Stopped by for a lunch break because I really wanted a Banh Mi. I was impressed by their selection of sandwiches and the fact they offer halal meat. I went with the mackeral pike sandwich because it just seemed so weird and unique that I needed to try it. I was happy I didn't regret my decision because I found it to be delicious, although I can see how it's not for everybody. The vegetables were fresh and crispy, and the fish had the perfect amount of oil which the soft bread absorbed perfectly. I enjoyed it so much that I finished it in one sitting, even though I was full half way through. The actual restaurant is beautiful and makes you feel like you are somewhere warm and tropical. Surprised it wasn't more busy at the time I came and I wish they were located closer to home. I also got a sugar cane beverage to wash down my food which was not bad, just could have been sweeter.

Service was friendly and the interior is updated and modern, but the food wasn't the best and was overpriced. One tofu skewer is $4.99 and comes with six small pieces of tofu. I didn't like the flavors of the roast pork bowl. I thought the pork was going to be either crispy or melt in your mouth tender. It was more gelatinous. I prefer the older Vietnamese establishments in Madison Heights that have cheaper and tastier food.

I was taking food to my son's house. It is about 25 minutes away from this restaurant. Now this needs to be said because of something I'm going to say in a little bit. I had gotten any orders from everybody in the house and I placed the order at the register. I was very surprised at how quickly I got the order. Wow amazing! Now this was the first time I had gotten food from this place. As I grabbed the bags that were tied shut, my brain said you should check the order. But then I thought, I am the only person in the restaurant, I'm sure they got it right. Well, I was missing two of my items. I decided that the next day I had to go about a block from where the restaurant is, I'll pop in and tell them what happened. When I told the person at the counter, the question out of their mouth was, well, why didn't you come back. I told them I was not nearby and that by the time I was coming back home, they were closed. They did give me the refund on the two items, but I thought it was an odd question to ask me before never saying that they were sorry they messed up my order. Now, the food we received was delicious. The bread, the fillings, were amazing. My wife's bowl, she loved it. The egg roll rolls were perfect. My only complaint about the egg rolls, was that they don't have a sauce for them. They do have a hot sauce that is very nice. But I was looking more for a plum sauce type of thing. I would definitely go back there again, but I will check my order before I leave the building. They have a small seating area that is very well appointed. I think that most of their business is carry out.

On my way home from Royal Oak, I decided to check Yelp for nearby restaurants to try and came across 88 Bánh Mì & Bowl, a beautiful Vietnamese spot with a modern, earthy vibe. It's great for both dine-in or grab-and-go. From the moment I walked in, Joyce was amazing and incredibly helpful. She answered all my questions about the menu and gave thoughtful recommendations on both food and drinks. I ordered a rice bowl with grilled pork, steak, and shrimp -- and it did not disappoint. The flavors were bold and layered, with a mild kick of spice that added just the right amount of heat without being overpowering. For my drink, I tried the Honeydew Fruit Tea. It was a bit sweeter than I prefer, but that was on me. I later learned you can customize the sweetness level. Overall, the experience was great. The food was fresh and flavorful, the service was welcoming, and I'll definitely be coming back to explore more of the menu. Joyce highly recommended the Bánh Mì sandwiches, so that's at the top of my list for next time!

This has been my third time coming here and ordering the Bahn Mi Special because it hits every single time! I brought my friend with me and she agreed. The pork tastes like lechon and they do not skip out on the veggies. I would love to eventually try their other food and/or drinks. I would give a 5/5 but this was my first dining in and there so many fruit flies, legit like 6, which put me and friend off because we were trying to catch up and enjoy the food. Not a great dine in experience but the food made up for it. Not sure if it's like that all the time but it was for us unfortunately.

I discovered this place on instagram and have wanted to check it out for awhile. I finally went and thought the banh mi were okay. The grilled pork one was a bit fatty and chewy, but it had good flavor. My friend got the specialty one and also thought the pork belly was a bit on the really fatty side. The chicken one was good, but a bit dry. I liked the beef steak one the most! I didn't taste much of the patê in any of the mini banh mi that I had. Maybe the portions are more generous in the larger ones. The inside is a cute cafe style with lots of fake greenery walls with LED signs. The service was nice and the cashier let me try a sample of the sugar cane juice, which had a sweeter coconut kind of flavor. I got the strawberry sugar cane drink and it was good! I wouldn't say it's the best banh mi place I've been too, but for the Midwest it's a solid option for the area.

Exceptional Vietnamese restaurant with excellent noodles, bahn mi sandwiches and fried spring rolls. Also their guava beverage is amazing. Spacious interior with several tables and prompt as well as accommodating service (the food is brought out to you). Part of the 168 Group as well. Recommended to check out in Warren!

I live up north (3hrs from here) and I'm visiting down here for a few days and I saw this place on my Facebook and decided to give it a try. If you love Vietnamese food this place is amazingly good! Friendly staff and fast service. When you walk in and it's a beautiful place. Both banh mi sandwiches I got were delicious and packed with flavor! The build your own bowl was super good as well. I did pork belly and shrimp. This pink guava tea was the best tea I've had. This place was so good I had to get a second order to go lol.

