Moldy produce! Check your produce and items for expiration before purchase! Wha a waste of money and they should be checking produce before selling! Nasty!!!!

Did not have any expectations. I tried phǒ for the 1st time. It was so delicious i wanted to try to make it myself. The parking was easy. Plenty parking spaces. I didn't go through the entire store, I found what I needed in the front. I walked 3 aisles and grabbed seasonings that looked appealing. I had a good experience and plan to go back.

Came here to pick up a few things since it was one the way home. The nice thing about the place was that the produce and meat section was very clean and organized. Produce looked washed and packaged. Even the the items on the shelves were nicely in order. Only thing is that most the things there were pricier than Ranch.

There were so many bugs in this package of noodles, yikes!!

I came here last night to pick up some salmon fillet for dinner. It was $6.99/lb. I also decided to peruse some other aisles. I picked up a noodle package and there were so many bugs running around inside of it! I was so grossed out that I didn't check the best by date, so I'm not sure whether it's on the noodle company or on the supermarket. However, you would think that the supermarket is checking their inventory from time to time to find these kinds of things... I may still go back just for salmon, but avoid everything else on the shelves. You need to spend a minimum of $10 to use credit. Otherwise, you can use debit or cash if you have it.

Rotten bad Florida logan, selling for $7.99 lb, and I only found 4 that was still ok to eat! Everything else was bad! They packaged their fruit where they turned the 'good' side outward for buyer to see, but the other hidden sides (all bad) Yes, please check your items as they tend to carry LOTs of expired items! I have yet to report this to the health department! I think we should start doing so because it's a health risk for everyone!

Great great store!! I come here to buy my seafood and vegetables all the time!! For a market, this is a decent sized store. They have a large area for fruits and vegetables. They also have a meat department along with the seafood area. They have multiple fish tanks with live fish, so if you want fresh fish, it doesn't get any fresher than that. You can't beat their prices on their vegetables and seafood, and that's why i come here, great store!!

Lazy ass workers. They don't honor their business hours. Don't come here if you plan on coming here after work. Go to another market. I watch her let a customer in and close door on us saying they're closed but it wasn't even during closed hours. She's guarding the door so no one can come in so they can leave early. Only needed one item towards the cash register also. If I came during closing hours. I get it but dam yall close the doors before you're even supposed to be closed.

Parking can be hard to find especially since it is located in a busy area but once you find a spot it takes less than 15mins to pick and choose your food. I came here a bit late so the many options were already sold out but was able to buy whatever that was left. Good selection from onigiri, musubi, to sashimi platters. I got a couple of rolls but the California roll is a bit pricy compared to other stores. Usually Cali rolls are about half the cost of the regular sushi rolls like cherry blossoms. Overall quality is great, price is reasonable. I loved the mango salmon. Def will be back!

There aren't many Japanese markets in the East Bay, so finding one compared to the markets in San Jose was a blessing. The workers were friendly as well. The shop was small but well maintained. The onigiri tasted even fresher than the ones I've had from Mitsuwa and Nijiya. They were generous with the fillings. The sushi and sashimi were fresh and quite affordable too. I had a nice drink to go with my snack and it was refreshing! I'm quite impressed with this grocery and will be back when I am visiting Castro Valley.

They had like langgonisa, tapa, tocino, fried danggit, corned beef, fried rice and many others. The breakfast special goes on bento like lunchboxes. The great thing was...it was buy one, get one! Many of them seem to be doing the bare minimum -- not only slow, but also lacking basic customer service skills. I came in on May 27 around 6:30 PM to have shrimp weighed, then asked for beef from the same fresh section. The older woman assisting me completely walked away instead of helping. As she was leaving, she said, "That's a different department, go ask them," even though the beef was literally in the same section as the seafood. When I told her there was no one else working in that area except her, she ignored me and kept walking away. Very rude and unhelpful behavior. Seafood City, please pay closer attention to the employees working in the fresh seafood/meat section. Customer service matters. If employees cannot keep up with the demands of a busy environment, management should address it appropriately. The woman assisting that evening was dismissive, rude, and made the experience very unpleasant.

I have driven past it countless times without stopping, but this place is truly a hidden gem. From the moment you walk in, it feels inviting: clean, bright, and well organized. They have everything from meats, seafood, cheeses, and pastas to sandwiches and specialty groceries. There is also free parking in the back (90 minutes), which makes the visit stress-free. On this visit, I picked up a little bit of everything: The Hot Salami Sandwich (see photo) was incredible. Piled high with meat, cheese, lettuce, tomato, oil, vinegar, and oregano. The oregano sealed the deal. It was one of the best sandwiches I have had in years. Cheese counter. They stock amazing selections such as Midnight Moon, Goat Gouda, and Prosciutto di Parma. I also grabbed a slice of Italian head cheese (photo). It was not quite as bold as the souse meat I grew up with, but it is delicious with crackers. Smoked Salmon. Sourced from Alaska, melt-in-your-mouth fresh and flavorful (photo included). You can tell they take seafood seriously. Mary's Organic Chicken Wings. The real MVP of my haul. I was thrilled to get two pounds of all flats (photo before and after cooking). I baked them at home, and they came out crispy, flavorful, and juicy. The aisles were stocked with pastas, sauces, and pantry goods, making it feel like a one-stop shop for both everyday items and specialty finds. Between the quality of the food, the thoughtful touches such as honoring my all-flats wing request, and the genuine neighborhood market vibe, Galvin's has officially earned a spot on my regular rotation. If you are in San Leandro and have not stopped by yet, do yourself a favor. Whether you are grabbing lunch, stocking up on meats and seafood, or exploring the cheese counter, Galvin's Market is worth the trip. Highly recommend!
