We chose the rose milk tea (hot) and it was divine. Subtle and creamy with the hint of rose. We also selected various sweets. Blueberry cream buns, cinnamon twists, white chocolate and strawberry cups and cookie and cream cups. We were all thrilled with the taste compilations and the truly light feeling of each selection. They even have some cushioned sofa seats which are super comfortable. The place is also clean and maintained. Their display setup is also super convenient, they lay all of their pastries for the customer to check out. They have labels that tell you the name and if there are any custards or fillings inside them and even the caloric count. Their cakes and cake slides are also designed in a similar way. So basically everything is displayed nicely and is easy pickings. If you want a visual of the drinks they have Kiosk next to their drink station where you can play around and look at their set of drinks. HOW TO ORDER: To order pastries or savory treats you simply get a tray and tongs which should be right when you walk in. Then you would walk to the gallery of pastries and put whichever ones you want to purchase on your tray, with the tongs. Then you walk to the cashier and get checked out. This is also where you can order drinks or the Kiosk next to the drink station. PRICE: The pastries are super reasonable priced for the quality you are getting. My whole family loves their pastries because they're always fresh and reasonably priced, you will end up spending over $20 every time because they are all so delicious! I have been to several 85deg in my day and in my opinion have experienced a fair gambit of service and offerings in each of the locations. For this particular cafe it seems they are very well stocked, perhaps too much if that makes sense. I see in the little bins that they have many items to offer but many times they have stocked them in multiple bins so you see the same thing over and over again. The pastries and breads are delicious just like in any of the other cafes. I particularly enjoy the taro twist, red bean bun and of course the brioche. I have tried many of their other items like cookies and chocolate breads and they are all good, but not to the point where I think that they do any better than other places. I know many people enjoy the squid ink bread here, I tried it and am just not a fan. Not because their version is bad, just because I found out I just don't like it. Maybe theirs is the best in all of the world, would likely never know since I think it is just kinda boring and not very good. Be careful when you go in and watch the kids. As much as possible try and get the breads from the higher bins where little hands and coughing faces have not been subjected to some potential germs. That's a PRO tip! This bakery and Cafe is known for having a wide variety of breads (both sweet and savory) along with different coffees and teas. I decided to go with a set of egg tarts. They have a mochi style egg tart, but I decided to just get the regular Portuguese style egg tarts. The custard had a pleasant taste, not too sweet yet flavorful. The pastry crust is also done quite well, where it doesn't fall apart once you take a bite of the egg tart. At the time I went to purchase the egg tarts, there was only one cashier, so be aware you may have to wait a bit if there's a line. However, the service was quick and attentive. Once you're done, fall into the line and wait for the next available cashier. This place is dangerous...dangerously good!!! First time back after the pandemic hit and I wasn't sure how the individual self-pastry-picking system would fare. Turns out it's just fine! All the pastries are individually wrapped in clear plastic wrappers so you can see what you're getting with the confidence that no one touched, breathes, sneezed on your pastry... what a good idea! I hope they continue to do this after the pandemic, to be honest. You still get the fun of scoping out the shelves of goodies, adding them to your tray with tongs, and playing an impromptu game of Tetris to get them all to fit on one tray. The baked goods are as delicious as ever. They offer both sweet and savory baked goods. I love the cheese and hot dog, and the impossible meat (pie? Not sure) was delicious! I also tried the new elote pastry and was very happy with the softness of the bread and the refreshing pop of the corn! My latest sweet haul had sweet milky cream filled, mango mousse filled, strawberry cream cheese filled and matcha/chocolate filling. All delicious. I really don't think you can go wrong. Compared to other 85 locations, I would say that I like this one the best in terms of the actual baked goods. Unlike many others I went to, they are consistent with their baked goods. My main complaint about this place is the wait. Not about the number of customers they may have, but about the staff not helping customers in line. Too many times I have come here and there is no one at the counter to ring customers up. I understand not having a need to have someone just standing at the register when there are no customers, but having to wait over 5 minutes to get help while there is a clear glass window from the back to the register is ridiculous. You see employees in the back working so it's not like they can't see you. And you see employees coming from the back putting out fresh goods etc. on the shelves so they walk right by you and yet no one comes out to ring up the customers. There is no sense of urgency at all. One thing I noticed at most 85 locations is also the labeling of the products. Either it has no label or the labels are wrong. I went to the register and spoke with Vanessa to ask if I could use my rewards on one of the seasonal drinks. She went to the back to check and came back saying yes, it would work. After placing my order, she then told me the reward actually wouldn't apply to that drink--even though I had asked before redeeming it. She said it could only be used on a sweet treat. Our favorite bakery in South Bay...we never get