Considering local moves are charged at hourly rates based on number of men, you definitely want guys who know what they're doing and get things done efficiently. I was first in touch with Cirilo who was the point person for communicating everything, and because of shelter in place we sent pictures of our home in lieu of a home survey. Everything went smoothly, Cirilo called 1/2 days before the move to confirm. On the day of, they arrived before 830am and once they got in, it was right to work! It was like a whirlwind that whipped through the house - just men on a mission, getting right to work. Cirilo himself also came and helped with packing so we had 5 men helping us at some point, all of this was so worth it because we were done by 3pm in the afternoon! * Important - this leaves you time to enjoy your new home in the daylight :) The 4 men who helped us were Julio, Rigo, Marcos and Alberto - not only are they absolute workhorses and strong as can be (some of the stuff they carried solo, I would never have thought could be carried solo), they were so pleasant and courteous on top of everything! THE PROS: Most everything was packed (or overpacked/wrapped).The guys showed up on time and we're for the most part courteous. THE CONS: The owner, Julio, doesn't have very good managing skills with his team. There were nine movers moving us into storage and managing them and getting them to listen was nearly impossible.They broke the connecting hardware to our sectional couch, which had to be replaced and either broke or separated a refrigerator door shelf, which we needed to reorder. After asking them to leave certain garage items meant for our old house, they ended up packing them anyway, for us to dispose of. The BIGGEST issue was that Julio underestimated the amount of storage we needed and after asking him several times, he finally said we needed a second unit, only to find out, that his estimation was still too little. The move out ended up being two days, due to their poor estimation and ended up costing me several hundreds of dollars in extra storage fees and spending an additional night in a motel. On move out day, the team was hungry and we'd offered them some of the food we'd need to dispose of. They tried cooking a frozen pizza meant for the oven, in the microwave and it started to burn, when we finally got through to them, what they needed to do. Most any mover knows that refrigerator doors need to be removed in order to get it out of a single door entry. But, these clowns tried to do so, before they realized what they needed to do. It was a miracle that our main refrigerator was actually put back together in working order. They had left off the freezer door, when they stored it, but that happened to be a blessing, as we didn't have mold growing in it for five months. Unfortunately, the additional refrigerator and freezer units were disgusting, with mold growing all over them. They should have told us to dispose of the food ahead of time and unplug those units and let them air dry. There were more issues, but too numerous to mention. Due to the chaotic move out, I insisted that we move in over two days with less guys each day. We were supposed to have five the first day and four the second day, so we could manage them better. Unfortunately, they sent five guys the first day, but with just one truck! We'd had two and a half trucks on move out day and we were unloading the larger of the two storage units that first day. So, the first day ended up being short and pushed everything into the second day, when they had two trucks. But, they sent seven guys and it was another day of chaos! If it hadn't been for my brother, who helped them reassemble beds in proper order and help supervise them, things would have been even worse. Chris, the lead guy was snarky with me, when I told him he'd need to leave a path in the garage to the laundry room, for our new washer and dryer delivery. He said we shouldn't make it easy for them...which really pissed me off. That was after they had broken a large shelving unit and then told me it was cheap furniture! It was in fine shape when they moved it out, but it probably was broken during the process. Chris wanted me to sign all of these waivers when they were done and collect payment. I refused at that point, and said I wouldn't have any recourse for broken and missing items, He called Julio, who told him he'd take care of it later. I ended up calling him after three weeks, but that gave us time to completely unpack all of the boxes they'd packed and evaluate the damaged and missing items. In the end, Julio paid for the broken couch hardware and missing refrigerator shelf. I overlooked the damaged bookcase, as we ended up not having room for it and would need to dispose of it. Our grandfather clock weights were packed by Julio himself, but they were not in any of the boxes they had packed. When Julio came out to put the last bolt in our bed, he spent well over an hour looking for the weights. He said he'd packed them separately in a cardboard box marked, "weights." He finally found them in a plastic bin, marked as such. All of our plastic bins had been pre-packed prior to us hiring 925 Movers, so we sure they weren't in one of those crates. One of his workers and unpacked them from the box and put them in a bin, for what reasons, nobody knows! I don't know how this company has received so many 5-star reviews! It was extremely misleading for us and I would NEVER hire 925 Movers again! The ONLY reason I'm giving them two stars is because Julio did not pressure us for payment and for the fact he'd paid for the damaged and missing items, including a TV they had smashed the screen on, which belonged to me son. Julio went to Best Buy and bought and delivered a replacement to him. My advice is to go with a company who has their own warehouse storage and can accommodate all of your items. It'd been much cheaper in the long run by doing this. I did like the fact that Julio quoted by the job and not by the hour. BTW, this bus. is in Concord, not Danville... read more
