Their live seafood section is limited, the crabs were a bit small, and the "fresh" fish do not consistently have clear eyes. Not necessarily the most responsive seafood counter staff - long lines for mediocre fish. That they have live seafood is good. They are my last choice in a pinch. read more

Parking lot is small and spots are tight. Their selection of asian foods is a lot smaller than like 99 ranch. I was a bit disappointed. I wanted an aloe drink and masago and could not find it. My first and last time buying crabs here. There are $5.99 per pound aquarium for the smaller ones with missing claws, and $6.99 per pound aquarium for the bigger ones. I told him I wanted to get three biggest crabs, but I only got one big crab and two smaller ones with missing claws. The guy was super nice and cool to us, which made me trust him right away. I came here last night to pick up some salmon fillet for dinner. It was $6.99/lb. I also decided to peruse some other aisles. I picked up a noodle package and there were so many bugs running around inside of it! I was so grossed out that I didn't check the best by date, so I'm not sure whether it's on the noodle company or on the supermarket. However, you would think that the supermarket is checking their inventory from time to time to find these kinds of things... I recently became a regular customer at this place because of pregnancy cravings for seafood and they have live blue crabs there despite some negative feedbacks from relatives. They had very bad experience with one specific guy at the seafood section. Today, I handpicked 5 alive blue crabs (8.99/lb). One guy handed me a brown bag for to put tha crabs in. What a nice guy I thought. Then he took my bag to the back to weight it. I was a bit weirded out because they usually weighted in front of me when I handed them the bag. But I didn't think much more. I waited for like 2 min. I checked out some claims while waiting. Then he handed me back the bag. Last week I bought 4 crabs (similar size, 8.99/lb as well) for roughly $17. I saw the bag said $25 I was like oh maybe they are heavier this time. I drove home. When I opened the bag at home (I live 10 min away), there was a very bad smell. I had a very bad feeling about it. There was 6 crabs in the bag, 4 of them were dead with very bad smell. At this moment, I was like there is no way the crabs wouldn't survive 10 min drive home and I HANDPICKED 5 CRABS, NOT 6!!! Talked to my relatives and exact same thing happened to them and they never came back there again. I was shocked because I would never thought some decent human being would do that to others despite what their motive was. Karmas is good to get you sooner or later. The parking lot is tight and small here, but I came on a weekend morning and there were still plenty of parking. It was nearby and I wanted to see what asian groceries were available. It seemed to be well stocked and have the typical essentials. I couldn't find my rice paper for wrapping spring rolls though so no idea if I just missed it or they don't stock it. Some of the produce seem to be reasonably priced though. I saw some dried noodles that I decided I wanted to purchase. Once I got in line and was trying to pay, I learned that there's a minimum for credit card payment. It is $10. I believe they do accept contactless payment as I was trying to do that but due to the minimum, I wasn't able to actually purchase my groceries. read more

Rotten bad Florida logan, selling for $7.99 lb, and I only found 4 that was still ok to eat! Everything else was bad! They packaged their fruit where they turned the 'good' side outward for buyer to see, but the other hidden sides (all bad) Yes, please check your items as they tend to carry LOTs of expired items! Great great store!! I come here to buy my seafood and vegetables all the time!! For a market, this is a decent sized store. They have a large area for fruits and vegetables. They also have a meat department along with the seafood area. They have multiple fish tanks with live fish, so if you want fresh fish, it doesn't get any fresher than that. You can't beat their prices on their vegetables and seafood, and that's why i come here, great store!! read more

Lazy ass workers. They don't honor their business hours. Don't come here if you plan on coming here after work. Go to another market. I watch her let a customer in and close door on us saying they're closed but it wasn't even during closed hours. She's guarding the door so no one can come in so they can leave early. On the plus side, space is clean and bigger than other locations of this chain. Cashiers are friendly and usually speak both Chinese and English. Pretty well stocked. Downside, not the freshest produce or fish (unless they are swimming in a tank). Woman fishmonger is rude every time (I tried to get the older gentleman to avoid her). She doesn't understand English or Chinese or the universal language of gesturing. Great new market located down the street from another older 88 Manor, but this one has all the parking & all the space on the street corner! They usually will have all you need & it's just a lot more room for activities here. Nice, bright & clean as well - only thing is leaving the parking lot can be tricky with a weird intersection right outside. Make sure you follow the street signs accordingly! read more

Very clean Asian supermarket. Offers a variety of items that I'd usually travel to Chinatown for. Toward the back you can pick a live fish from the tank and have them clean and fry it. We selected 3 fishes to fry and it only cost us $24. read more

