Seabass and Shrimp Pasta. The seabass was prepared perfectly with a side of grilled asparagus and the shrimp and pasta were done with a delicious garlic butter and white wine sauce. When we were in the area we will totally go back. 10/10

My prior review gave this restaurant a 5 star. My current review is a 3 star. Why? A sharp increase in prices - OK, I have gotten use to that but it is accompanied by significantly smaller portions. OUCH! The yelp website shows two $$ signs for costs. That is old, very very old news. Today, I would show the cost of food as either $$$ 1/2 or $$$$. A small (very small) dinner salad at or near $10.00 and which contains maybe 2 lettuce leaves + a few cut vegetables is Pricey. What about the food? Sorry to report, not as good as before. Possibly, they have a new chef or having a bad night. The beef short ribs was a small portion, pricey, heavily covered in a brown gravy, over cooked and ordered and finished by an 11 year old girl who ordered from the adult menu. The child who is small and weighs 52 pounds ate lots of French fries and a root beer to fill up once the beef was finished. Ouch, again! Call liquor prices (Grey Goose) for martinis match up to the highest price restaurants in Denver. The ambience is still excellent as was service. If it wasn't for the later, I would have given it 2 stars. I hope they quickly get back to where they use to be because they really had a great formula of very good food, decent size portions, and reasonably fair prices for what you got within a beautiful setting.

Panna Cotta

I have reviewed this before. Enjoyed everything. Staff was good! Atmosphere was nice. Food was good. Had a rib eye! Nicely cooked with a nice flavor! Creamed spinach was good. Could have been cooked a little longer with less nutmeg. But good. The Panna cotta was perfect. Drinks were made nicely. Enjoyed!

This is a great place to eat in Louisville. I always consult Yelp when I am in a town I've never been to before. It led me to 740 Front and what a great recommendation it was. 740 Front is located in downtown Louisville and takes reservations online. It was once a general store (I think) and has been repurposed into a beautiful restaurant. I love repurposed buildings so this was a plus for me. Service was friendly, prompt, and altogether great. The food was equally great and for a higher end place in Colorado, it was pretty reasonable. I started my meal with a wedge salad. Their version was excellent. You'd think it would be an easy salad to make and you'd be wrong. Plenty of places get it wrong. Not this place. My entree was the prime ribeye with a side of sautéed mushrooms. The mushrooms were rich and garlicky and the steak was perfectly cooked and delicious. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. If you're in Louisville and want a good meal, 740 Front should be on your list.

Bison ribeye

Came to 740 front for my husbands birthday and everything was so delicious! The atmosphere is very romantic a little loud by the bar area as they play sports through their projector but overall an excellent place with delicious steaks. We ordered the bison ribeye and it was cooked to a perfect medium rare, the flavor was a little sweet as expected from a bison steak it also had an interesting Smokey flavor maybe it had to do with their special butter they put on their steaks, their mashed potatoes was an excellent combination to pair with. We also ordered the prime New York strip and again cooked to perfection, super tender and juicy. The service was overall fantastic, waitress would check up every once in a while and for the first time they actually asked if it was okay to bring the food since we were still eating out appetizer, that to us was a huge bonus! Definitely recommend to pass by for any special occasion or just a simple date night!

740 Grilled Salmon, blackened

Came here for our 33rd anniversary. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were seated in the upstairs area, very intimate.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They gifted us glasses of Prosecco, for the occasion. I had the blackened salmon, my wife had the bison filet. Both excellent! Our server Tyler was awesome! He was responsible for the whole upstairs section. Yet, we never felt neglected.

Came to this restaurant with my boyfriend for a date night. The atmosphere is lovely. I like the historic vibes in a quaint building. The decor is a mix of old and new and felt romantic. The food was good but not out of this world amazing. The Spinach and and Cheese dip is more like cheese with spinach and other veggies in it. Was good, but not at all what I was expecting. Plus, it wasn't very hot. I got the Manicotti and my boyfriend got the Meatloaf. Both were good but not the best we've ever had. The staff were all very friendly. Overall it was a great experience.

Decent food, watered down cocktails, and delusions of grandeur. Not bad, but don't believe the hype.

