I tried some of her fries and they were thin but still crispy. Overall the food at West Oak Nosh was so good and delicious! Service was good, prompt and our server was attentive despite being by herself. I think this place is great for the summer to have a drink and eat. Will have to come back for the drinks!

What I do know is dem' joints was GOOD! The atmosphere added to the experience. It had the feel of a family-owned spot. I came in shortly after 1:00, so I may have missed the lunch rush. The young man who took my order was courteous, and everyone seemed comfortable and friendly. It even looked like some friends had stopped by to bring the owner a special dessert. It felt less like a corporate restaurant and more like a neighborhood spot where people actually know each other. Great burger. Great fries. Friendly people. Good atmosphere. It's still the same building at the corner of Waterloo and N. Filbert st. and they have their own parking, which makes it easy to stop in. The chalkboard menu has been replaced with a digital menu, but all the old favorites are still available. Really, not much else has changed. They offer all day breakfast sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs, additional sandwiches and some delicious fried options including multiple options of fries. They're also known for their milkshakes. The team here greeted us right away and gave us time to look over the menu and snap some photos before we placed our order. On this visit we ordered a small Rocky Road milkshake ($7.75) and a small is still a generous sized milkshake. I split it with my friend and it was plenty for both of us. One thing that makes their shakes special is that they blend them into a thick shake, but add an extra scoop of ice cream on top. This way it's nice and cold and you can scoop it or let it melt as you drink from the bottom of the shake and the thick consistency lasts longer. Stopping in reminded me why we love this spot and that I need to visit more often- especially for a full meal so I can enjoy their burgers again.

There's something about having an A&W burger and with their rootbeer, it just tastes right. Not fancy, not cheap, just good. Drinking ice cold A&W rootbeer right out of a cold, glass mug is perfect...and when it's empty I can go back for 2nds, 3rds. I almost feel bad like I'm taking the soda it's so good. Don't get that when I'm drinking out of a paper cup at all the other burger joints. When you are in Lodi, CA, check out the local, historical A&W, you won't be disappointed. read more