I spent my childhood days here in San Leandro and remember when this shop used to be a Rite Aid, which then turned into a CVS. Now its been transformed into an Asian market and it almost makes me want to move back home just so I can have one near me!! I rely on Asian veggies to get me through my meals - bok choy, gai lan, yu choy. They had it all and then some with their well stocked produce sections with pretty good prices (compared to bigger chains like H-Mart and white people markets like Lucky). Great assortment of tofu and noodles - I found shaved noodles that I've been boiling and eating for the last few days! Since it just opened, the crowd hasn't been too big and there's ample space to comfortably shop. The aisles are still somewhat empty but I was able to find all of my essential produce and spices here. They're even passing out some snacks as a "thank you present" for shopping right now if that's of interest. As it gets bigger and brings in more people and revenue, I can see it getting very chaotic and popular. For now I'll enjoy the moments of being able to travel in close distance to get all the Asian veggies that I can dream of for a good price. Hope 88 Manor continues to do well. PS: Do better, Santa Cruz. We have so many AAPI and Asian international students that a market is really long overdue. read more

(seafood not open yet). this vast space has potential. i saw products never seen before. the China products i'm primarily avoiding until i'm sure they adhere to health regulation. eats: "Silver Horn" Asian herbs & spices beef jerky (5.99) -made in u.s. tasty, has slight msg & lemongrass flavor Wasabi Green Peas(2.49) individually wrapped (8 oz) -has genuine spicy wasabi taste, made in Taiwan pluses -wide aisles -many cashiers -bigly parking lot, much bigger than the other 3 locations. reason for 5th star. read more

Don't know where those hatred comments coming from, but been coming here for a year now and experiences are so far so good. It's quite authentic if you know what I mean. Fish are alive and fresh, crabs are amazing. Stuffs are pretty nice in my opinion , and occasionally u find some authentic snacks from Asia. Veggies are fresh and prices are good (comparing to Oakland Chinatown). There are other Asian markets in San Leandro, but I think 88 is the best one. read more

They're finally open! Or it's a soft opening for now. I've been waiting for the opening of this location to take my parents since I usually take them to the Manor location and it's just too cramped and makes it harder to social distance. They're in soft opening so there are "specials" on pricing (I don't do grocery shopping enough at Asian markets to know if it truly is cheaper), however the store isn't fully stock and there are some empty shelves. For San Leandro, this is probably the Asian market in terms of cleanliness. It seems like they reused the old floor tiling from CVS as there are huge scratches and random holes on the floor. They carry a decent variety of items and try to have a little bit of everything for Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai, Filipino, Korean, Japanese customers. It would be difficult to find certain specialize ethnic products, but in a pinch, this would be a great spot! The only thing missing is a deli, but we can just continue to go to New Sang Chong for fresh bbq meats. read more

It used to be a CVS, now it has become a new 88 Manor Market. Ample parking in the lot. This store is having a soft opening, so not everything is fully stocked yet. The live seafood tanks are still empty, there are signs to hire staff from cashiers, stockrooms, butchers, etc.... It is a spacious store, lots of shelves and room to stock more merchandise. I went in to look around, bought a few vegetables and noodles. Will come back since I am a customer of the smaller store further down on the same E. 14th street, and the bigger store ( smaller than this one though ) but crowded on Farnsworth street. read more

While the name is Seafood Supermarket, I shop there mostly for the fresh vegetables such as Bok Choy and such. Just be careful when picking a package since the coolers don't keep those veggies very cold. Read the labels and see the dates, or you could be buying package from a couple days ago. OK if you use it that evening, but not so good if you use it over the following 3 days. The store is also the place to find every imaginable packaged or bottled food from all over Asia. So many bottles in so many languages. Kind of a lottery to see if you find something that really pleases you and becomes a regular product. Drop in and look around the next time you are driving by. Allow 15 minutes to search for new items. Staff and checkout are efficient so you won't stand in long lines. read more

I wish I can give it zero star. I purchased a 25 lbs. rice from this store. I should check the best used by date before buying it. It expired in less than 30 days. There were bugs in the rice. Pretty good market if you don't want to drive out to Dublin for the 99 ranch market. Took my mom there when she visited and she goes to 99 ranch, supermarkets in San Jose and chinatown in SF so she knows prices. She said the veggies were decently priced and didn't feel like I was getting ripped off. There was a lot of selections for dried foods and veggies. The veggies were pretty fresh too. They don't go bad as fast as the veggies I would pick up at safeway. Pretty clean too! There is a 10 dollar minimum for credit cards so make sure you bring cash if you're just grabbing something quick. read more

Had a really poor experience at the meat and fish department. Asked for the spareribs but there was too much fat when he showed me different cuts, so I said nevermind. Then he has a temper and says, "Don't play around with me". Next I went to the fish department. He cleaned the fish and brought the five pieces to the fryer. He drops one of my fish on the floor. He picks it up and wipes it w a cloth towel. Then he continues to throw it in the fryer without rinsing. The meat and fish workers clearly don't like their job. They work with a temper and give a lot of negative attitude toward customers. read more
