Great malasadas. We preferred the ones made to order (we had ours rolled in li hing mui powder…read morewhich was so yummy) a little more than the pre-made filled ones (we tried lillikoi, ube and mango) but all were good and affordable. We also tried a keylime lilikoi pie and it was wonderful. Always a line, with great and friendly customer service. Right next to the Ulani shaved ice so you'll probably visit the location more than once a day!

The Legendary Malasadas A true Portuguese-Hawaiian style…read moremalasada is a work of art, and Sugar Beach nails it. Unlike standard donuts, theirs are fried to a perfect golden crisp on the outside while staying unbelievably fluffy, light, and pillowy on the inside. The Passion Fruit (Lilikoi) Magic: Tasting that tart, bright, tropical lilikoi burst against the sugary, warm dough is unforgettable. It cuts right through the richness of the pastry perfectly. Freshness First: Because they open bright and early at 6:00 AM, getting them warm means you are catching them at peak texture--crisp, airy, and meltingly soft. Mouth-Watering Savories & Pies It's rare for a bakery to completely master both ends of the spectrum, but they strike an incredible balance between decadent sweetness and rich, savory comfort: The Quiche: Getting a morning slice with a perfectly flaky, buttery crust and a rich, velvety egg custard is the ultimate savory breakfast comfort. The Key Lime Pie: A masterclass in balance. The sharp, refreshing pucker of the lime curd pairs flawlessly with a thick, buttery graham cracker crust, making it the ultimate mid-day or post-beach treat. The Croissants: True to artisan form--shattered layers on the outside, a rich, tender, airy web of butter on the inside. The Ultimate Beachside Vibe What truly seals the memory is the pure sense of place. It's a quintessential "cute little bakery"--unassuming, warm, and hyper-focused on quality. Being located right across from the beach means your morning walk isn't just an errand; it's an experience. Holding a warm box of malasadas and a fresh coffee while looking out at the ocean is pretty much peak relaxation. Just remember the golden rule of the neighborhood to avoid heartbreak: they take Sundays off, making Monday mornings all the sweeter when those doors swing open at 6:00 AM again! Service was awesome . Staff was very attentive

First, shout out fellow Yelper Haley K. for finally posting a photo of the menu a few weeks ago!…read more Halleloo! I feel like that should be Yelper etiquette. If you're one of the firsts, please do share the love and post a photo of the menu! Thanks to her, I was able to send my other half on a food mission and just circled all the menu items I wanted to try and he came through with the goods! Bless that man's heart :) I instantly fell in love and visited a handful of times since then. It's no secret, I looove desserts and have a special place in my heart for food trucks as well. You could say Ruby's is a culmination of all things I absolutely adore. Each time I've stopped by, the owners are so full of aloha and just so sweet like their tasty little treats. I've had their cookie tarts, cookie dough scoops, a number of their truffles, dipped strawberries, and stuffed strawberries. All of which I have thoroughly enjoyed. My favorites are the eggless cookie dough scoops, the circus circus truffles, & fruity pebble truffles. Their stuffed strawberries delish as well and are unique in that they are stuffed with a cookie butter creme and wrapped in cookie dough. Say what?! You can find them amongst the other food trucks at Kahului Harbor. Their colorful food truck is hard to miss and you'll find that their menu is very reasonably priced. 5 scoops of cookie dough for $1.50? Lord help me... I have no self-control. The only thing saving me from over indulging is their hours where I'm normally working. They're normally open from Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, & Saturday from 10 am to 4pm. However, they are currently playing their hours to see what works for them. Best to follow them on social media to get the latest news and updates (@rubyshi3.0)!

Located at the harbor why not stop by after getting your lunch from one of the other trucks located there. Walked up to their nice & colorful van & liked that there were pictures of everything. So many options made it hard to choose, I wanted one of everything. I got the cookie tarts which were 6/$5 for $1 each with flavor options of blueberry cream cheese or cookie butter. Decided to get the 6 & get half of each flavor. The other thing that really caught my eye was the cookie dough covered stuffed strawberries, which were $1.50 each. You do get your choice of filling which the ones I remember were nutella, cookie butter, poi whip, I got 2 both with cookie butter as that sounded like the best combo at the time. Everything looked so good, I had to try one as soon as I got back to my car. So so yummy. I am a huge cookie dough fan, so the stuffed strawberries were by far my favorite. The sweet of the cookie dough & cookie butter with the tartness of the strawberry, yes the perfect combo!! Tarts were also very cute & bite size, a very buttery cookie with a creamy topping. I shared 2 of tarts & ended up eating everything else myself all in one day. Aside from the the items mentioned there were also dipped strawberries, cookie dough by itself, stuffed cupcakes, smoothies, parfaits, & bowls. They have all your sweet tooth craving needs & everything is very reasonably priced. The ladies in the truck were very nice were right by saying I would be back for more. There is a $10 minimum for credit cards, which maybe they should make a sign for as I was told right as I was paying as my total was under $10, but they let me go as I was not notified before. Even though I was willing to buy 1 more thing, now I know.

I posted my original review of Cravings Bakery in 2012 on an old account and just received a…read moreresponse 11/2014. See review below as well as comment from owner. I hired Cravings Bakery on Maui through my wedding concierge from my venue. We sampled a few flavors and were pleased with the taste so we decided to move forward with them as our selection. I sent a picture of the exact cake I wanted and was told they could recreate it no problem. Closer to the wedding I again emailed them about specifications which were again confirmed. When entering the reception I initially saw my cake and was heartbroken. It looked absolutely nothing like my cake. They used fake flowers instead of sugar flowers (or real flowers in the least) and the cake looked cheap overall. After the wedding I tried to contact them to rectify this issue and voice my concerns and was ignored. I sent a total of 3 emails to the same address previously used and the one that is on their website. I even filled out the feedback form on the website. I have still not heard anything back from them. They have terrible customer service and follow up. They got paid and have since given me the run around not caring if their client is satisfied. I would not recommend them to anyone, more so based on their lack of professionalism than anything else. Comment from Patricia P. of Cravings Bakery Business Owner 11/3/2014 Aloha, This sounds absolutely unacceptable for any business. I truly did not have a Heather B. (or any other last name within a year before this comment came out). I truly apologize to Heather for how her cake turned out & a negative memory. The only Japanese garden I did was the cover photo for my website. I know that the couples special day comes with lifetime memories, I would never want or need to be a negative memory and I strive to be the best I can be in all aspects of life. I've been decorating for 30 plus years and have not had a bad review. Actually, starting in February 2012, I was working at Whole Foods Market (full time) and closed the bakery to retail customers, only filling wholesale orders . I would Love for Heather to contact me, no matter how long it took me to find this.. Thank you for your feedback. Pat Pimentel I stand by my review and am appalled that she is trying to play it off like I was never her customer. I would like my money back then if you are claiming such! The website I used originally to order my cake and for subsequent communication is the same so unless ownership has changed this was in fact your establishment who provided me service (can I really call it service when it was so sub par?) My wedding was not in a Japanese garden, that was never mentioned. I would love to contact you Pat, but my experience trying to contact you for months after the incident via phone, email and your website proves ineffective. I, to this day still cannot believe how bad my cake turned out. I have attached a picture of the cake I wanted (on the left) and the poor excuse for a cake I received on the right. I think it speaks volumes. How do you even get away with using FAKE flowers in a location like Maui?
