So far, my experience has been great with the staff. They were quick and helpful. However, I did not actually order any food. The atmosphere looks fairly nice, even though I've seen people not liking the food and complaining to staff about it. Update: I decided to try the restaurant myself. I honestly think it was great. The staff were very friendly and hospitable as well as the food, which was juicy. The restaurant itself was clean and well organized, and I felt welcomed as I entered the restaurant. Have breakfast here while staying at the hotel. I mean there's not to much to say other than it's a typical hotel breakfast and a little overpriced for the quality and quantity of the food. The service was fast for the food to come out but the staff is very slow and not attentive to its customers. Three days were there you could see like myself, others getting up to grab waiter's attention to get stuff we needed. Ambiance is nice but with service lacking, it takes away in the end. read more

I was staying at the Hilton and this restaurant was conveniently located inside. I've eaten here for dinner and taken food to go for breakfast lunch. When I arrived late at night I was able to seat myself next to the fire place. It took a while for a waiter to come to bring a menu. I ordered a Reuben Panini and french fries. My food came out pretty quickly. The Reuben Panini tasted really good and the french fries were nice and crispy and delicious. The staff is nice and friendly and quick to help you once they know you are there. read more

This is actually a difficult review to write so I will just be upfront: I am giving this location 4 stars because of the food only! I ate here 4 times in a week because of the food... but the service is terrible. Normally I would take more than 1 star off for that, so I think their current overall rating of 3 stars is fair. However, after a few visits, I found a way to interact with staff as little as possible so I feel overall it was a 4 star experience for me. Be advised, the hours listed on Yelp are not correct. They often close between breakfast and lunch an dinner...basically, they are open when they feel like it and if you think I am speaking figuratively, please read on. I was staying in the area for a week and I liked the cozy fire pit and theme of the restaurant so I made a plan to stop in before heading out for a night on the town. The staff said they were dog friendly so that was a huge plus for me. I saw that they closed after lunch and reopened at 4 for dinner. I headed out around 5 and was probably seated around 5:20. I asked for a menu and they said cocktails only because their chef was running late. "Like an hour and 20 minutes late?" I asked and they said he should be in in the next 20 minutes if I wanted to wait for food. I was starving, so I waited. 30 minutes later, still no chef. Staff did not care. I watched them serve cocktails to a table next to me and the bartender literally pointed to the tip line and tapped it while telling them they better not forget to tip. Needless to say they left soon after, as did we. My poor pup fell asleep on the floor (see pic) and we left starving. For our next try, we asked for food to go. The chef was in the next morning and I tried their chilaquiles. It was very good but don't worry, they made sure to tell us to tip for our pick up order and proceeded to forget to add napkins or cutlery. I ordered 3 more times from this restaurant (TO GO) as their food was very good and the fries, especially the garlic fries, were delicious and pretty much perfect every time. It's a shame about the staff because the restaurant is cozy and serves great food but they have zero customer service skills and we never had a positive experience with any staff we encountered. The best thing here is the staff. Each morning, we were served by a group of familiar and friendly faces. They practically had our orders memorized by the end of the week; which made us feel very welcomed. The food itself was decent. Standard fare of breakfast choices. During my time; I tried the Build Your Own Omelet, the yogurt parfait, scrambled eggs, and more. Everything was good, but perhaps a little on the spendy side. As a guest at the Hilton who stayed on the executive level, with access to the executive lounge; we were told that the evening fare was downstairs in the 750 Restaurant & Bar. This wasn't something we were told at booking or even when I went to get a key to access the executive lounge, and we went down to have our snacks and sips only to be told we needed a voucher. So, I went to the front desk, and asked for the voucher; this was NOTHING like the executive lounge, it was a choice of one appetizer and 2 drinks. That wasn't enough to fill the bellies and hold everyone over until dinner, so we ordered food; mac n cheese (tasted like old freezer burn) and french onion soup (flavorless and room temp), the bill was $18.00 for what was likely the worst choices on the menu. Kind of expensive for the buffet