The food came as ordered, our server (Lauren) was very attentive to our table. It's nice to see the general manager come by and see how our food was and that always add a a bonus to me. Should you decide to visit? I would recommend a reservation on Friday and Saturday nights as it does get very busy. Our waitress was amazing - friendly, made great recommendations, and talked us through the menu, answer all of our questions thoroughly. We ordered the streak tartare app, clearly a staff favorite and they put a unique twist on the standard dish with mushrooms and a divine Dijon mustard sauce. The bread was baked to perfection - crunchy but soft all at the same time. My friend got the salmon, cooked to medium and I got the Jamaican jerk chicken which was not very spicy and contained a lot of flavor. The mango chutney and green mojo combo was complex and paired well with the chicken. My friend devoured she salmon so one can only assume it was delicious! I would highly recommend if you are looking for a date night or dinner with a friend and you're in the Broomfield area, Hickory and Ash is the spot!

I completely don't remember what everyone ordered but I DO remember all the things I tried at the table. Tater Tots - parmesan & chives / house onion sour cream - nothing outstanding about this but the kids/teens/young adults LOVED it and may have inhaled it in one breath. Roasted Cauliflower - saffron cream / chermoula / sumac / miso aioli / crispy onion - the saffron cream was a nice touch of essence and the crispy onion brought a good sweetness and texture to the dish. Honey Bourbon Wings - fried chicken wings / honey bourbon glaze / dill pickles - this was FABULOUS, good fry, not burnt and the glaze was perfect, not ooey gooey sticky, just sticky to the touch. Wild Boar Bucatini - wild boar ragu / cured egg yolk / parmesan / chives - this was my dinner order. I'm always excited when there's bucatini on the menu. It just holds enough sauce in the hollows to satisfy me. The ragu was cooked well, good sauce maybe it needed just a little pinch more of salt for my liking. Parking in the neighborhood is not difficult. We had an airbnb down the street and walked here in less than 5 minutes. There's indoor and outdoor seating as well as a covered patio-ish area. Definitely coming back next time I'm in Lafayette!

I may be a decent baker, but salads are beyond me. This Market Salad is one of our favorites. Their dressing is unique and I've never had anything like it elsewhere. It is a maple vinaigrette though not really sweet, regardless of the name. It's more savory than sweet, but the touch of maple cannot be overlooked. The salad greens, tomatoes and quinoa add a great balance of textures. The "spring greens" this time of year has specialties I cannot duplicate in a grocery store as their greens come from local gardens where they have access. Besides these ready to eat items, for in house or take out, there are plenty of fresh meat options at the butcher counter and specialty prepared meat items like the lamb meatballs with Spanish seasonings, ready to cook and in the freezer case. I plan to try those soon.

A hearty and hefty amount of meat was also mixed into the sauce, all pairing perfectly with the thick pappardelle pasta. I even mentioned looking forward to sampling ALL the Mozzarella AT A "MOZZARELLA BAR" What I got, only had two Mozzarella cheeses. When I asked why, I was told that, "The chef puts whatever he wants on the plate!" I was told the same story about the music: When a certain manager is there, he plays music. When he's not there, they play nothing audible. So the food was good, service was good, and atmosphere was ok. I may return to checkout a new bar

It's actually quite easy to miss with Teocalli having way more business just one street down. It's got a lovely interior with lots of wood and a nice rooftop patio. Walking in, I wouldn't think much of it. The menu is relatively simple with some appetizers, salads, hot dogs, sandwiches, and some other things. Where this place shines is their bacon, and by extension their sandwiches. Multiple people I've gone with have said the JGBLT is the best sandwich they've ever had. It's certainly up there for me, just behind panino I've had in Italy. It's nothing complicated, but each part of the sandwich is so well done that the finished product is understated and overwhelming. So good. It's also the perfect portion, every time. It doesn't seem to matter how hungry I am when I come in. They have an excellent beer list with lots of things to choose from. The whiskey menu is absolutely insane, and the whiskey flights are necessary to digest it. A small thing that is really nice- their sodas. It's not just coca cola or Pepsi products- they have craft sodas, which are really excellent. Additionally, you can get their non alcoholic cocktails for the same price as just a soda, which is lovely. The daily specials are always fantastic and a good way to get something unexpected. I will be extremely sad when I have to move from Lafayette, as this restaurant is one of my favorites in the world.
