I came in today and had a really frustrating experience that I feel needs to be addressed. I waited patiently at the counter for two staff members to weigh my bag of fish. While I was standing there, ready and clearly waiting, they completely ignored me and instead started helping other customers who came after me. What made it worse was that they specifically chose to assist the men behind me while I was still standing there holding my bag. I even raised my bag multiple times to try to get their attention, making it obvious I needed help, but they continued to ignore me. At that point, it didn't feel like an honest mistake, it felt dismissive and disrespectful. I understand that language barriers can happen, but basic body language and acknowledgment are universal. A simple gesture, eye contact, or even a quick "one moment" would have gone a long way. This is not acceptable customer service. I hope management takes this seriously and works on training staff to be more aware and respectful of all customers, regardless of who they are. read more

Beware!! shop at your own risk. My family purchased balut from this market, and after cooking and opening them, we discovered that all of it was spoiled and rotten. It had a very foul smell and was completely inedible. We brought the issue to the store's attention, but the cashier was dismissive and told us, "I don't know. I don't speak English." No one offered us a refund, replacement, or even an apology. We spent close to $50 on the balut, so this was extremely disappointing. On a separate occasion, we also purchased cucumbers from this market. After cutting into them, we discovered that the inside was sour and spoiled as well. I'm not sure who the owner or manager is, but I hope this review reaches them because these are serious concerns when it comes to the quality and freshness of food being sold to customers. If you shop here, please be cautious and carefully check the products you purchase. Based on our experiences, we received food that was spoiled and inedible, and the store did not take responsibility by offering a refund, replacement, or apology. Went next door for dinner, Pho Ga 88. So I decided to check this place out. Quality/Quantity - My wife bought some fruits and noodles. Discovered some new vermicelli noodles, the same brand that we buy our rice paper in, but these noodles were rectangular and flat. So I'm going to give it a try. Atmosphere - Small local business. Fairly neat and organized. Seemed to have all the departments. Produce and seafood look the freshest. Small parking lot, be safe. I parked at the furthest spot to protect both my car and me, lol. I was familiar with this market, but usually only for produce or Asian-cupboard staples. Stopped by to get some veggies and sliced meats since we were in the area -- and on the way out put some Japanese mochi on the conveyor belt because why not. I got home and opened the mochi that I was looking forward to snacking on, and it was super hard. I looked at the expiry date and it said November 20, 2024........................ Do not come to this location unless you really have no other choice. This location sells so many expired and past best by dates from 2022 and 2023. There were multiple incidents where I picked up a package of tofu , beef balls and tomato paste... all of them were best by year of 2022. It's disgusting that they don't go through their inventory and dispose them. I had to inform one of the shelvers in Cantonese letting them know that there were a lot of expired stuff and showed it to them. This place is disgusting. The meat department is filthy. I ordered 3lbs of ground pork and of course they gave me 3.28. They put it on a plastic bag typically used for produce with the price sticker affixed to it. The outside of the bag was full of ground pork pieces. The meat is SUPPOSED to be wrapped in butcher paper NOT thrown into a plastic bag. I walked out of the store after paying $7.00, came home and threw it away. I come here mostly for vegetables and fresh seafood!! The seafood is as fresh as you can get, cause they have fish tanks with live fish here!! Now, watching them kill the live fish can be a bit brutal at times, and that just is what it is... This market is small, stuff everywhere, and they have a lot of stuff here. They also have a meat market, frozen foods, canned goods, pots and pans, just lots of stuff! This place is popular, it's almost always busy when I come here. Parking here is a hassle big time, so I usually park across the street most of the time. That's one of the downsides here. One star is a generous review. Staff is disrespectful and discriminatory. You must pay cash or spend at least $10 to pay with your card. They do not have a sign posted in English that states this policy or tell you anything before they ring you up. Instead, they wait until they ring you up to waste your time or make you spend more of your hard earned money. I requested to speak to management to recommend posting a sign about their payment policy. My request was ignored, I had to ask more than once. They said there was "no manager" around and proceeded to point to a small hidden sign by the card reader written in another language that is not English. It is inconvenient to stand in line without being made aware of their foolish payment policy. How am I supposed to know how to read a sign that is not in a language that I understand? They do not care if you're a different race. This place is a waste of your precious time and I would avoid shopping here at all costs. My moms went after work to pick up some ribs to marinate for me. The butcher gave her this bag. She did not want it because there were no meat on 50%! It was ALL BONES. they said they can't do anything because they are closing and register close but if she brings it back next morning they will take care of it. This is one of the few asian markets in my area. They have a good variety of produce that is pretty fresh, meat, poultry, and fish market where you can get your fish fried fresh right there. They also have my absolute favorite fried shrimp chip in the world: Dandy's. I never knew it, but Dandy's are local (San Lorenzo) and they are bomb. Yay, another asian market!!! Makes me pretty happy!! Well stocked, modern, and clean. If I was too lazy to drive a mile down to foodnet or marina seafood and needed quick dinner ingredients this would definitely be my stop... They've got most things I would need both regularly and in a pinch.. I like this market alot and definitely see myself coming by often. They have basic produce and basic fruit, but I love that they will cut slices of fruit in a tray ready to go at $0.99, perfect easy addition to take to work. Not as big or as much inventory as the bigger asian stores and no deli, but that's alright, all in all definitely a great addition to the neighborhood and a great little market! read more

I went to 88 manor yesterday after work. I didn't know they close early due to Coronavirus. I was there on time before they closed. So I try to getting shopping cart. But they all lock up. So asked the worker if I can have one cart he say no, tell me to use hand basket. So I did. When I went to pay . Cashier asked if I need bag/ or bags. Since we can not bring my own bags in due to the virus. She refused to give me a bags. Unless I pay for the bag/ bags. I have to carry my stuffs out the store and have alot of stuffs.