it is. My mom got a Groupon for buy one person, get one person in for free. It came with free Jazz on Sunday & bottomless Champagne. Another factor to weigh in is that the buffet isn't in Las Vegas, so you can't hold it up to Vegas standards. Highlights: -Prime Rib. This was my favorite, I should have eaten more of it. It was cooked very well, seasoned well, and was very tender. -Make-your-own-omlettes - tell the guy what you want inside, he makes it for you! Everyone gave a standing ovation. -Crab cakes were hand-made, which was yummy. These were a popular item of the buffet, everyone kept waiting for them to come out! -Chicken Picatta was good. I liked the flavor, and this item was one of the better ones. Things to hold off on: -Chinese food. The batch I ate seemed to be sitting there for a while. I did try the fried rice later on, and it was okay. Nothing to write home about though. Service didn't seem quite there, they didn't seem to know when to take plates away or when to give us the bill. I'm hopeful though since this place is on the newer side. The jazz was worth it though, I enjoyed every minute of it. Weekend breakfast buffet only -- Our friends were staying in town at the Hilton at 750 Kearny in the Financial District. They have small kids so we decided meeting them here for breakfast would be best and convenient for all. We made a reservation for 9:30 AM, and they nicely had a table for us (4 adults, 1 child and 1 baby). Service was very courteous and mindful that we had small children in our party. The buffet was solid tasting with the breakfast standards, and they also had dim sum. :) That put a smile on our faces! We had a lovely time catching up with our friends and we weren't rushed out the door as they were setting up for the jazz brunch. This restaurant is located inside of the Hilton on Kearny Street and deserves zero stars. I honestly have never had food this bad before at a restaurant. Being that the dishes on the menu are overpriced, I was expecting so much more, but was sadly disappointed. My boyfriend ordered the special for the night which was a lobster macaroni dish and I ordered an asparagus risotto with chicken. When the lobster macaroni came out, I immediately noticed the burnt cheese/crumbs on top of the macaroni and thought the dish was overdone and was going to be burning hot. Sadly, when I dug in, the inside was cold while the outside was slightly warm. My bf sent his dish back telling them it was cold. Next thing you know, it came back out hot as hell as though someone had just quickly nuked it in the microwave. The dish was bland, and very greasy with a whole puddle of what looked like oil at the bottom of the bowl. All I could taste was oil. They call this their SPECIAL? Special my ass. My dish took a while before it came out way after my bf's and this one was just as gross. The chicken was steaming hot, but the asparagus risotto and veggies on the side were cold! I didn't even bother asking them to heat up the risotto after seeing how they nuked the lobster macaroni in the microwave. My dish lacked flavor as well and also had a pool of what looked like oil at the bottom of the plate. Plus, the staff just seemed as though they didn't give a flying eff about the food or customer service. They seemed as though they were just there to make a paycheck. Needless to say, both dishes were nasty and we only took a couple of bites and left hungry. At least the staff asked if we wanted to go boxes for the food. Umm... no thanks. I would not give the food to a homeless person. I don't want to kill anybody with the food. We left the place starving and decided to head out to another restaurant just within walking distance. We filled our bellies up with real food and not overpriced microwaved crap. If you value your life and money, don't eat here! You're better off going to a fast food joint. 3.5 stars. Only for lunches. The food is actually quite good for being so close to north beach's terrible food! Generous portions and never bland in flavor. Come to this place if you want typical comfort food and you want food quick- it's never very full, since the financial district people don't come into this hotel for their meals. Just go into the hilton, walk all the way towards the back, have a seat, flag a person down, and get your order in. I've enjoyed the ahi tuna (get sauce on side), pork chop, french dip sandwich and their crab salad. You'll be full after an entree and split of a dessert. The only downsides are that service can be a little scattered, but they are friendly and at around $25 -30 for a lunch entree, it's not cheap but it's what is expected out of a hilton. read more