Saw this place advertising online so I give it a try. Looks pretty good when food reviewer was talking about it. Well they are wrong. Banh mi sandwich and vermicelli bowl is not bad it kinda bland. Even with fish sauce and chilies. Their appetizers or snacks are terrible. They basically reheat them in the air fryer for a couple second and serve it to you. I never had lukewarm fish ball or egg roll. Because they didn't reheat properly, egg roll was soggy and cold in the inside. Imagine that. Cold and soggy egg roll. I am used to fresh flan from bakery so their flan dessert is terrible. Store bought flan and dump them in a cup. Maybe I am picky but other people seems to enjoy their food.

The banh mi was so tasty! Filled with your normally banh mi meat but they added roasted pork which was a really nice touch. The pickled daikon and carrots cut through the fattiness of the meat and a refreshing piece of cilantro. The bowl was delicious but the grilled pork was still a little wet from resting in the marinade. 3 additional sauces came with the bowl. Fish sauce, chili paste and the marinade. The chili paste is spicy so be warned. Delicious food for a great price. Can't for the next time I'm in the neighbourhood to try the rest of their menu.

Came here from a friend's recommendation last week and loved it. Been back twice already! The banh mi is crispy and delicious, but the shaken mango is my favorite thing. It is something that is very easy to make at home, but the convenience of being to get some on the go is great!!! The inside is pretty cute and I enjoy the music that is played. The person taking my order is always listening and really nice as well! I also haven't tried it from here yet, but the grilled rice paper is something I haven't seen from other Vietnamese restaurants around here. I went back to Vietnam last year and saw "Vietnamese Pizza" everywhere on the streets and it was this! It is really good and fun to eat (but nothing like pizza! Def just a name that makes tourists feel more familiar haha). Other Vietnamese Americans I've talked to had no idea what I was talking about when I said Vietnamese pizza! I'll tell them it's just banh trang nuong now though haha.

I originally came here after seeing that they offer sugar cane drinks and was pleasantly surprised by the food as well. The 88 banh mi special had a generous amount of roast pork and the skin was extremely crispy. The bread was very nicely toasted. We chose samyang noodles ($1.99 extra) as the base for our bowl which were basically spicy ramen noodles (beware if you can't handle spice). Will be back to try their other banh mi options as well as their Vietnamese ice coffee.

Menu offerings is simple - drinks, bowls and importantly bahn mi. I like how their menu is simple and you don't have to spend long time trying to determine what to get. I got the 88 Special and grilled pork - both large and yes, don't bother with mini, get the large, you won't regret it!! It only took few minutes to get the food, I asked it for to go, but ate half each at the restaurant. I got the bread toasted and sliced. Now, don't expect your sandwich to be the same size and overstuff like those seen on the menu monitors - it's not. The sandwich are thin and slim, thus skip the mini and get the large. The bread being toasted, outside was crisp and internally very chewy, I could eat the bread by itself. Grilled pork was my favorite - the pork was excellent, seasoned well and I could just eat the pork by itself. The Grilled pork had more flavor profile then the 88 Special. 88 Special - while decent, don't think I'll get this again. Even now, I'm still thinking about the grilled pork than the 88 special.... definitely will be back to try other bahn mi offerings. Inside reminds me more of a cafe/coffee shop - limited seating, more of a take out joint. I wish they would slice the sandwich before they wrap it, it's hard to rewrap the other half with the wrapper cut in half. For drinks, you'll need to order one from their drink menu.

Best option for Banh Mi in the area. We stopped in for a special Banh Mi and the sugarcane juice and both were great.

Before I even got to the food, the restaurant itself made a great first impression. The property is incredibly well maintained inside and out. There's a spacious outdoor patio for Michigan summer days, along with plenty of indoor seating ranging from communal tables for larger groups to individual booths if you're flying solo. It's a thoughtfully designed space that feels welcoming no matter why you're there. Now, let's talk about the food. I'll admit something that surprised me. I've been to Detroit probably 50 times, and I honestly can't remember ever hearing about a Detroit-style cheesesteak. Judging by the walls covered in awards and accolades, though, it's clearly something they're known for. The sandwich certainly sounds like a winner on paper: ribeye and sirloin, provolone and Swiss cheeses, roasted mushrooms and peppers, caramelized onions, lettuce, tomato, sweet pickled jalapeños, aioli, house-made vinaigrette, all served on a freshly baked sesame roll. I mean... what's not to love? Unfortunately, this is where my experience took a turn. The ingredients themselves are good. The flavors are there. The problem is the execution. The ratios are simply off. The freshly baked roll completely dominates the sandwich, overwhelming everything inside it. The steak gets lost between all that bread, and instead of each bite showcasing the beef, cheese, and vegetables working together, the bread becomes the star--and that's not what you want from a cheesesteak. I do want to give credit where it's due. The portions are generous, and I especially appreciated that they take the time to make their own dipping sauces for the fries. Little details like that don't go unnoticed. There are plenty of positives here, and it's easy to see why Detroit 75 Kitchen has earned such a loyal following. But as someone who takes sandwiches seriously, I think this one is technically flawed. A great sandwich is all about balance, and for me, this one never found it. I genuinely wanted to love it. This sandwich lover just couldn't get behind the way it was built.