less than a dozen things when stop by. The cakes are better than the breads..but that is just relatively speaking. This may very well be the most frustrating 4-star review (update) I've ever written on Yelp. Usually, whenever a business gets 4 stars from a reviewer, that reviewer is likely to return. However, I might be an exception here. Am I crazy for saying that? Maybe, but hear me out: After a frustrating working day, I decided to stop by the Cerritos 85C, staying true to my word from my initial review where I said I'd make a return visit. I had stopped by several times after my first visit, but before my last, and there was usually a line out the door to get into 85C. This time, there wasn't a line to get in, and there weren't even that many customers inside. Now's my chance! I went in and headed to the pastries where I saw 2 customers in the area (just like last time, no more than 3 customers were allowed in there at once). However, I forgot to grab a tray and tongs on a table by the window, so I took two steps back, grabbed a tray & tongs, and returned to the pastries. I took my time looking at all the delicious pastries, but I had a really difficult time with the price tags. AGAIN??? This time, I had a hard time associating the price tags with the pastries they were referring to. I grabbed what I thought were the red bean and cheese breads. However, when I got to the register, the cashier (David) rang both up as garlic breads. What the...I threw my hands up in frustration. I explained to David that the price tags had confused me because it wasn't clear what pastries they were referring to. I apparently grabbed the wrong ones, but luckily, I remembered the names of the pastries I was intending to get. I told him I was trying to get the red bean and cheese breads, and so he went and got them for me. I couldn't believe I made that blunder! David definitely seemed courteous and understanding, so I have to give him props there. Imagine if I had to go back and select the correct pastries this time; I almost certainly would have chosen the wrong ones again! When I got home, I finally got to enjoy the pastries. The red bean bread was quite decent with the black sesame on top of the bun and the red bean paste in the middle. I really chose this one out of curiosity because I didn't recall what red bean tasted like. Now, I can safely say I'm not really a fan of red bean, but that's not to say the pastry was bad at all. It was good to the point where I can recommend it if you are a fan of red bean, but I, personally, wouldn't get it again. The cheese bread, on the other hand, was way better even though after the first bite, it almost looked like the bread had an empty interior! I guess that explains the amorphous shape of the bread. The bread was topped with melted shredded cheese, and it was baked to a nice crisp. Also, it turns out there was actually some filling inside! Cream cheese filling to be specific. The way I described the cheese bread makes it sound like a cheese bagel with cream cheese, but it's much tastier than that! Highly recommend, especially if you love cheese! Despite the delicious pastries, I'm actually hesitant about making another visit for fear that my head would explode. Okay maybe not explode, but if masks weren't mandatory, you could easily see the frustration on my face. 1st visit: I didn't see price tags on everything. 2nd visit: I got confused which pastries the price tags were referring to. What will happen on the 3rd visit (if there is a 3rd visit, that is)??? I'm not sure I want to find out! lol read more

Where do I even begin with 85. I've been coming here since 2015, when I was introduced by a close friend of mine. It was a novelty to me, as I was accustomed to good old fashioned coffee shops. As soon as I took my first sip of their sea salt black tea, I knew it would become a staple in my life. Over the years, I have come here for drinks, bread and their delicious cakes. I can undoubtedly say that everything offered here is exceptionally good-too good for this world. A decade later, I still visit on a daily basis. Why? It's that GOOD. Nowadays, my go to drink is the Sea Salt Jasmine Tea and theirs is the best one available on the market, you won't find another one like it. No matter how many other tea/coffee shops open in the area, 85 will always be the crème de la crème. I must add that I've visited other 85 locations, but this one is second to none. The crew here is what really makes this location stand out. The current staff is AMAZING, I don't even have the words to express my appreciation for them. They go above and beyond to accommodate me and even know my order by memory. I wish I could acknowledge every single one of them by name but the list is simply way too long. Never mind since I have the time, I will mention some that come to mind. Where do I even start, let's start with Jared. The one with a kind heart, whenever I want a drink he's always willing to prepare it. Now I move on to Jimmy, who is honestly one of the best in the city. Steven whose curly hair is always nice and even, being a great guy and barista is something he succeeds in. Then there's Matt G, a chill guy, whose other specialty, is hitting those threes. Silly Matt, who wears a hat and is all that and ready to chitchat, such a cool cat. Karen's positive attitude is apparent, greets you with a smile, which makes you stay a while. Megan whose presence feels like you're in heaven, on a scale from 1 to 10, her customer service is an 11. AJ is one of the best at the cafe, oh what else can I say. Kim who is very sweet, I'm sure glad we did meet. Lewis, brings the good vibes as soon as he arrives. Of course I can't forget about Michelle, who manages the store well, she pays attention to every detail, and kindness is unparalleled. And many more which I did not name but I like them all the same! Very grateful for this bunch. Lastly, I'll say that it's a big and spacious shop with plenty of seating to hang out. They make sure to keep it clean and tidy.