Weird table setup when lots of people are eating alone. Service is also interesting. They rush you to finish and the waiter is hovering to see if you are done to hand you a check. I ordered a second beer and waited 15 minutes. Finally, when the beer came )on its own without my prompting) there was no "I apologize for the delay" --- more like - here is your beer and finish up. Then, since I was about done with dinner and half way done with my second beer the server came back over and said "do you want another drink". I would have had you not waited 15 minutes to bring my last one. Then I asked for water since they forgot to keep bribing that. I am writing this mainly on service. The picture: Chinese New Year Parade. We went out to LiPo for maitai, but couldn't move inside, so went back to our hotel for drinks and some food. It was also packed, and the kitchen was slammed, and we could see managers filling in serving roles. But it was our server, Houari, that was the star of the night. My spouse asked him gently if we could sit, and that we didn't really care how long anything took, and he took the best sort of care of us. This was at nine pm, and we found out that he was there since 5am, and after we know he had to be dealing with a lot of ornery people. You'd never know it. Houari is simply a service superstar. The food was pretty delicious. The drinks were well made, but it was Houari that brought us back for breakfast the next morning in a city full of amazing spots to eat. read more

Venturing out to find something else was just not in the cards. I wish we would have gone somewhere else. My husband ordered steak, I ordered the lobster ravioli. I may be so scarred by the meal I was delivered that not only will I never eat here again, but I may never order lobster ravioli again either. The main failures in my meal: Cold. I'm not talking warm, or even a little warm-cold. Cold, cold. Disgustingly cold. My ravioli was HARD, like it had not been cooked at all. The lobster inside was cold and flavorless. The sauce on the plate with the mushrooms tasted like packaged gravy. Funky flavor, and not enjoyable at all. I took one bite and pushed the plate away. My husband asked them to take the food back and the waiter said he would have them make a new plate [of the same thing]. There is no way that warm or hot this meal would be any better. It was just nasty. I was so put off that I didn't want anything else to eat after it. The waiter [though, nice] came back a couple minutes later and said, "The chef, he says that the ravioli is meant to be that way... it is supposed to be tender... and um.. the lobster is cooked". I said "That wasn't the problem. The ravioli was very HARD, not tender, and the whole plate of food was cold. That was the problem". He said sorry and that he would replace it with anything else for me. I told him again, I couldn't eat anything. It really just put me off of the whole meal. And geez... if the chef says that the way I received my meal is the intended way to eat it, they need to hire a new chef. That meal was unacceptable. Inedible, really. My husband ordered dessert after he finished his meal [which he was okay with] because it was our daughter's birthday, and by that point I decided to see if the dessert could redeem them. Nope. FROZEN, flavorless "pudding" aka creme brulee with an extremely thin layer of sugar on top. Fail, Seven Fifty. Overall, complete fail. read more

Especially inviting for nice conversations with good friends or a special 'someone'. ... yes, I must drag Larry here someday. One must try the seafood salad. It is divine. This is going to be one hell of a tough review for me to write - mostly because I am a Hilton Platinum Club member and I love the Hilton experience overall. This restaurant is located inside the Chinatown Financial District Hilton. I spent 2 1/2 hours and $150 bucks for the SPECIAL EASTER BRUNCH. 5 STARS for the live band, but they needed to take less breaks, or play some recorded music when they were off, cause when there was no music it sounded dead. 5 STARS for the food, as it was probably the best buffet and live prepared food I have ever had. 4 STARS for the Easter Bunny, Magician and Easter Egg guy, they sure made the experience fun (at least in the beginning). 1 STAR and a grade of F- for the absolutely atrocious service that I have ever seen. I will give the two hostess ladies a THUMBS UP for effort and for putting up with 200 pissed off customers trying to get in, and DEFINITELY two thumbs up for the tall white bald manager guy as he was the only one that was truely working that day. You sir, were the only staff in the front of the house that was worth a penny. Apparently, they only had two bussers, which turned into one and two bussers called in sick. But seriously, you have a BallRoom with four scheduled and a five hour brunch? What, did you just get out of Hospitality Management at SF City College? 0 Stars for the servers, both the girls and both the guys. Shame on all of you for not being proper servers, owning and taking responsibility for your tables and for letting customers walk away cause you were too busy walking around aimlessly waiting for bussers to do work for you - and they never came - and your customers left. It was entertaining at some level to watch them walk around and do nothing for the 2 1/2 hours i was inside. The servers were apparently too good to actually do anything which they relied ont he non-existent bussers to do. The entire server staff of four that I saw were worthless across the Board. It was even more ridiculous when I guess someone called in MANAGERS fromvarious floors and departments for reinforcements. The one lady was okay, but generally they seemed annoyed and blind to the stack and stacks of dishes that were all over the place and tables a mess. OR they were too "high up" on the ladder to actually do anything like clear a table with a large tray, bring out some linens and silverware and pour water! People were waiting and waiting and waiting. GOOD LORD, there was even a group of three smoking hott blondes waiting to get in....and families with children...you could not set up a table for them, really? As for me, due to Open Table, I got a guaranteed reservation and I dropped my Paltinium Hilton card when I walked in so I waited like no more than 5 minutes from the time I walked up and got my champagne and was immediately seated - As I walked by all those poor people that had been waiting forever (lots of them with hungry children for Easter), I got the "WHO THE HELL IS THAT GUY LOOK" and I so wanted to take them all in with me. Selfishly, I had a great time. But the ambiance created by the stacking dirty dishes around me, confused staff and pissed off customers in every direction, was too much. Whoever is in charge, the GM or the actual owner of the "750" needs to watch the video taped from the lobby and from the ballroom for Sunday Easter Brunch. I personnaly counted 93 people that left at one point of another, which would have been like $5,580 in sales (at $60 brunch price per person). DAMN HILTON CHINATOWN, you must really not care about the customers in order to flush 6 grande down the toilet on a Sunday. it is really hard to perform this bad, but this NEVER would have happened at a Mariott or other brand hotel. You owe apologies to the families and children that waited for a brand promise that never came. But at some level, there is some justice in the world. Your moron servers set a table for 14 and opened and poured a case of champagne that went totally flat on a table. Where do I go for a breakfast business meeting in or near Chinatown? At this point, the room usually falls silent. Then, the financial district hotel names start popping, "Hyatt? Omni? Mandarin?" This restaurant is located at the former Holiday Inn Financial District, which sits on the border between Chinatown and the Financial District on Kearny Street (their neighbors are predominantly Chinese businesses). On one weekday morning, I chose this place because a) the atmosphere is nicer than those Chinatown bakeries (quieter and relaxed) and b) the service is very good (continuous checking of coffee cups and juice glass). I opted for the full breakfast buffet ($21.00) versus the continental breakfast buffet ($16.00). Both options come with coffee, tea, and/or milk. This is much nicer than the previous 2nd floor setup where the food stations remind you of a Fresh Choice experience. Now, they arrange two long tables, one behind the hostess' station with the hot foods and one in the rear area of the adjoining bar with the continental offerings (pastries, cereals, etc.). Since I was here for the meeting, not so much for the culinary experience, I took portions of scrambled eggs, bacon (thick slices, cooked well done, the way I like it), sausages, smoked salmon, diced breakfast potatoes, and some fruit. I asked the waiter for a glass of fresh squeezed orange juice which was very refreshing. I chose this option as it is a better buy than the ala carte items that range from $12.00 to $15.00 per entree. They gave me the tiny ketchup and Tabasco sauce bottles for the potatoes; I think I may need senior assistance soon as I couldn't open the Tabasco one. As we finished our breakfast, I noticed the staff preparing a few tables for parties of fifteen or more, likely for office business lunches. Would I come back? Yes, if it for a similar type meeting, but, for an everyday meal, I'd likely eat a block or two uphill from here. They serve lunch and dinner too, but, given the numerous other options, I would probably dine elsewhere unless I heard something spectactular about the chef or menu here. I really don't like giving one star to anyone. I feel like anyone who runs a business wants to do the right thing and provide the highest quality product possible. This place really missed the mark. What makes matters worse is that it is associated with a Hilton hotel... A hotel that I spend at least 26 weeks a year patronizing. My first order of the lobster macaroni not only came out stone cold, but also came out 10 minutes before my girlfriend's very mediocre asparagus risotto. After sending the dish back... It returned piping hot but equally disgusting. I am absolutely positive that my dish was microwaved. The lobster was chewy and the macaroni had no flavor.
